A little Rihanna, a little KanyeWest, Yee lean off this Thursday edition
of Levaking Guys one more times. We open with a classic from re Read
and Yee on this Thursday because inrare fashion, the first voice you hear
(00:26):
today is my voice, guys onLavak and guys. Usually you hear Lavak
leaving this thing off. But weopen with that theme of all the lights
because my partner, the dulcet tonesof one Jeffrey Allen Levak is not in
studio the GT Toys, Studio Toyswith the zin go on support our friends
over GT Toys. He's not instudio today. He's not a We don't
(00:48):
think he's going to be a partof today's show, but he could because
truly, today, on a Thursday, in the middle of November in twenty
twenty three, might be a fullcircle moment for Capitol Region sports fans.
Think about what the last six monthshave been and it's fun to have this
conversation, not stressful, not meanor depressing or disappointing that six months has
(01:15):
been an odd time in the CapitolRegion sports history. Because think about what's
happening today. On November sixteen, twenty twenty three, the Capital Region,
a professional sports team is being representedin the Big Apple in New York City
in Times Square as the Arena FootballLeague is back. Now, look as
(01:38):
somebody who didn't grow up in theCapitol Region, I will fully admit I
didn't understand the impact in the historyof arena football when I moved here to
the five to one to eight fromCentral New York, I thought, Okay,
that's pretty cool. Hey, backin the nineties, the Albany Firebirds
were a big deal. They hada game on national television, they won
the championship. Oh, that seemslike a really cool thing. I got
(01:59):
to be one of the few luckyand fortunate media members from the ground floor
of this is coming back in thetwenty ten decade. Albany is going to
get a team back in the AlbanyEmpire. They're gonna have this being a
team that knows how to do itin a city that has a following,
and we all together watched it cometogether. The Albany Empire the new version
(02:23):
of a successful arena football league ina successful arena football franchise. Now,
whether it was part of the ArenaFootball League the last time the confetti fell,
and it was Albany and Capitol Regionssports fans celebrating a championship, or
it was that odd time in COVIDin the bankruptcy and then the team coming
back and winning the NAL and being, as I like to call it,
(02:45):
the Lineal indoor football champion. Thentwenty twenty three came. That's right,
you can look at your calendar rightnow. It still says twenty twenty three.
From the last six months of mygot Levak being president to an All
Pro wide receiver named Antonio Brown comeinto town and people celebrating because his father
(03:07):
a legend and touchdown Eddie Brown. The connection, the money, the marketing,
the social media buzz, the clipgoing viral of highlights from Empire players,
and what could be the future ofthis city when it comes to being
the face of indoor football. Myoh my, how things have changed over
the last six months. If forsome reason you've been under a rock,
(03:30):
or you've been somewhere with Aaron Rodgersin a dark chamber, the thing didn't
work out with Antonio Brown, farless because of anything involving Levac or the
owner Mike Corda or then team presidentMatt Woods or any damon anything, Tom
and as anybody you can find andgive people clicks on what happened involving to
(03:51):
Antonio Brown the past few months. But it ended and the NAL teams broke
apart, including the Orlando Predators andmore. And now we sit here in
mid November with the Arena Football Leagueback. Let me say that one more
time, the Arena Football League back, a league that has history, new
owners, new members, new executiveboard and more. That it's not just
(04:15):
four teams like we've seen recently. It's not just six teams. Which look,
it was into our football and ifyou were a young fan, you
might have not noticed who came tothe home of the way games go.
Look at some of the cities thathave been added since the Arena Football League
was rumored to be coming back.More and more and more, not just
cities, but big time markets havebeen added. Philadelphia's in the mix.
(04:42):
Teams that maybe you didn't think we'regonna be in the mix are back from
states like Minnesota and Georgia and more. And right now at WOFX nine to
eighty, we've got the schedule up. Just moments ago, we've got to
release. I could run through theschedule. I might save it. I'll
(05:02):
shoot my buddy Levaka texts here beforethe end of the hour and see if
he'll give us more information on what'sgoing on. But I want Capital region
sports fans to understand the significance oftoday because we could have opened today's show
talking about the Jets. And I'msure we'll get to the Jets a little
bit later, but the Jets stinkright now. I could have opened today's
show talking about the New York Giants. Giant fan, you also stink right
(05:24):
now, And we got a wholeshow coming up on Friday. We'll talk
football. We got a whole Sundayshow. We hope you joined US eleven
to one at Rivers Casino Reserve. This is look. I could have given
you a million, hell a billiondollars to tell me, guys, when
you and Levac go back to terrestrialradio on May one, twenty twenty three,
in six and a half months, what do you think that show one
(05:46):
week before Thanksgiving is going to betalking about. I would have told you
the Jets, Giants, and Bill'sbattling for a division championship. What the
seeding is gonna look like. IsJosh Allen an MVP candidate. Is Aaron
Rodgers gonna actually do this and getthe Jets of the Super Bowl? Is
Brian's Abo one of the best youngcoaches in the history of the NFL.
That would have been my prediction onwhat we were talking about on this show.
(06:10):
I would have probably guessed eight monthsago that the NAL and the Indoor
Football League had combined to create theArena Football League. But no, the
Giants stink, the Jets are alittle bit better, the Bills have not
played this bad in a long time, and the Arena Football League is back
at Almney is one of the marqueeteams that has featured, and their schedule
(06:31):
features cities including Philadelphia. Minnesota's technicallya state, I mean they are state
rad Minnesota, Nashville Billings heading outto one of the Dakotas, Iowa.
This is incredible what's happening today? Then it went from will arena football are
(06:54):
indoor football? And I know coachWare is gonna give me grief because I
know he'll explain as this year goeson the difference between indoor football and arena
football of how that comes together andwhat the true differences are to today,
the Campital region being spotlighted in TimesSquare with the release of Arena Football,
with twenty plus teams scheduled to beback in twenty twenty four. Another most
(07:18):
important thing people want to talk aboutis dates and times and all that stuff.
All that information will continue to comeout the East Division. The East
Division which is listed is Philadelphia andAlbany and Minnesota and Nashville. And how
that's gonna happen. Wow, it'scome full circle the negativity. This will
(07:42):
never work again. Antonio Brown's ruinedit. I'll never go to another game.
But it's a whole new era today. Now there's gonna be two sides
where you can take on this. For Capital Resisports, there's two ways you
can go. You can go overhere in negative land and fire up a
comment on face Book and say thisis gonna fill the already relocators. You
(08:05):
could be that guy. I seehim every single time. I've seen it,
every single time since the Empire cameback, since the Firebirds were announced.
I see him. And if youwant to have that attitude, okay,
that's how you want to go throughlife, negative rooting against your businesses.
To succeed locally, loosing a potentialteam and then just giving up on
(08:28):
any other team for the future. It's a bizarre way to live life.
And I've said it multiple times before. No other New York market has an
attitude like that. Buffalo doesn't treatteams like that, Syracuse, Rochester,
Ithaca, Courtland, gen You.Nobody else acts like that, but the
Almany wants to. So you couldbe that negative person and fire off the
(08:48):
social media comment and start trashing theFirebirds right now, or you can be
what I hope is going to bethe next few months and understand what's happening
right now that the Almedy Firebirds areback as a franchise. The executives who
have run this team have won championshipsbefore. The players that are on this
(09:11):
roster already are some of the bestarena football players in the country. And
then all of a sudden, whenthey play Philadelphia, when they play Nashville,
when they play Iowa, when theytake the road trips, when they
are talked about across the country, that this team that's going to take the
field this spring is representing you,a Capitol region sports fan that you get
(09:33):
to root for a local team ona professional level that's going to be new
and exciting, indifferent. We talka lot on the show about hope.
That if the team is struggling andyou hope for hope for the future,
whether it's a young prospect, whetherit's a draft pick, that something gets
you excited for the future, thatyou're just not going to give up on
this. What else do you wantthe Firebirds to give you right now?
(09:56):
If you've been negative about the Empirein the past, Tonio Brown and all
that stuff, okay, you couldhave that tag. But if you just
want to be stubborn and I can'tchange your opinion, then just go.
But think about what's happened over thelast six months and where we sit today
that if you wanted to trash AntonioBrown and trash name are gone. There's
(10:16):
no more Antonio Brown. If youdidn't like whatever reason, the Empire because
you were such a die hard Firebirdfan and you didn't want another team even
in Albany, the Empire's not hereeither. If you didn't like that there
were six teams or four teams, you wanted more competition, that's gone too.
It's giving you everything you want rightnow. A national overall look at
(10:39):
arena football. The name Arena football, the franchise that's the most popular,
and wan championships, an ownership groupthat knows what it's doing, is one
championships, players that are veterans whohave had success in this sport. And
now New York City's featuring the CampbelalRegion today down in the Big Apple.
This is everything a campel To regionsports end would want. Now, I
(11:00):
know there's one other thing. Ididn't say that. I say this is
everything. You can't put a regionsports in what But there is one big
thing and that's still winning. Youknow, we can have all this HYPERROUDI
it's always the question that's hovered aroundthe Empire over the last few or five
years of Hey, so like whatif they're not winning? What if they
(11:22):
just go five hundred? Are thefans still are going to come out?
Has the bar been set so highinvolving Albany Arena Football from the number one
seed when the Empire came back toa championship, When the Empire came back
to COVID to back to back championships, So three of the four years they've
won a title. The other yearthey did it was year one where they're
(11:43):
an expansion team. True, andwe're the number one seed. How high
are the expectations? Now, that'sintriguing, that's not scary. That's not
something you don't want to dive into. If you live in the Capital region
and you've got relatives it might bevisiting over the next few weeks, and
you want to brag to them saying, hey, have you heard about the
(12:05):
Arena Football League? You know, like Albany's got the best arena football team?
Right? No, wait what andyou give them all those stats.
Hey, it's coming back this April, this mayth is June. You want
to go to a game, youwant to see something different, you want
to see a style of football you'veever seen before. All that can be
true. Man, I'm thrilled fortoday because I saw it. You saw
(12:26):
it, you heard it, youwatched it, you listen to it.
The chaos, the drama every singleday with a goofy video and people not
getting paid and the Gazette and theTimes Union feature and stories about the negativity.
