from the GT Toys the studio that'sToys with a Z. Well, that
guy's here with you. And lastnight, did you have to watch Hard
(00:41):
Knocks offseason? Not only did Iwatch Hard Knocks last night, I watched
it from the moment that baby hitMax. My little finger was ready.
I said, stop everything, Stopthe Orioles, letting the cubs at the
ball in the Utah street, stopthe bear which season three still stinks,
Stop the presses. I'm watching HardKnocks. I watched it basically live.
Lovak me. You know I'm nota live watcher of things besides sports.
(01:04):
Okay, so here's so you're notsomeone who watches things live. I'm someone
who's never late. I missed thefirst like three to four minutes, so
so we both both lived outside ofcharacter last night. But I'm a start
by saying it's really good. Ithink what we've always loved about Hard Knocks
is we got that access that youdidn't usually get. You got to see
(01:26):
stuff, and you know, welearned over time that there's some editing that
that is, you know, preferentialto the team and stuff like, which
again I'm fine with. I dothink it kind of slowed down the love
fest a little bit when we figuredit out. But the thing about what
we're seeing right now with Hard Knocksoff season featuring the Giants is we were
(01:47):
getting access, Like I don't knowif they know that, they don't always
come off looking that good, likeI don't. I don't know. But
it's first of all, it's theJoe Shane show. Like it's it's him.
He's the GM and he is themain character. He is, you
know, he's the Jerry Seinfeld ofthis show. Like it's about him,
(02:08):
what he's up to, how he'sdoing things. I don't know that he'd
ever be invited to the cookout, but if I'm a Giants fan, he
might hurt my feelings with some ofthe stuff he's saying about my players.
I gonna stop you real quick.I know what you meant you didn't mean
racially by that? Did you invitedthe inappropriate? I've appropriated it. Okay,
(02:30):
Well I meant for me, likepersonally, like my house, my
personal That's what I thought you meant. That's a phrase being used now for
I've been invited, I'm allowed todo it. Okay, I've been I've
been invited by a couple of people, so it's it's I'm in all right,
I'm not having them over for beers. You now that you've you've gotten
all fun out of it. Jesus, I protected you keep going. I
(02:53):
just I don't need protection. Idon't need the angry emiss him, get
me, Jeff wivac at iHeartMedia dotcom. Come get some. I've been
trying to get canceled for years. If a cookout reference is what takes me
down, God bless you. I'mready. I'll go home and actually have
(03:13):
a cookout and I season my foodwhite people. Okay, tell you that
right now. And playing around.Come get Some started as a Joe Shane
conversation. Now it's good. Listen, go woke, go hungry at my
house. All right, that's what'sup. All right? Can we talk
about the show now, Yes,I'm just just ask the question. Go
(03:35):
on. I don't think I wouldhang out with him, but I like
his ruthlessness running a football team.Is that like I was trying to say
it in a more fun way,but that's I want to be very careful.
I don't want to say Thomas inthe other room. He does not
care if you like him. Hedoes not care. He said in the
(03:58):
first episode, he doesn't even knowwhat what station sports talk is on.
Why that's yeah, he's down byHe's done in w f A n Land.
He knows exactly what you can throwus up on the podcast if he
wants. Mind doesn't know who weare. He doesn't know who we are,
and I getting invited the cookout thenhe uh, sorry, I've got
(04:19):
a couple of different things going onat once. All of a sudden,
I no, no, no,I'm in the middle of I had to,
like, right up until we weregetting on, I had to I
was fixing something that was going onin firebirds Land, and I had a
piece of information everybody was asking everybodyelse for and I have to look over
and go whoop, and they weregoing, oh, here it is,
And I was like, I shouldhave answered you about twenty minutes ago.
(04:41):
No, I just I think that, like as this, the Saquon storyline
is gonna be the main like DaleJones and Saquon Barklayer, like the A
and A and a Pluster A andB storylines. As the Saquon thing goes
on, I think if you're adiehard Saquon fan, you know Barkley,
You're probably gonna hate Joe Shaite. But that's gonna last as long as you
(05:06):
realize the team's try a little betteroff because they didn't spend all that money.
Yes, I'm telling you, Ilove this Hard Knocks. We gotta
go way back here real quick. So the first season Hard Knocks was two
thousand and one. You're a fanof reality television. I love really what
do you mean by that? Ilove reality tv? We have to remember
this is really important when we havethis conversation with the giants today. Hard
(05:28):
Knocks started in the year two thousandand one. When the show came out,
it was trying to be like Survivor, it was trying to be like
Big Brother, it was trying tobe like the real World. We're gonna
show it uncut, uncensored, behindthe walls what happens when people start getting
real in the NFL. That noveltyfactor of I guess documentary and The Office
(05:50):
did a mockumentary that's twenty five yearsago. Like we've all seen it.
We all get what you were tryingto do. But what Hard Knocks was.
It became a television show and talkedabout we cover this little yesterday about
heroes and underdogs and everything else. This is the novelty factor of if you're
a sports in if you're listening tous on a Wednesday in July at three
(06:11):
o'clock in the afternoon, or you'redoing something mowing the lawn, you love
sports. This is what sports fanshave wanted because everyone's got their own Hard
Knocks. We talked about one Jetsdriving everything else. I've never seen anything
like this. And going back tothe Joe Shane thing you mentioned the Saquon
Barkley conversation when he calls Saquon Barkleyand puts it on speaker and we get
to see what really happened. Idon't think there was a bad guy in
(06:34):
that conversation. Like I thought today, I was gonna come on the show
today and say, Okay, JoeShane was the bad guy. John Merraw
was the bad guy. Saquon Barkley'sbad guy. As you said, there's
still more to be told in thisstory, but watching how that went down,
even the Saquon response when Joe Shaneasked him, he goes, and
this isn't spoiler stuff. Some peopleknow this. It's like Joe Shane was
like, are you gonna give meyour word on that? Like, what
(06:56):
are you talking about already? Whatdo you mean? Man? Like?
