Speaker 1 (00:00):
Snap placement kick on the way, and it is good.
They don't block this one like last year in Kansas City,
and on the final play of the game, the Denver
Broncos have beaten the Kansas City Chiefs by a final
(00:21):
score of twenty two to nineteen. I was thinking it,
and I'm sure if you're listening to the game, you
might have been thinking it too. As he lined up
did Will Lutz for a thirty five yard field goal.
I thought the same thing last year in Kansas City,
thirty five yarder. This is a no brainer, but I
fought the urge really to allow myself to completely think that.
(00:43):
Not this year. Chiefs don't get to block. Will Lutz
is perfect. He's five for five in the game, and
the Broncos offense really comes to life. Bon Nicks showing
up in a big way, I thought, against a really
good defense today and the Broncos went it twenty two
to nineteen. The Chargers lose today, obviously, the Chiefs lose here,
(01:04):
and so the Broncos able to extend that lead in
the AFC West. By the way, the performance of the
game today is Jaqwan McMillan six tackles, two sacks, and
a huge interception as the Chiefs had taken the opening
kickoff of the third quarter, driven all the way down
into deep Endo Broncos territory McMillan with the I int
(01:26):
and that stopped any opportunity for the Chiefs to score.
The performance of the game is presented by Shop BMW.
Just like the Broncos, a BMW plays in any weather
with industry leading ex drive all wheel drive technology. The
lineup of BMWSAV vehicles is the most Colorado capable vehicle
lineup and the only place I trust with my VMW
(01:46):
is shomp and you should too. Shop BMW one price,
one person, one hour. Broncos seventy two and one score
games this season. Two that's a big number. I'll remind you.
Last year they were one and six and the Chiefs
this year now ozero to five in one score games
and a lot of these games in the NFL come
(02:08):
down to one score. And the Broncos have been so
good this season. And let's not forget the two early
in the season that they lost on the last play
of the game. Both of those one score games, they
could have easily won one or both of those. So
Denver Broncos with the bye week coming up, gotta be
feeling pretty darn good about themselves. Got a chance to
(02:29):
rest up, heel up, and get ready for the playoff push.
And as I mentioned, with the Chargers losing today, they
lost big, I mean losses loss, but they were hammered
in Jacksonville, Denver. Now at nine to two, they have
a full two game lead over the field. The Chargers
are seven and four, the Chiefs are third at five
and five, so that's a three and a half game
(02:51):
lead in the lost column. Chiefs have played one less game,
but still they have five losses to the Broncos. Two
certainly worked out in a favorable way for the Broncos today,
nine six to nine. Oh, exhilarating win. But Roley Moss
draw on all these big PI calls is a real problem.
(03:12):
The second one, I think you can make that call.
I think there's hand fighting going on. Hollywood Brown tries
to come back on an underthrow deep route and there
was to me enough hand fighting that you're you're probably
gonna throw the flag. The first one, no way is
that a pass interference call, at least in my opinion,
(03:36):
nine five eight to oh, Thank goodness. The defense showed
up today, if only the offense could be good too.
I actually thought the offense was better today, so did I.
I mean, I don't need to remind you the last
time here. They scored ten points against the Raiders, twenty
two points today against a much better defense in Kansas
City than what Las Vegas has. Three and forty two
(03:57):
total net yards offensively, no turnovers. They had their share
of penalties. Each team had ten penalties, which really hurt
the Broncos, especially the ones that they committed on the
pis that we talked about. Those were the big ones.
But yeah, I thought the Broncos offense showed up today.
Defense showed up like they always do. Yeah, this is
(04:17):
a big win. Of the three phases we talked about
the importance of winning at least two of them here
at home. Certainly the defense, I think the offense played
winning football today and special teams for sure. The Broncos
had one hundred and seventeen yards of return yardage in
this game. The Chiefs had nineteen. Will Lutz kicked off
today six times, and five of those were not returned
(04:41):
past the thirty So the coverage units for the Broncos
very good as well. Two on four, eight, nine to two.
Special teams really made the difference this time, just refreshed
that where did it go? I don't know. Seven oh three, five,
(05:02):
nine to five. Day you said the game is going
to come down to a turnover. McMillan's interception and ninety
yard touchdown drive was a difference. Great broadcast as always. Yeah,
that was a huge, huge moment. I mean the turnover
stops Kansas City from from getting points to open the
third quarter, and of course at halftime we were tied
at six seven one nine four sixty four. That was
(05:26):
a better team compared to last week. Well deserved when
well played. I completely agree, completely agree, Not only that
a desperate team coming in and a team that, with
Andy Reid as the head coach after a bye week
almost unbeatable. Uh seven oh six, seven to sixty one.
(05:48):
We can talk all night about the last minute bailouts.
Fact is this doesn't work forever, and the reality is
no go Bo and Peyton have shown little other than
the occasional bow ball success and seeing Peyton's coaching not improving,
mediocre performance and penalty plague. I'll say, too many penalties
for sure. Why not bring VJ on to talk about
his defense because he's not allowed to. You know, we can't.
(06:09):
We don't have access to him after the game, Otherwise
we would the Peyton Rhetorick is getting old, nothing new,
No improvement is coaching. Only exceptional d has kept him competitive.
I agree about the exceptional defense, but I do think
you're you're underestimating what the Broncos offense was able to
do against the defense. Listen, Kansas City came into this
game fourth in the league in points allowed per game.
(06:33):
That's the top five defense. They gave up an average
of under like seventeen point whatever, it was, five or six,
and so it was going to be one of those
one of those games. I think you had to play
it this way if you're the Broncos. They had they had.
