Speaker 1 (00:00):
Since you do well. This was a Rick.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Good to see you guys again. Man, It's another beautiful day.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Beautiful day.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I'm loving this.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
We're all well rested. Well, I guess you and I
are a little more well rested. Dave still works like
fifteen jobs. Hi, Dave, good to see you.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Could to see you, Ryan and Rick. To see you, Dave.
I caught up over the weekend. Yeah, big time.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Yeah, you're telling me about the two naps to get
it on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
I took two naps Saturday. I couldn't believe it either.
But then I feel so much better. That's glorious and
I'm rested, ready to go.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Hey, Dave, let me ask you what was the last time, like,
because you're just again always going, when was the last
time you were able to sit down and take a nap.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
I'm actually asleep right now.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Yeah, but I know you guys are going to be
loud enough that all awaken at some point. No, I
mean you, I mean, listen, there are plenty of people
that are busy during football, all right. I mean you
learn to kind of whether it's a quick power nap
of about ten minutes somewhere, I'll occasionally you know do that.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
You're good at that. I'm not. I'm not good at that.
I need more than like ten minutes, because I've seen
you do that on the plane. Yeah, and I'm jealous. Yeah,
you do tend to get a little bit of drool
on your shirt when that happens. But you know what,
that's that's a small price to pay.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
I'm a big I'm a big napper. I try to
nap every day. In fact, you try to nap every
day every day. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Again, I know this appage is you get a little
bit older so.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Well, and honestly it developed after having kids.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Like I wasn't much of a napper until I had kids,
and then I learned to sleep with them the.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Hell time of the day. You're here doing this, like
when do you nap?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
When I get the kids to school and the wife
to work and then I come back call.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
They're just going back to bed, right, that's if you're
if you're thinking you're gonna you're gonna puts like I
tend to get a nap every day.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
When you're going back to bed about nine o'clock, that's
going back to bed. That's not a n apper.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Sometimes it's not early most of the time. It's more
like eleven am.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Twelve eleven eleven could be construed as a nap.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Yeah, it just depends on how much is going on, really,
and my wife's schedules all over the place, so I
usually have to wait until she's set into.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
What you're doing and you can go get a nap.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
I do you're gonna say that. I'm just it's wrong.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
That was a question.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
You're not wrong, Okay, all right, She's like, go ahead
and take a nap. Actually, she's very sweet. She'll like
pull the shades down and she'll say, yeah, it's.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
A little bit like a dog or a cat. Right,
you know what when you open the kennel and the
dog that goes right, all right, I get it.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
It's good.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
It's good to come. I love dogs.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
I love dogs as well. Yeah, we're all over both
big dog fans. So anyways, I was just curious because again,
I know that you're basically always moving.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
If you ever have time.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Ten minute nap, that's probably about that's probably what you
should do.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Say. It's like, don't they say that's that's good for you?
Like it? Yeah, it generates I don't know something. Yeah,
it's really good. For your brain. They they most medical
people and studies recommend naps like regular nap just refresh,
good for your brain, kind of a reset for your brain. Okay,
I'm a big napper. I love naps.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
You said that. Love It got two Saturday and two
on Sunday. Remember I did.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
I wasn't your memories not as good on the second one,
But then I was like, oh, I think I'm going
to take another nap. Nice and it felt good. Okay.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Sean Payton, by the way, Melon one was ago, said
that nothing has been decided whether or not JK. Dobbins
would go on injury reserve, but he did not.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Practice today, So yeah, I think, can you imagine and
I'll see it. Let's see when will I be Friday?
For sure? I'm going to try to see the look
that Sean Payton gives Chris Thomason when Chris asks any
sort of question at the post practice.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Press conference about who's going to play well.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Chris, Chris, this is the one that came out and
said the Broncos are considering putting JK. Dobbins on injured reserve.
Did you hear nobody else had that story?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Did you?