Maybe, like I already told you. I didn't think Saquon handled that poorly.
I think Saequan was very frustrated.I think Joe Shane felt frustrated.
The realness of that is like somebodyI haven't seen covering the NFL in a
long time. I thought it wasbrilliant. I think if you're a giant
fan, there are still some concerns, but that one, I felt like
(07:16):
was about his honest and real humanversus human interaction. You can hope for
it. There's no fake nothing,at least from that edit they showed us.
I thought it was about as realas they could get. I think
it comes down to how you pictureyourself. If there's a bad guy in
that conversation, because like, ifyou've always been the employee, if you've
(07:38):
always been the one who has negotiateto get what you get and whatever like
that, you probably look at JoeShane that thing and be like, dude,
he already told you he wants tobe a giant for life, he
wants to go to the Ring ofHonor. He told you how much he
wanted. Do you have it ordon't you? Like? What's wrong with
you? What? Like you saidto his agent, you believe he can
play like do you have it ordon't you? Now? On the other
hand, if you've been in management, youre probably sitting there going, you
(07:59):
know, se Quai should have takenthe money last year. He should take
it. That that was I thoughtthat was gonna be your first thing.
I thought it was gonna be yourfavorite part of the whole episode is when
Joe Shane is talking to his mediaguy before he goes to talk to the
press at the combine and he goes, you know they're gonna ask about Saquon.
Uh, Yeah, I'm gonna sayI tried to give him bunch of
money last year. He didn't takeit, and the media guys, you
see his heart stop. Just no, it's the wrong. Don't do that.
(08:22):
That's that's my Gundy bad. Don'tsay that. He's like, no,
I'm not gonna say that, butlike I mean, it's real,
like he offered him the kind ofcontract that running backs aren't getting. Is
that a gig? By the way, still? Is that just? I
feel like every NFL and Pro teamhas that. But what a nice job.
I loved it because they actually showedit like a must back to back,
Like here's what he said to theguy. Here's what he said.
(08:43):
Here's what he said to the guy. He's what he said. I thought
it was brilliant. I thought itwas really good. I do want to
go back to the Saquon thing, though, real quick, because there's somebody
who can relate to that you mentioned. If you've gone to the employer or
the employee, the corporate side, the fact that happened to you, I
would say the Saquon barked the conversationwith some similarity stuff that's happened in your
career more so than my career,Like you were in a spot like that
before, and well the difference isthat like the boss that I was that
(09:09):
I was leaving was a friend,Like we become friends over the years from
working together, Like we both workedour way up kind of together. Like
he came in as a sales rep. I was still doing you know,
I was still a third guy heredoing whatever. And then you know,
he worked his way up sales managerand boss. I worked my way to
you know, just doing doing thisshow in a different place. So it
was like when I told like,I cried when I told him I was
(09:31):
probably leaving, and then he said, listen, I just I need to
know are you are you done orare you done unless And I'm like,
well, I'm done. And thenI'm like thought about him, like,
wait, what's one less? Whatis that? He's like, well,
if I can go to the powersthat be, the corporate overlords, basically
can if I go to the salarycap and find you more and more room.
(09:54):
I'm not stupid. I'm gonna listen. But like you know that ultimately
kind of the same deal. Salarycap did not budge people above. That
guy didn't really see my value, which I laugh at. Yes, and
I think Saquon for a spot thatgets the proof people wrong and you've gotten
to prove people wrong. I feellike if the Giants wanted to have Saquon
(10:16):
come off as the bad guy inthis rendition of Hard Knocks, maybe episode
three will tell us something different.Saquon Barkley did not come off as a
bad person to meet all during thatSaquon Barkley and maybe that was the Giants
goal. Hey, we're not hereto trash our former players. We know
there's free agency, we know there'sthe draft. That is not the point
of this whole thing. The pointis is to well, how we're gonna
build this team, and we haven'teven talked about what I thought. Even
(10:39):
though the media prep thing was veryinteresting, I can't get enough of when
we had to sit down interviews withthe quarterbacks and the wide receiver, but
more so the quarterbacks. Well,so to just put a button, you
know, a little bow on theSaquon thing, it's business. It's business.
You got as much as we allare fanatics, like you know we
own our Giants, Raiders yet sawyou know, Buccaneers. We all we
(11:01):
pay to be part of the group. That dude's gotta get paid and he
gets hurt, so he's gotta getpaid as much as he can as fast
as he can. Brian Dabeles brainis fascinating because you know they showed him
working with Brett Favre and you knoweverybody will go through all the list of
all the great you know, JoshAllen, all these great quarterbacks you worked
(11:22):
with. He sits down and talksto these guys and if you haven't seen
it, you have to see itbecause he knows, he knows what he
needs to hear to know whether ornot he is going to invest anytime into
that quarterback. And he sits thereand he goes you know, it's it's
fair play. I draw for me, okay. And it kind of reminds
me of Gruden's quarterback camp a littlebit. Yeah, not as friendly though,
(11:45):
because Gruden's quarterback camp is like atell you what, I love what
you're doing, tell you what, just just spider to buy my banana whatever,
where Dabele's like, eyah, yeah, I like fierce people too,
but this is a job interview,by the way, like you're right,
what do you got? And itwas it was cool. I I've always
been a Dable fan. I'm moreof a Dable fan now as someone who
(12:07):
watched it, I felt like thisis awesome. I don't know if we
got the best feel of how didMarvin Harrison Junior feel, or Molik Neighbors
or Drake may or Caleb Williams orJayden Daniels or anybody else. I would
have liked a little posts like how'dyou feel after that? You feel okay,
you feel nervous, you feel scared, I'll do one of mine.
