Speaker 1 (00:00):
I want to my podcast your case. Yeah, this classic

(00:02):
rock station.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Joining the show is Seahawks Legend John Ryan. Good morning, John,
Good morning. Guys doing doing great over here?

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Are you doing well?

Speaker 3 (00:11):
I'm doing really well. Thanks.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I follow you and your wife Sarah Colona on social media,
and man, you guys looked super crabby over New Year's Eve.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
You're not New Year's Eve people.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Huh. Yeah, we were angry about something.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
We were angry about the fireworks and all animals that
were freaking out over it.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
So that's what we're from angry about. I guess well,
and I mean.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Fair enough because I am on your side on that,
so to speak. But now I'm watching those videos, maybe
your wife gets passionate.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
She really does. I love it.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
I love it absolutely well.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Normally when we talk to you, John, we're talking what's
up next for the Seahawks, and there's like some hopefulness
and excitedness and obviously, despite beating the Bears, we are
not making it to the postseason.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
What would you.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Yeah, what do you think are some some positive takeaways
from the season, Like, were there some highlights?

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Is it's all doom and gloom? You know, because we
gotta start looking at next season.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Yeah, it's not. It's not doom and gloom.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
You know, we can still being with ten win football
team and ten win fooall team's a pretty good football team.
But you know, with the seventeen games now, I guess
it's not quite good enough. But you know, I think
there's some good takeaways. I think, you know, we started
to see what Mike McDonald's defense should look like when
it's kind of firing on all cylinders. You know, it
was fun to start off on a three and three
and o start.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
I think we gave us all a lot of hope
all the way through September and in October, and then
it turned the other way and then it turned back
good again. So it was just a real up and
down season. And you know, I think it was just overall,
you just kind of say it was average.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, And are we thinking, you know, Smith is going
to be good to go next season.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
That's my guess. I think he'll be our quarterback again
next year. I mean, really, I don't know if anyone knows.
I don't know if even johns Schnyder knows for sure
right now. So I guess we'll have to have a
way and see things for fresh fans.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
He's no spring chicken, is he is? He like four hundred?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
I think he's like thirty.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
It's so sad that thirties old in football or any
sports for that matter.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
He's thirty four, which is kind of kind.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yeah, and so John, you've talked before about having played
with Aaron Rodgers when you were with Green Bay. There
is talk that he has said he realizes that Sunday
might be his last game. Any insight on that speaking
of old timers, No.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
No, no, none at all.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
But I think that you see how frustrating it probably
was to play on that team this year out in
New York, where it started off bad and it just
got worse and worse and worse, and that went on
until see what they did last week but actually thumped
by Buffalo. I think that it'd be pretty tough to
you see what a guy goes through in the off
season to.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Get his body ready and to get ready for the games.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
You're ready for the season, and at forty one or
forty two, it's even harder.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
I know you can.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Me as a punter, when I was getting on in
my career in my late thirties and early forties. You know, well,
I didn't take a month or two off after the season.
I could take like a day or two off. You know,
I'm just a constant, constant grying to hit your body ready,
so to kind of for him to put his mind
in that, in that mindset of having to get ready
and to get ready for something that could possibly be terrible. Again, Yeah,
it might be hard to kind of wrap your mind

(03:21):
around that.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Apparently ayahuasca is the answer.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
I thought that was something you did like once in
your life to find yourself like every other weekend.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
But I guess, well, so obviously the Seahawks are not
making the postseason.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
But John Ryan, what are your thoughts on playoffs?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Do you have anyone that you think really is going
to go all the way and perhaps win the Super Bowl?

Speaker 4 (03:45):
It's really interesting, you know, Detroit and Minnesota both looks
so good this year that it'll.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Be interesting to see who comes.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Out there or you know, obviously there's still Delp there
right there too. So there's a lot of good teams
in the NFC. And you know, as saying with the
you know, the as with Buffalo and always, you know,
Kansas City always seems to be there.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
As well. So I think it's tough to prediction prediction
right now, but I think it can be a fun playoffs.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I think it's gonna be fun as well. I just
I hate when the same team wins, Like I love
Kansas City, Like I get it, they're great, but I'm
over it.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Yeah, but they've got a shott at history. No one's
ever won three in a row. They've got a shot
history not happening.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
So, John Ryan, you have a podcast which can be
found on the brand new Free iHeartRadio app New and improved.
You have the book Lisp. Is there a new book?
Since we're in January?

Speaker 4 (04:36):
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn's Hugo of Kayley Jenkins read.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
I love that book.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Yeah, So we're gonna start talking about that next Monday,
and on the last week of January we'll do a
full full book review on it.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Oh awesome.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Oh this is even more fun because this last month
for the book Lisp, I put the book on hold
with the library and I haven't gotten it yet, at
least at least this time. When I listen, I can
know what you guys are talking about since I've already
read the book.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Right, Well, you didn't catch up and listen to them again.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Get us more listeners, John Ryan, Seahawks legend as always,
Thank you for joining us.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Thank you for having me on this A lot of
fun this season.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Yeah, and I think we're going to find a reason
to bring you back, but we'll find something else to
talk to you about, because you're You're an awesome dude.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
We love we love chatting with you.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Oh yeah, awesome, Thanks so much.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
I love being on all right, we'll talk to you later.
