Speaker 1 (00:00):
Set out to the Kawa Commas Spurt Health Hotline and
bring on Jake Kwan McMillan joining us here with Dave Logan,
Ryan Edwards and Nick Ferguson.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
How are you? I'm good? How are you?
Speaker 3 (00:09):
We're doing good? Jake one. Uh, appreciate the time. So
what's up with with Thanksgiving?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
How will you? How will you enjoy tomorrow?
Speaker 3 (00:17):
And uh, what's it looked like for you and your
family if they're here or whatever?
Speaker 4 (00:23):
Usually we fly I fly my family out, but not
this year. So I'm probably going to a few teammates
house to do some friends given and you just from
enjoygia time with them, my friends and you know, my
girlfriend and my daughter, and uh, what did you anna
do that this year? Well?
Speaker 5 (00:39):
Jack Kawan, I saw you in Trennie Camp uh the summer,
and I told you I like the way that you
played the game and played the nickel position and.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
The dog in you.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
But without giving away too many trade secrets, what is
kind of the mental mindset when you get that call
from the sideline and Vance Joseph is calling your number
and you know that you're going to be that player
coming on the blitz.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
You know, I just love Russian, you know, going out
to the quarterback and a lot of times some guys
don't know I'm coming, so I end up coming free.
So uh man, I just go in there with the
mentality of going going to make a play, whether it's
in the run game they run the ball or in
the past game. But I just want to go in
there and go in the backfield and make mess stuff up.
(01:25):
Really just trying to be destructive in the backfield, and
if it's a blocker coming at me, just take out
one of the blockers to one of the other guys
can be on the tackle. But go back there and
try to make a play, do what I can for
my team.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
I don't know if you've seen any of it, but
that's that sack you had, well one of the sacks
you had on Patrick Mahomes where you kind of flew
in the air with your hands up really high.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Uh. There's been some all sorts of great names out there.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Lion King is one of my favorite ones where it's
like Simba diving at the at scar But anyways, it
was it was really phenomenal in that moment that that
game looked like you were having a.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
It looks like the defense specifically that one meants maybe
a little bit more.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Describe what that game is like for you.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
It's just one of those games, man, I just love
you know, them guys have been the best for for
so long. And I just remember telling when my teammates
like it's just something about Planet Chiefs. I love Planet Chiefs,
like I just I just love, you know, because you know,
they wanted the best team. I like to play against
the best. I want to beat the best obviously, so
that meanchology gets going in there, and uh, I just
(02:30):
wanted that game, you know. And for the team team
was you know, it was one of our goes to,
you know, beat those guys because they've been on top
and in order for us to do what we want
a tradition, we had to go through them guys. So
it was just high energy game and I just said,
I have fun out there and just playing with my brothers.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
How about this one.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
On a one to ten scale, Travis Kelcey is number
blank in terms of talking during the game.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
He's probably he's out there talking. He's probably like a
six or seven. Yeah, he's not going too crazy, but
he's definitely it say something to you here and there,
especially when you make a play.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
Yeah, Jaguard, I've been known to say this a lot,
so you're here for me for the first time. When
I look at the defense as a whole, you guys
as a group, I call you guys mcgiver because when
anytime the team needs.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
To make a play like that Super.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Bowl fifty team, someone on defense stands up.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
I mean, what has it been like for.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
You just being on the field and watching so many
players actually take their turn and making plays for this defense.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Man, it's the best thing about it. You know, we're
a full of dogs and I on our defense, so
you know, anybody's liable to make a play any moment.
And last week just my tim for the for the
before KC game. You know, it's been a lot of
other players like Huff, you know, the Jones, it's Riley,
(04:11):
you got the front up there. They're getting out to
the quarterback. They making their plays. Man, it's just a
great feeling when you got a bunch of guys just
playing with each other and celebrating with each other when
each other we all make out our plays. But it's
it's a beautiful thing. And I love this group. Uh
we just played for each other.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Last question I got for you.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Really appreciate the time you got out Singleton back out
there practicing passer ten back practicing saying with Joana Ellis.
Uh boy, this defense has already been playing at such
a high level.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
What's it like to have those guys back out there
practicing with you?
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Uh, it's a great you know, Alex just bringing that
that that motor you know to our defense. You know,
he's he's checking and getting in and out of calls
and uh he making to everybody's on the same page.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
Pat obviously he's the best point in the league and
he locked down one side of the field and have
it be uh big to have those guys back and
we can't wait to go out there and you know,
play with those guys to do well.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Happy Thanksgiving to you.