In my career, when I gotthe gig here at iHeart, I have
(12:28):
never been interrogated like I did forthis opportunity. I was getting asked questions
about, like what do you thinkabout January sixth, I'm like, whoa,
whoa, And I was like theyweren't. They were trying to get
stuff out of me about how wouldyou react to a caller, how would
you react to an email? Howwould you act somebody being nasty to you
on the air. At one point, I'm sure I wish I could have
seen the whole thing twenty minutes thirtyminutes raw. At one point there was
(12:52):
a conversation about the future of thisshow, and somebody on the call was
being very discouraging about the future ofthis show, and I'm like, oh,
they're trying to like, get areaction out of me. They're trying
to see if I'm serious about this. They're trying. I remember after the
interview was done and they kind ofshowed this a little bit in the hallway
sometimes hey we're okay, Like, hey, we just wanted to test you.
We went through the interview process, the one guy, two guys stood
(13:13):
out to me, and then interviewprocess of what they showed again, I
wish I had the whole raw Canwe get Paul Camarada to give us the
raw footage of every interview? Shoutout to gilder Lin Zone who's a part
of the production team. Come on, Paul, I got some bitcoin laying
around. I think, No,I don't. The two guys who impressed
me the most, Roma Donsay andDrake may Roma Doonsay was a grown man
(13:37):
in that room. He's got apersonality. They even said you were an
impressive young man. How he handledhimself, how we talked about being a
leader. There are a lot ofwide receivers who come off as divas and
give me the ball, and sometimesMilieu neighbors came off a little bit like
that, but they were like cool, we want you to be competitive.
We want you to have the ball. We're okay with that roma. Donsay.
If you were a Bears fan, you've got to be thrilled about how
(13:58):
that guy had But Drake Mayvac whatwas that on forty five seconds thirty seconds?
If you're a Giant fan today andyou're like, why didn't we trade
up to get him? Or whyweren't the Patriots giving him up? I
was blown away about how quick hewas rallying off the play calls doing that.
(14:20):
There were rumors that the Giants reallywanted Drake may I don't know if
they did any good enough job ofhiding their hand there, because Drake may
blew everybody away from that interaction withBrian's able, I mean and then table
you know, yeah, he pullsthe trick of the you know, oh
tell me who do you talk toat this? And this? And then
okay, what was that play wetalked about? Uh? But go yeah,
(14:41):
it's it's it's a cool thing tosee. That's that's the part of
the the combine that you hear aboutbut you don't really know. Like we
hear about interviews. You hear aboutthe interviews that go wrong, right,
You hear about the guy who's like, oh, they asked me about my
love life, and they asked meabout this. They asked me about and
I didn't like it. You neverget to see the ones that go right.
You never really need to hear aboutthose. And it was it was
(15:03):
really cool. And I feel likeas much as I so, I just
Joe Shane, I like, Ithink I like you as a GM.
I don't know if I would likeyou as a person like And I know
he's not losing any sleep over thatdable on the other side, That dude
can hang like that's the guy asyou're sitting there watching everybody do this.
(15:24):
So we were we watch his howquick and special his brain is when it
comes to offense. Uh, changethis letter to this, do this,
do this now, show it tome, Okay, bring it back,
do this whatever. And it's likewhat and then you watch him go I
could I could outrun that guy inthe forty, right, I could do
I could do a I could doI'd be under seven. And then like
(15:46):
somebody runs a four to four,Like, do you think you're three seconds
slower than him? Yeah? Absolutely, Like if there's a plate of wings
at the finish line whatever, LikeHe's I could watch a game with that
dude, and I'd be like, tell me what happened? Much more endearing,
(16:07):
much more likable in episode two,and maybe whether it's their expectations of
what people think they should be orhow they want to be perceived, it
felt so real about both of themthat Brian Dable wants his players to like
him and wants people to come playfor the Giants, wants to get excited
about the offense, while Joe Shaneis a twenty fifteen year vet in the
(16:27):
NFL. Business sign of it thatthat's a business. I'm not here to
make friends. I am the boss. I am telling people their careers are
over. I am telling people they'reno longer employed here. Let's not make
it anything else that it is.I don't have to come off as the
good guy on the show because noone believes I'm the good guy. Plus,
it's not I'm doing my job. This is what I do. Was
(16:48):
it you mentioned this too? Likethe Romo doing Jay thing, you would
have thought that they would have wentwith him. The editing is always something
you got to look back on andtry to figure out. It's almost like
watching pulp fiction for the first time, Like, Okay, when did this
happen? Because they told you theywere gonna take Elik Neighbors, they took
Because there's that point where Daviel walksup to Shane and goes, I've been
(17:11):
watching film on Neighbors all day.I love that guy, like he's the
guy, He's the one, andthen they show you all the other stuff.