I mean, this was a team that couldn't put together
a drive against the Raiders and against the Chiefs they
(06:53):
had a sixteen excuse me, they had a fourteen play
fifty four yard drive to open the scoring. They had
an eleven play eighty nine yard drive for a touchdown.
They had an eight play sixty yard drive, and then
to close the game out in a tie game, they
had a ten play fifty eight yard drive that used
every single second of the clock. So to me, the offense,
(07:17):
I mean they've made great improvement this week against the
better team. Yeah, this is a good Chiefs defense. Their
last four games coming into this one, they held opponents
to just about eleven points per game. But Bronco's scoring
twenty two here tonight to win the game on that
last second field goal by Will Lutt. I think the
offense played much much better tonight seven to two oh
(07:40):
five to six ozero. Good for Bowie out played fifteen
yet again, but one hundred and fifty seven pennalty yards
is inexcusable, even if the refs play for the Chiefs. Yeah,
of that one to fifty seven, two of those long
yardage situations pis against Riley Moss. Here's coach Sean Payton
in his postgame press conference.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
And I say this was efecfully for the first time
since I've been here, really loud, and I think that helped.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Man.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
We did a lot of things well. Special teams came up.
I mean Frank Crumb gets a pat block field position.
I felt like we played on their end of the
field and one of the keys. We felt these guys
have really all seasoned. The last four weeks have really
(08:27):
been flipping the script and playing on the opponent's side
of the field. So there'll be some things obviously we
want to clean up. Guys will be out of here
for a while and then we get ready to go
for I don't know, a Sunday night game here in
a couple of weeks. So any questions sean.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Given the way the game in Kansasity ended it last year,
I mean, Will's trotten out there. It's the same distance,
thirty five for five.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
He hit a great night.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
What is it?
Speaker 4 (08:55):
I mean, the confident, the number of big kicks he's
made this year.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
I saw it in New Orleans. That's why he's here.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Coach here left bow, especially on that last drive at
the one that sudden outstanding.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
How did he perform tonight?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Kind of a big I think, real, well, he won,
it's his job.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
He won, and against a pretty stingy defense that can
give you problems, you know, we uh yeah, there were
some big plays there and uh you know, we had
some early field position in the first half, and I'm like, man,
(09:34):
there's a couple of those field goals. One of them
just needed to be a touchdown. But I felt at halftime.
I felt at halftime good about where we were relative
to the matchup of our defense and their offense, their
early start, first fifteen type team, and I felt like,
you know, aside from some of the penalties, you know,
(09:57):
we did a good job in all three phases.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
On the defensive side, Jae Kwon came up big two sacks.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Two sacks, interception, all of the game.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Outstanding, big m.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
It's a good win.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
Coach, what is it about these spots? You got no certain,
no single to no dobbins. Through your career, you've had
an ability and knack to get teams to play their
best one. People don't think, yeah, I don't have much
of it.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
I think, look, it's not me, it's it's it's it's
training your culture. You know this Nick Saban quote about
toughness really not necessarily physical, but you know the mental
and how much you can take and he likened it
(10:43):
to hurricane windows. You can get the one thirty nine's,
the one fifties or the one eighty nines. Obviously that
if you go up, they cost more. So I went
through that same thing with the beach House, and it's
fined in and sometimes you got to pass on something
(11:05):
that might look.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Attractive.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
But it's fine in those guys that can tune out
the noise. And there's been a lot of noise, like
a lot of just I won't comment on it, but anyway.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
And I hear some of the narratives and I just
want to like.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Cry, But anyway, it is what it is. That's that's
your jobs. But our jobs are to focus on the
winds and to focus on there's one way when each
game and the players deserve a chance uh to have that,
and so sometimes that can vary. But in a game
(11:46):
where you know a lot of guys were banged up
and they were fully healthy, it's a big one Sean.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
And going back, you know, he esked about jamact, but
your whole defense, what can you say about their effort today.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
That was looking significant? It just the intensity.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
You know, we talked about all week being in a
position where and I I heard Bill Cower in the
pregame show was saying that, hey, we're playing with house money,
and I was like, be quiet, you know, because we
we approached that game like this team had nothing to
lose in that game. That team we were playing was
(12:21):
playing for a lot, and I wanted to make sure
we were aggressive. We were going to take the ball
if we won the toss. Well, we didn't win the toss,
but we got the ball. But it was you know,
we were we were playing in a game where the
pressure was on them and uh and our guys responded, well.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Sean, what can you say to us about JK. Dobbins's
injured situation?
Speaker 3 (12:48):
And a few updates. I'll keep you posting. Is he
out for the seasonal updates? I'll keep you postka and
then just next question, then game to next question.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Your thoughts on the running game?
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Thought it was good, good enough?
Speaker 6 (12:59):
Yeah, se along the same lines what you were talking
about just when you got here.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
The Chiefs are king.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
I mean they had mahomes for fifteen more more.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
But look if you go back and all of us
were there.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
We had a Thursday night game, was the first time
we played them, and we defensively played them really well.
On that Thursday night game. We were awful on offense
and we had a poor plan. Then we played them
at home and we took the ball away five times
(13:32):
and had a decisive win. So we were split with
them at that point. Last year, obviously the last game
of the season was a different game. I think this.
