(00:00):
In ninety five point nine half backneeds time for the Top four four with
Levac and Guz. Time for thefour Bagging Stories in the world of sports,
brought to you by our good friendsat Melhawk Hana, where they always
go out of their way to pleaseyou. Guys, what's the fourth biggest
story in sports? If we wentback to way back in January of twenty
(00:22):
twenty three, then March of twentytwenty three, then heading into this fall,
I was really interested in how wewould view this athlete. Maybe not
who you're thinking about. It's women'scollege basketball player Angel Reese. You remember
that feud with Caitlin Clark back inthe NCAA tournament. The Bayou Barbie she
called herself, and I had said, the Four Letter Network's gonna struggle in
(00:45):
covering her because they're gonna make herout to be the villain. In certain
ways, they've hyped up college basketballplayers and athletes they've decided to hype up.
Well, Angel Reese has come outover the course of the last few
months in the summer and stine shemakes more money at LSU than she in
the WNBA. I bet that's real. We joke about it with the NBA
versus male basketball players. I betshe makes way more. She's a bigger
(01:07):
start. There's more people who knowwho she is than you know Della Donna
or whoever in the in the WNBA. And I bring her up because she's
been out for the last four gameswith a team suspension. There's been rumors
that she wasn't going to class. Now before we judge Angel Reese, if
you're getting paid millions of dollars, would you be going to class? She's
back Kim Maulke controversial as well withsome of her statements. Politically, we
(01:29):
back. We're talking about women's collegebasketball and a women's basketball player in the
top board four in albody in LSU. But I think she deserves a conversation
because she is a pioneer in women'ssports, because of what she's doing financially
and popularity wise. The college loveis that too? Is that too strong
of a term I used there withpioneer? I know, but I think
(01:52):
I dare I say you're being narrowminded by defending her right now? Oh
okay, And I'm with you becausebasically you're saying what I think a lot
of people would say. Let's cutthrough the bs. She is not there
to you know, master an accountingor you know, a nursing program,
or or any other great job thatanyone of us would be lucky to have.
(02:15):
She's there to play basketball and eventuallyadvance to a professional basketball league,
whether it be you know, inthe United States or abroad. The issue
is that with the nil deals nowbeing legal, now I'm allowed to give
you money for your name, image, and likeness, there's even thinner of
(02:37):
a line between a pro athlete anda college athlete. The one thing I
need you all to do for alittle while, I need to suck it
up and go to class. Idon't care if you pass. I just
need you good enough show up.Yeah, she needs to show up.
I need you to go to classso I can say that's a student athlete.
Sure, it's a student athlete probablymaking ten million dollars this year.
But you know there's a reason wecall it work. Some parts of it
(02:59):
suck. I need right now tokeep the line between pro athlete and student
athlete. I need you great peoplewho are bringing all this money into our
universities to act like students a littlebit. Is she the best women's college
basketball player ever? Know, isshe the best in my lifetime? No?
(03:19):
Do I find her more interesting, charismatic, entertaining, polarizing than maybe
any other women's college Hell, maybeany other women's athlete besides like Hope Solo
or other athletes who brought the controversyout of themselves. Yes, I find
her so interesting and so unique inthe sports world. Story number three involves
a very unique athlete who's decided tocall it a career, and New York
(03:40):
sports fans might be very happy aboutthe end of his career. That's former
Philadelphia Eagle wide receiver to Shaun Jackson. Fourteen seasons in the NFL, a
variety of teams he played for.He might be most well known by a
New York sports fan for the miracleat the Metalwlands too. We back earlier
this month we talked about the despisedcurrent opponent for New York fans. I
(04:03):
think Trey Young still fits that bill. It's odd where the Red Sox rivalry
stands and other teams, But whendo we think about the history of New
York sports. I think the ShawnJackson is gonna be looked at as one
of the most boot athlete in NewYork's history and what could have been if
chip Kelly kind of just backed offa little bit. Jackson a great career,
(04:23):
but it almost felt like there wasa little left on the table because
Chip Kelly couldn't figure that out.Uh, DeShawn Jackson most hated non New
York sports athlete in New York thatyou probably couldn't pick out of a lineup.
It's pretty good, like you,and I know he is like you
know who Trey Young, you seeReggie Miller, you know you see them
(04:44):
right away, David Ortiz, allthose guys. We see your face.
Most people who hate DeShawn Jackson wouldn'thave no idea what he looks like.
They have no idea. He youknow, amazing plays man. I mean,
what are you gonna do? Likethe he and there was a point
in time where he was the mostelectrifying athlete in the NFL, and he
played in enough different places. I'mglad he's not doing the one day contract,
(05:09):
but I do like that he's goingon retiring. That's it. There's
something to the effect of like GailSayers for really old school, but Dante
Hall meets Tyreek Hill meets Percy Harvinhe was like the first one of super
skinny, super fast, but canmake it happen in the NFL. What
if Devin Hester was good enough atcatching football so he could play offense and
(05:30):
special teams? There you go,Devin Hester is another great one. Devinsters
was better, He was better atspecial teams, but he wasn't He wasn't
a third of the wide receiver ToshaunJackson. We've got a local story here
for story number two, and it'srare that we on a sports show take
what's a headline cover story in localpapers and cover it as a sports story.