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Aaron Glynn yesterday, yes going off about Rich Sure did Okay,
in case people miss it, because I played it yesterday.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
By the way, Rich Rich Rich shoe CHAMEDI is a
reporter that covers the Jets, and he reported that Garrett
Wilson was going to be out for several weeks.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Weeks week might be going on, ir that type of thing.
And so here's Aaron Glenn when he got up in
front of the media yesterday.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
I'm going to pass on talking about the injuries since
you're Rich.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
Oh he's not here, has all the answers, so you can,
guys can get all the injuries from Rich.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
So I go right into the game. Okay, there's I
R is not something you want to ask Rich Well,
I'm telling you to ask Rich Well you better call them.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
No disrespect to you or Rich, but like you want
to hear it from you.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
You know, you guys have been here. You guys have
been hearing from me.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
But now since we're just reporting stuff, you know that
I haven't said and maybe you should ask you.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Thanks everybody.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
The Patricks Mike of the New York Jets jumped in
to said, hey, he tells everybody will see you on
the field.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Wow. Folks.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Wow. Yeah, it's tough being a beat reporter at times,
especially when things are going bad. Just going with the
Jets ros have won seventh straight. I was thinking of
the Jets just that, right, I thought you were. Yeah,
Bronco was won seventh straight, and even that can be tough.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
It would have been.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Pretty funny as far as a little bit of a
hat tip if Sean Payton got in front of the
media today and said, I'm not going to talk about injuries.
In fact, if you asked Chris Thompson, what's going on
with Ak Dobbins, He's got all the answers, would have
been pretty funny.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
I said yesterday, Dave, I just thought that.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
If you're for what it's worth, and and I know
Sean can be kind of prickly when it comes to
this stuff, but there is a very clear message that
he sent this year at the very beginning of the year,
said I'm not going to talk about it, and he's
very clear on that. Some coaches blow that line. There's
a lot of coaches that will talk about injuries. Hey,
this guy, you know, we think about him, get him
back this week. The injury isn't too significant. Lamar Jackson

(06:00):
didn't practice today with a knee injury, and John Harbaugh
is out there saying, oh, he'll be fine, you know.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
So it's like, Okay, thanks for the thing, thanks for everybody. No,
that's great.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
We appreciate the transparency there, but Sean has been very clear,
I'm just not going to do it. So I sort
of feel like Aaron Glenn putting on this performance is like, Okay, well,
you've been clear with the media before about other injuries,
So now all of a sudden, just because Rich put
some reporting out there, you just didn't like the way
it was framed.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Yeah, I think the league.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
I think the league would do a service to everybody
to sort of have like a standard policy agreed of
here's how we're going to handle things with all thirty
two teams. I mean, coaches don't. Coaches would rather be
sitting in their office looking at film or working on

(06:50):
the game plan than having to talk to members of
the media.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
They just would.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
The issue is, I think from the league standpoint, is
that how a lot of fans get their information.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
A lot of fans want to hear what the coach
says twice during the week. In terms of his post
practice press conference. So you know, I'm not sure if
what the remedy is, but until the league mandates certain
protocols with respect they do now in terms of how
many times a head coach has to get up and

(07:24):
answer questions.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
But I get it. I mean I understand it. You know,
they don't want to talk about injuries for sure.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
This is two times now with Aaron Glenn, by the way,
that we've come back to and you know, the first
year coach, first year head coach. But you remember after
the London game when he had he had kind of
gone off on the media and they said, you know,
I thought about what you guys had to say, and
I actually kind of want to walk back some of
my comments about the fields. Yeah, right exactly. And we
were both like, ah, man, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
If I like, yeah, he made a mistake doing that. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
I think it's kind of same thing in this, like,
don't point out another reporter out there reporting on something.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
You control the narrative.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
You are the head coach, You get to dictate sort
of this stuff did to make it performative like that,
I just felt unnecessary to me.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
I think it was a message from Aaron Glenn to
Rich Chimini that hey, man, listen, I don't know where
you got your information. If you want to, if you
want to share it with me, I'll make sure that
that that gets cleaned up if it's coming from somebody
in the organization. But I hadn't said a word about
the injuries in this particular injury, So I think your

(08:29):
information and where you got it might be a little
bit faulty, and we don't know the relationship between them.
I mean, I think every head coach in the NFL
probably has a couple of people that they tolerate more
so in the media than maybe a couple that they
absolutely do not like. They don't like what that person

(08:49):
says or what that person writes, they don't like the questions,
they don't like the flannel, they don't like what the
person wears. Yeah, I projected, and I'm sorry about that.
If so, you know, I get it, I really do.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
You know.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
There's there's some head coaches, and you could probably name
a few dave that actually seem to enjoy the banter,
the back and forth with the media. I think there's
not many, but there are that In the NFL history,
there's been plenty of very entertaining head coaches dealing with
the media. Most of them tolerated. Some of them are

(09:26):
pretty surly. But you know, if you're a guy that
really likes it, like if you're a former media guy
like Dave, if you are a head coach right now,
you've been in the media your whole life, you would
crush press conferences. I just need to win some games. Well,
you got to win some games, ye, right, you know, Nobe,
maybe I'd be prepared to handle the media, maybe more so.