I think that loss in Kansas City was where the
one to eighty nine miles per hour was tested, and
that was a tough, gut wrenching loss. But I think
(13:53):
there was a feeling, and if you look at our
record from that loss, there was.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
A feeling that.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
You know, we belong here and and so and I think, listen,
there's either wins or losses. But the response after that
game last year with the block field goal, you know,
was was super and and so there was some irony
(14:28):
obviously when we were taking a knee to kick the
field goal. But I just you know, I think that
that confidence thing that we always talk about exists in
that locker room with these this group of guys.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
It's special and so.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
You know they'll have some time to recover and then
get ready for that next stretch of six games. I
think we're three home, three away, if I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Sean that the third quarter touchdown drive just looks like
it looked like you guys are moving quicker a little
bit more.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Of the temple question. Let's go, what do you called?
Speaker 4 (15:08):
Did did you did you run? Did you did you
go more?
Speaker 2 (15:11):
No, there were two, there were two, There were three plays.
Basically we tempoed one. I felt sometimes you hurry to
beat maybe a challenge. And so anyway, next question.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
In your experience with championship teams, do you need this
the kind of battle wins that you've had to get
to this point.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
I think there's a journey that if you.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
If you tracked any championship team, I think you would find,
you know, the the tough wins, the close ones, the
you start doing the math with it. I can recall
a number of our better teams, you know, holy cow,
devastating losses and yet rebounding that nine super Bowl team.
(16:01):
We lost the last three games of the regular season.
We lost to Dallas, then we lost an overtime to Tampa.
But then we had the one seat sat our starters.
Everyone was up in arms. You can't we had the
one seat, and I felt we needed to rest, and
then we went on. And so I think, and you
guys have covered this game long enough, you could pick
(16:22):
seasons and and there's gonna be those heavy wins.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
We'll get back and hear more from head coach Sean Payton.
But Susie Warrigen standing by with Jonathan Cooper.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Look at are you ready?
Speaker 4 (16:41):
You're ready?
Speaker 7 (16:42):
And that's a very happy locker room. This is the happiest.
It's been the happiest that I've ever seen you in
one since you've been here.
Speaker 5 (16:48):
Yeah, for real.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
I mean, I'm just so proud of everybody.
Speaker 8 (16:50):
Man.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
I mean, when we played together as a team, man like,
I'm gonna stand on what we're saying. Bless you, We're
gonna stay We're gonna stay own business like the best team,
best team, best defense, best team, best offense. Like there's
nothing we can't do. There's nothing we can't do. We
can only beat ourselves. And as long as we come
out and execute player that energy, that swag, that that
(17:11):
juice that we have play together, you know, we're really
tough team.
Speaker 7 (17:16):
Every week it seems like somebody else comes up. Today
it's j Max get he gets the two sacks and
gets the pick too. I mean, it's just crazy.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Yeah, shout out to j Max.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
Man, Uh, came up huge, came up huge, and yeah
we needed them, so man, shout out to him.
Speaker 7 (17:31):
And then how about the offense. They've been getting the
shaft from everybody. It seems like and granted there's still
some room to grow, especially in the running game, but
they did better too.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
No, shout out to the offense man. They kept us inate.
You know, they fall to the end. We knew it
was gonna be a fourth quarter battle and then we
just finished. You know, we're really figuring out how to finish,
really figuring out how to win these games.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
And we's gotta keep this momentum going.
Speaker 7 (17:53):
And will LUTs is pretty money, huh.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
Will Nuts got some got some big ones on them
with his nickname and everything.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
That's the show.
Speaker 7 (18:01):
All right, thanks, you appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 9 (18:02):
Thanks day, backup to you.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Oh I don't know that I want that. Thank you.
Susie Denver wins at twenty two to nineteen shout out
to Will. Let's we'll take a time out. Let's let's
pause ten seconds so the station's can identify themselves. That's
coming up next on the Kowai Broncos Radio Network Broncos
sheeps on the official home of the Denver Broncos koa
(18:27):
Denver Tate fifty AM.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
Ninety four to one FM.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
Back in the power field at mile High. It is
over in the Broncos and found a way to beat
the Chiefs here in Denver. Twenty two to nineteen is
the final score, seven to two, four to three one
on the text line, who are the so called Bronco
fans who are complaining after the biggest win in ten years?
Too many penalties? But the game plan was executed to perfection.
(18:55):
That's how you beat that guy. Kick the field goal
as time expires. Nine and two means nine and two.
Thank you, Matt. Yeah, I mean, listen, you're you're gonna
have differences of opinions, and fans are gonna be frustrated
one week and love them the next week. And that's
sort of the nature of the NFL. But in this game,
I thought the defense was terrific, special teams equally proficient,
(19:21):
and the Broncos offense made enough big plays. What did
they what did they throw the ball for? Rick? Again?
What was Nicks? Nicks? Twenty four? Okay, zero touchdown, zero pick. Yeah,
that's and and des Demmer didn't turn the ball over. Yeah,
that's those are good numbers right there. Bo Nicks I
(19:43):
thought looked much much it I agree today. I agree.
I thought he took a couple of very large steps forward. No, uh,
no question about that. Do you have another interview? We
have one more minute. We have an interview in the
locker room. That that we'll get you to. Lutz, by
(20:03):
the way, with the game winner as time expired. That's
the third time that he has done that this year.
He made against the Giants a thirty nine yarder and
what turned out to be the final play of the game.
He made a thirty four yarder against Houston on what
turned out to be the final play of the game,
and now today a thirty five yarder against Kansas City.