But if you've missed this, theCollege of Saint Rose could be no
(05:54):
more. We're talking about a Divisiontwo athletic program that's national championship contender women's
soccer coach Brian Ury and coach WillBrown coaching the men and women's team right
now. But if you haven't readthe story, I'd recommend the way the
al, the the great Jordan Goslowski, one of the best female bollyball players
of all time. That is mywife, Salma Matter, along with our
(06:14):
guy or producer, Matt Woods, along with a lot of Brian Mariano,
Zach Bye, out in Denver,a lot of great Saint Rose alumni,
my buddy Dave Apaolo, I mean, like, how far do we want
to go with this? We youlist them all. I bring up Saint
Rose because the cover story today talksabout the school being forty eight million dollars
in debt, and then it lookslike New York State is not going to
bail out Saint Rose. Could SaintRose close as soon as the end of
(06:35):
the year, within the next twentyfour to forty eight months, when potentially
Saint Rose could be no more?Is the story that's gonna be talked about
here locally. I bring this upon a sports show because levec, we're
talking about a Capitol region athletic programthat's produced talent, continues to be a
competitor, but we could see itcompletely take it off the map because of
(06:55):
financial situations involving the college. I'mnot sure if you had an opportunity to
read the story today, but SaintRose, potentially's athletic program going away seems
like something we got to talk abouthere today. We're gonna do it right
here on the top board. Forwhat I don't what I noticed that is
like colleges are basically a license toprint money, you know, tuition and
all these things. Does Saint Rosenot charge tuition? Like? Are they?
Are they the one school that doesn'tcharge anywhere? To go there?
(07:17):
Saint Rose's enrollment over the past tento fifteen years has fallen from four thousand
students to two thousand, three hundredstudents, so they're almost half of their
enrollment recently. Plus if you remember, especially locally, depending on where you
live here in the Campital region whereyou're listening, there was a lot of
construction, a lot of investments onSaint Rose, a lot of buildings bought,
and they thought, okay, ifwe buy these buildings. I don't
(07:39):
want to quote one of your mostdespised movies, but if you build it,
they will come. If we addall these housing and schools and buildings,
the students will match it. Thatnever happened, Oh, by the
way, too, Like they didn'tmake a big deal about it, like
not like like if you you goup and down the road, you're gonna
see a billboard for seeing, you'regonna see something for you, You're gonna
(08:00):
see something. Heck, Hudson Valleyeverywhere, like there's stuff. Ever,
Saint Rose was almost like there wasalmost an arrogance to it. Yes,
you know, like, well we'resaying, Rose, you'll come here anyway
and listen again. We listed alot of great people have gone to Saint
Rose and become very successful since,so obviously they're doing something right. I
also have never understood how they didn'tget a ton of money out of the
(08:22):
Golden Knights when the when the hockeyteam goes, hey, you know,
we we're gonna need to talk aboutthis whole trademark thing. They don't just
go, yeah, howuch forty eightforty eight million dollars, it's yours?
Like what Like when I moved outto Albany and twenty fifteen, I was
kind of learning the lay of theland and the cities and the schools.
I'll say his name. I wastalking to Zach Bye. I'm not trying
to get Zach your trouble by hemeans, but he was a two athlete
(08:43):
in similar fashion to my wife hitSaint Rose, and I said like,
hey, like D two is toughbecause you get partial scholarships, but you
gotta make that money back. Likehow does Saint Rose do money wise?
And attendance wise, and I'm like, oh, no, gosh, they're
struggling, like there's issues with money. Now again, I'm not saying Zack
sniff it out, But the moreand more I lived here, the more
and more people would bring this upto me, like, hey, you
(09:03):
know, Saint Rose is in aweird spot athletically, and now something will
have to monitor on a sports showof what it means for the basketball programs,
in the soccer programs in baseball aswell. I don't want to see
sports go away in the Capitol region. I thought the colleges were the safe
ones. Maybe not so much.Store Number one. Aaron Rodgers back on
the practice field. I don't knowwhat's more bizarre that a college might shut
(09:24):
down its college programs or that AaronRodgers three plus months away from ripping up
his achilles. I don't know howto describe that night tear seventy nine days,
it's not even three months. Heis back up week, He's back
up the practice field. The activationwindow, I like that term has been
opened by the Jets. Will AaronRodgers return this season when I'm talking about
(09:46):
an actual regular season game. Willthe Jets stay in contention? What happens
going forward. You could follow allthose updates here on Lavack and guyz is
the wager of if Rogers takes thefield in the regular season, it results
in me putting my card down atRivers Casino and people walking up and buying
drinks is now a possibility. Well, I like the way you wered at
that time. It almost sounds likeyou put your card down, but they
still to pay for their own drinks. I feel like they kind of felt
(10:09):
that way, Like I like thatone. Here, here's here's the deal
one. Adam Scheffer reported that justbecause the twenty one day window was open,
it doesn't mean like, oh,twenty one days from now he will
play. Twenty one days can comeand go and he may never play this
season. I think him being atpractice is very good for the Jets.
(10:30):
He built this team, Like ifyou look at the majority of this rosters
because he wanted them there, thecoaching STAPs because he wanted them there.