And now six months later, notsix years later, not three years
later, not a deck six monthslater, we sit here on a Thursday
(12:54):
and the Firebirds are back. AreWena football is back. The capital region
is focused. The team gets readyto kick off if the schedule has been
released, the players are there, the coaches show is sent. It feels
like it hasn't missed a beat.Now, I'm giving my guy Levec a
lot of credit today. And Iwould have done the same thing if he
was sitting in that chair that I'mlooking at a cross in the studio,
I would have said the same thing. And I don't even know if I'm
(13:15):
gonna have enough time to give himthirteen or fourteen minutes over the phone to
give him that type of term.He loves the flowers on the phone today
of what's happened. Look, he'sin a team president role. He'll say,
there's a lot left to go beforekickoff. But when we look back
on the calendar in twenty twenty three, we're gonna say what days stood out
to you? And hell, Iget to see it on our digital signe
(13:37):
of Oh, this is when AntonioBrown made a headline. This is when
the Empire were back in the news. Empire fans and indoor football fans AFL
fans, I see your passion digitallyall the time. When I see our
podcast numbers, I see our streamingnumbers, I'm excited to see today's They
want to show those to the bossesof how well this is done. And
this is just day one of thenext era of college indoor professional Capital Region
(14:05):
football improving you all being this weekend'sa one win away from going back to
the FCS playoffs. Union got pickedas an at large team to represent Division
three, which is I hope peopleunderstand how difficult that is to get an
at large bid out of the LibertyLeague. They did it, and now
the Firebirds are back. What anawesome date is And if you want to
(14:26):
see more Agan the Firebirds on socialmedia, follow them. Looking forward to
building that relationship with them. Celebratingtoday what it means that Ding Dong the
Witch's Dad. A new era ishere. Antonio Brown is no more in
the Capitol whereon gets back to focusingon hopefully winning some championships this upcoming season.

Arena Football officially back in the fiveone eight. If you needed any
more confirmation, how about a niceold signing bill board in the City that
Never sleeps today and the official ArenaFootball League schedules out You want to check
that out, It's right now upon Twitter at WOFX nin. I got
(21:57):
this tweet today from our guy Danshout out to Boston Dan, and he
pointed this tweet out to me,and it's had me thinking about this all
day long, the difference we canlook at between New York sports fan Boston
sports fan. Will we covered someNew England sports a little bit later when
our guy Britty Farcus Shen's own Iwas always like to say, we'll be
(22:18):
joining the show New York sports fan, Boston sports fan, and maybe any
other sports fan. And what Imean by it is this, let's start
with the Jets, because the Jetsmake it so much easier to figure out.
We've been battling back and forth allfall along about two things. One,
Zach Wilson and why he is playingstill because he's been awful, terrible,
(22:44):
not good, can't score. Weget it. We've done to Zach
Wilson. We've played that note afew times. And Aaron Rodgers, the
idea that he's even coming back,I'm not evenna do it, because I'm
sure this will be one of manytimes. He did it a few times
this week already. But think NewYork wants one of those guys to be
the guy, and that's Aaron Rodgers. But New York has already given up
(23:07):
on Zach Wilson, and I don'tblame him because he hasn't been good.
New York gave up on Daniel Jonesbefore he even took a snap, and
hell, I'm in a part ofthat group. Daniel Jones wasn't that a
top four quarterback in the ACC,but he was the second best quarterback in
all of college football. That wasDave Gettelman's rationale for drafting the former Duke
(23:29):
Blue Devil so high, so manyNFL drafts ago. But New York Sportsman
is quick to criticize and wants achange because the expectation is always to win,
and there are a lot of teamsin New York who have won the
Giants have won multiple Super Bowls. We know what the Yankees have done.
Hell, the Islanders had an alltime great dynasty in hockey history. There
(23:52):
been other franchises that haven't won.And maybe if I haven't listed your name,
you're not on the list. Thatfelt like a teacher thing, very
much like if I haven't called yourname, you have to improve. Feels
like you guys just got cut froma local high school team. With that
reference by me, what New York'sexpectation is to win and they have one,
but very quick criticize. What Iknow it's about. Dan's tweet is
(24:15):
that Boston isn't like that. Bostonwants something changed now Now. I don't
like it, now, now changeit, change it, even if it's
good, Even if it's good now, doing this is a job for most
of my adult life. I putthis in a little different category. There's
one part of me that feels likethere's a little bit of theater to it.
(24:37):
There's a little bit of I know, in the Boston market, it's
very competitive in the sports talk worldwith legendary stations that the most outrageous thing
that I can say will be thething that someone talks about it's gonna be
less about box scores and more aboutbig headlines. Oh, the Red Sox
can't break the curse? Fire GradyLittle? Why because he left Pedro in
(25:03):
the Hall of Famer. Okay,I guess whoever wins the Red Sox a
World Series, we have a statuehe will be a legend in Boston forever.
Didn't they fire Terry Francona because ofthat whole controversy with chicken and beer
and everything else. How often havethe Red Sox managers who actually won World
Series in the history of the franchisegot to go out on their own terms.
(25:27):
Think about how wild of a statement. That is the most cursed franchise
in my life not named the ChicagoCubs. I can't tell you a manager
who left on his own terms evenwhen they won the World Series. Same
they had with Madden in Chicago. So automatically, New England wants change,
(25:48):
They want things different. They don'twant it to and Tom Brady was feeling
heat his final few seasons in NewEngland. New England Patriot fan was done
with Brady. He got old itwas time to move on. He wasn't
the play Tampa Bay took him,and I was very happy with that decision
as a Buccaneer fan because I gotsome Super Bowl gear out of it and
join it as a fan. Butthen I thought about anything else involved in
(26:11):
the Patriots now with Bill Belichick, that Patriot fan is done with Belichick has
to get moved. And then itwas this Joe Giza via Boston Dan on
Twitter quote. Greg Popovich led theSpurs to five NBA championships, the last
(26:33):
championship coming in twenty fourteen. He'shad six straight losing seasons and right now
San Antonio's three and eight? Doeshe get the same kind of heat that
Bill Belichick's getting and I'm just notaware of it. It's a fantastic point.
Greg Popovich, like Bill Belichick, can be argued as the greatest coaching
(26:56):
his profession ever. We could makea list of your best coaches ever in
best NFL coaches, but for thesake of this conversation, let's just both
say their number one. What's thedifference? What is the difference? Think
about this, like I've been rallyingthat the biggest difference for the Patriots in
comparison to other teams who build dynastiesas money. We saw it with the
(27:18):
ninety eight Bulls a little crosspor comparison, like always do on this type of
discussion, that they spent a tonof money on Jordan. Jordan was making
more on that team than the entireBulls team roster combined. Jordan was so
valuable to the NBA that when hewere retired in ninety eight, the league
went to a lockout in ninety nineto figure out contracts. So the Patriots
never had that as an excuse. But Popovich and the Spurs stunk. I
(27:44):
don't even want to call San Antonioa smaller market that they're just grateful they
had Popovich. They're still passionate sportsfans at San Antonio. They won multiple
championships with pop Do you think whenthey stunk like San Antonio fans were like,
well, at least we wanted ninetynine, at least we wanted them
in two thousands. The Popovitch thingcan be cited back to Kawhi Leonard a
(28:07):
lot. They had a plan forthe future in San Antonio and then the
claw turned into something else and SanAntonio's future was off. But never once
have I heard until today anyone questionedwhether or not Greg Popovich should be fired
as the Spurs head coach. I'veheard people say he might step aside.
(28:29):
I know there were the things offthe court that were happening in his personal
life and family, and more sothere was talks that Popovich might step away.
Hell, let's not forget that Popovichin similar fashion to Bill Belichick as
a managerial mind. How many youngersports fans remember that the reason Greg Popovitch
is the head coach of the SanAntonio Spurs is because he hired himself for
the job after they got Tim duncango look at up younger sports fans.
(28:55):
So no heat on Popovich, Butthe moment Bill Belichick has a band and
we're struggling post Tom Brady, NewEngland sports fan and Boston sports fan wants
him fired. Gone. Who caresabout the Super Bowls? You want?
You can't win with Macaroni Jones thoughtabout this the other day too with Matt
(29:15):
Campbell. If you're listening to ourguy, Colin Cowherd ahead of us,
Cowherd had Joe clatt On, Ithink it's the best thing we do here
on Fox Sports twenty five nine toninety that's not on from three to five.
It's that weekly interview with Joe Klett, the College Football Insider, and
Joe Clett mentioned that Matt Campbell's agreat example of this, that Matt Campbell
for these coaches that are at smallerschools cashing when they can cash in,
and if they don't, they don'tget talked about it anymore. Campbell was
(29:38):
the can't miss coach at Iowa State, and now people don't even mentioned him
in these conversations with Texas A andM and other openings in Mississippi State.
It's crazy to think how different thingsare when you look market to market to
market. I saw an article todayon Barrett's Sports Media. I'll give him
a shot outcause I know he's aHudson Valley Poughkeepsie guy. So out to
(30:00):
Jason Barrett. I believe he actuallyused to work in this building for our
sisters Staction Picks. At one point. Jason had a conversation up today about
how down in Pittsburgh, the Pittsburghlocals think Mike Tomlin's overrated. Who,
like nobody else thinks that nobody elsethinks Mike Tomlin's overrated unless you're a Pittsburgh
(30:22):
fan that I want to say sufferedwith Mike Tomlin, but maybe your suffering's
far different, or you were justgoing for the pop on a morning show
in Pittsburgh. Nobody thinks that.Nobody in San Antonio thinks Popovi it should
go. But in Boston and NewYork, whether it's loud, whether it's
(30:44):
headlines, whether it's easy content, however we want to frame it, there
is a different world when it comesto these markets. The Bill Belichick thing
blows me away. Like Diana Rasidi, I don't want to pick on Diana
Receiding today, but she works forI believe for the Athletic Now. Diana
Residing was one of many reporters nowto hop on this that Belichick's gonna get
traded. I'm not even doubting that, or Belichick's gonna part The season's not
(31:07):
over. The Patriots and Bill Belichickplan on partying ways at the end of
the season. They got eight weeksleft, like the Raiders. Dumb McDaniels,
he's gone. I just mentioned thecoaches in college that are gone.
If you think it's gonna end,and why not end it now? Because
things aren't gonna get better for NewEngland, New England and New York.