You're like, god, the attitudeof Romay, Like, considering the
fact that your quarterback's not a hypeguy, how about your number one receiver
be that you know which I thinkNeighbors just will do that in a way.
(17:32):
But like that that piece that's probablymissing from the locker room as far
as a like raw row, let'sgo, everybody get moved and get your
blood pumping. You could have takenhim. He was there, he was
available, nobody would have hurt youfor it. But you took Neighbors.
So now now that's gonna that couldfall on him. Well, I'm sorry.
I feel like Joe Shane's answer tome, I didn't pay my quarterback
(17:53):
forty one million dollars a year tohave somebody else come up and put energy
in the locker room. Get itdone. It's it's a really really good
show. One little critics making mea Giants fan this year, it really
is. Yeah, I'm rooting forthe Giants right now. I like Dable.
I want to see more about thedraft. I'm close. I'm close.
(18:14):
Do you find it odd that BrianBurns Devin Singletary, Gosh, I
feel like I'm missing one other one, Brian Dable. I think it was
the third one. Joe Shane hasa connection to all of those guys some
way, you know, whether it'sthe Buffalo connection, whether it's the Carolina
connection, Dan Morgan being one ofhis best friends who's running the decision making
process at Carolina. I guess theWheelhouses, but I'll say, like that's
(18:38):
the easiest option. Hey, mybest friend's the Carolina GM. Let me
talk to them. Hey, Iused to work in Buffalo. I know
all these players. Let's work withthem. Should Giant fans be a little
concerned that he's just going to whathe finds the easiest rather than getting out
of his comfort zone for making someof these moves, Like they're selling us
on these players. They're good players, but he is kind of staying in
his comfort zone. With some ofthese, I'm glad you should comfort because
(19:00):
you he totally went outside of hiscomfort zone. Remember he walked all the
way around the building to go tothe Patriots. He did, and they
flat out said, wow, wedidn't expect you to walk in here,
like He's like, no, Iknow, I would have walked by in
the past, Like whatever, heyou you Familiarity is important. You know,
you know who these guys are,or you know who knows who they
are, so you can sit downand kind of have that that kind of
(19:22):
conversation. That's how it works, you know. I think that's part of
it. But I like the movesthat have happened so far, Like the
Brian Burns thing is the one Ithink he's I think that's his biggest boom
or bust move. Like maybe youcould say it's singletary because if he doesn't
work, people are gonna go wideand keep Saquan. But like what you
gave up plus what you're spending onBrian Burns, Like, I think that's
(19:45):
the one. If he goes he'sjust an average player. I think a
lot of people are looking at himgo all right, maybe you're not as
smart as we thought. You were, whether you play real football, fantasy
football, or the reality shows Ireferenced about ten minutes ago. The big
thing people talk about is eliminating risk. Do your best to avoid risk.
And maybe that's my answer, Maybethat's what I should be, like,
(20:07):
Hey, Joe Shane doesn't want torisk working with the GM he doesn't trust.
Joe Shane doesn't want to risk draftinga player he doesn't have a background
on or have a scout connected tothem. Eliminating risk could benefit the Giants.
I'm very intrigued. I'm locked in. I think everybody deserves, from
the Giants to the HBO crew, tremendous amount of praise for what this stuff
(20:29):
is because it's something It's really hardin sports to do something different, and
this is different, and it's awesomethat it's a New York team involved.
And give credit to the Giants. They're leaving stuff in there that you may
not have expected them to leave inthere. What is it? In the
preview? You can hear Mara say, I don't know if he'll be able
to sleep at night if we don't, if we lose Barkley. Is there
(20:52):
anything more of a compliment to amovie? A song a television show would
give me more. I don't wantit to stop. That's what I feel
about for that again for the secondconsecutive week about Hard Knocks. I also
feel that same way about Mohawk Honda, thevec OH. I never want to

Just start listening. Now Back toLevac and Guyz on ninety five nine and
nine eighty AM Fox Sports Radio.Last year was Quarterback. That was the
show from Omaha Productions where people fellmore in love with Patrick Mahone. I
(27:00):
think we started to like, lookat Brettoney mahomes a little bit defer.
We're like, okay, you're allright. Now she's doing like swimsuit modeling.
We're like, you're good, Everything'scool. I understand you make more
sense now. Kirk Cousins became, you know, the spirit animal for everybody
who would rather shop at Target thanan expensive store, whether you have to
or not. Mariotto just was anafterthought. I don't, I don't.
(27:26):
I forgot he was on the show. Does he remember if he was on
the show. How about Positive Receiverout today on Netflix. So it's the
receiver side of it, and Iwas I was watching the preview for it.
I haven't had a chance to watchthe show yet, and I don't
know if this is gonna this.I think I think you're gonna be upset
with my take when they the theway the thing starts is, it's you
(27:49):
know, it's Peyton Manning narrating aboutyou know, how important the wide receiver
is and you know, no offensethe offensive lineman, but a great wide
receiver is is the quarterbacks best friendI think gets in and the premises he
gets interrupted. It's it's Randy Moss, and Randy Moss goes, you know
Payton, this is receivers. Letme handle this. I hate Randy Moss,
(28:11):
whoa just from that? No,I not like and I hates a
super strong word. It's not Idon't it's not fair. But his speaking
always sounds fake to me, likewhen you try very hard to be professional
and enunciate everything. That's what healways sounds like to me. And yes,
yes, before anyone sends it inor goes to X, I am
(28:33):
a better Raiders fan. It's probablythe only place in the world he couldn't
catch a football was Oakland. Iwas gonna actually tweet that to you rather
Yeah, but I but it's justlike when when Peyton Peyton Manning is endearing
when he speaks, Larry Fitzgerald's extremelylike, like if maybe he's too likable
to be the guy who narrates thisthing. Is just something about when Randy
(28:56):
Moss speaks, it's like it's Iget a very Ron Burgundy reading the teleprompter
vibe. You almost want Randy Mossto go back to rand you West Virginia.