(09:50):
I mean, but but again, some of these guys that
are head coaches, that are really good football coaches, before
they became a head coach, probably didn't have to do
a press conference, and if so, not many, And now
all of a sudden you're getting peppered with questions after
a game. You do a press conference, even though it's
a zoom press conference. Sean does a press conference on Monday,
sort of looking back at the game.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
It's required by the league that he does a press
conference on Friday, a post practice press conference. So, but
some of the guys, some of the coaches that are
relatively new, I mean, Aaron Glenn, how many press conferences
do you think Aaron Glenn has had to give in
his career as a coordinator. Coordinators had to do one
a week, so he probably had to do because he

(10:33):
was a coordinator for the Lions. But Aaron Glenn was
a hell of a player. I mean, so you sort
of learn on the fly, I think in a lot
of respects in terms of how to handle the media.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Yes, and with players too. They had a lot of cases,
you know, coming out of college. They haven't had to
do many. They become an NFL Pro football player all
of a sudden, got a bunch of microphones in your
face and cameras, and some guys handle it better than others.
By the way, seven to two oh ninety three five,
can we get Dave a bib for those power naps? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (11:02):
I listen, guilty, guilty on on on Atlas Charters with
the Broncos. Sitting one seat away from Rick, A couple
of times looked.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
At and you wake up. You go, yeah, you don't
even know this day, but there's a couple of times
I've reached over with a napkin and kind of dabbed
your chair. Yeah, I appreciate that. True friends what they
do friends.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Yeah, And he has showed me the video. I mean
just kidding, there's no videos that whatsoever. You know.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
I remember when Vick was here and it was kind
of again, you know, a guy that had done done
one week as a defensive coordinator for years and years
and years, and all of a sudden the ramp up
to being a head coach and now doing the press conference.
Plus he was doing hits on KA, right, he would
do it hit hits with you during the week, and
then on Color Morning News he was doing like he
was just he was all the time, and there would

(11:54):
be a melting point in the season, like especially when
things weren't going well, that he was doing the best
he could. But it just is inevitable that Hey man,
I've been asked that question a few times. I'm kind
of done answering these same and name questions from you people. Yeah,
they couldn't quite even understand half of the words out

(12:14):
of my mouth. I really talked and said what I
wanted to say.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
And I do think this.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
There are members of the media We've talked about this
before that.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Are what I call got.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
Youa folks because they intentionally try to ask a question
and maybe maybe you have to. Maybe I've just never
been in that situation where I learned that part of
the craft, but where they will ask a question and
they're trying to elicit some sort of I'd call it

(12:49):
emotional response. Either you know, you're pissed or you're asking
a question that you want that coach to allow and
something that he really doesn't want to talk about, but
that you know, I understand. Also, that's that's their jobs,
that's the media's jobs, trying to get the coach to
talk more about his team so that ostensibly the people

(13:14):
that he actually read what he writes or listen to
what he says, can learn more about the team they love.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Well, I think you're right.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
The only line I would draw on that, just as
a media member is the gotcha question That is more
about making yourself the.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Story than the actuals we have.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
We have those, Yeah, we have those. Fun not many,
but we have those.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
We have a few of those.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Yeah. We got a couple of friends that are like that.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Yeah, and they are friends, you know, but it's just
the whole Like I want to be the story more
so than actual the story, which is the team.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Feels to me like Denver media is rather friendly compared
to other cities lived in. Yeah, I would agree. I
don't see Denver media being all that tough on the
teams and the coaches.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Here Ryan by the way, eight one two three four five,
Ryan have a flannel bib for the holidays.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Oh that's what folk the perfect gift. My first thought
was docking stuff right there.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
My first thought was what kind of endorsement can we
tie into bibbs? Is there is there a company out
there like Gerber or something that. Yeah, I'm just saying,
we've all had Gerber.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Bib Why wouldn't they make it. They've been in the
bib business longer than we've been on the planet.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
You got me some kind of designer bib company out there, right,
like Couture bib right, just throwing that out there, all right, Yeah,
that's that's a that's a good one. Five six six
nine zero as our Kaikomaspruit health text line. Another big
story today saying in New York Jameis Winston he's back,
he is back, and and.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
I missed Jameis Winston press conferences.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Delivered me from pick sixes.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Yeah, well that was a great one. But did you
hear him today?