So I think having him be thereis gonna be a good good for morale,
good for a lot of things.May even be something where we actually
see Zach Wilson play somewhat productive footballbecause he's got his mentor with him.
Now he's gonna play. I justI just feel like he's gonna play.
(10:52):
I don't know how it's gonna end. He could literally take the ball from
under center, step back and hiswhole leg explode, you know, like,
but it just feels like he's gonnaplay. I feel like I've said
this a lot in the post COVIDworld of sports, the question of what
am I missing? I remember whenTrey Lance got drafted and he barely played
at North Dakota State, and Ithought, what am I missing? Why
(11:15):
do people think he's good? Iremember Mac Jones two is in the same
equation. I'm like, why isMack he played one year? What am
I missing? There are certain timesin sports that it feels like how we
evaluate or talk about things don't makesense like they used to. Now this
one is one of them. Weall have seen athletes tear their achilles.
It's been season ending, career alteringinjuries, and now he's only out for
(11:39):
seventy nine days. It might play, and he might play when the Jets
are four and ten or four andeleven. What am I missing? Maybe
we'll find that out, or maybewe never will. Oh you didn't know
that the sounds of dolphins mating wasgood for healing. That's what you didn't
know. I didn't know that.Maybe that's what I was missing. You
didn't know. So apparently if twois getting it on you hear it?
Oh wrong, dolphins? Never mind? All right? Sorry, I'm missing
(12:01):

(13:54):
over one hundred and twenty two millionParsley or Elevation ten thousand, Elevation tenk
com. Now this is the thisis the team that's gonna back your team.
It's gonna elevate your brand. LikeI always say, like when you're
talking to people and they go,oh, how did you know? How'd
you come up with that advertising plan? How'd you do this? Everyday's like
I got a guy, I gota guy. Now you have a team
(14:15):
at elevation ten thousand. It's prettyamazing. It's been something I've been very
proud to deal with. Actually,I'll be making an Elevation ten thousand announcement
tonight as part of Flock You.Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. You're the
first to hear that. So thatthat announced me coming tonight as part of
Flock You over at BUCA Debepo. But it's because we just continue to find
(14:37):
new ways for Elevation ten thousand tohelp us grow our brand. It's been
very very cool for us as ashow. It's been very very cool for
you know, me as a guywho helps run football teams. They work
with the Sienna and you Albany. Now they're they're helping both local major universities.
Speaking of which you Albany has avery big weekend coming up. I'm
sure Elevation ten thousands all over thatthey got the big sign out there on
(15:00):
Bob Ford Field for Elevation ten thousand. So elevate your brand with Elevation ten
thousand. Fox Sports Radio ninety five, nine and nine. And of course,
we are thrilled right now to bejoined by one of my favorite people
in the Capitol region. Even thoughI think that is not that's not mutual
anymore. He's picking on me alot lately. Head football coach from you
(15:20):
alviny mister gregorytus So, how areyou, sir? I'm doing well.
It's nice to hear your voice.I knew so after your your last win,
which was phenomenal. Dwayne Hollis, who is the defensive coordinator for the
Firebirds Damon Ware head coach re Ebers, came back and went, yeah,
Gatusa's not happy with you. Mansays your big time in him. I
(15:45):
think you made them nervous. Well, it was nice to see them there
and looking forward to get what Damonand exchanging hats one of these days when
the season is over, so hopefullyit's in a few weeks down the road
a little bit. But yeah,it was to see those guys at the
game and to let them know mydispleasure with their You know you, you
(16:07):
know that I would rather hang outwith you than just about anybody else in
this area. And if the factthat I'm actually busy enough that I can't
do it should tell you that I'mfinally growing up just a little bit.
That's good. Well, I letyou slide. I just I have a
cigar with your name on it,and I wanted to use it, So
maybe when maybe when it's craziness endsright before your craziest begins, we'll find
(16:29):
some time in there. I wouldlove that an let's talk so the you
all, any football team, thisis this has got to be the best
team that we've been blessed to seehere in the Capitol region as far as
you know, I know you've hadsome really good squads. I know,
you know, you know back inthe day, different divisions, different levels,
there's been good squads. But thisteam that you guys have built over
there with the great days, ittop to bottom. This is this is
(16:51):
the best talent we've seen around here, right you know, they're definitely I
would think in that top conversation foryou all, for other people. But
you know, there's a lot oftalent on the team. There's NFL scouts
that practice, you know all throughthe regular season. You know, we've
got guys that people were looking atand there's a lot of talent and they're
playing well. You know, Ithink you know, this football team is
(17:12):
on both sides. You know, you really need to be good on both
sides of the ball and in specialteams to get to the position wining right
now. And I think that's happenedthis year, and I think, you
know, you credit credit a lotof people. The coaches, assistant coach
has done a great job. Butat the end of the day, it's
the kids. You know, thethe Dylan Kelly's and Anton Junkas and A
(17:34):
J Simons, Larry Walker, justgo through that whole defensive uh really all
American caliber players and it's done. You know, our first team All Conference
have played very well for a Deanor John has been great. So you
know, we have a lot ofguys like that. And you know in
offense, reachs Papa Barder has beenseller you know, is playing great.