No need to change yourself, justbe you, Randy Like you feel
like he's putting on too much ofan act when it comes to almost I
don't want to say an actor tobe putting on that, but maybe that
isn't like just be yourself. Youcan be authentic now it could be yourself
(29:17):
or have somebody else do it.That might work. That might be a
thing Tim Brown, that'd be greatnow. No, it seems seems very
rader. Tim Brown's awesome. Ilove Tim Brown. Jerry Rice does the
same. Like a lot of timeswith Jerry Rice beaks, you can tell
he's very cautious. He enunciates everything. There's just like, if I'm gonna
(29:37):
watch an entire series of somebody tellingme about how great wide receivers are,
I want I want to feel likeit's conversational. That's what I want.
I loved Randy Moss when he firststarted doing television because it felt like he
was the mix of being a professionalbroadcast but also bringing his personality and the
energy was so high, and itfeels like a lot of people caught up
to him, Tony Romo RG three, dan Orlowski, It's like, oh,
(30:00):
Rainy Moss does it this way,I could do it better than Randy
Moss doing it this WAE. What'syour favorite part about Danner Orlowski the board?
Oh, for me, it's howmuch everyone else hates him. I
love that everyone else hates him.I love it. And he does not
care. He does not care hatehim all day long. He doesn't care.
He likes it. He embraces It'slike Vader, like give me your
(30:21):
hate, like let him flow throughyou like I just I love it when
he gets up on the board andbreaks down a play of what happened.
I don't know if anybody has thattype of skill set or can do it
better than him, of reading defensesand doing it in a way in which
if you're watching that show, youcan actually learn, especially young football players.
That's a great tool that show nowhas becoming NFL Live. Uh So,
wait, do we have the castof the wide receivers? I don't
think so. I don't know.I think I don't know if it's set
(30:44):
like that. I mean, well, here's the thing, like, would
you ever would you ever sign up? For that. So let's say you're
one of the wide receivers that's gonnabe a feature, but you watched quarterbacks
last year? Would you sign upto be one of the three because it
kind of feels like there's a youknow, a script if you will,
(31:07):
like, Okay, this is thesuperstar heart throb. Everyone's gonna love Pat
Mahomes. This is the you thoughthe was a bargain basement dude without personality,
but he's actually very cool and fun. You're gonna you're gonna be finding
very endearing. And then there's theguy that just doesn't matter. And what
if what if you don't know you'rethe guy that doesn't matter and the show
comes out and you're the guy thatdidn't matter. I don't know if I
(31:29):
would sign up for the three personfeature. This is a weak answer where
it's a very honest and truth ofanswer. I think it depends on what
type of spot I am in mycareer age wise, Like if you're twenty
four or you're going for a newcontract, maybe hey, I'm one year
out of my contract. I'm readyto show people what I can do.
I'll show the work I'm putting in, I show what I'm in teammate.
I'm gonna give everybody a reason whyyou should resign me for a mega deal
(31:52):
for one hundred million dollars. Ifyou're twenty eight, maybe you're getting a
little older, you don't want thecriticism. Maybe if you're in your thirty
so you got a wife and acouple of kids, maybe don't want that
type of privacy invasion. Or maybeyour day is just boring. So I
think it really depends on what typeof spot you are in your life when
it comes to having cameras follow youaround, and this has happened for everybody.
(32:13):
You have the list of wide receiversbecause I do. This is what
MSN's saying, justin Jefferson, DavanteAdams, Monross, Saint Brown, Debot,
Samuel Senior, and George Kittle, that's who I can have. Well
so more so they changed it rightbecause it was just three. Who's the
sucker A mon Ross Saint Brown hasbeen followed by cameras before. They did
(32:34):
an HBO Real Sports on his familybecause it's interesting his dad being mister Olympia
and his brother's playing all that.So I think he's not going to be
affected by it. George Kittle. Is it public information that he wants to
be a ww wrestler, Like hewants to show up and yeah, he
wants to be a pro wrestler. So he seems like a guy who's prepping
for the next phase of his career. But is there anything interesting in this
beyond the beer games against the bustlewith the boys. I mean, that's
(33:00):
insane. He's insane on that youwould hope, so you'd hope next Netflix
has their own thing justin Jefferson. You mentioned Kirk Cousins. Hey, I
watched my former teammate do this andit worked out well for his career.
I'm imp to do this. Adamsand Deebo are the ones that I'm like,
hmm, I wonder why. Iwonder if Adams is chasing after a
legacy and debo. Well, Iguess maybe the same thing. Hey,
when you mentioned the best wide receiversin the NFL, you should mention my
(33:21):
name and maybe the ego drives thosetwo. But we'll find out once it's
thing la. So I'm so upsetright now. I don't even want to
watch the show now because of theRaider connection. Again, you know what's
gonna happen. Huh Oh, haveyou heard the biggest quote out of Adams,
Like most recently he's not quarterback dependentkind of thing, Like he's basically
saying like I'm not gonna blame thequarterback for my numbers. I should be
able to catch footballs no matter what. That whole every time they go to
(33:43):
Adams and then Jimmy Garoppolo threw anothercrappy pass, like it's gonna be it's
gonna be about how in half theRaiders quarterback position was last season. That's
every time they go to Adams,it's gonna be more of DeVante Adams' greatness
was wasted, just like Randy Mosseswas right, Randy, Yes, like
this is just I'm out. I'mI'm and for that reason, I'm out
(34:07):
now. Oh gosh, now you'vegot me in a pretzel about that Adam's
take because now I'm trying right rightit is because I'm trying to think about
a quarterback. No, no,thinking about a wide receiver who got credit
because of their quarterback play for beingbetter like we've seen running backs have that
happen all the time. Oh ifit wasn't Derek Henry's a great sample.