Speaker 2 (14:52):
I didn't hear the one today.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
You guys ever seen the musical Hamilton.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
I have not, no, but I'm familiar with it.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Very good, Okay, very good. But anyways, here's James today.
I'm on fans and know that I'm gonna do my best.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
You know, obviously I'm gonna have fun, but I'm going
to execute, have a surgical execution.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Uh, and just and just playball, man, Like.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
This is something I've been doing since I've been four
years old, and now I just get to do it
in the.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Greatest city in the world. I'm gonna be saying to
what my son, what's the greatest city in the world.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Yeah, that's that's a Hamilton reference with Yeah, I don't know,
and it's ten year reunion.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
He's awesome, He's so great, He's great. Love that just
breaks into song. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
It is a press conference today with the media. As
he was named the starter because Jackson dartis in concussion
protocol will play. He leaped frogs Russell Wilson, who was
the backup, so Mike Kafka, the interim head coach, opting
not to go with Russell Wilson and James Winston.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
What are you reading too? That read into what's your reaction.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
To that, I read into it to Mike Kafka is well,
first of all, before I say what I read into it,
Mike Kafka is for Lee trying to win games because
the job is open. He's an interim coach, so he's
going to do everything he can to score points and
win games. Secondly, I would read into it that he
thinks Jamis Winston gives him a better chance to do.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
That than Russell Wilson and Russ came in when.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
Jackson when Dark got hurt and you know, didn't look
great and last part of the game. I think that's
a tough spot, even for a veteran to come in.
You just don't get I mean, you don't get many reps,
if any reps during the week, and even for a
guy like Russ, you still you have to have reps

(16:41):
during the week. So Winston, he'll probably throw a couple
of picks, but he'll also probably throw three touchdowns, like I'm.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Just praying for the Lord to deliver me from pick sixes.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
That's one of the greatest lines uttered in the history
of the NFL.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
All no denying that.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
After the game against the Broncos, which he threw a
pick six.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Just one, right, he had the one pick six, but
he threw a pick six. No, I know, I know,
but I thought didn't he have too.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
I'm think of another two interceptions.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Yeah, two interceptions and nearly two pick sixes because Jaquon
returned one. Remember late in the game, you nick Benito
had it, but it was a Fumberos retouched out.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
But at the time, but then Jaquan your.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
Flannels to take it's one pick six, but that was
Beno doesn't get a pick six.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
You're right, un button top button for you, putting it
up a bit. You have a chest out, Yeah, well
you got some lettuce hold.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
It in there. Do I want to pull over the
microphone here?

Speaker 3 (17:40):
But? Uh? Is this it for us? That's the question
I have for you, Rick? Is this it for Russell Wilson?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
I feel like Russ is done. He's had a great career,
but the last couple of years. Man, you have to
wonder how this hurts his Hall of Fame chances. He
was a sure thing Hall of Famer one the Broncos
got him and he certainly tarnished his legacy. I still
feel like Russ will get in the Hall of Fame.

(18:07):
Eventually based on the first nine years of his career,
which he was one of the best quarterbacks in the
National Football League. But it's kind of sad to watch.
It's always sad to me to watch these legendary athletes
hang around a little bit too long. I felt the
same way when I watch I watched Mike Tyson fight
Jake Paul. I felt sad watching that, And you know,

(18:31):
this is kind of how I feel watching Russ out there.
Not a good thing, and it happens to all of
them eventually, they all hang around too long. Hopefully Russ
still gets to the Hall of Fame, because I do
think he's earned that, but I think it's going to
be a while before they before they get him in there.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Where are you, Dave? Is this it for Russell Wilson?

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Probably so, I would say. I mean, if the season.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
Just plays out the remainder of the season and he
doesn't get a chance to play in.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
I mean, who's who's gonna want to sign him? Now?

Speaker 4 (19:10):
My my qualifier would be would be it would to
be completely out of reach for a team to want
to sign him as a backup guy for not much money.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
No, I think that could happen.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
But then it gets down to whether Russ would want
to assume that kind of role, like going to a
team that had a really good but young starter.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Does Russ want to go for.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
Minimum money and mentor him and sort of be that guy?