(17:55):
And our local product is doing reallywell. Griffin Wodell is everybody loves Griffin
now around the area. He's beengreat for us. And so you know
it's a good football team. Andyou know, we got a big game
Saturday, and I hope people comeout and cheer us on. I have
two top programs right now, andRichmond and al Maney playing for the chance
(18:15):
to move on into the deeper partof the playoffs. Coach could do so
with this right now. Yeah,I mean you listed the names and that
was a lot of those names andmore have been awarded something for this season.
You guys gonna start building trophy shelvesor are these guys taking everything with
them? Well, they certainly cantake them with them. We want them
to have all that. But it'sfunny you say that. I literally I
(18:37):
have these two giant trophies sitting outsidemy office, and every day I walk
by, I'm thinking it might betime for a trophy case. So you
might be onto something there. Andwe finally have enough to put in there
to fill it up, and sothat's something I definitely want to do.
But it's been fun. I think, you know, the kids have been
great. We really have a youknow, I've been doing this a long
(18:57):
time, and if you have goodteam teams and struggling teams, and there's
groups that are fun to be around, and these guys are unbelievable. I
mean, the energy of practice, the fund that we're having, the hard
work that's going in is it's beenreally a special year with this crew.
You know, obviously, you knowI was going to make it about me.
Thank you for making me look smartbecause I've been telling people the since
(19:19):
you know, that last playoff team. If you guys were never forced to
push pause because of COVID. Iknow nobody's gonna feel sorry for you over
COVID because everybody had to push pause. But I feel like this team would
have happened a year or two sooner. Like, I feel like this was
the path you guys were on,and you know, you've you've embraced certain
things. I never thought you'd bea transfer portal guy, and but you
(19:40):
guys are really good at it now. But like, is this this has
got to feel And I know you'renot personal, you don't like, you
don't pat yourself on the back. It's got to feel a little vindicating to
have this kind of a team rightnow. Well, you know, I
think, you know, I thinktalking to Mark Benson when this we lived
through the process of the pandemic,it's not comparative to compare sports to people's
(20:00):
lives and the damage that was doneto people. But in the athletic world,
we're one of a few programs atthe Division one level that had to
go through what we did with theisolation. We had no practices in the
year twenty twenty, none and sowhat happens is all that momentum we built
(20:22):
in twenty nineteen in recruiting. Wethought we were going to have a great
year in recruiting. We lost allthat we thought our kids were going to
come back. We lost all theconditioning, the strength and conditioning, the
practice, and it hurt us,you know, And I think twenty two
is our rebound year, even thoughwe didn't have a record that anybody wanted.
We were in. You know, you lose five games by less than
the touchdown and you feel like thatcould have easily been a successful year.
(20:45):
So it certainly hurt our momentum fromnineteen. But you know, that's it
is what it is. You haveto survive it, and our kids have
and we just are you know,we we live with this transfer portal because
we have to. It's not myfavorite thing, but we've been operating really
well in it, and our guys, our coaching staff is just grinding on
that every day. It's it's it'sa mess in there, Jeff. Let
(21:08):
me let me tell you that. But you know, we're trying to prepare
teams, we're trying to recruit, you know, I mean, really,
when you have a great group ofpeople helping around you and doing all this
work, it kind of makes youlook good and that's you know, you
get a Coach of the Year award, but it's really dedicated to the people
that are doing all the work. And that's I think we have two of
(21:29):
the best coordinators in FCS and SharedAmbrose and and Billy Neswill Joe Be's done
a great job with our special teams. But this other group of guys has
been outstanding. Listen, I'll letyou, I'll let you be humble.
You on, I'm gonna I'm gonnapound my chest for you that that Coach
of the Year award is well deserved. You are a leader of one and
I I watch what you do,I see how you work, and you
(21:51):
deserve it. You've probably deserved itfar sooner the fact that you got it.
I'm one of those guys. Ialways feel like my favorite team,
my player, and my coach, they get ripped off. It's nice to
see one actually get the award todeserve. So, so you go ahead
and be humble. I'm gonna goahead and crow for you. If that's
okay, Well, I appreciate that, but it's really not humility. You
know that you're you're part of ateam sport, and you understand that dynamic
(22:12):
is is. It's fragile and whenit gets when it gets broken up,
it's hard to rebuild and it takestime. And I think, you know,
putting a group of people we hadtogether in this coaching staff that we
ended with in the last two yearshas really been a big part of this.
But it really comes back to thesekids and the leadership of the team.
(22:33):
And you know, we're a youknow, we're not a I'm not
big on banners and slogans and allthat stuff. I just really push them
to I asked them to police themselves. Great teams. Great teams are do
things the right way because they wantto, and when someone steps out of
line, they control that. AndI think that's a big part of who
we are. And you know, they're just they come to work every day.
(22:56):
You know, that's a that's peoplecan identify with that. I mean,
it's no different in sports. Ifyou if you go to work every
day and bust your tail, there'sa good there's a good end at the
day of that. And I thinkthat's what we're seeing right now. We've
just got a good group of kids. I love them, and they play
their tails off every week. Youal any football coach Gregor Tusso with U
Lavak and Gys Fox Sports Radio ninetyfive, nine nine eighty. Okay,
(23:18):
so here's the deal is Saturday premiumseats forty bucks. I mean, like
like the premium gold back seats areonly forty bucks. There isn't a bad
seat at the stadium. Parking isfifteen bucks. You can tailgate, do
the whole thing. So like literallyyou can just go and really really support
because I'm talking about like like asthe kids say, I'm handing your flowers.