Next week is the battle for CalebWilliams. There's a chance that Bill Belichick's
(31:30):
gonna get the quarterback that he wantsin New England. Now, whether people
should trust Belichick's judgment on traffick atquarterback, as I mentioned yesterday, I
think should be a realistic conversation.Garoppolo was good at a time, but
he was the backup for a longtime. Would Garoppolo have been the next
Brady? He helped the Niners getto a Super Bowl, but Garoppolo and
he signed with San Francisco. Wasit because of the belief in Bill Belichick
(31:52):
that the Niners made him the highestpaid quarterback at that time in the history
of the NFL? Or is heactually that good? I'm not saying Garoppolo
should have been close to being thehighest paid quarterback in the history of the
NFL, but maybe Belichick's rubb gothim there, so it would have been
Groppolo leading Patriots. Does Belichick dosomething wild and not draft Caleb Williams or
(32:15):
Drake Bannge just all of a suddenfires off a pick for Jaden Daniels Shador
Sanders, Does something that nobody likeKuiper mcshae or any of these mock draft
guys want. It's possible, butto think that now it's over for New
England because Macaroni Jones can't play, and that the Boston media wants him gone,
it frustrates me as both a sportsfan and a sports host, because
(32:40):
what happens with the dude after Belichick? This guy won multiple Super Bowls,
arguably the greatest coach ever. Didhe ever have a chance to succeed in
Boston? Whoever follows Belichick? Whatabout the guy who followed Britty? Oh,
we're watching that happen right now, that mac Jones isn't very good and
everyone wants to do a third stringernow never be on the roster. What
(33:02):
happens to the coach post World Serieschampionship in the Reds? Like, oh,
we saw that happen? Like NewYork and Boston are so different because
New York expects to win and Bostonexpects a change as soon as possible,
And maybe those two markets stand ontheir owns when it comes to these things
that we're talking about today, changing, wanting something different, wanting something else.
(33:27):
That's what the new York market lookslike one other thing on the New
York Park. By the way,it's God's filing in for Leavak and Goz.
Yeah, I like how I setthat up? Just gaz in for
Goz today here on Fox Sports ninetyfive nine to nine eighty. Uh.
Let's continue that Jet conversation here though? Does it still confuse everybody that Trevor
Simeon is not the quarterback this week? I get if you don't want Tim
(33:49):
Boyle is the quarterback and why he'son the roster. I haven't heard a
good answer from anybody yet, butwhy did they sign Trevor Simeon if he's
not gonna play? Ever? It'samazing to think about what Zach Wilson can
do to keep his job now.Zach Wilson was fine in the most recent
game for the Jets. It didn'tblow the game, It wasn't the worst
(34:13):
part of the game. It didn'twin. But what's it gonna take.
It's amazing to think about that thatwe're gonna look back two or three years
from now and just be questioning still, why did the Jets not bench Zach
Wilson. You probably where you workhalf somebody like this, though, what's
(34:36):
it gonna take to get fired? What is this person who I work with
every single day going to have todo to no longer work here? Now
the working world, especially for biggercompanies. Hell, I'm sure this is
happening for medium companies. Whether it'sthe service industry, whether it's sales department,
whether it's the education world. Thingshave changed post COVID. People have
(34:59):
become independent business owners, people haveset their own hours, have gone on
their own ways to create income, where always working for the man is no
longer a thing post COVID. Butno matter what you do, you have
to have somebody you work with whereyou question every day, how is this
person still employed? You do knowthe answer though, Well, it's gonna
(35:22):
take a long time to fill thatposition. Well, if they don't do
it, then somebody else is gonnahave to do it. And we just
can't because we have so many fewpeople here or the boss's nephew or niece.
So what's the answer for Zack Wilson. Oh, he was a first
round pick. I mean we've seenfirst round picks get bench. We literally
just talked about Mac Jones. Thatcan't be it that Aaron Rodgers's ego would
(35:45):
be hurt if Trevor Simon ever tookthe field and was good. Doesn't Rodgers
allegedly want to come back and playSimeon can help you in a few more
games. It still doesn't make senseof why Zach Wilson hasn't hit the bench.
I'm waiting for a report to comeout. Is any Jet fan actually
thinking that Wilson should continue to play, because now the Jets aren't even in
(36:07):
the conversation for another pick. Andthen I don't think that the goal is
to get a quarterback. Like, they're not gonna get a quarterback. They're
not gonna pull at Jordan Love. They can't because Rogers would have a fit
about that too. Imagine if theJets did do that in the second round,
they drafted a somebody Penix that's sundWe probably wont get to the second
round, but hey, this isour future. No longer Zach HiT's Penix.
(36:32):
Oh Man, when Rogers have ameltdown like he's sort of did in
Green Bay, at least reported bythe way, he might not have been
wrong about that meltdown about how poorJordan Love has looked early on The question
still sits out there. How isZack Wilson on the field. He's starting.
(36:52):
Get ready Zach Wilson, more ofthat jet fans coming up and what
the future could be for him goingforward for this team. It is Levack

An historic day for Capitol Region sports. Not just the co host of Levack
and Guys, the team president ofthe Alby Firebirds, Jeff Levak joins us.
(42:19):
Hello, my friend, Hey,you know, it's nice to be
in here having a blast. We'rein the w Hotel, which is I'm
pretty sure I wouldn't be allowed hereif I wasn't representing the Firebirds, and
just listen to the commissioner, LeeHudton, Trevelle Gaines, Brian Foote,
who is the head of Humble, which is the tech partner for the AFL,
and I can proudly tell you thatthe season, the league, everything
(42:44):
begins in Albany and we will kickoff the season April twenty seventh. The
NFL Draft will end and the AlbanyFirebirds just march to another championship will begin
right then and there whoa, whoa, whoa, look at this. Weanta
WOFX exclusive here the first time somebodylocally has dropped this. So that is
(43:06):
a Saturday the twenty seventh. Thatmeans you're not just saying the Firebirds,
You're saying the whole league. That'sgame one, Yes, yes, and
again the so because we have arelationship with the NFL, the AFL has
a relationship with the NFL. Thedraft ends and we start right then.
So when the you know, thefinal pick, you know, mister irrelevant
gets picked, and then mister irrelevant, Darius Prince goes and scores a touchdown
(43:30):
for the Firebirds against I would sayprobably his least favorite team, the Orlando
Predators right there in Albany. Levacjoining us live from Times Square right now.
If you missed the top of theshow, it is the big announcement.
Following at WFX nine eighty you wereretweeted some things along with the Albany
Firebirds that at the Arena Football Leagueis officially back the schedule, the teams,
(43:52):
everything you want. It's a fullcircle moment as we talked about the
insanity of the last six months, but a really cool history moment today.
So for those who might have missedthese details, Levac are the official teams
finalized. We have the number divisions. What are we looking at when you
talking about the structure of the leaguein twenty twenty four, Yeah, we
(44:12):
have there's four divisions. We're inthe East. It's I believe it's sixteen
teams. I'd have to look onmy phone. It was there's so much
going on. Like I said, when I found out that we were the
actual official kickoff with the launch ofthe entire league, I just kind of
I kind of got giddy. Igot excited and I saw our guys as
we're down here, you know,Mike Corda, Richie says, not Andy
Gelser wanting to be here, buthe's holding down everything back in the cap
(44:37):
region. But Dwayne Hollis Damon whereDarius Prince. I just looked over everybody
when we found out we were theyou know, we're the show starter,
and and the fact that we getto go against the Orlando which has been
a rival of ours, and youknow, we helped get them, you
know, to the to the islandof relevancy last year and they, in
our opinion, they didn't do enoughto stay on the island. So we're
(44:57):
looking forward to booting them right backoff right to start the season. We
all just got giddy. It wasjust exciting. You know, I have
the I have the twenty nineteen AFLring with me. I started like holding
it up for everyone to see it, like like Simba, I had it
up in the middle of the room. Ahrel games. The CEO of the
league was like, I'm gonna needto wear that. And he's a big
dude, so he can do whateverhe wants. But yeah, it's just
that was that was the biggest thing, just to know that we're there.
(45:21):
We're going to have two Monday nightgames during the season, and they're both
going to be against the Philadelphia Soul, so that rivalry is back. I
will tell you one one other thing. It is a ten game season.
But because we are all Benny andbecause of what the fan base is meant
through the AFL, the Firebers andeverything else, we're getting six home games.
We're going on the road four times. So MVP Arena will host six
(45:43):
home games starting on April twenty seventh. When we when we let the Predators,
you just remind them where they belongin the old pecking order. What
a great moment to have that happen. To have the AFL have the faith,
the respect, the trust, whateverwords we want to use to talk
about what they've you the Capitol Regionsports fan as over the past few years
in the history of Capitol Region sportsfan when it comes to the Almbedi fire
(46:06):
words so cool that we're talking notjust cities that maybe have started, like
these are big time markets from Philadelphiaas you mentioned, and more states across
the country. For you, likeI want to call it the pomp and
circumstance because I want to get amacho man. Randy Sarah's reference it here.
But how did for you it musthave felt totally different in comparison to
what you've seen over the past fewyears. Like you've been a part of
(46:29):
the NFL in a on field hostingrole, but as a team president,
this is your second different league inthe last three and a half years.
Yeah, and it's you know, just to kind of give you like a
scope of how big this league couldbe and I think will be. You
know, when you've got your commissionerLee Hutting up there speaking in front of
the room, and then you lookacross the room and the head coach for
(46:51):
West Texas is the commission used tobe the commissioner of the NL the league.
He just you won last time, you did a whole season in it.
It's like, huh, well likeyour ponds now, isn't it,
buddy? Like it's it's it is. It's a little onspiring. It's a
little different, and it's one ofthose situations where like, you know,
you you hear Lee hut and go, look, I know who's trying to,
(47:12):
you know, work against us.You know in our world, got
counter program program against us, andI'm coming for you. And it's just
like that's kind of the way Iwant to ride. I like people who
see a challenge. Who see aperson who wants to be your opponent,
size you up and then just goright after you. And that's that's what
this leak is is gonna be.And you know, we're just starting to
(47:32):
make the announcements, so you know, to have Humble involved means that we've
got this this tech partner where itwas. It was really interesting me because
when this, when this broadcastgan onthe website, it was overwhelmed. They
broke the website. Yeah, butthe the founder and the bosses, everybody
(47:53):
from Humble was here. They brokeout free laptops, start hacking away on
their computers and all of a sudden, next thing, you know, it's
work it again. So like youhave a partner in Humble, who's who's
I guess Humble enough to be herewith you to make sure it runs right.
And it was you know, it'sthe CEO, it's the CFO,
it's those people who are sitting theregoing we need to make this right.