(20:25):
It is the tenth time in Broncos history that a
Denver kicker has had five field goals, and of those ten,
three belonged to Lutz. Jason Elam, the great kicker of yesteryear,
he had five field goals in three games as well,
and of course Brandon McManus back in twenty twenty in
(20:50):
a game in New England, had six field goals to
hold the Broncos record. But will Lutz, I mean the
last one of thirty five yards obviously was the game winner,
but the one he made with just a little over
four minutes to go from fifty four yards out, that
tied the game. That you talk about a money kick. Yeah,
really that was the difference. That was a money kick,
(21:11):
and Will Lutts has been money this season. Let's see
seven one, nine four three one, no ps two, no Dobbins,
no Singleton, no problem. This team has grit and I
like our chances this year nine seven, four to two four.
Our power went out when it was thirteen to six.
(21:34):
It came back in time for the game winning field
goal nine to two. Look out, Dave, the storm is
headed your way. Go Broncos. Okay, three to one oh eight,
four to four. Never heard of a head coach be
so snappy with the press after a win. Peyton does
it all the time. Three seven or nine. Come on,
(22:01):
Bronco fans. I live in Kansas City, listened to this
chief crap for nine years running. Yes, too many penalties,
but smell the roses for a minute. Go Broncos. What
a call to Dave and Rick. You two are the
classes there is. Thank you, We appreciate you. Uh three
oh three five two one. I wonder what the wet
blanket has to say about us beating the Chiefs. Let's
sit down the locker room and a guy who was
(22:22):
really instrumental in this one. Susie Warden standing by with
Jakwon McMillan.
Speaker 7 (22:26):
Yeah, thanks Dave. So Jakwan, you get the two sacks,
you get the pick that turns into Julil's touchdown. What
was going on with you today? It's always somebody that
steps up, and today was your day.
Speaker 10 (22:36):
Yeah, man, I knew it was time. You know, I
just been doing the same thing over and over. You know,
we all make plays, you know, like you said, it
was just my time, and I just went out there
and gave him my all like I do every week,
and I just made it plays that came to me.
Speaker 7 (22:52):
And you picked a good game to do it, because
this was the big one. You get the Chiefs, which
is one of those ones that's always circled on the calendar,
and now this really helps control all the destination for
the AFC West and the division.
Speaker 10 (23:02):
Yeah, they've been on the top for a while, so
you know, for us to take that next step as
a team, we knew we had to go through them.
So we all believed. We worked hard all week. You know,
we wanted we all wanted this game bad, and we
just played for each other. We didn't let each other down,
just kept fighting and we got to win.
Speaker 7 (23:21):
And even dealing with injuries, Alex is out, PS two
is out. They both had the headsets on today's GM
has had a couple extra coaches there on the sideline
with them. But you guys adapt and still thrive with
this defense.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Yeah, next man up.
Speaker 10 (23:33):
And uh, those guys that came in KD and Jaday
he came in and played Skirnad came in and played
Mike defense exactly. All guys stepped up. So you know,
that's that's the that's the name of the game. You know,
guys go down. We got to have their back and
take that next Uh, like I said, be ready to play.
Speaker 7 (23:57):
You ready for the buy a week?
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Oh yeah, definitely.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
All right, go enjoy a good job today, all right,
Dave back up.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
To you, Okay, Susie, thank you. So the the Broncos
win today. Just looking at some of these other other
scores around the league. So New England got a win
on Thursday night. They're nine and two as well. Buffalo
with a win today at home against Tampa. They're seven
(24:24):
and three in the AFC North. The Steelers get to
win today. They lead the AFC North. They are six
and four. Baltimore, where they come from behind win today,
they are five and five. Indianapolis is eight and two
in the AFC South. They lead that division, the Chargers
losing today to Jacksonville, so the Jags are six and
(24:46):
four in second place in the South. And then Denver,
of course, with a nine and two mark and a
two game lead in the AFC West. Chargers drop one
today in Jacksonville, so they're seven and four. Chiefs lose here,
they're five and five, and the Raiders, I believe, play
Monday night. So right now, the Broncos have the best record.
They're tied with New England for the best record in
(25:07):
the AFC and the best record those two teams have
the best record in the National Football League, so plenty
of work to get done. I know the bye week's
coming up, but I don't think it's too early to
start thinking about, you know, what does this team need
to do to not only win the West, but to
secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs. I mean, there's
(25:30):
a big difference in playing here in Denver in what
could be a championship kind of game, as opposed to
going to Foxborough and playing in New England. I don't
think this team has played their best football yet and
they're nine to two, so I do think the offense
will make some progress through December, get better. Then you
(25:54):
really have something. If they can do that on the
offensive side of the ball going into the postseason, we
really have something with this team because this defense is
so good. The Broncos with us win today fourteen and
four in the last eighteen regular season games, so it's
been a great run, no question about that. The injury
(26:15):
report today presented by Common Spirit Health, the official healthcare
partner of the Denver Broncos. No injuries to report. I
can also tell you that the radio broadcast today is
copyrighted by the Denver Broncos Football Club and the National

is on your side. Berg Simpson Good Lawyers, Changing lives
down to the locker room and talk with the starting
quarterback of the Broncos. Bow Knicks Bow It's Dave Logan, congratulations,
hard fought game. It seemed like you guys on that
(26:58):
first drive just seemed to be different. You have to
settle for a field goal, but it was a what
was it like, a fourteen play fifty four yard drive.
You got things going early. Couple of huge third down
conversions as well.
Speaker 11 (27:12):
Yeah, we threw the ball early. We did a good
job of kind of spread them out, throwing the football completions,
just moving them laterally. And then our guys did well
on third downs and you can, you know, completed a
few and that third down we knew was going to
be the name of the game. And you know, we
did well on third down starting at the beginning of
(27:34):
the game and leading all the way to the end game.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
Your first drive in the second half, after the interception,
there was a I think block in the back, so
you start on your eleven. You have an eighty nine
yard drive in a tie game. Eleven plays in over
six minutes. I mean, it just seemed like that that
drive sort of set the tone for a really competitive
second half against a good team.