But here comes Richmond. This isa team that's had a lot of
(23:38):
success, success against Albany. Whoare they like, what are we looking
for when they when they step outin the field against the Great Danes.
Yeah, they're a good team thatyou know, they started really slow this
year and they battled. They've wonseven games in a row. You know,
I've been asked about the earlier partwith with Richmond, but you know,
it really is not a factor. Our kids are a different football team
(24:00):
and they're a different football team inthe past. And at the end of
the day when when I came here, you know the thing it's lost and
this is when we moved from anythe NEEC to the CIA. It was
a big jump. It's in everything, and so we when we came into
the league, Richmond was one ofthe national powers, you know, they
(24:21):
were, and I think we've caughtI think we've caught them, and I
think that we're in the process of, uh certainly being equals with them now
versus where we were even just fouror five years ago. So, but
every game we played with them hadbeen three overtime games, one score games,
I think almost I think everyone butone. And we feel like that
we're in a great place at homewith this football team to get a win
(24:41):
Saturday. You guys were practicing thesnow earlier. I mean obviously like Richmond's
not you know, Florida or anythinglike that. But are you praying for
a little bit of a little NewYork hospitality snow wise on Saturday? It
doesn't matter. I you know,we're just excited about getting ready to play,
and we know we got to playeveryone other condition. It's one of
the advantage, the one real advantagein the North that there's there's really not
(25:03):
much you can throw at us thatwe're that we haven't practiced in or played
in, you know, and sowe'll be ready to go. They're not
that far south that I think it'sa big deal, to be honest,
and but at the end of theday, it's being home. If we
can get the stands there, getthe stand still, we'll make a massive
statement for our team and our programand our region in our city. I
(25:26):
can't wait. I'm excited to go, like I literally, you know,
like I love to I love thehelp out. I'd love to be the
big mouth on the field, runaround with the microphone and all that fun
stuff. I'm literally ducking phone callsbecause I don't want to work for this
game. I want to be standingthere. I want to be in the
stands. I want to cheer on. You know, maybe maybe I'll get
some liquid courage going to to beeven louder. But like I think anybody
who misses this game, you Idon't think you ever have a right to
complain about pro sports or college sportsor anything in New York again, because
(25:49):
this is a team that has achance to really do something special in the
playoffs, and it's not expensive togo to an Aubany game, and we
can go and really cheer on thissquad. I want to see you smile
again. It was weird to seethat after the last win. I don't
see that that often. Oh comeon, you make me laugh all the
time. Yeah, but I alwaysfeel like it's a petty laugh. So
you know, it was nice tosee you actually just happy to have you.
(26:11):
So No, it's been it's beena good year. I think everybody's
you know, in a good placeand now you know, but the key
is that we stay sharp and weand we're ready to play. And we
are. I mean, the kidshave been great at Friend yesterday. I
mean it's snow and it's windy,and they're they're having a great time and
they're working hard. I mean that'skind of what you want. I can't
I can't wait. Like I said, I just love. I love the
(26:32):
way this season has built. Youguys, go and you play Marshall and
you play Hawaii and you take them, you know, into the deep waters.
People look at it and go,well, how's that feel that they
take you lightly? And now yougo into the guys that are supposed to
be on your level and you're handlingbusiness. And I hope that continues because
this story could be one of thebest ones told in Capitol Region Sports Ever,
(26:52):
coach, I appreciate your time.As always, I'll get out of
your way. I offered it ifanybody needs help, you know, trash
talking, I'm willing to step ininto a little coaching, no problem.
I'll keep that in mind. ThanksJeff. It's back for the Integrave Sleep
Center in Balls and Spa. Youknow. Uh, just talking to coach
Catuso and getting all these sinks togetherin my mind and how I'm gonna through
the weekend and everything. I'm like, all right, I am going to
(27:15):
have my mouthpiece which will keep mysnoring down, my sleep app me under
control, which means Friday night,if I want to get up a little
early, hit the gym and thengo cheer on the Great Danes. Yeah,
I go about at eleven May,maybe twelve even because I know I'm
gonna get good sleep. That's thething. If you don't get good sleep
or you're worried about not being rested, everything kind of cascades in a downward
(27:36):
spiral of nonsense, and it's it. I hate it personally. That's why
I'm so glad that I made thecall. Five eight eight five six eight
five six one eight five Doctor Fredrierthe Integrave Sleep Center. Actually was just
going back and forth with Lorianne fromthe office yesterday. She said, we
haven't seen you a little while. We'd like you to come in. I
was like, you know what,I'd love to stop by. We'll get
this. We have him look atmy mouthpiece, make sure everything's perfect.
(28:00):
Good for me, but who knows, maybe it can be even better.
Integrative Sleep Center in Boston spot doctorfred Dreier five. You don't call.