We're part of this league. Itwas really cool. And if anything I'm
(48:16):
hearing right now is even remotely true, which I believe it all is,
then the announcements are only going toget bigger from here. So this is
this is the place to be manthe AFL and as we started calling it
on the limo bus down the theAlmney Football League, which we think has
a nice ring to it, Uh, where we're just we're just gonna take
over. And they like invited usto try to talk trash. I'm like,
(48:37):
have you seen what we've been doingall day? Anybody, Like,
that's why we're here. We wetalked trash and then we and then we
walk that lock. So it's it'sit's pretty incredible. It's gonna be really
exciting, and you know, it'sall inspired. It really is when you
see the people, like everybody inthat room. They may not be the
richest person you've ever met, theymay not be the you know, the
(48:59):
smartest guy you've ever met, butthere are all the people who love football,
who love arena football the most andare going to give it absolutely everything
they got. So this is thebeginning and where there are already there were
people in the room from markets thatare being added next season already. So
when they finally shut the gates onthis year, they still had people trying
to get on the bus. Andso we're going to expand as of next
(49:22):
year of the playoffs and the championshipgame are all going to be neutral locations,
but those neutral locations will be theplaces that next year will be in
the new franchise. I would coveredso much. I would tell you this
not just if you're on the phoneor in person, and actually because you're
my friend, of my co hostand all the great things, but please
share this with Mike and Darius Princeand Aimed and all the people who are
(49:44):
connected to the Firebirds who we letoff the show talking about this today of
what it's been like the last yearand six months, that it's not three
years that it took for Arena Footballto come back to the Capitol Region.
Are a decade plus six months fromwhat six months ago was to where you
guys are today in Times Square withthe Capitol Region, even with everything that
(50:05):
happened out of your guys's control, that the Arena Football League is back,
and they said, we want Albany, we want the Capitol Region to beat
Game one, we want the Firebirdsto report. I hope you guys are
proud because you're making people the CapitalRegion product visited historic day to day.
So please share that message with youguys, and I hope you guys have
a few celebratory drinks on the rideback today, because you guys all deserve
(50:27):
it over what's happened over the lastfew months with you guys. I mean,
I wasn't gonna do it be sentyou insist. I guess we could
pop a few tops. Raz Ourdriver was like, Hey, just so
you guys know, I know whywe're going to the city. I got
champagne ready for the ride back.Yeah. I thought that was pretty cool.
So, yeah, everybody's been greatand it's just, uh, the
(50:47):
one another thing I didn't mention toyou is like, this is the group
that will be a part of runningthe flag football teams for the Olympics.
WOA. So when you see thelike the Arena Football USA instead of what
it speed the AFL dot Com,that's because they already have their eyes set
on arena football, Mexico Arena football, Canada Arena football, you know,
(51:08):
you know, Germany, like whatever, they're it's these are the guys who
have never seen a problem too bigto tackle, and they're gonna and they're
and they're part of bringing the ANFLback and now they're gonna be the next
one, they hand up a trophy. So so we're looking forward to it.
I want to let you go.But before you go, just because
you know, I enjoy stuff likethis when it's random and on location everything
(51:30):
else, can you tell us aboutour friends over at the Integrative Sleep Center
and Bosston Spot. Look before Ido that real quickly, I said that
I was cool, but this isa radio dirt moment that you're gonna have.
So we got to the out herea little bit early. We went
to find the bars. We're walkingout, I hear, hey, Jeff,
and I look up it's Peter Schwartzfrom ws AN here. I like,
(51:50):
everybody's like, how the hell doesthat guy know who you are and
everything? I'm like, dude, you know, I'm kind of a big
deal, I swear, but Iknow he's you know, he's been a
great guy who's been helping helping meout. He worked with with other teams
the past with the Integrated Sleep Center. I mean, I'm gonna recommend as
to everybody because on the ride back, I'm almost positive there's gonna be story.
And that's the worst because it's aseasy as a mouthpiece that you travel
with. I got it. Inmy backpack ready to go, just in
(52:13):
case I started to dose up,which I can't imagine, Like I am
pumped right now. But when Ido go to sleep tonight, mouthpiece keeps
the airway open. Sleep back.He is under control. The snoring is
is as low as it's ever beensince I was a child, and I'm
sleeping so much better, and myhealth is better. Listen, listen,
listen to me ramble right now. It's saying the energy I've got for you
after spending entire day and on limobus with Mike Korda and Darius Prince and
(52:36):
Damon Ware. So if you wantthis kind of boost, if you want
this kind of night sleep, yougotta call five eighty five, six five
sixty eighty five doctor Fred Dreer, and you're in Sleep Center and boss in
Spa. They're helping me sleep better. They're gonna help you sleep better too,
And I believe that will we bebringing back to Sleeper Camp as part
of the Arena Football Experience in theCapitol Region. He is the team president,
(52:57):
he is the co host. Hedoes it all, my guy,
Lovac. I will see you tomorrowin the GT Toy studio. Toys of

Top four four with Lovak and Guz. Sort of kind of. It is
the Top four to four. It'sbrought to you by Mohawknor where they always
go out of their way to pleaseyou. Love in my pilot, loving
the weather right now in the fall, I said, sort of because it's
(53:43):
Guz No Levak Lavac is in NewYork City today, the Big Apple,
the huge Announcements. If you havebeen followed the Albany Firebirds on social media,
give them a follow. Awesome day. You know what I'm making an
audible right now. Story number fouris the Albany Firebirds the release of the
Arena Football League schedule. Go checkthem out, Facebook, Twitter, and
(54:05):
more. Our guy Ben Nelson, friend of the show, killing it.
So they're really number four, butbecause they just got their plugin, we'll
go with the National one. Herefor story number four, we're gonna find
out who the MVPs of Major LeagueBaseball were for the twenty twenty three regular
season. When theyre announced tonight, you would feel like it's a pretty safe
bet, like we did yesterday inthe top four to four that Blake Snell
(54:27):
was gonna win the National League,Sy Young shout out to Garrett cole One
in the American League, Si Young, you would feel like tonight should be
a slam dunks cross sport pun therefor ron Lukunia Junior for the Atlanta Braves
and the ridiculous numbers he put upfor both power at the plate and stealing
bases. And show Aotani. WhenI say this, it gets old school
sports fans all riled up. Themodern Dave Babe Ruth and statistically might be
(54:52):
better than Babe Ruth. So Otaniwins the MVP tonight, more than likely
Ronald Lukunia Junior wins the ENV tonight. Atlanta Braves fans are excited. Shouta
Andrew Santillo, shout to Chris Snorano. But the focus goes on show Aotani
because he's gonna be a free agent. There's been rumors that Atlanta's interested that
(55:14):
Otani might like to play for theBraves. There's a cover story today on
the Four Letter Network that the ChicagoCubs are in hot pursuit. Later on
the show, maybe we'll hear ifour guy Brady Farcas thinks Otani could be
a play for the Boston Red Sox, the Yankees. There's so many different
teams. If you're sick of theOtani coverage, let me tell you tonight
(55:34):
is the start of Moro Otani. On the way we've had the summer of
Lebron, the summer of Carmelo andJimmy Butler and Kyrie. How about the
winter of Otani. Not the Gameof Thrones reference, but winner is coming,
and tonight's to start with that. With Otani likely winning the America likely
is going to win the American LeagueMost Valley pol Player Award, Let's shift
(55:58):
it over to story number three,to the hard with two big games in
the NBA tonight, and I saybig games because we start focusing on the
future of these four franchises. Inparticular, it's the Brooklyn Nets taking on
the Mimi he ate a seven andthirty tip off there in South Beach,
and the nightcap features the Oklahoma CityThunder taking on the Golden State Warriors.
Think about that. Four teams, just two games tonight on a Thursday in
(56:20):
the NBA, and there is sometrue wonder storylines behind four different franchises heading
in four different directions. Let's startwith the Brooklyn Nets. And I've been
doing this for what since the twentytens. They have to remind New York
fans that, yes, Brooklyn isa New York team. So many of
(56:42):
those fans still consider the Brooklyn Nets. I don't know if it's ever gonna
go away. They were the NewJersey Nets. They're in New York team.
Even when they had Kyrie and HardenDurant. People are like, okay,
I guess sort of, and nowBridge is the star of that team.
But Ben Simmons injured again. Enough, look Simmons just finish off the
(57:04):
contract and retire. Would I readthe Ben Simmons tweets and social media posts,
and every single time I have tocheck if they're a joke. There's
no way this guy can keep gettinginjured. There's no way. Time.
Look, if he's seven foot fiveand he's got feet problems like Bill Walton,
Okay, if he's got issues likethat, then make But these are
just ridiculous injuries. Ben Simmons shouldbe talked about as one of the biggest
(57:28):
busts in NBA history now, whetherit's because he's got a great agent that
protects him from that critique, whetherit's that playoff series years ago that is
still haunting him of how awful hewas. But the Ben Simmons things over,
Just take the money, retire, move on. There're opponent Tonight's to
Miami Heat. Miami right now througha couple games in the regular season of
(57:49):
the NBA. You watching as anNBA fan and a sportsman, you think
the Heat or the best team inthe East, the defending raining undisputed Eastern
Conference cham be in Miami Heat.It feels like Miami hasn't even recovered from
not having Damian Lillard. This wasa done deal in South Beach. Agent
(58:10):
Zero Skilbert. Arena's gonna get madthat I used that nickname that Damian Lillard
was gonna be a heat no doubt. It was a WOJE conspiracy that Lillard
was going to be in South Beach. It didn't happen. But now Miami
sits, and it seems teams likePhiladelphia are far better right now, even
though they haven't proved it in thepostseason. Boston's way better right now.
(58:30):
So what direction will Miami head towardsfor the next few months of the NBA.
We shifted over to those Lake gamesthe Golden State Warriors. Ever,
he suspended, whether it was afake fight, a real fight, WWE
like Rudy Gober selling a sleeper holelike I haven't seen since the million Dollar
Man Teddbiasse and Roddy Rowdy Piper wasputting him in hot rod Rowdy Roddy Piper.
(58:54):
So a watch of players suspended forthe Warriors. Oh no, we
don't have to play games in novamerWe don't have to participate in the n
season tournament. Please no, noAh, curious about that game now.
By the way, the Thunder OklahomaCity Chad Holmgrenman Company. I can't wait
till we see the Thunder with abillion draft picks. They've been stocking up
(59:16):
for those middle schoolers and high schoolers. Maybe the Thunder will eventually get good.