Speaker 11 (27:58):
Yeah, that just kind of got it going again, and
you know, we used some tempo and got to the
ball and we did a good job of again throwing it.
You know, I'm kind of down the field and starting
on mine. I think overall, that's.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
You know, what we're good at.
Speaker 12 (28:10):
When we get going and we get you know, moving.
Speaker 11 (28:12):
Pretty quick, and the defense gets a little tired on
the drive, they can't rush as good and they can't
get all their calls in because they're just having to
hurry up. So against the defense like that that likes
the pressure, I think, you know, some tempo goes a
long way.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
I'll get you out of here with this. I mean,
you get the ball back four minutes and change on
your own twenty six, you get a holding call. It's
third and fifteen, and I in in hindsight, I've called
this so far the play of the year. You step
up and you you're flushed right throwing the run and
Court goes down and makes the catch. Walk us through
that play a little bit, and what what you saw.
Speaker 11 (28:48):
Well, they played a two man and they got out
there on the indcut, and they did a good job
of playing underneath Court. But he immediately saw me move
and he just kind of readjusted and went back out
and it was a deep income and he was already
passing the first down marker. But on a play like that,
it's sort of like, you know, where's fourteen, where's our
guy at? They can go make a play against anybody,
(29:09):
any coverage. And he was just you know, at this point,
it's like second nature for me and him. Just I
got out of the pocket. He immediately saw it. I
knew what he was about to do, and it's all
about throwing and catching the ball and completing it at
that point. After that, you know, it feels easy after
you get a third and fifteen.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Yeah, no doubt about that. Hey, congratulations, man, enjoy this win.
Get to get a little bit of downtime, and I'll
see you when we get back at it. Thank you.
Speaker 11 (29:36):
Yeah, I enjoyed the break.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
Appreciate it. That's Bo Nicks in the locker room. That
was a huge play. And again as he talked about
the adjustment Courtland made running a deep incut as Bo flushed,
basically rolling to his right, which was the opposite direction
the Courtland was running. The incut, you put your foot
in the ground and you trace that quarterback back the
same way he's running. Courtland did that, and the throw
(29:59):
and the catch that I mean that enabled them not
to have to punt the ball back to Patrick Mahomes
and he never saw the ball for the rest of
the game. For Patrick Mahomes, NFL throw, NFL catch by court.
As you said, that's the throw and catch of the
year right there. Yep, final comments, Rick on what you
saw only thing I could see here, Dave. The Broncos
(30:22):
are going to have to run the ball better than
what we saw today, so down the stretch they have
to figure that out without JK. Dobbins. But listen, man,
celebrate this one. They beat a desperate Chiefs team coming
in here. They had to win the game, and a
good Chiefs team too. I think you take a couple
of deep breaths, enjoy the smell of victory, enjoy the
(30:44):
bye week, and have a happy Thanksgiving everybody out there,
and we'll see you in Washington. Now we Look Ahead,
presented by College Invest. Back to school today College before
you know it, College Invests five twenty nine savings accounts,
make savings easy and qualify for a Colorado tax deduction.
Open yours before another year passes. You can do it
(31:05):
at college invest dot org. The Broncos have a bye
week coming up next weekend, and what a great time
for everybody, as Rick said, catch their breath a little bit,
get some much needed rests, hopefully get some guys back
that are nicked up a little bit before returning to action.
The next game will be Sunday, November thirtieth, a game
in the Nation's Capital against the Washington Commanders. Right now,
(31:29):
that game is scheduled to kick at six twenty Mountain
time on a Sunday night. The Broncos and the Commanders
from DC six to twenty mountain time kickoff on Sunday,
November thirtieth, then, of course, to be followed by another
road game in Las Vegas against the Raiders. That's Sunday,
December seventh, with a two h five mountain time kickoff
(31:49):
on that one. That will do it from in power
Field and mile High on an exciting day. The Broncos
find a way to beat the Chiefs and they are
nine to two on the season and the Chiefs fall
to five and five final score from a power field
at mal High in front of seventy five nine hundred
and eleven fans, Denver twenty two, Kansas City, nineteen for
(32:12):
Susie Origin. My partner Rick Lewis. I'm Dave Logan back
to the eight Kawa sports desk. Can we check in
with our Ryan Edwards.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
I appreciate it, Dave, what a win, A great call
from you guys. You know there's a moment there and
I know you talked about it the past. To Corlon
Sudden on the third and fifteen, I was such a
big play. But even like not playing for a long
field goal, like being aggressive there going to Troy Franklin,
I thought those were just two high level moments, not
only for Bonis but from the entire offense.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
You agree, I gotta tell you, I was surprised with
the Chiefs having one time out. I mean, listen, it
worked out, and sometimes you I think you have to
roll the dice in what your gut tells you at
the time. That's what you get paid to make that decision. Now,
looking back, if that balls in complete, it stops the
(32:59):
clock and Kansas that he has the time out, So big,
big throwought. I thought bo really took a couple of
positive steps in this game, much much more comfortable than
he was against the Raiders. And I honestly thought Sean
Peyton had had several creative things where you got, guys,
basically by NFL standards wide open that we had just
(33:22):
not seen in the last couple of weeks. So really
good game plan, great execution by the players, and the
Broncos are nine and two.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
The Broncos are nine and two, My friend, I can't
wait to break it down with you tomorrow at three
o'clock on k Sports. Have a great night.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Thanks Ryan, you too, I appreciate you.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Voice of the Broncos, Dave Logan, Rick Lewis Susie Warrison's
signing off from in power field at Mile High as
the Denver Broncos beat the Kansas City Chiefs twenty two
to nineteen to improve to nine and two on the season.