Hey, if it wasn't for DereckHenry, the Titans would have been bad
(34:29):
forever sake. Bon Barkley probably alittle bit too, Hey, if it
wasn't for Sakquon, how many gameswith the Giants have lost? Running backs
get that type of love. MaybeCalvin Johnson of a wide receiver who got
credit for how good he was becauseof his quarterback play not being that good?
But was it Matthew Stafford's quarterback andMatthew Stafford's the borderline Hall of Famer.
(34:51):
You never see it happen anymore where, you know what, Thank goodness
that quarterback had that wideout or elsethat team would have been it just I
don't know. I don't know ifthat's just the talk is easier to go
to the opposite way. Adams couldbe the first to do something like this.
Do you know where he ranked yardagewise last season? Oh gosh,
it's higher than you think. Ohno, maybe it's not. Twelfth seems
(35:13):
a little too low. I'm gonnasay I'll go eighth, fifteenth. I
thought it was lower, all right, twelveth so he had one and forty
four yards. He had eight touchdowns. Here's how this story goes. It's
Raindy Moss and just think how likefor the first time in Adam's career he
was outside the top ten because howcrappy the Raiders are. That's what's gonna
I'm out. That's good, allright, We're both gonna watch it tonight.
(35:36):
I gotta flock you over at Bukadebeppo. After that, I'm gonna go
home and to watch it. We'reboth gonna watch it. And if that
doesn't come across at least in someway, shape or form, I will
apologize. But there's no doubt inmy mind, at least at some point
it's gonna be DeVante Adams left thegreatness of Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay to
go to the crappy Raiders. Let'sdo this tomorrow we're at Rivers. One
(35:59):
of us will buy the other andbeer. We'll put the spread out one
point five. If Randy Moss inthis show episode one, not the whole
show. I'm not gonna benche thewhole show, but i'd say episode one.
If Randy Moss takes more than oneshot at the Raiders in episode one,
I will be freaking shots at anyoneit should be point five. It
should be point five that that theysay, he basically says the Raiders are
(36:21):
Kaka. If he uses the wordka ka, go you bowe me a
bottle, Like, that's like,whoa, that's dude, that's clairvoyancy right
there. That's I'm obviously gonna watchthe show. But that just like basically
what I was just saying, Likewith the three star or player format,
(36:43):
you got your stud you got youroverachiever, and you got your coca.
So for this we're going to befeaturing you know, five people, and
none of them are going to bepresented as Kaka. But one situation is
gonna be because are you thinking aboutthis? Justin Jefferson, They're gonna talk
(37:05):
about how much he made the Vikingsoffense great, right, that's gonna be
the big deal because you just spenta season telling me how cool Kirk Cousins
is. You can't do key onKirk Cousins right now. Let's for the
fact he got hurt. So ahwait, maybe that so that quarterback situation
is gonna be bad too. Thisis how it goes. They're gonna talk
about how Kaca Garoppolo and O'Connell werefor the Raiders and then they're gonna go.
(37:28):
And the similar situation happened in Minnesotafor Justin Jefferson when Kirk Cousins got
hurt. They didn't plan on beingKaka like the Raiders did. It's gonna
be something like that, I'm tellingyou right now, Like it's one of
those deals where when you sit downat a poker table, there's a fool
at every poker table and if youcan't find him, you are him.
Like when when they go into thisthing, they're gonna be like, dude,
(37:49):
we're not gonna these guys are stars, they're athletes. We're not gonna
call any of them the full buteveryone loves what the Lions are doing.
Are unbeatable. So there's two guyson the Niners. They're safe, Minnesota's
on the up Raiders or Coca.Maybe I'm just hyped from our Hard Knocks
conversation and how good Hard Knocks hasbeen the first few seasons that I am
(38:13):
optimistic that this is gonna be reallygood, because this is also what I'm
thinking about. All Right, It'sgonna be really good to everybody who doesn't
like the Raiders. That's what it'sgonna be We're gonna be a punching bag
in this shot. I feel allright about I'm willing to I feel no
buccaneers on here. It's not likeif Mike Evanson there be Like Mike Evans
is five thousand years old, theycan no longer tell his his day,
(38:35):
his age by conventional methods. Theyhave to cut his leg off and cut
the count the rings like it's thatI thought offered up my defeated beer bet
records. What's gonna make you feelbetter recherators? But we'll find out for
one and a half they're not gonnado all like go crazy in one episode,
but each episode is gonna have somethinglike the sad music like you're gonna
hear the wah wah like something. They're gonna there's gonna be so many shots
(38:59):
at the Raiders. It feels likethis cast of characters they have if I
had to pick a position in sports, because quarterback was the first one LinkedIn
and we saw the storylines I heardabout it. Wide receiver now no,
just receiver, right, thank youtight end, thank you, thank you
just receiver. Now that now thathurts my premise of my question about of
(39:19):
what sport? What position is thebest to watch? Like if you had
to do this, like, okay, all right now, Felix hang on,
l back, guy's got an idea, not receiver, not quarterback,
but eh no, no, it'sit is heavy. It'd be like one
episode, just how weird they allare. Door and Boss the long Snapper?