And look, I don't even wantto criticize Oklahoma City that much because
that theory of having a bunch ofdraft picks. At one point in the
late two thousands, they had Durant, Harden, and Westbrook all on the
same roster and almost took down theMinabi Heat. So there you go,
the Thunder heading towards the future, the Warriors taking some time off, the
Brooklyn Nets being ridiculous, and theMinay Heat wondering will we ever recover?
(59:39):
I just sold you four teams twogames on a Thursday in November, but
shifted over to story number two. We've got Week eleven of the NFL kicking
off tonight. We got an oldschool slugfest in the AFC North. The
Cincinnati Bengals, the Baltimore Ravens.Who's gonna be the hop dog in the
(01:00:00):
North? Now? I mentioned dogthere. The Cleveland Browns have had an
influence in this division for sure,in the Pittsburgh Steelers sitting at six and
three. The best division right nowin the NFL's the AFC North. The
way it's pacing it's not out ofthe conversation. We're talking about one of
the best divisions ever ever in thehistory of the NFL. The way these
(01:00:22):
teams are going that potentially the lastplace team could be a postseason team.
What's the biggest matchup key in thisgame? The physicality and more Joe Burrow
versus Lamar Jackson will dive deeper intothe matchup a little bit later in this
hour, But if you're looking atthese two teams, think about this question
for yourself. Which team of thesetwo would be most likely for you to
(01:00:42):
be a Super Bowl contender a teamthat wins the AFC? Right now?
Do you believe in the Bengals more, the Ravens more? You don't get
to pick anybody else. You don'tget to pick Miami, you don't get
to pick Kansas City. The questionif you're playing the top four to four
ful of AAC was here, that'sthe question I'd ask him, who would
you believe in more to get throughthe Super Bowl this season? Right now?
Ravens are Bengals. I picked theBengals until Lamar Jackson can do it,
(01:01:07):
until my guy, Lamar Jackson couldget those postseason wins and have that
postseason performance. We've done this allthe time in professional sports, where there's
an MVP caliber athlete who's so goodin the regular season, who puts up
historic stants, but when December orJanuary, in the most important games of
their careers roll around, they can'tget through. I don't want that to
(01:01:29):
be the knock of Lamar Jackson. But I've watched Joe Burrow get the Bengals
to a super Bowl, and tonight'san interesting match and that line sitting at
three and a half, Oh,this is a classic for the play of
the day. But if you toldme right now I had to pick one
of these two teams to get tothe Super Bowl, who would I pick?
The Ravens of the Bengals. Iwould believe in the Bengals more,
and I think I might be provenright tonight. The more and more I
(01:01:49):
think about this game, the moreand more I keep leaning towards Cincinnati.
Thing you can tell with my takeright there, that is story number two,
because story number one. Most ofthe time on a Thursday, we'd
be talking about the NF fails. The story that leads off with les we
had postseason banksball, but an historicmove in Major League Baseball. Today,
my guy Sean Martin shout to him. Him and I were texting a little
(01:02:10):
bit, all right, sent hima tweet and then he called me,
and now realizing this live on theair, I haven't called him back.
I'm sorry, Sean, but localsports writer here, big ains fan.
The move is made. Major LeagueBaseball owners have approved the Oakland Athletics move
the Las Vegas. The vote happened, It's allowed. The A's are done
(01:02:35):
with Oakland. If you are anOakland sports fan, you've now seen the
Golden State Warriors leave and move outof that area closer to the I call
him the Tech Valley area, theSilicon Valley area of California. You've seen
the Oakland Raiders leave and had tolast Vegas and now and the Oakland Athletics
to that the move, showing howbad the ains has been ess the franchise,
(01:03:00):
whether it's not packing the coliseum, refusing to spend money. That Oakland
A's fan base has been very passionatebut small. Levac and I mentioned in
the past, and you can findthis is just a simple easy google Oakland
A's media, how they treated someof the radio stations, Our fellow radio
brethren, whether it's ninety five seventhe game, the proudest Schenectady Damon Bruce,
(01:03:22):
I'll give him some love. Howthe A's overplayed their hand constantly when
it came to media partners and more. And finally, when you start insulting
your fans and putting in a productin the field, DOODI wants to go.
It was embarrassing some of the shotsof A's home games this season.
So now they moved to Las Vegastwo thousand and five. By the way,
the last time we saw this happenwhen the Expos moved to DC.
(01:03:44):
You wonder about Vegas baseball. Iknow they've had the fifty one ers in
the past, but in similar fashionto where are you gonna get the water
for the stadium for the Raiders? The question is who's gonna want to sit
in one hundred and fifteen burning sunheat in Vegas and watch a baseball game
in June, July, and August. I guess the answer to that is
more people that would sit through theOakland Athletics games right now. And if
(01:04:04):
that's the answer, you're probably gonnabe better for the future. Now,
how does Vegas pull this off well. The continued support about Vegas fan bases
include even hockey. I gotta givethe the Knights some love to Stanley Cup
champions. Man, it seemed impossibleso many years ago that Vegas would have
anything to do with anything when itcame to professional sports, because oh no,
(01:04:27):
not gambling. No, And theworld has changed and things are gonna
be far different than before. Andthe least with the Oakland Coliseum ends in
the twenty twenty four seasons. Soif you thought it was bad in twenty
twenty three seeing the attendance for theA's, oh my, what's gonna happen
then? Because this Las Vegas superStadium for Baseball, Cordion reports, is
(01:04:51):
not gonna be ready until twenty twentyeight. So where are you guys going?
Huh? I mean, let medo the mas here Hobart helped me
here my Hobart education twenty twenty five, twenty twenty six, twenty twenty seven.
Yes, so you guys got likethree years before you move. You
(01:05:14):
had into Nashville or the Nashville Staris gonna be a thing for three years.
Gonna know, Nashville wanted a team, and there's always talking about Major
League Baseball, expaining that's almost adone deal, that maybe Nashville is just
gonna get their own franchise. Whereare you going for the next three years.
You could throw cities and teams inthe stadium like you could put a
band aid over this for all.I remember the Chargers played in a soccer
stadium for a while. You couldtry to figure this thing out. Remember
(01:05:36):
Oklahoma City, didn't They basically getthe thunder because they were the home for
the Hornets and the Pelicans during Katrina, and that's how Oklahoma City basically became
an NBA franchise city. Somebody's gonnaget this team for a while. But
it is an interesting thing to follow, and I'm glad it happened. I
feel for the fans of Oakland becausethey've had so many heartbreak. As we
just touched on there about teams justleaving. The owner could have stopped,
(01:06:00):
Yes, boycott the A's and everythingelse. The reverse protests they did this
past season, which is a highlightfor that. But the Oakland Athletics moneyball,
the rich history at times of thisteam having success. I remember the
A's were good in the early twothousands. The A's have now decidned.
Oakland's no longer their home. They'rehead down to the desert, have become
the Las Vegas A's maybe a differentteam. All these things, whether where
(01:06:24):
they're going to play in twenty twentyfive, twenty six, twenty seven,
what their name is going to be? Interesting storylines to follow. Everything you
hear today on social media, Iwon't believe except the one thing of they're
gone, They're leaving. That's yourtop four or four brought to you by
Mohawk Kanda, Mohawk Kanda where theyalways go on either the way to please
you. Before we get to ourconversations with Britdy Farcas and Kevin sweety two
(01:06:45):
five when eighty guys killing it coveringa variety of sports, I want to
tell you about our friends over atyous X Past Control. Yeah, like
La Knight. We like talking abouta USX pass Control because of what they
did for us, like an LaNight finishing move in the WWE Ussex Pass
Control. Tim and Frank drop thepast that were the uninvited guests in our
(01:07:06):
homes. So if you've got theholidays season coming up and you've decided,
Hey, I'm gonna host the Turkey'sgonna be in my place. Don't you
at least want to make sure yourhome is safe. You don't want the
annoying brother in law or your motherin law coming in and spot in a
past and saying, oh, didyou guys clean your home? Oh?
If you even check it out yourattic, I think I just food.
Why are you in the attic anyways? Why are you hanging out in the
(01:07:29):
garage. Don't even have those conversationswith your in laws for the holiday season.
Tell them, Hey, I justcalled USX pass Control. I was
listening to leavak ANDAs a local sportsradio show that you should listen to as
well. Here's their podcast. Here'show I can listen on the iHeart app
and then tell them how great USXpass Control is. And it's a free
inspection. So you call them upthe free inspection. They set the game
plan for you like Levac and Iknow, and you're on your way to
(01:07:51):
have to clean home and success forthe future keeping that at home safe as
the weather continues to change. Welove our friends over at us X pest
Control one more time, U SX pest Control give them a call today.
Our guy Bratdy Farcus is on theway. Next, Are the Patriots
really trading Bill Belichick? Is thisreally happening? Are the Celtics the best
(01:08:14):
team in the NBA? And Igot some I got some questions about what
the Red Sox could do in theAlas. That's all on the way.
Next, you're listening to Lavack andguys here on Fox Sports twenty five nine.
It's Lavack and guzz on ninety fivenine Fox Sports Radio, joining US
(01:08:54):
now Capitol Region's own. He isthe host of The Brady Farcus Show on
WDEV the Radio weekdays five thirty toseven. Host of The Payoff Pitch Brady
Farcas, the prod of Shed HighSchool, the pride of US we Go.
He's covering New England sports. Hedoes it all. Brady, Welcome
back to Fox Sports twenty five nineto ninety. It's been too long,
(01:09:14):
my friend. How are you?I am well, guys, Thanks for
having me. Hope you're well. Also, life is good. Thanksgivings a
week away, the big meals coming. All that stuff is good. We
have to dive into this off theget go. Though. This Bill Belichick
stuff, it is taking over thenational sports talk landscape. That he could
be on the move, he couldbe coaching a different team next season.
(01:09:35):
What if at all, are youhearing? What do you make of the
story of Belichick potentially leaving the Patriots. Oh, I think it's very real.
I think that I don't think RobertKraft wants Bill Belichick back next year.
That said, I think Robert Kraftis very, very classy. I
think Robert Kraft knows about the historyof the NFL. I think Robert Kraft
(01:09:58):
has a certain decora about him thathe wants to follow. So I think
he's going to try to do thisas gracefully and as easily as possible and
as nicely as possible. So Ithink the easiest thing to look at is
Bill Belichick being traded in the offseason, because you think about all the other
ways this could go. I don'tthink Robert Kraft just wants to out and
out fire the best coach in franchisehistory, the best coach in football history.