what do you say? What do you say of Broncos fans?
Come on now, come on now. Uh, it's been uh
been a couple of rough weeks. Talk about the vibes, right,
(34:46):
I mean, after the game against the Raiders was a win,
you didn't feel great about it, you still got that win.
And then and then you've got this one. You beat
both the Super Bowl teams. How about that, you beat
the Eagles, you beat the Chiefs in a game that
the Chiefs absolutely had to have. They're five and five.
The Chargers lost today. The Raiders are not favored now
(35:09):
though that's not really a conversation about the AFCs of
the playoffs anymore. But you're nine and two heading into
the buy and your two losses were by a combined
four points. Oh, it feels good, This feels really good.
So we again, we're on till nine o'clock tonight and
you're gonna have a chance to win a fifty dollars

actually have three of those to give away. Broncos React

Broncos Radio Network. Welcome back to Broncos React. I'm Ryan
Edwards Line from the smashburg Er Sports Test with the
new four ninety nine menu feature, the single All American Burger,
singles de Luxe Burger, and the new Americana Big Dog.
Here we go three h three someone, three eighty five,
eighty five or five six six ninety zero. Those are
the ways you can get a hold of me. Let's
(36:10):
start out with profit my wife from the stadium. What's
a prophet? You said you'd call me after a win,
and here we are.
Speaker 6 (36:18):
I did, and I told you three weeks ago that
I would call after the third week, and we would
be sitting at nine and two, and I think you
scoffed a little bit, sir.
Speaker 4 (36:33):
Let me think about that. Well, Scott, I mean, we
listen a little bit. So what are you saying you
you told me we'd be nine and two.
Speaker 6 (36:42):
I told you we would be nine and two going
into the by okay.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
All right, Well, I'll give you the flowers on that.
The fact is, though you predict them to win seventeen,
well twenty twenty games every year, so I'm optimistic. I'm optimistic,
but you you tend to beat me.
Speaker 6 (37:01):
There are times when I am being a huge Broncos
cheerleader and there are times when I'm trying to be pragmatic.
Three weeks ago, I firmly, firmly believed, in the deepest
part of my heart that we would be nine to two.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
I like it, man, now, the one thing that I
felt like And if you remember, after they lost the
Chargers game, I did say at that time they were
about to go on a run. Now, even this blew
away my expectations, but at the time, like at that time,
and you know, the feelings of Broncos country are pretty down.
They were one and two, and I said, I think
they're about to go on a pretty significant run. Now,
(37:40):
I said that the one game I thought they'd lose
was the Eagles game. They obviously won that one, and
you kind of had to have this Chiefs game. Now,
I again, the vibes coming off of the Raiders game
are what they are, right, but many this is this
is U you know bon Nick's post.
Speaker 6 (37:55):
Yeah, but but we had to look at it through
the through the proper. It was a short week, it
was against against the Raiders. We knew what we needed
to do to win, and we did exactly what we
needed to do to win, and nothing more.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
I agree, I agree, man, I agree.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
Well, all right, all right ahead.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
Somebody said I did I did scoff at you? So
I to you to the textures. I apologize that I
scoffed that you said they'd be nine and two. I
get my sheriff scoffs from Benjamin Albright, so I will.
He won't apologize for his Scotts, but I will apologize
for mine.
Speaker 6 (38:34):
All right, that you're listening, I am calling Maytag tomorrow
and we're going to figure out a way to get
a repair man parked at your door for the rest
of the season. No more wet blankets.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
Well said, good to hear you from your friend. And
I'm sure you're gonna have a great night. We're all
gonna have a great night. Three or three seven, three
eighty five, eighty five. Ian, You're next year on Broncos
react with Ryan Edwards.
Speaker 13 (38:58):
What's up in Hey, guys, love the show.
Speaker 9 (39:01):
Ryan, You're good. I was always I'm not here to
complain of the rafts. I'm not here to complain about uh,
you know, the kikky tackle we had to pick six
they got called back on, probably the most egregious kiky
tack caller saying he had a sixty eight yard part
return called back on a very hicky tack call. So
the Chiefs, the Chiefs got there the normal, the norm.
(39:24):
It's always the Chiefs with the raft. So I'm not
here to talk about that. I'm here to talk about
bone Nicks third and fifteen backed up throwing a dime
to Courtland Sutton. You're here to talk about bow Nick
throwing a dime to Troy Flankert. Toroy Flankert.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
We Bo was just.
Speaker 9 (39:42):
Uh, everyone wants to you know, it's justin Herbert. You
know Justin Herbert do whatever he wants, but we we
no one ever talks about him in the national media
is failing and failing and failing. They want to focus
on Bo. What's Bo's record as a starter. I'd love
to I actually, I do know. He's nine two this year,
he's ten and eight last year, and that's.
Speaker 4 (40:04):
What he's pretty dam yeah, nineteen and nine.
Speaker 9 (40:09):
So I'll take him.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
I will.
Speaker 9 (40:12):
And we got a poach Sean Payton, of course, and
we got a new stadium with our owners. We got
a new turf for the rest. I just I'm very
extact about today's victory. And the Chiefs got every call
they could possibly get and they still lost. So I'm sorry,
I can't see. Well, we'll see you hopefully you guys
make a wild card. But Broncos Division Champs here week come.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
Thank you guys, love it man, appreciate us. Good stuff
for I in five six six nine zero care We
comis frudel text line. Congratulations, you're a mile high profit.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
Nice.