Speaker 1 (19:37):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
I don't know. My guess would be no, he doesn't,
and he's He's made plenty of money in his career.
He doesn't need money. It just feels like he's done
and it's kind of hard to watch.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Now. I'm having a lot of people telling me that
it was actually two pick sixes against the Browns. The
Benito one was actually it's Indy. The fumble recovery touchdown
was was with with Andy right who got who gets
the second one? So it's Benito but got one in
Ja kwan. They just got picked sixes in the game.
A lot of people reached out to me all of

(20:13):
a sudden, right right back up.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Does your wife like to let us on the chest?
You know? Really? Rick? Seriously? What people expect him to answer?

Speaker 4 (20:27):
That hates it and she's instructed me to put an
air on it.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Some women love it, some women not so much.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
If you're married to a guy who's got chest hair
and you happen to hate it?

Speaker 2 (20:42):
What so, what do you do? I have no experience
being married to a guy that has chest hair. I
don't know what ran my wife.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
I got a lot of people texting me saying Dave
is wrong. My wife has told me she likes that
the chest hair.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
No, I was wrong, I said, I said the Benito's.
I'm thinking of a different game, right.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Right, No, you're thinking of the Coles. I thought You're right.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
I'm not.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
I just don't remember the second pick six. But I'm
not saying it didn't happen.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
No, I know, I thought so too so. But anyways, No,
I who was.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
The linebacker that got the late interception? It looked like
he might bring it back from the south goal line.
Cody was that Martin? Yeah, yeah, I know. There were
a bunch of interceptions, right.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
And then that was that was this.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
There was a Saints game where Cody had almost two
didn't he almost have like two?

Speaker 2 (21:34):
He did score one game, right, yeah?

Speaker 1 (21:36):
Yeah, he got one in New Orleans?

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Yes, yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, that was that was
pretty well. Anyways, delivering from pick sixes. We'll see what
ends up happening in the Giants game.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
I thrilled James's back. I'm thrilled. It makes me happy.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Well then, damn, I'm happy too.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
All again, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Yeah, we're off early here on Wednesday. Very excited to
be here with you, Dave Low and Ryan Edwards and Ricluis.
We'll right back, okay away Thomas Burt Health text all
you guys are funny. Ryan shave the rug. It looks
like my wife's number. Actually, it's it's such a check
in on that.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
I see one here, seven one ninety five for right.
I'm praying. Do they almighty to deliver me from drool
or chest hair?

Speaker 1 (22:22):
I like it?

Speaker 2 (22:22):
I like it. Here's one. Does Dave's wife like him
in his night shirt?

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (22:29):
That's an old yeah, that's the old morning show stuff.
We appreciate you listening as long as you obviously have listened.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
I mean when you when you nap, Dave, when you
get the ten minute nap in is that you're.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
In your full clothes? Right?

Speaker 1 (22:43):
You got to be right listen again.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
I have, and it's tough to do, but I've mastered
the art of being able to talk with my eyes
open again. Right now, I'm not sure, I'm napping, but
I'm resting.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Is extreme boredom that like, sometimes there's a correlation there.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
I put my I did this last week.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
I put my head down on my desk at school
at Creek and I got seven.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
To ten solid. Nice. Yeah, just felt much better at that.
I actually did see better. Actually did yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Wow, just like that.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Good to try it.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
Listen.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
I can I can nap very quickly now, but not
like not like that. No, And I can't do it
in public either. I feel the anticipation of people interrupting me.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
I wasn't in public. It was in my own little
cubby hole.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
But somebody can walk into your office, right. We can
knock on the.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
Door and you can hear the door open to the
athletic office. I had my door shut so you can
hear it. So that would have awakened me. Okay, yeah,
like a light sleeper. They think you died. Oh let's
go there. Yeah god, yeah, it's interesting.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
You can. You can fall asleep at your desk like that,
but then you proba we have trouble sleeping at night
in your own bed. I can fall asleep. I fall asleep.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
You can't stay asleep, no, because you you roll over
and your neck is sorry, your back and we got the.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Same thing going on there. I can fall asleep in
it like a minute, taking a nap at night, same thing.
I'll fall right to sleep. Then I start to flip
and then flopping and turn it and yeahs.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Like with this second second. So we got a little
Jordan Huffrey back back. Broncos fans winded a wide receiver. Yeah,
Sewn delivered.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
Okay, hey, you know what he's He knows what he's
doing in the offense and he will block, which they
have been great, have been great at that. So why
not Is.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
That signaling maybe something like maybe are they're going to
focus more on the running game by bringing in a
guy like him?