(01:10:23):
I don't think that Bill Belichick wouldgo for, Hey, you get
to stay, but you're not theGM. I think that could get real
ugly. The cleanest way to dothis is for Robert Kraft to trade Bill
Belichick in the offseason. That wayhe never had to fire him. The
Patriots still get something for him,and Bill still gets to go on to
a separate part of his career andeverybody moves on, you know, no
(01:10:45):
worse for the wear. I thinkthat is what I would do. I
think that's probably what Robert Kraft wouldprefer to do. We will see if
that's ultimately what happens. Though.Brady Farcus joining us here on the phone
line, so I could you canjoin him on associated with the conversations and
more and the radio Brady he joinsthe the Elevation ten thousand phone lines.
Elevate your brand today with Elevation tenthousand. The whole thing about Belichick that
(01:11:10):
drives me crazy about this, likewhat else is left for him? He's
won a bunch of Super Bowls? Is he just coaching because he's got that
coaching mindset of he doesn't know anythingelse and coaches with their seventies and eighties
just don't know life post coaching.Or is this shula record that important?
Does he want to like talk aboutthe Brady thing where it's like britty one
what maybe it's a mix of everything. Brady farcas, What do you think
(01:11:32):
is keeping Belichick around? I thinkthe Schula record matters, but ultimately I
think that Bill Belichick just loves football, right like, I think it's that
simple. Bill Belichick loves football.I don't think he wants to do something
not involved in football, and Ithink he still thinks he has something to
offer, and I think that hedoes. Frankly, I think Bill Belichick
(01:11:54):
the coach is still a very goodcoach. Bill Belichick the G has helped
ruin the Patriots, and Bill Belichickthe GM is why the Patriots are in
the situation that they're in. AndI think that Bill Belichick doesn't have a
great bedside man or I think he'sbeen catastrophic for Mac Jones, so he
is not perfect. But I dobelieve in the right situation with bright people
(01:12:16):
around him, that Bill Belichick isthe coach is still very very good and
is still very very with it.Let's just say it's Los Angeles. Let's
just say it's the Charger. Sothe Chargers make the move they bring in
Belichick. The expectation is in twentytwenty four because of the greatness that is
the Hoodie, that he's going tolead them to a Super Bowl. What
would be the realistic expectation making amove like this for Belichick? Well,
(01:12:39):
I think ultimately you want a teamthat's in a better position than the Patriots
are, and that would be alot of teams in the NFL. Right.
The Chargers have the franchise quarterback, right like, they have a guy
in Justin Herbert who's awesome. Theyhave what Belichick excels at, which is
defense. They have that in shadeswhen you talk about Khalil Mack and you
talk about both and you talk aboutIrwin James and the Sante Samuel Junior.
(01:13:01):
So you know, we've heard allthis stuff about the you know, Washington
potentially training form and what about theGiants bringing them back and all that,
But you know, I think theChargers is where I would want to go
if I were Belichick. And frankly, that division isn't as intimidating as we
thought it was going to be atthe beginning of the season, right Like,
the Raiders aren't that great, Denveris you know whatever. So it's
(01:13:23):
okay you and Mahomes, but it'snot a four team division like we thought
it was. So it's certainly adivision you can compete in. So a
lot of the places out there, the Chargers are where I'd want to go
if I were Belichick, But Iwould say this, right, Belichick has
a huge affinity for history. Washington'sa legacy franchise. They're in the NFC
East, the division with a lotof history to a division he knows well.
(01:13:45):
And he's from Annapolis, right.I know it's been a million years
since he's lived at home, butthat is home for him. So I
think, even though they're not asfar along as the Chargers are, I'd
watch Washington as well. He's thehost of the Brady Farcys Show on WDEV
Radio, the Payoff Pitch. Makesure to follow him on Twitter and WDEV
Radio. Britty the Product Shen BrittyFarcus joining us here on the Elevation ten
(01:14:08):
thousand phone lines. Elevate your brandtoday with Elevation ten thousand. Let's talk
about the Boston Celtics. This Celticexpectations that they could be an NBA champion.
You've seen the Celtics team early inthe season. I know it's tough,
especially with the oddness that is then season tournament. Christophs porzingis the
big man down low. Where doyou put the Celtics right now when we
talk about the best in the NBA. If we had a britty farcas power
(01:14:30):
ranking, would Boston be the numberone team in the NBA? In your
mind? They should win the title? Okay, the Celtics should win the
title. I don't know that they'regoing to, but they should win the
title. They are They have thebest starting five in the NBA. They
have an unbelieved probably the best topsix in the NBA. They have experience.
They have a good mix of youth, but youth that has become veterans.
(01:14:55):
They've gone out, they've made thebig moves right. They've got they've
got They're not a perfect team, but they've got defensive ability with Drew Holliday.
They've got playmakers with Holiday, JalenBrown and Jason Tatum. They've got
shooting on the outside. They've gotDerek White, who I hadn't described to
me yesterday by somebody else I thinksaid, well, like he's a superstar
disguise as a role player. Sothey should win the NBA title. I
(01:15:15):
still think, you know, inthe East, I still fear Milwaukee are
always gonna fear be honest with whatLillard might be able to do if he's
healthy. I think Cleveland is goodand interesting, but I think they're the
best team in the East, andI think they should be the favorite to
win the title. They were preseason. I don't see any reason why they
shouldn't be now. Yes, Denver'sstill excellent, and I fear them.
(01:15:35):
Golden State, you know, Ithink they're older. I don't know if
they're going to get to the titleseries, but if they did, I
fear them too. But so it'snot a runaway, but they should be
the favorite to win the NBA title. You mention some teams there at the
end, but in the East inparticular, the biggest threat to the Celtics.
Please say the Knicks. The Knicks, right's the answer? The Knicks
are not the answer. The Knicksare under five hundred and the Celtics have
(01:15:57):
beaten them twice already. And likewhen and I will say this, like
the Knicks play hard, they playedgood defense. When the Celtics play them
into a rock fight, like OpeningNight was kind of ugly, and the
other day the Knicks, you know, we're up being all off, you
know, double figures early and thenthat evaporated. The Celtics end up winning
that game by sixteen or whatever.I don't think the Nicks have enough scoring,
like they have size. They havesome things that can impact the Celtics,
(01:16:19):
but like if Brunson and Randall arenot going for twenty five to thirty
a pop, which so far theyhave it when these teams is played,
I don't think that they have thehorses to compete with the Celtics. The
thing, the thing that's gonna youknow, outside of injury, the thing
that can mess with the Celtics isdepth. By talking about their top six,
like that's what they have, Likeright now, they play like eight
(01:16:40):
guys and in the era of loadmanagement, I'm shocked that the Celtics are
playing all their starters every game andare only playing eight guys over the course
of the contest. So lack ofdepth, therefore foul trouble associated would start
whether with their starters could get tothem and their lack of interior size.
So if the Knicks one, we'regonna play super physical, then they can
they can threaten them, but Idon't ultimately think they could beat them in
(01:17:01):
the seven game seriod. We've talkedPatriots, We've talked Celtics. Let's shift
it over now to the Boston RedSox, a team that you heard all
the action here on Fox Sports ninetyfive, nine to ninety eighty. You're
home for the Red Sox. Aninteresting season for the Red Sox, especially
when you think about the success thatthe Al East head and the regular season,
but not so much the postseason. When you start looking towards twenty twenty
(01:17:21):
four, and I'm talking about Januaryin the offseason, what can Red Sox
fans expect about the course of thisteam's future heading over the next few months.
So they need help in a lotof different places, right Like,
you don't finish last because you're areally good team. So they're gonna need
two to three starting pitchers, andthey're gonna have to be active in the
(01:17:42):
high end pitture market, right Like. We've heard a lot about Yamamodo,
the guy from Japan. I thinkthey're gonna be in on him. We've
heard a lot about them meeting withJordan Montgomery. I think they're gonna be
in on him. Maybe they're goingto be on Blake Snell. So they're
gonna need probably two to three startingpitchers, at least one of which is
super high caliber. Luckily, startingpitching that's like the one and free agency
where there is a glut, soI think they'll be able to do that.
(01:18:02):
They need help at second base, and they need a right handed corner
outfielder with some power, so theyneed a lot. I think that Craig
Breslo, their new CHAF chief baseballofficer, is going to be given the
green light to spend. Like heis a smart guy and analytics guy and
Ivy League nerd, as he said, but he also is a thirteen year
MLB veteran, so like he haslike a good balance of everything and understanding
(01:18:24):
what a team needs but also whata clubhouse needs. So I think he's
going to be given a green lightto spend in a way that hym Bloom
wasn't. So I think they aregoing to be aggressive. I don't think
they're going to get Otani. They'renot going to bring back Justin Turner,
so they are gonna have questions offensivelyabout how to replace his offense. But
I think they're going to bring ina bunch of people. I think they're
going to see them trade some prospectsto go out and get guys. So
I think they're gonna better than theywere last year. It is a gauntlet
(01:18:46):
of a division, so I can'ttell you today they're going to finish first
in it, but I think they'regoing to be improved, and I think
Preslo is going to do a goodjob for New England sports fans, whether
it's Vermont, whether it's Massachusetts, even here in the Capitol Region. That's
a lot of stuff we covered involvedwith those teams. I know, my
god, Doug Goudy on w G, why is gonna get upset because I
had mentioned his Boston Bruins. That'sfor another I know that's for another day,
(01:19:06):
another time. But I want togive Brady this platform because he is
a Capital Region guy. This ishis city. You've always got some takes
about your hometown, whether it's aformer athlete that's here. Maybe you and
I have had many debates about privateversus public schools. This is your forum,
Brady. One week away from Thanksgiving, hopefully he'll be enjoying the Capital
(01:19:27):
Region and all the great things.Do you have a local take on anything
that you're hot about right now thatyou want to share it for the five,
one eight. I never thought Iwould forgive the Kings for giving up
on Jimmer, but says herders thereand he's in the starting lineup. I
am watching far more Sacramento Kings gamesthan I've ever thought possible in my entire
life. Again, he had twentyeight last night against the Lakers. I
(01:19:47):
think he hit six or seven brees. I watched most of that game.
So I'm Celtics in the seven toten window and Kings from ten o'clock on.
