Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now we're heading out to the KWA Common Spirit Health
(00:01):
Highline and bring on Broncos starting tight end. Evan Ingram, Evan,
you're wrong with Ryan Edwards? Benjamin albrighton Ryan Edwards?
Speaker 2 (00:07):
How are you sorry, Logan?
Speaker 1 (00:11):
I you're on Dave Logan, Ryan Edwards of Benjamin Albright?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
All right, that's okay, that's on me. That's on me. Evan,
thank you so much for the time.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
How are you I'm doing great, man, glad to be
on here.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
How y'all doing, We're doing.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
We're doing good, Evan, appreciate the time. Obviously a big,
big game coming up for you guys, and we all
know what the chiefs are about. When you guys have
played well at home, you haven't lost the game, the
offense hasn't sort of got untracked a little bit.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
You've been in this league long enough to see ups
and downs.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
What if anything, can a veteran leader like yourself impart
the guys in terms of this part of the season
and how to approach the remaining games.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Yeah, I think it's I think it's all about kind
of staying the course. I love I love the standard
we have here. I love the way we work We're
always chase and improvement, and we understand how hard it
is to win in this league. So at the end
of the day, we have to continue to get better
and chase improvement. But when it comes down to the
moment each Sunday, we got to get the job done,
(01:14):
however it looks, however it gets done. As long as
we walk off with the field of the w that's
that's the goal. So we just got to continue, like
I said, chase improvement, be able to look ourselves in
the mirror and see the things that we can improve
and work on those things and then execute when it
comes to it.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
How hard is it to stay you know, dialed into
the moment. You've read off eight of those wins you
talked about. The two losses have all been you know,
last second type losses. How difficult is it to stay
dialed into the moment with those type levels of success.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Yeah, I like we have great leadership here and even
on the offensive side of the ball, where you know,
we don't take any moment for granted, We don't take
any any opportunity lightly. And also we we try to
stay away from complacency, so we're we're always ready, We're
always locked in and we understand that nothing is given
(02:06):
to us, so you have to have that mentality to
go out and take what we want and that kind
of keeps us locked in and focused and hungry for
achiever more.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
You've been playing a lot of football now in this
era of Chiefs football. What is it about this team
that has been able to sustain such a high level
of success.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yeah, I mean over the you look at them over
the years. Uh, just they just know how to win.
Each game is in a blowout or they're not, you know,
dog walking teams. Nobody really does that in the league.
But you get to that last five seven to five
minutes of a football game, and you know, those guys
just know how to finish and win. And you know,
the two roles speak for themselves, and obviously the quarterback
(02:49):
play and what they can do on offense and then
Spags on defense all the things.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
That they do.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
So they I mean, they've built a great team, they've
built a great organization, and but they just they just.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Know how to win.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
And that's gonna, you know, that's gonna give us all
own challenges when we see in.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
The Sunday you mentioned Spags the defensive coordinator Steve Spagnola
of the Chiefs. When when you guys preparing for this
week and you see some of the stuff that Kansas
City does, talk a little bit about what you see,
I know, a myriad of pressures and and stuff that
maybe not every single team does. But what what couple
(03:25):
of things do you see that impression most about Kansas
City's defense?
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Yeah, I just I think just the way that they
fly around, honestly, all the different looks that they present,
the speed and the disguises and the pressures and and
really just the tenacity that they play with. And uh,
it just you could just tell that they they're just
a very confident group. Uh and uh and you know
(03:50):
coach uh, you know Spags, he draws up a lot
of different crazy things and it's it's a headache sometimes
to be able to decipher and see and break down.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
I'm in the moment on the field.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
So yeah, they got a great system over there, And
you know, this week is probably the biggest preparational week
that we've had as far as we're trying to prepare
for all the things that they do.
Speaker 5 (04:13):
You know, you guys get to go up against the
best of the best in practice every day. Do you
think that prepares you for games like this a little
bit better?
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Oh yeah, no doubt, even even just going against those
guys all training camp and and you know, whenever we
do have compete periods here in practice, we definitely never
take that opportunity lightly because you know we do get
the practice against the best and obviously on in South Desion,
So yeah, we definitely try to take advantage of that.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Evan Ingram joining us last one for me.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
You guys had a mini buy here and a lot
has been covered about the kind of grueling schedule to
start the year, including a trip out to London, no
bye week afterwards. Did the many buy maybe help give
you guys a bit of a reset here before you
hit the final stretch of games?
Speaker 3 (05:00):
For sure, anytime you can get some some good time
off after a good win and a good a good
ten weeks first ten weeks to the season, uh.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
It's definitely. It's definitely good for the for.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
The body and the mind. Uh. But you know, like
I said, we have great leadership here, a lot of
great professionals that know how to have know how to
have the right time off and then you know, come
back to work. Ready to go, so definitely was. It
was a great break this weekend and uh looking forward
to getting after it, getting back after it.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Awesome.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Evan, thank you so much for the time. Really appreciate you.
Best of luck on Sunday and for the remainder of
the year.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Man yep, thank you guys. Thanks Evan, all right, Evan
Ingram