Speaker 4 (40:44):
That's good, great win. Why was Sean Payton so testing
with the press, Probably because this has been like we
talked about the vibes, The vies were tough around this team.
So I don't know what else to say. He's testy anyways,
but maybe this was a all right, you guys, you
guys doubted me. Now what text line has been? Okay?
Ben's reeling a little bit because and he wants so
(41:08):
if you want to do something nice for Ben, because
he's really feeling his though he's not getting the flowers
even though he again laughed at the idea that the
Broncos would win this game. You can send him a
tweet at Albright NFL and let him know that he
might have had a point about Julia McLoughlin's role. He
said he was going to be the lead back. He
didn't end up being the lead back. In fact, R. J.
(41:30):
Harvey out touched him eleven to six on the ground,
but Ben felt that way. So if you want to
give him some love on that, he'd feel probably a
little better because his chief's lost five six, six night zero.
Am I being hyperbolic calling this the biggest win since
the Super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (41:45):
Ryan?
Speaker 4 (41:46):
I can't think of any any that meant more, both
symbolically and in the standings. From Matt it's got to
be up there, you know again, You also, I don't
want to be hyperbolic either, but it just feels like
under the circumstances knowing what the Chiefs were playing for,
or and knowing what you were playing for too heading
into your bye week, it is a really big deal,
no doubt about it.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
All.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
Right back to the phones we go and TJ, you're
up next year on Broncos reck. What's up, TJ?
Speaker 12 (42:13):
What's the boys that you doing?
Speaker 4 (42:14):
How you feeling so good? So so good?
Speaker 12 (42:17):
Oh man, it was about to be two bad weeks
if this didn't go right, because I'm really immature and
that the winner loss was gonna affect how I how
my next two weeks went. I'll tell you what, Nick
Wright at ESPN can dang stick it, dude, because he
didn't believe in anything, you know. I'll tell you what
I think. As much as I give Sean Payton, heck,
I think he's doing it right because you got guys
(42:39):
like Vince Young, JaMarcus Russell and even Jaydon Daniels. These
dudes come out, they let him run, They let him
do the rookie stuff and make the big plays with
their legs and playoff off schedule. He's trying to build
a quarterback that's going to be a quarterback for the
next you know, ten to fifteen years. That's going to
know how to play the game. And I think that
is stinking awesome there. But hey, the intestina four to
(43:00):
these guys come out there and uh get past the
uh the pick six that they called Moss from across
the field on a dang call that happens every play,
the PI on Moss. I mean, they got it out
for that dude in the Harvey. They blew the whistle
way too early. That was that was a touchdown for
Harvey if they wouldn't have called, uh blew the whistle early,
you know, and they let those those uh rugby scrums
(43:21):
go for two to three seconds. But hey, regardless, we
got the dub and uh man, we beat him with Russ.
We beat him twice last year. And I don't care
if they call that blockfield goal that you know we
have the ability to win. Man, it is just a
stinking mindset and we got it. And hey, shout out
to our and N Broadcasting and uh man, it was
(43:44):
a game and two weeks gonna be a good two
weeks brought.
Speaker 4 (43:47):
Yes, it is appreciate you TJ. Good stuff. As always
three h three five to Sean up next year on
Broncos reac what's up to Sean?
Speaker 14 (43:56):
We move and known up, dude, he's here we go
kind of get a big up. He's the Broncos. Hey, Ryan, Hey,
we talked about We talked all week, Bro about how
this this game was gonna be a statement game and
it was Bro. We playing my homes hard Bro every year.
(44:19):
And now Bro, we can go toe to toe with anybody.
Speaker 5 (44:21):
Bro.
Speaker 14 (44:21):
I got confidence now that that our quarterback can finished
games like he just did. Like you know that he
cannot turn the ball over, play smart football. He ain't perfect, man,
he means, but he made the play when he had
to make the play. That, Ryan, that ability in this
game of football is scary. That's scary. People don't want
to play. Brady used to have that, Ryan, Hey, Manny
(44:42):
used to have that in the fourth. You know, like
that that ability to to to make the right play
in the fourth is a scary thing. Broncos we nine
to two, Baby, who who?
Speaker 12 (44:51):
Man?
Speaker 14 (44:52):
Who got it better than us? Nobody? I don't care
if Jim Hardball said, were saying.
Speaker 11 (44:55):
It all right?
Speaker 6 (44:56):
All right?
Speaker 4 (44:56):
Ryn, Hey, appreciate you man. Good singing there by the way, DeShawn,
that was great. That was great. Yeah, nobody got it.
Nobody has a better. In fact, the Broncos are with
the tie breakers, are number one in the AFC right now.
They're ahead of the Patriots. The Colts are on by
number one, number one after week eleven in the AFC.
(45:17):
Who feels good? Man feels really good?
Speaker 1 (45:20):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (45:20):
Kyle up next year on Broncos. Ree if we'll get
back to the text one a second. What's up, Kyle?
Speaker 1 (45:33):
How you doing? Kyle?
Speaker 13 (45:36):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (45:36):
I'm on top of a war.
Speaker 8 (45:38):
Ain't nobody in the world won't be happier than me
through a Broncos win.
Speaker 12 (45:43):
Let's go.
Speaker 8 (45:44):
Let's go, Ricky hear it. Let the nick White in
the world share it.
Speaker 13 (45:49):
Bring on.