So I want a Celtics Kings Finalfinals. In the worst possible way,
I'm all in on Daron Fox,Keegan Murray, Demonta Sabonis and Kevin
Herder come out of the West.Let's do it. What I love about
(01:20:09):
Herder, not just the connections thatyou two have. But I'm not sure
if you saw the deleted tweet fromKevin Herder involving Milik Monk about Milik Monk
complaining about people's parlays, and thenHerder saying respectfully with the shouting emoji,
and then that tweet mysteriously going away. Herder made some headlines on social media,
but good like the guy who sitscourtside and starts screaming at the player,
(01:20:30):
I need a three for my parlot. Nobody cares about your parlay.
It used to be that nobody caresabout your fantasy team. The parlay in
sports, wagering guy has become worsenow in sports and herder. Let people
know about it. The worst personthat there is is fantasy guy and gambling
guy. That is the worst.Like, I will tell you quickly.
So before red Zone became on YouTubeTV and became readily accessible, right,
(01:20:55):
like, I'm a Seahawks fan bybirth and a Patriots fan by work,
I used to go to bars right, I would go to and lays,
I would go to Ravenswood wherever, and I would watch. I would watch
Seahawks games a Buffalo Wild Wings atClifton Parts and you know the Seahawks who
played in a tight game against theKaepernick led forty nine ers and it'd be
tight and the Seahawks would score, and I'd be going crazy because someone scored.
Then some loser behind me would go, oh, the Seahawks four.
(01:21:17):
I'm like, yeah he did.I'm trying to get the guy high five.
He's like, oh, it wascursed, not Baldwin. I needed
that TV fuddy. Nobody cares.I'm trying to win the NFC West title.
Not one person cares that you neededit to be Dune Baldwin and not
Jermaine Curse, or that you're madthat it was an eighteen yard touchdown instead
of a twenty yard touchdown. Ijust want the points. That's all of
my team needed to care Less aboutyour gambling thing, your fantasy team.
(01:21:41):
I don't care how much money yougot in the game. I don't care

(01:23:53):
these programs heading? Can we maybeeven see them heading to March Madness in
Saint John's College, bast so manygood things on the way from our friend
from Sports Illustrated, Kevin Sweeney. He joins us next Tara Levackings on Fox
Sports ninety five, nine and nineeighty. Before you hear from our friend
Kevin Sweeney from Sports Illustrating, Beforeyou get my play of the Day tonight
thanks to mohawk scheffer Leah, Iwant to send my friend's over at Lily

family owns and operated business a listof David Tamy g. I've worked with
(01:24:58):
all of them, whether it isthat engagement ring that I bought. I
got a text for my buddy Darrentoday's talking about his wedding bands and how
that comes together two for one weddingband sale or forty percent off, whatever
works better for you. And thencelebrating that anniversary finding that holiday gifted more.

(01:25:41):
you heard about it from right hereon Fox Sports ninety five nine at nine
eighty All right, Kevin Sue,any of the talks and hoops, It's
Lavak and Guzz on ninety five tonine Fox Sports Radio. If you follow
(01:26:15):
me on social media, Tom Goss, Tomgo is easy. You know this
interview was coming elevation ten thousand phonelines. Elevate your brain today with elevation
ten thousand, we go from BrittanyFarcas from Shed for another five point eight
guy. He covers college basketball forSports Illustrated. Unfortunately he has to hear
this every single time he's on theshow. Our former intern, but we're
very proud of him. It isKevin Sweeney joining us. Kevin, we're
(01:26:36):
gonna talk national college basketball. We'llget to my syrahcuse rant I want to
get your take on sen and youall. But all of that is important,
but what's maybe even more important isyou. I said almost viral.
The Deep Dish two thirty in themorning pizza binge. For those who don't
follow you on social media, takeus through what happened to you earlier this
(01:26:57):
week, involving some pizza and latenight college basketball. Yeah. So we
were at the Champions Classic in Chicago, Duke Mishig State Kansas, Kentucky two
autoin games, and wrapped up writingat probably twelve thirty, and my buddy,
who also covers college hoops, like, oh, we're doing a podcast
at our airbnb. Come through itsaid all right, fine, I'll come
(01:27:19):
on, Like I can't believe I'mstaying up this like to record a podcast.
Here we are. I show upand I, oh, by the
way, Deep Dish is on theway, let's roll And I was like,
Deep Dish, it's like one inthe morning, Like this is crazy
town. We drove past the Tacobell on the way. I was surprised
that that was not the food choice. But it doesn't fit great when you're
eating out at one in the morning. Come up, great, you are
(01:27:39):
a New Yorker. You've got theDeep Dish the Northwestern background. Are you
ready to proclaim that Deep Dish isgreater than New York pizza right now on
a Thursday, one week before Thanksgiving. I have an appreciation for deep Dish,
but it doesn't top me. OrNew York is still home. That's
the correct answer. This conversation willcontinue. Well done, We've talked you
well. It is Kevin Sweety fromSports Illustrate. Jono's here on the phone
lines. Elevation ten thousand, elevateyour brand. Today's the elevation ten thousand
(01:28:02):
phone lines. All right, Kevin, Before we get into these New York
teams, let's talk just like awide look at college basketball here in November
twenty twenty three for those who areslowly getting back into the college basketball mix.
A big one or two national headlinesor storylines that you're following the early
part of this season that maybe thecasual fan should keep an eye on.
Yeah, I mean, I thinkthe biggest thing that I'm watching is is
(01:28:27):
just you know, next week theMaui Invitational is all time good. I
mean we are talking three of thetop four teams in the AP pole,
five of the top eleven. Like, if you want your sample, or
just turn on ESPN for three daysMonday through ends that you'll get a taste.
I mean Well of Kansas with HunterDickinson, who just had twenty seven
and twenty one against Kentucky. Wellof Tennessee, who a lot of people
(01:28:48):
believe is a real national title threat. I'm among those people. Marquette with
Tyler Kohlett, there are standing pointguard. So there's been a lot of
a lot of talk in college basketlorthe early season schedule isn't good. Well,
if you haven't been watching, now'syour chance, because starting early next
week that the gang really ratch itup. I noticed you left out a
(01:29:09):
team in the Maui Invitational. It'sbecause you wanted me. You wanted me
to give the programming. Note thaton Monday, right here, on ninety
five, nine to nine eighty,we will air the Maui Invitational with Syracuse
taking on on Tennessee our coverage. You'll get underway at one thirty for our
pregame show, two thirty scheduled tip, and again with the college basketball tournament.
Just be aware those tips can changeand everything else. So let's talk
(01:29:30):
about the Syracuse Orange. And again, if you missed it, I was
complaining to Kevin. Kevin was showingthat cole Gata has been dominating Syracuse in
the most recent years, and itneeded the Orange the second greatest comeback in
their program's history, to take downthe Raiders. Inside the film earlier this
week, from a perspective of lookingat Syracuse optimistic, pessimistic was that when
more about what could come some victories, or that this change involving coach bay
(01:29:56):
Imny coach Autry might feel like arebuilding year for SARAHI basketball. I think
the fact that he was able togalvanize that group when they're down twenty plus
against a Colgate team that has beatenthem two years in a row, a
lot of those guys on the teamknow that or have been through at least
one of those losses, right,Like, to me, that was a
really positive time. And you know, I don't necessarily think of it as
(01:30:19):
a rebuild in the sense of likethere's no expectations, Like I don't.
I don't think making the n DOAATournament is unrealistic with this group. Like
I think the guard talent that theyhave with Judaments and JJ Starling is enough
to be in the mix and we'llsee what happens. Obviously, Maui getting
thrown into the deep end and mostyears, like Jerseys could expect to compete
(01:30:40):
in Malay. I know they thinkthey have a perfect historical record there that
will likely change just because of thestrength of this field. But you know,
I think it'll be a great litmustest, like let's see how they
battle. Let's see how these guardslook when they're faced up against the best
teams in the country. And I'mexcited for I think. I think Red's
done a nice job so far.I think he's like the guys are brought
in and that's a good sign headinginto you know, the meat of the
(01:31:02):
schedule. It might be too earlyto ask this question, but I was
thinking about firing this text off toyou so I can say to you now
over the phone when that transition happenedbetween coach Beheim retiring, leaving resigning.
We'll figure out one year what termthat actually was and what he did.
But shouldn't there have been at leasta discussion of colegate of that coach potentially
(01:31:23):
taken over for the Orange in statethe success. I believe the Raiders have
gone to five straight NCAA tournaments takingout the COVID year, so four technically,
But he should have been a candidateto potentially take over the Orange program.
You would think with the success he'shad recently, the fact that Matt
Langele is still at Colgate is crazyto me. I mean, he is
one of the best coaches in mymind in college basketball. That's not an
(01:31:44):
easy job. They run incredible offense, obviously, just the big reason that
Church has struggled with them is justhow dynamics they are shooting the basketball.
You know, he was in themix a little bit at Temple, couldn't
get as much traction as like alot of people thought he's a Philly guy
at heart. You know, Ithink Yorck you search was just like a
lot of these big searches that havehappened when Legends hired Duke with coach k
to Shire, Carolina with Roy toHubert. You know, it's been it's
(01:32:09):
been challenging for anyone outside the familyto get an attraction just because of the
wingering influence that the big, bigname former coach has. But certainly like
I think the world of Matt Langleand I think he he will get a
bigger job sooner rather than coach kRoy Williams, Jim Beheim, Jay Wright,
(01:32:30):
tomz Will still there at Michigan Stateout of the Spartans have had a
weird start there with the loss andthe James Madison thing. But there is
another coach I didn't mention yet thathas New York ties, and that's Rick
Patino at Saint John's. The Johnny'sthey got some talent Kevin City. Could
they be an NC Double League TournamentMarch Madness qualifying team as soon as that
first year for coach Patino with theRed Storm. Yeah. I think the
(01:32:50):
optimism in the offseason was was prettyhigh. Came back down to earth a
little bit after they got blown outby Michigan at the Garden in their first
real tests. You know, I'mnot selling all this Dock. I think
it's going to take time. Like'sa great coach, but he's not a
magician, right, and you havetwelve new players and you try to teach
them how he wants to play. It's going to it's going to be touch
(01:33:12):
and go early on. But Ithink the experience level that they have of
older guys who've played high level collegebasketball like Chris Ledlum from Harvard, George
Dingle from pen those guys will helpthem a lot, and I think they
have a chance to be, youknow, right in the mid path of
the Big East and make the AntillarTournament. I mean, that's the barometer
for a successfully year ten Sint John'sget in the dance. They've been so
(01:33:33):
you know, they've been so downthe last several years. Just getting to
the tournament I think would be ahuge win. I'm not sure that they
can do it, but I thinkthey'll be in the next Phillies Sports talking
college basketball here with Kevin Sweeney hisfive eight ties. We're happy to have
him. He covers college basketball forSports Illustrated and he joined us here on
the Elevation ten thousand film lines.Elevate your brand today with Elevation ten thousand.