They're helping me sleep better. Theycan help you sleep better too. Heads
beating guys for US X Pest Control. Yeah, yeah, I think I
think your buddy's over in the dubbewhich they had the non chemical exclusion package
to keep CM punk out. Yeah, you know that CM Punk, Cody
(28:25):
Rhoads, a bunch of pests, all these big names coming back to the
w W. We didn't forget aboutLa night, but you may have forgot
about the pest and checking on yourattic and your basement and your garage and
all the other places in your homethat maybe you've taken an eye off and
maybe you forgot about them. It'sthe holiday season, you're probably busy.
But USX Pest Control can come toyour home and make sure it is safe
(28:47):
for the big gatherings you have.Maybe you're hosting family, maybe you've got
the early start of Hotakah, maybeyou've got a sock party, the White
Elephant. Whatever you're doing at yourhome, make sure it's safe and USX
Pest Control has the free inspection tocon firm that your house is good.
Go for the holidays, and ifit's not, that's okay. Tim,
Victor, Frank, the whole crewover there will make sure your home is
(29:07):
safe and Kristen will set up theappointment for you. It's funny, like
you know that a lot of times, that voice in the back of your
head that says jerky things that mostpeople stop that I almost never stop.
I stopped it for a second,but I haven't seen anyway. You're sitting
there going all these reasons that youyou know, oh, these holidays things.
That's why you don't want pest inyour house. No, I just
don't want them there. So goto usxpest dot com, schedule that free
inspected today and see how they canhelp your house be as pest free as
(29:33):
ours. It's love Akin Guz onthe Voice of the Capitol Regions Sports Fan,
Fox Sports ninety five, nine andnine eighty. I honestly don't know,
you know what, you know, what what you'd say? Play of
the day, Yeah, rock toyou by Mohawks Chevrolet. Together, let's
drive. Our buddies are a MowakChevrolet and bals Spa where they always go
out of their way to please you. I am going to abstain from wagering
(29:56):
tonight's ha ha ha good one.No, No, I'm serious. I
won last night on the Knicks.I kind of I was looking at this
Rangers game. I was thinking, you know, Rangers wings, Rangers are
minus two hundred, the gold totalis six and a half. Maybe I'll
take a little, a little flyerif you will on the on the over.
(30:18):
I just don't I don't know enoughabout it. And we keep talking
about being responsible, so I thinkit's more responsible of me tonight without the
Knicks playing, without knowing enough aboutthe Rangers. I know, I know
they're I know they're off to anamazing start. I know they're just they're
the best start in hockey. They'rethey're playing great, playing even better than
anybody could have hoped. But Idon't know enough to know if it's worth
(30:41):
laying down two hundred, you know, or so twenty to win ten.
You know, I don't know ifit do. They typically win four to
one to two to one, youknow, six and a half too much,
I don't know, So, youknow what the responsible thing to do.
I'll enjoy the game tonight with nomoney on it, learn a little
bit about the Rangers the Blue Shirtswhile there is anything else on, and
then maybe I'll be prepared to makean educated wager on the Rangers in the
(31:07):
future tonight. No. I alsohave been up since five am, so
I'm a little tired. I don'tknow if I'll be awake to watch anything
tonight. Well, you know what, I have two thoughts on tonight's games,
and I hope they'll fight each otherand die of loneliness. Really they
relate to yesterday, and I willget to that. But first, that
five am, yeah post you hadtoday for those who don't know, where
were you at five am? ABCSports defendis look at that? Yeah.
(31:30):
Yeah. My daughter's boyfriend wanted tostart working out together, but he works
all early than I do. Soif we're gonna work out, we gotta
go. We gotta go early,so we have to address something here.
Because the talented miss Rachel Davis. You can hear her on you could hear
on her sister stations. I knowRachel Davis, I don't know. I
didn't know. Her first name wastalented w g Y Mornings with Doug Gouty
(31:52):
Kiss one O two three. Couldhear her all over the place part of
our iHeart family of networks. Thisis clearly me assuming that she insulted me
in trying to get out in frontof it just to declaire. She came
up to me today and she hadsaid, I think you hurt Lavack's feelings.
Oh, and then she quickly rephrasedand said, I think you hurt
Lavax's feeling because I think you toldher before you don't have feelings. That's
(32:12):
true. So she feels like Ihurt your feelings. And I was startled.
I go, what did I do? I actually don't know. She
hit me with this like ten o'clockin the morning. Who know what I've
always said? I like her alot? What does she do? I'm
barely sitting down. I don't knowwhat I did. Wrongs usually how I
walk into work? What did Ido wrong, then I don't know I
did wrong today. Rachel's going towar for me on battles. I don't
know. I had, Okay,go ahead, I like this this post
(32:35):
you had at five o'clock in themorning. We were talking about the holiday
season and again one more plug farcesyour station. We have breakfast with Santa
next Saturday at Curtis Lumber the legend. Joe Gallagher from w g Y,
Yeah, I said it was.It was. I always try to come
up with with something because like I'mnot, like I don't work out enough
to be like rise and grind, you know, like I don't. It's
just not enough for lavacnes that willthat I was working out all the time,
(32:58):
so I was, okay, Icould do the hunt for the back.
Maybe if I get going enough, who knows, maybe that'll come back.