Speaker 8 (45:51):
I want the NFL's best. I want all the criticisms.
Speaker 6 (45:55):
I want every team.
Speaker 8 (45:57):
This team is nine and two, looking at the best
record in the NFL, and just we can go toe
to toe with them against anybody. So you know, like
I didn't even have the same pregame ERTs, We didn't
have a punkin spies or anything. You know, we don't
even need.
Speaker 12 (46:13):
To be superstitious. We just need to this.
Speaker 13 (46:16):
We could win. We don't need to have anything.
Speaker 8 (46:19):
I mean, I still t bo. He is still on
the field. He's gonna be on the field forever because
that's you know, this is who he is and like,
well this wins like this man just in perpetual, like
on the season and everything is feels good, Ryan, So
what else can I say but go Broncos.
Speaker 12 (46:38):
Baby know next week.
Speaker 8 (46:40):
Making one and making want to know this week, making
wan to know next week, want to.
Speaker 12 (46:44):
Know after that, Baby keep.
Speaker 4 (46:45):
Winning, want to win, to win, Kyle, thank you for
the call, man, I appreciate it. On the text line, Hey, Ryan,
great win for the Broncos. If you watch the game
on TV, it seemed like Sean Payton was really grumpy
on the sidelines as well. He was yelling at everybody.
So maybe he didn't get his pumpkin spice a lot
day today. Yeah, I didn't watch a little bit of that.
It's uh hey, a lot of penalties, well, I mean
that's that is something that's got to get cleaned up.
(47:06):
I mean, you knew there was gonna be a lot
of penalties against the Chiefs. You knew there was gonna
be some bad calls going against the Broncos. They hung
in there. Ten penalties for one hundred and forty seven yards,
two of them forty and a forty six yards, if
I believe to Riley Moss. One of them was well earned,
really bad. The other one I thought was close. The
first one I thought was close. The second one, though,
(47:27):
is was definitely him and he's got to be better,
gotta be much better. Seven for fifteen on third down,
time of possession was dead even it's a really good win. Yeah,
and there's gonna be some blocks score people that bonus
didn't throw a touchdown. I don't care till are ninety
five passing twenty four for thirty seven. There was a
good win. It's a really good win. JK. Dobbins down,
(47:51):
Passer Tan down, Alex Singleton, Nate Atkins down. Come on,
Broncos Country, let's go.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
Praying.
Speaker 4 (48:01):
Actually got Joe. Joe's next. Joe leaving the game.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
What's up?
Speaker 14 (48:03):
Joe?
Speaker 8 (48:04):
Hey?
Speaker 13 (48:04):
Are you doing tonight?
Speaker 8 (48:06):
Joe?
Speaker 13 (48:06):
Will be a call from I usually give you a
call from South Dakota. But I'm glad we were down
here on a beautiful November eight. I watched some Bronco football. Hey,
I just wanted to throw a couple of things out there.
Speaker 7 (48:15):
You know.
Speaker 13 (48:15):
I know that everybody's been crucifying coach Payton, and you know,
just kind of the offense at times looking anemic. But
I will tell you this, I mean, I just wholeheartedly
think that he recognizes that we really have the best
defense in the league, and I think he plays it
close to the desk because you know, if we play
field position football, don't turn it over and make the
(48:38):
other team drive the length of the field, the defense
will make enough place to keep us in a game.
And if you look at it, obviously, other than the bad,
terrible call to end the Colts game that gave them
in a second chance to the game winning field goal,
still a game that I really think that we realistically
lost was the Chargers game, you know, and even that
took a last second field His team is playing the
(48:59):
school coach puts out there, and I think people overlook
that and they just want to be angry because they
want to see, you know, thirty eight to ten every
time we play, and we can win with defense. Anybody
that was here in twenty fifteen knows that. And the
best part of it is we haven't even hit our
stride yet. Yep, and we're getting a bunch of guys back.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
The AFC is.
Speaker 14 (49:17):
Going to run through year.
Speaker 3 (49:17):
I'm telling you perfect.
Speaker 8 (49:19):
So let me talk to you man.
Speaker 4 (49:20):
You yeah, man, drive safe. It's good to hear from you. Joe.
Glad you got to see the game in person. Yeah,
that's right, the game. They really haven't played their best
football just yet. Not not complete. This was this was close.
This club is the penalties, man, that's that's something that's
got to get cleaned up, no doubt about it. But
everything else, I mean, so many good things and again
(49:42):
you're missing. You're missing so many key players, and you're
about to get healthier. My goodness, my goodness. Three out
three seOne, three eighty five, eighty five, five six six
nine zeros or KWA commas sperit health text line. We're
on to nine o'clock. Keep calling, keep texting, we'll get
to all of it. Let me read a couple of
text as we're heading to break here bench Riley Moss. No,
we're not doing that. Shout out to Frank Crumb, game changer.
(50:05):
Go Cowboys. Yeah you know that is. It deserves a
good go Cowboys. I'm with you on that. Had the
blocked extra point. I'm a ram, I'm a ram, and
I'm gonna give you that one, all right, you get one,
just like Spider Man says Ryan bow Is. This team,
John Elway, the fourth quarter is his as from Jerry.
(50:25):
Let's see here, it's twenty fourteen again with the Broncos
and Patriots on top of the AFC. Yeah, I know
it's kind of weird, right and the Colts the Colts
being good. Yeah, it is kind of weird.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (50:36):

slow a little bit of the he maybe he's not
the guy, nonsense, maybe for just a temporary amount of time.
Speaker 1 (51:19):
It is.
Speaker 4 (51:19):