Speaker 4 (24:55):
Well, I mean I I would say in this game,
you're going to see now Dobbins is not in.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
I don't want to.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
Overstate this, but that's you're missing Certainne and Dobbins other
than Knicks on my individual list. If you said, guys
you cannot afford to lose, right, Benito's had a great year,
but you do have some guys behind him that not
probably not as good, but they're good, right, I'm not

(25:28):
saying RJ.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Harvey is not good.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
But on my list other than Knicks, the next guy
and the next guy that you could not afford to
lose would be Certainne and Dobbins. So I mean, I
think this is a to me, this game is somewhat
of a referendum on coach Peyton and his creativity, how
he gets this offense going. I mean, I'm really anxious

(25:51):
to see this thing on Sunday because the Denver offense
has to find a way to be better, and if
they do, then I think they'll have a chance to win.
And You're right about Dobbins, I was thinking the same thing.
I think he's the MVP of the of the offense
up to this point. Bo Nix, of course, your quarterback
has been inconsistent, uh, And we're gonna find out if r. J.

(26:15):
Harvey can carry the load. He's been I think been
really good as a pass catcher, kind of hit and
miss running the ball. They may have to design some
runs and some plays to fit his his skill set.
And then I think the question is who's the next guy? Ryan, right,
is a really good question. Is the McLoughlin. My guess

(26:36):
is it's Bedet because he's built a little more sturd
he's a bigger back, yep. But I think McLoughlin has
a skill set that in a game like this without Dobbins,
you probably want to figure out four or five ways
to get him the ball in space and let him.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
Do you need.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
You need some like energy, good energy, and ability to break.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
You know, a gash play, and McLoughlin can do that.
We've seen him do it. Only one of those three
is good in pass pro and that's Beday and that's
a little bit troublesome. It's going to be really interesting
to watch that. Let's hope Dobbins is only out for
maybe this game. Then you get a nice break after

(27:17):
this game against the Chiefs because he's been the motor
of that offense and he was having a career year.
And this is a guy that's never finished a season,
never played a full season in the NFL due to injuries,
and we knew that going in and then it's just
too bad this happened. The Bronco's been on a roll
with him.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Well, and you saw this last game the Chiefs played
right before the buy against Buffalo. I mean they just
ran right at him. I mean that was you know,
you keeping Patrick Mahomes on the sideline. They rushed for
one hundred and forty one yards. Now you have James
Cook wh at twenty seven carries. I don't think we're
going to see Rgie Harvey get twenty seven carries in
this game.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
But how can you sort of replicate.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
A bit of that, knowing that that's really kind of
how this offense, this offense, the Broncos offense really works,
it really runs well.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
I don't know if it really works that way. I
mean I haven't I haven't seen. I haven't seen that.
You know, I've seen them when they've been able to
run the ball effectively. Primarily it's been in the second half,
and it's been with Dobbins. So what you cannot afford
to do is get off to a slow start.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
In this game.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
And let's say the Chiefs make a play. As good
as the Broncos defense has been, and they've been great
this year, you know, this is a different animal coming
in here on Sunday, right.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
So.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
The Broncos offense has to show up.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
And how do you get bow kind of settled in,
get him some completions, and how do you how do
you jump start the running game early they've been able
to run the ball at times, but primarily in the
second half and again primarily with Dobbins. So again that's
why I say this is a I mean to me,

(28:58):
this is a Sean Page game.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
This is this is why you hired him.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
He's been he's been a terrific offensive mine for a
long time. But in this game, this is why you're
glad Coach Peyton is in the locker room working for
the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
What if I told you the Broncos were eighth in
rushing attempts on the season.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
I would say the majority of those rushing attempts have
come in the second half. And when I say the majority,
I would say like overwhelming majority. So the key for
me is, how do you get off to a quicker start.
How do you stay on the field offensively, knock out
two or three first downs and maybe you get stopped

(29:41):
at that point, Well that's what Then you punt it
all the way down and I think Krashaw will be fined.
But you got to make Kansas City work on long
fields so that defense can go to work on them.
You can't take the ball on the thirty five, go
three and out and punt it and then the return
puts them at the minus forty two and then they
get now all sudden, they operate in your territory way too.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Much our league.