So today's was anti Santa training. This town literally isn't big enough for
the both of us, because Iwas like, you only have one jolly
fat guy at a time, andwe're both really fat, so you know,
I gotta slim up, make room. And that's the problem. She
feels like, I motivated you togo to the gym today because I had
(33:20):
asked if you wanted to be apart of this year's Breakfast with Santa event,
and you said, gonna be astunt double or something. You wanted
me to dress up like I'm gonnabe a stunt double, and it felt
Rachel felt like, wait a second, now that you asked him, he
actually just posted about not wanting tobe him. Did you insult him and
hurt his feelings that now he's actuallyposted on social media about wanting to not
look like Sanna, and you motivatedhim and hurt his feelings. I was
(33:44):
like, I didn't think of anyof this, but this will be addressed
on the show today. So amI an influence on you going to the
gym? Because I guess I insultedyou when suggested you could be Santa?
Does she like go to war onmy behalf? Was she like tiss because
she like protective? She a littlebit? Was that's awesome? You have
no influence in my life at all. No, I think the last time
(34:08):
you said anything about my physique thatactually ticked me of Oh no, I
don't want to hear that. No, no, no, no, no,
no no no. We both andwe were on the Old Show and
we both got we were put togetherwith this trainer, and I'm just throwing
weights around like a champ because that'swhat I do. And Gods, instead
of be like, dude, you'restrong, You're country is strong, which
is code for hey, wow, you're really strong, I didn't realize that
(34:31):
because you're fat. Like that's that'swhat it's code for. Fat. It's
code. That's it's total code. And uh so that that's the last time
you say anything that even remotely takesme off about my physique, because I
just don't. I mean, okay, well that's good. Rachel had felt
like I had hurt your feelings andwe need to address it on the air
today and all those things. Butwe're proud that you're putting in the five
(34:51):
o'clock in the morning. Man,that's awesome. Yeah. I think I
think tomorrow is going to be arested because I've got to be with Picks
at eight twenty, so I don'tI don't foresee myself getting up at five
to I got to flock you tonightPicks at eight twenty, So I think
tomorrow's rest day. Hit it againFriday, maybe Saturday before the U ALBNY
game. Tell the guys on Pickstomorrow, and I'm not joking said this.
I enjoyed their chicken cutlet segment thismorning. I thought that was very
(35:13):
funny, involving math and everything. So passed that message along math. No
message, I say, involving math, No, no math? W what
at h chicken cutlets and math?Is that the new sweeper? Tune in
for chicken cutlets and math? Allright, let's talk about the heartbreak of
(35:34):
the Play of the day, becauseif you listened yesterday, I told you
I had some things. I wasconsidering what I was going to do,
and I said, by the way, I had the knicks and I won,
you did? I said, youknow what, there's no way that
Texas Southern it's going to lose bymore than thirty one and a half points
to Purdue. Right, that canhappen? Thirty two? Pretty one by
thirty two on the button welcome atthe Play of the day. Then I
(35:54):
thought, you know what, Iwould love. This is the third person
in the last forty eight hours whohas talked about Chicago Blackhawk hockey with us.
Uh did we want to talk moreabout that? Maybe? I feel
like you listening should do more ofyour research about that. Well, I
mean there's a lot of uh,rumor and innuendo. We have to throw
(36:16):
journalism out the window. Let's justsay there are some motivating Yeah, yeah,
it's I think it's fairly clear thatit's real. I do. I
think it's real. So player Adated air quote Player b's mom. Well,
that's against the rules, apparently,so player A he was not as
(36:37):
good as Player B is no longeron the team. And then the bosses
come out and it's nothing to doit was nobody's family or whatever. But
what was he gonna say? Whatwas he gonna say? Here, we
hear at the Blackhawks don't believe inbanging each those moms. We don't think
it's right. So so he hadto go, is it Perry or something?
I don't even know. I don'teven know it is. Uh,
(36:58):
he had to go yes, Andthen theeen year old can't miss next Sydney
Crosby and that whole story. Ibring all that up just because I thought,
you know what, with all thatrumor, I saw Jack on Twitter,
our guy Houston, Steve shirt it. A few others have wanted you
and I as if we were theexperts and needed to weigh in on Blackhawks
Mom Stifler situation. But I thought, you know what, Blackhawks plus one
(37:20):
seventy against the Kraken. Too badthey played yesterday. I would have hit
that bet they're not playing tonight.I thought about it. Should have kept
that one in the holster, shouldhave brought it out. Oh there's some
playing going on. But it hasnothing to do with on the eyes.
It's I don't know, man,I just I think it's I think it's
I think it's kind of player hatingfrom Badard. I think it is.
I think if mom's out there, you know, if if Mom and Bdard's
(37:40):
got her groove back, you know, would the goalie let her live?
I think he ran in there crying. I'm not gonna call him dad like
in you know, from the informationI've gotten from TikTok okay seems as if
she may not have known that hewas on the team. That's phenomenal.