(01:33:53):
We haven't talked about CNN and youAlbany. These teams can together.
For the first question, the factthat the Albany Cup is back next Sunday,
we will see these two schools faceoff. With your background here in
the Capital region, what does itmean locally to see this rivalry renewed again
between CNN and U Albey. Well, I'll be there hope for Thanksgiving by
(01:34:14):
and see involved. But I mean, look, it's great. I mean,
I grew up around it. Ithink, Yes, there's always politicking
with all these rivalries we see. It's obviously not unique to this area,
with you know, Oklahoma and OklahomaState now bickering, and obviously the history
with Texas and Texas A and Mthings like that. So playing games when
schools are close by is always muchharder than it seems like it should be.
(01:34:38):
But I just think for fans ofcollege basketball in the area, those
games were special to me, soI'm certainly glad to see it back.
We'll start with the Great Danes intheir program. Everything that's changed, whether
it's players coming in and coming outin the COVID hiring and post Will Brown,
it still seems now a few yearsremoved from the hiring of a new
coach for the Great Danes that itjust hasn't felt like a US with Will
(01:35:00):
Brown and the inconsistency that it's reallytough to figure out how success is coming
through the Spray Tane program because ofall the constant change coming in and out
of that program. Yeah, Imean, I think Dwayne Killing has walked
into a difficult situation given you know, Will Brown certainly had his supporters in
this area, and I think whenyou're when you're the only guy who's really
(01:35:21):
done it at a place like willWas, I think it was more challenging
than people would have probably realized. And I think Killings has earned some of
the criticism in the first two years. I think they're pretty talented on caper.
This year, now you know they'regoing to have to continue to improve
the gotten handled by a pair ofyou know, bigger programs than you.
Mask and Seeden Halls have good talent, but you know, I think this
(01:35:45):
is the year where you're these arehis players. This is you know,
beagle Back as a sophomore, someof the transfers that they brought in.
This is where you have to startshowing progress, and obviously it's a good
time to do it with the newarena as well. I've talked about Mico
Ealy for CINNA being like no otherathlete we may have ever seen in the
camp in a region before, andwhat I mean by that is that Michael
Ely's been no doubt affected by nil. We've got the scene smart John.
(01:36:09):
We saw Jalen Pick in the pasttransfer go to Penn State, move on
to a professional career. So thereis this clear focus at Sienna of we've
got a really good player, howdo we keep them here? And then
he gets hurt and Sienna's look prettypoor the first two games Covin out.
I'm like battling here, Like,is Ely that important of a player?
Does Sienna still have some offensive thingsthey need to fix? This is another
(01:36:29):
one, just like you Walbaty, that's tough to figure out. But we
know Ealy's good, but he can'tbe visking to throw off the scenes this
much early in the season. Imean, I think it's the combination of
Ealy being injured, Sean jury,Gordon's waiver getting denied. He was another
key part of our team on paper, and then just how young they are,
right, Like, if like MichaelEely being your best player one thing,
(01:36:50):
it's another thing when like him notbeing out there means you're throwing freshmen
into the fire. I mean,I was texting with a friend in college
basketball and he said, yeah,Rar's running a day care out of there
right now. I mean, itis very very young, and I think
talented enough, right I think thereare some really nice young pieces on the
team, But when you lose yourbest player. All of a sudden things
(01:37:11):
get shaky, so obviously hope he'sback sooner rather than later. For the
saint that I think. You know, Karm has shown the ability to kind
of mix things up as years goon and find a way after slow starts.
To know, in twenty one twentytwo they were like zero and four
and getting blown out every night andturned out to coming third in the league.
So you know, I wouldn't Iwouldn't be raising too many alarm bells
early, but obviously they need Elelyback, who I think can be right
(01:37:34):
there for that player of the year. He is Sports Illustrated's Kevin Sweeney.
He will be in the camp ata region next week, so get the
the alerts on your phone. Stalkhim if you want see I'm going to
opposite directions. You're coming to Albany. I'm going to Syracuse. But there
could be some potential overlay here.On a Sunday, Levac and I are
rivers from eleven to one. Maybepotentially we see you at the Sports Book
(01:37:58):
Kunos. The invite is open ifyou somehow in your very busy schedule.
That's where we hope to see youon Sunday, next Sunday, Kevin Sweeney.
All Right, I always love theship to SIXTEENA, so when we'll
make it happen, Thank you fordoing this, man, We appreciate it.
As always. We are so proudof you. We always want to
say that because you're killing it andrepresenting the five one eight. We will
talk in soon and have the happyThanksgiving hope we bump into each other next
(01:38:19):
week. Thank you, sir, happy thank you. There it goes our
pal, Kevin Sweeney from Sports Illustrator. If you missed any of that interview,
make sure to go back, andyou missed any Today show, go
back Apple, Spotify, download it, put on those automatic downloads in the
top right corner, or if you'relistening on the iHeart app, it's right
there. Just click on Levak andGas. You can set your automatic downloads
as well on the iHeart app. It's time for the play of the day,
(01:38:42):
thanks to our friends in Mohawks Chevrolet, Mohawk Chevrolet, where they always
go out of there way to pleaseyou. So Ravens begles tonight, let's
focus in on the Thursday night footballgame. We've had such a packed show
today, we haven't dove deep intoWeek eleven action, maybe how we should
now when we talk about the playof the day, usually Levac and I
right out of the gate say thisis what we like, whether it's Tannessy
football, bas whether it's an overunder, whatever it is, we try
(01:39:04):
to find it. This is oneof these nights where I advise right now
in game play. This is anin game play tonight. If you have
apps, I'm not gonna tell youwhich app to use because you might find
a number differently throughout the game. But for me, this is an in
game play. And here's how Iplayed tonight's Ravens Bengals game, So if
you missed it for whatever reason overthe last eight years, I'm a Lamar
(01:39:26):
Jackson fan, even though he torchedmy beloved Syracuse oreon and I was there
at that game watching him leap overdefenders. I think Lamar Jackson's awesome and
a time's still underrated when it comesto the national leadie because it's so easy
to say he can't throw. Weall know that's not true at this point.
However, here's how I see thisgame play. Now. Baltimore has
been so good this season. Baltimoreshould have won. Last week, Baltimore
(01:39:47):
had the lead, but could ithold on against Cleveland because of a late
second half interception in Cleveland ends uppulling that thing off. Can't that same
thing happen tonight? If you're playingin game like the hook is on the
side of the Bengals, Raven's leastslay at the wind, Ravens three and
a half point favorite. What doyou do with that hook? Here's how
I see this game going. Raven'sgonna a big lead, ten nothing,
(01:40:10):
thirteen to three, double digit lead. Bengals maybe try to get frustrated and
try to force some throws out there. I'm just I'm benching Joe Mixon,
which could come back to bite mebecause I'm in so many tight fantasy football
leagues. But with other options onmy fantasy leaks, if you're not that
deep at running back, you justcan't put Mixon on the bench. I'm
lucky I can. I don't thinkhe's gonna have a big game against Baltimore's
defense. But what happens is this, Baltimore gets the lead in the second
(01:40:34):
half, Joe Burrow gets to airit out a little bit. In the
strength of the Bengal offense is lettingJoe Burrow do his thing. If it
was up to Zach Taylor. Heis one of these coaches like Sean McVay,
like Andy Reid, that would throwthe ball every single time. He
doesn't want to run the ball. Why would I. I have Patrick Mahomes,
(01:40:55):
why would I want to do that? Matthew Stafford with McVeigh when he
was healthy, Why would I wantto run the ball? I don't eve
want to ring on my team.McVeagh made it pretty obvious. Zach Taylor
is the same way. It's nottoo long ago. When Higgins is healthy
and Chase is healthy and Boyd ishealthy, that's the best wide receiving core
in the NFL. And I've gota number one pick, a Heisman Trophy
winning quarterback who's a franchise changer, and Joe Burrow. Of course, I
(01:41:17):
don't want to run the football withJoe Mixon. That happens in the second
half. So I would play thisin game, potentially even Bengals money line
in game, depending on if it'sa smaller than a double digit lead for
Baltimore. So right now, ifyou force me before five o'clock to pick
a number, I would take theBengals just with the hook, but the
better value somewhere closer in Andy, certainly in her life. For the better
(01:41:41):
value for you could be plus money. Play in the second quarter or early
in the third. If the Bengalsare trailing, you find that three and
a half number, move the linea little bit and get back on it
in the middle of the game.So that's why play tonight. Mix in
if you've got deep running backs,he goes to your bench. Hope it
don't cost you a Fantasy football playoffsand then in game Bengals against Ravens tonight
(01:42:03):
tomorrow some of our favorites. We'vegot Fantasy versus Reality at four tony.
We've got a college football and previewfor the weekend and more. That's a
fronde showing our guy Levec. We'llbe back in studio the GT Toys Studio
Toys with z. I'll leave backhere with all the Arena Football League action
news and more from his day inthe Big Apple. That's all coming up
tomorrow. But before we get out, we gotta tell you about our friends
(01:42:25):

you. I didn't see Scar showLevk's beautiful truck out in the iHeartMedia parking
lot today, but it will beback tomorrow. If you're looking for a

week. Love seeing everybody there. There's such a great staff of people,
an incredible venue. I'm gonna calla venue. You know you just car
dealership. It is a venue whenyou stop into Mohawks Chevrolet for all the
(01:42:47):
things they can offer to you.If you have a certain style of vehicle
that you've wanted or people in yourfamily have continued to buy a year after
year, make sure if that stylefits with Mohawks Chevrolet's given you. But
you recommend them find the vehicle you'relooking for. Where twenty twenty fours are
there, let's drive, let's buildthat future together at Mohawk Chevrolet. Love
the Mohawk family, but Mohawks Chevroletalways bring us to the play of the
day and we appreciate them doing that. All right until tomorrow. A Friday
(01:43:11):
show coming up. Great things onthe way, Enjoy Cavino and Rich They're
on the way next till then, wash your hands, don't touch your face.
The Lovac guys here are Fox Sportsninety five, nine and nine eighty