(39:40):
Want to watch Magic long Snapper thissummer on Amazon? No, it
would be this, this is theposition to do? Next quarterback? Receiver?
Uh, maybe running back? Iwould love. The defensive line might
be the thing. I mean, they did just do the special sack camp
in Vegas? What about Closer themusical? Just pictures coming out performing musical
(40:05):
acts? Center seven foot and Beyondthis summer on Hulu, Well you just
do center. You used to dothe whole who you get confused? A
lot of centers in sports stretch too? What why we do think about that?
Let us know at the Jeflovac atTom Goes, Tomg's He's what sport
you'd like to see a documentary on? I can already feel like that's a
classic Cavino and Rich segment. Youknow what, I hate that premise?
(40:27):
Don't even tweet it. Cavino andRich will probably still that segment later.
Well, that's their thing, that'stheir thing. I've heard their show once
in a while, just random premisefor an idea. I've I've listened to
probably seven minutes total of them.I don't know. I really don't know
them. I know they were likethey do rock and stuff too, like
(40:49):
I hear them do others. Yeah, Top forty they use some music stuff.
We bumped into them at Vegas.Yeah, they were running around.
I think you putting them out toyou. I think I said that's Cavino
and Rich and you said, whothat sounds familiar? Uh? Do you
think they're clearly better than us?They're nationwide, they're clearly better than us.
All Right, So receivers are gonnawatch it at least once an episode.
(41:12):
They just do key on the Raiders. I'm almost positive, I really.
I you can't tell me you don'tsomewhat agree with me. I don't.
I don't know if I do.I think, I don't know.
I don't feel like it's gonna beall about the Raiders, but I will
find No. No, it's gonnabe about how great everyone is. That
it's gonna be like and speaking ofdookie here the Raiders, Like, you
know, it's either that or AaronRodgers isn't good. If i'd bet what's
(41:32):
more likely for the Devonte Adams storyline, Raiders being bad at the quack position
or Adams giving all this career creditto Rogers, I would go with door
number one. I would go withthe Raiders getting trashed. Yeah, And
you know what, let me hada little bit more to that. Netflix
in comparison to Max or Amazon orESPN or Fox, they are the lowest
level of catering to the diehard sportsin like they very much make it like
(41:57):
I don't want to say soup, but like if you're not a sports and
you watch that show, it's gonnabe dumped down for you. I know
they can't think of any other term, Like it's not super sports centric.
Sometimes those shows like the Cheat Yeah, Pandurine, like the cheating show they
had there with Teo and Manzell, unguarded. I think it's called like a
lot of that unguarded stuff. Netflixsaid controversial, interesting, paid those people
(42:19):
a lot of money, But itwasn't like breaking down the defense of the
final scores. It was much morelike drama filled rate this is this season
for that, like you do thisnow and we build and we build and
we build because we miss our football. Were we two months away? Three
months? Was it? I don'tremember camp starts and yeah camp. Wow,
we're almost a camp. I thinkwe're month away from preseason football.
(42:40):
Less than a month away from preseasonfootball. So got that going for us,
you know, which is nice.So we'll got that as right,
you know. Because of that,I'm gonna do more football next. I
will. I'm not. You can'tstop me. I'm pumped up. I'm

here's the Billill, guys, thinkabout this, Like you were just
on vacation with the missus, yougot the kids. What do you think
you spent per day? Like onehundred bucks? Two hundred bucks? Because
again, on vacation, you spendyou always, you spend more on vacation
usually, gosh, usually, ifI don't open up my credit card for
(48:23):
a while, I want to thinkabout it, you know what, for
the sake of this conversation, Imean not vomiting in this trash can.
I'm gonna say about one hundred andtwenty five dollars a day. Okay,
So like a year ago, tookmy daughter her boyfriend and met a bunch
of our friends at Disney. Iprobably spent about four hundred dollars maybe five
hundred a day. A day, yeah, well on average, you know
(48:44):
somedays, probably on average like twofifty somewhere in that range. I scheduled
a pool day this year, soI don't do that, by the way,
Yeah, I'm scratched Disney off thelist from me. A right,
you don't have to do that. It's just I had not been on vacation,
especially with my daughter, in avery long time. So I had
had my entire vacation fund saved upfor like a long time. Like,
I don't have the money to dothat. I just I did then,
(49:07):
So I did it? What aboutone hundred thousand dollars a day? Ooh?
Sports Illustrated SI Now reports that TravisKelsey and Taylor Swift spend about one
hundred thousand dollars a day. They'vealready spent twenty seven million dollars since they've
(49:28):
been together. That's jets, security, all all over the place. They
spent more in a day than theaverage They are spending more in a day
than the average US two income homebrings in per year. All right,
let's do quick math here. Yousaid one hundred thousand dollars a day,
(49:49):
correct, So ten days that's amillion bucks. So we're looking at about
thirty six million dollars a year Taylorand Travis are spending on expenses since they've
been together, it's twenty seven milliondollars. Remember they got together during the
football season last year, So we'regetting close to all right, not at
a year yet, we're close.I don't want to be Irwin R.