(38:01):
Can you imagine that's TikTok By theway, that's not Gus, that's TikTok
To listen, We're just gonna it'sall true. I don't care if it
is or not. It's all neverlet the truth get in the way of
a good story. Like somewhere ZachWilson is watching this whole thing going down
and like you get kicked off teamsfor that and looking to meet every other
player, and he's mom right now. He's like, he's just he's like,
(38:22):
wow, yeah, are you closeto your mother? To Breisee Hall,
like he's just like, hey, everybody, not you. Quinn Williams,
I don't. I don't need you. I don't need that smoke,
but like it's just can you imagine? And I don't. I don't really
know the full details, but listen, Mom's single, right, and Mingle
meets a young man, decides, you know what, I'm a grown damn
(38:45):
woman. I make my own decisions. Doesn't allegedly doesn't know. I bet
she knew, but that sounds worse. Has a little uh little has a
good night word, gets back toher son. You know this again,
can't miss prospect and he goes andI want I want him on the team
because Mohammy is sacred. And comeon, dude, just fight him.
(39:07):
Your hockey players, fight him andbe done with it. Keep taking the
black Hawks, keep betting the Blackhawks, until information they're united behind this.
Now, there's no way, dude. Honestly, let's pretend who here,
who here? Let's all right,I'm single, I'm single. Somebody's mother
in this building is also single. We we date, and that person throws
(39:30):
an absolute poop fit, and Iend up getting fired for it's somebody somebody
who's uh, we'll say Canta, just because he ranks higher on the tone
pole. I never met missus Kantara, don't even know. I know,
I'm sure she's a lovely woman.But he goes, Lavac's gotta get out
of here, I'm done with itwhatever, and they go, you know
what, you're high on the totempole. Lava's out of line, You're
out of here. You guys aremocking him behind his back, like let's
(39:52):
not say hi to his mom.Like there's no way the rest of the
black Hawk locker room isn't just ano, nihilating madard if this is real.
So we've got two examples of thishappening. We've got a television show
example for those fans of the Office, when Michael Scott, who's the boss
of the dunder Mifflin brand, startshitting Pam Beasley's mom. You know,
(40:13):
that that was a TV show, right. It wasn't like a it was
filmed like a documentary. Okay. The end result is Pam gets to punch
Michael in the parking lote everyone getsto watch. That's fair. I thought,
that's that's street justice. I likethat. There's also the second one
where we keep bringing up how bigof a prospect he is for the Blackhawks
because he's the next Sidney Crosby, the next Conor McDavid. Some would say,
the next Lebron James. You wouldthink, could you imagine if like
(40:35):
something ever like this happened with Lebron, Well, it might have because Delonte
West. There's a rumor out theredive deepen off into the Internet that Delante
West may have done this to GloriaJames. And Delonte West has fallen on
some hard times. He's never thesame and never been the same. So
I don't know what happened to LanteWest. I know we talked about Mark
Cuban earlier in the show. Iknow he tried to get him healthy,
but uh, and also maybe goeven further back, I'm not as uh.
(41:00):
I don't know the details as well, because it's a little bit before
my time. But we also hada situation with the Yankee players and the
swingers and they switched wives and stufflike that. Yeah, but that's again,
that's all everybody's involved in that. That's not anybody's mom either, not
well that somebody's mom maybe not oneof the people involved. But but can
we can we all start this though? So so Blackhawks GM Kyle Davison.
(41:22):
It's not that it's nothing to dowith him. Is a workplace matter.
So from now on, when youhook up with someone you're not supposed to,
let's all call it a workplace matter. I think, like, what
are you doing? The Walker shame? No, I just had a workplace
matter had to take care of,that's all. Oh, you know it's
said, that's it. Nothing todo here, not to see none to
see here. I just, Imean, this is just it's too good.
I've I've actually now got people thatreached out to me like she's got
(41:45):
a hot right. It's like Ihaven't even gotten there. I'm still dealing
with the fact you can get cutfrom a team for a quote workplace matter
that may very well have had nothingto do with the workplace except for you.
You you you know you played slipone past the goalie with the future
stars. Mom, this is themost hockey covers we're gonna do for the
(42:06):
rest of the year, and it'swar. The Rangers keep playing this way,
you never know, I might actuallytalk a little bit. What about
their moms? So is that calendar? Now? This all comes back to
this. The Blackhawks don't play tonight. Yes, that was a poor transition
for what I did there. I'mtaking Tennessee basketball over North Carolina. So
everybody take North Carolina. See lookgood in the Maui they did. The
(42:28):
only thing colder than gaze is poorPerry now that he can't hook up with
the Dart's mom Houston, Steve happy? Is Jack on Twitter? Happy?
Are you on Twitter? Happy? Why are Lavack and gos Why are we
the consultants? Why did so manypeople want to know our thoughts on this
scale? How well do you knowus? Like? Is there a list
(42:49):
of sports stories Like that's a LevakaGoslin right there? Hockey teenagers, moms,
scandals right to Lavack and gods. But there you go. There's our
take on the Blackhawks scandle I alsoagree, I know what happened. Of
course it did. It's too convenient. The rumor out there too is at
a mom's hangout celebration weekend, andnow came down the veteran for the Blackhawks.
(43:12):
He introduced himself and well there waslife. I mean, if those
moms are still hanging out, CoreyPerry's a lot of extra time, a
lot of extra time in his hand. If you guys all want to have
a workplace matter, maybe give CoreyPerry a call, you know, well
something for the effort their chief.Huh, there's your player of the day,
Corey Perry. You mentioned losing yourpro athlete career over Steffler's mom.
(43:37):