Speaker 5 (30:08):
You've heard me say that, and we've played teams earlier
in the season that have been in this position. You know,
I won't get into any of the individuals. It has
to be the next man up. And you know, we
just finished the stretch, a pretty good stretch. Now we'll

(30:29):
play one game in twenty three days. I believe it is. Yeah,
I mean that's it is what it is.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Yeah, Sean Payton loses his voice a little bit. I
kind of felt feel bad for coach out there as
he was speaking.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
With the media.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
We'll have some more Sean and some of Bonick's courland
said all that stuff coming up here and just a
little bit. But yeah, the Broncos are a little banged
up heading into this Chiefs game. And yeah, Rick, I
know we'll spend some time today talking specifically on it,
but how do you think the injuries specifically, like how
much does that change sort of your assessment of what
can happen in this game.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
It kind of feels like the Broncos are a tired
beat up team going into this game, which is not ideal.
Where on the other hand, the Chiefs are getting healthier,
they're coming off of buy, they got guys that are
going to be back that they haven't had in the
last couple of weeks. And we're talking key players for
them as well. So not so good. This is not

(31:21):
a great position to be in. You know, It's been
ten games and a lot of road games early, a
lot of night games, and the injuries are starting to
mount on this football team. Broncos have been pretty healthy
the last couple of seasons, but it's starting to look
like JK. Dobbins for sure is an issue. And we

(31:42):
talked about that last break Pats or Tan. I feel
like they, of course, you'd love to have him out there,
but I feel like they've adapted pretty well without him.
With the guys they have, they're really deep in the
back end of that defense. They're not so deep at
the running back other than Doppins RJ. Harvey. I think RJ.

(32:04):
Harvey has the potential to be a really good football player,
but I'm not quite sure how he factors into the
run game at this point. And I think we're as
Gary Kubiak used to say, we're fixing to find out
I think we're going to see on Sunday. And we
talked about the other running backs, McLoughlin and Tyler Biday.

(32:25):
I think chances are we may see more Biday than McLoughlin.
Beday is better in pass pro than R. J. Harvey
and McLoughlin, So he's going to be out there in
the field. He's going to get his fair share of snaps.
With Singleton out, now you're down to just two real linebackers,
green Law and Stronad. I've done a bunch of backups.

(32:48):
And you know this talk that maybe Drew Sanders could
come back. I don't see that happening on Sunday. You
got Lavelle Bailey on the practice squad. I'm sure he'll
be elevated. Garrett Wallow, I guess can come back this
week too. He's been mostly mostly a special teams guy.
But luckily Greenlaw came back when he did, because Greenlaw

(33:10):
makes up for a lot of that. But they cannot
afford another injury at all at that position.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Yeah, in a lot of ways, as he's pointing out there,
you're gonna have some time off after this, So there's
a mindset here. If we do everything, we can put
everything together. We've got to try to win this game.
But understanding, you're gonna get a little more right on
the other side of this thing in the stretch run
that you have coming up. But you're right, I mean,
you're you're playing a pivotal division game, specially fever sites

(33:36):
on the AFC West. This isn't a must win for
me though, like heeps being framed that way by a
lot of Broncos fans, I think this is a ViBe's win.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
This is a for.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
A national narrative or even maybe a local narrative on
the team. It would be great to have this game,
but you're a playoff team either way in my opinion,
and that's not trying to have a cop out or
try to get ahead of this thing in case they lose.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
This is just how I feel about it. It's like, hey,
you want to have this game.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
I think for all the people out there that are
thinking the Broncos or Friuds at eight and two, yeah,
I'd like to shut them up. But there's not necessarily
a must have. There's a lot that can still play out.
Really in this entire AFC West race, which includes, by
the way, the La Chargers, who are only one game
out and own the tiebreaker currently on the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
So just as perspective, it's.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
A big game if you want to win the AFC West,
A really big game, and I'm with you on that.
A lot of people saying it's their biggest game of
ten years, you know what they're saying in Kansas City,
this is their biggest regular season game in the Mahomes era.
That's how they're looking at it. So they're coming in
here as the desperate team, and you never want to
see that with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes coming into

(34:43):
a game being the desperate team. This is going to
be a really fun one to watch on Sunday,

Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant.