(50:14):
Schweister here, irs, but youthink Taylor Swift, she's got to have
enough smart people like, hey, playing business expense, I gotta travel,
Hey, I gotta talk like howmuch of that is? Like I really
don't know, as a musician orentertainer how much you can be like,
well, we have to stay hereat this place because it's well, I
remember it's between the two of themas well, between between the two of
them, because what's team make hemakes He's about seventeen year or something like
(50:37):
that, not counting endorsements probably too, because he's all over the place.
And then she's you know, she'sa billionaire. I think she just I'm
not positive, but I think she'sa billionaire now, or at least she's
responsible for a billion with what she'sbeen able to do net worth. That's
probably about true. Yeah, yeah, But to your point, anytime they're
(50:58):
going somewhere, like if I ifyou owned a like upper scale restaurant and
I call you and say, hey, Taytay and Travor on their way in,
and you go, okay, butyou got to provide security. Gotcha,
I'll do it, no problem. So they probably recoup some of that
cash. But they're like one couple, one dating couple is responsible for twenty
(51:22):
seven million dollars worth of spending. What did we do wrong? Why can't
we catch footballs and sing sad songs? Now, having a few months going
by after Kelsey's and his Chiefs teammateshave owned this, bro, are you
still surprised he's coming back? Likenow hearing this, Hey, my girlfriend
and I spend one hundred thousand dollarsestimated a day. Uh that their podcast
(51:46):
is on hiatus because he's going backto camp here soon, So they're gonna
be on hiatus for a while. What's he doing? You don't just want
to hang out? Taylor Swift allday live, a great lifestyle, good
looking guy, got in much. She's a billionaire allegedly. What are you
doing out there playing football? Sodo you think? I think you're a
hall of famer? I feel prettyconfident you're going to the Hall of Fame?
What left is there to accomplish forTravis Kelsey, He's got a good
(52:08):
like verd Lander obviously, the samething about vert Lander. You're going to
the Hall of Fame. You've onyour side, young, you've won your
world series. Hang out with yoursupermodel wife? Do you not want to?
Maybe? Maybe maybe if you justdon't want to be retired? But
say what they do? Like, what's the difference between Ali Marpett and you?
Right? You both you both wentto Hobart, you both played offensive
(52:29):
line. He's a little younger thanme. But that's about honestly, that's
probably about it. I would,I would. I'm no offense to you,
because again it's not just you,it's I think it's all of us.
He's got a certain drive you don'thave. He's got a certain level
you don't have. And by theway, Travis Kelsey has a level that
he doesn't have because he could probablystill play, but he quit. He
(52:49):
retired. Get up playing a ukuleale for a bunch of whatever's out there.
But like, there's something in peoplelike Travis Kelcey that is not in
us. We don't like, Ohmy god, that hurts. But if
I keep doing it twenty thirty fortymore times this week, I'll be a
pro and I'll be the best thereis. Yeah, or wings, you
(53:12):
know, I mean, you know, but he you know, he did
that. He fought through a lotof adversity. You know, I already
quit, didn't have to remember thebest. Remember Albert Hainsworth, Albert Haynesworth
got paid fifty million dollars. Iremember us so much younger. When Albert
Hainsworth got that money. I'm like, oh my god, what a bust.
He stinks he's the worst. AndI forget, did you really want
to work out after getting fifty million? I mean, that's hitting your bank
(53:34):
account no matter what. Well, right, that's certain thing like you see
it on the contract, things likelike oh made it good? All right?
Finish line where you know you hatejj Watt, but jj Watt saw
that as the starting line. Like, I don't think you saw the guy
play. He's not done. He'sfar from done. And you can,
(53:57):
with the help of the best quarterbackof our of our day right now,
you could rewrite the record books. There's a chance he could do things if
he plays two, three more years. How many records do do he and
Mahomes destroy? Like, I thinkit falls back a little bit because you
know the Raiders are right there. But whatever, let me have it,
(54:17):
just let me have it. Butyeah, no, especially now you know
he has to keep playing. Onehundred thousand dollars a day. That ain't
cheap. We'll catch more touchdowns.Man, you gotta pay for a couple
more dates. Do you think Taylorstiff stings hanging around with No, I
think she's not amazing. Yeah,yeah, she's a good hang I don't
know. I'll take that. I'lltake that risk. I just like,
(54:38):
again, how boring can you be? One hundred thousand dollars a day and
she's had she had fun at football? You saw that. I think the
way for me, the way awoman reacts at a football game kind of
tells me whether or not we couldbe friends. Was it? It might
have been cold and rich. Imean actually heard them say that where you
have to date somebody for a yearbefore you realize, like what kind of
(54:59):
sport not they are if you canbe around them, because like the baseball
version versus the football version is verydifferent. Like if I see like like
if you if you can form somekind of passion about football, we probably
can hang out. If you goto a football game, you're like,
oh god, is that over?It means you anything else? Besides what
why don't they use their feet more? How long is a baseball game?
Right? Timelise, like exactly tothe minute. I have something to do,
(55:22):
like you know whatever, like likelook, I bought a pretty shirt.
Oh cool, all right, yeah, let's go. You know you
got a Raiders shirt on? Let'sfirebird shirt on. Let's do that.
And then it's like, oh,I just wanted to look I don't care
about Oh yeah, come on,you gotta care. She cares like I
think she's I think she's probably fun. Take me out to the ballgame.
Instagram posts five posts. But wecan leave now, got it? On
(55:45):
the ig the phony first, wecan't leave the back. We have two
more hours left, speakers, Igotta go. I got a thing.
