Speaker 1 (00:00):
Seven, a line of police officers Romain unpaid administrative leave
following an officer involved shooting on October thirty. First Officer
Bryce Metz, along with the passenger and the vehicle firing
at police, were injured, as was another passenger in the car. Thankfully,
there were no fatalities in that incident and all are
reported to be recovering. However, LPD is working with the

(00:23):
equivalent of an entire shift of officers not available, and
Major Ron Holman says they are covering with overtime, but
they hope to get all the officers back soon.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Officer Metz thankfully is recovering from his wounds and he
seems to be doing great, and we're hoping to have
him back here real soon as well as well as
the other six officers that are on leave. But that again,
it's not something we want to rush in terms of
I mean, we will work some overtime and we'll cover
this stuff here. We want to make sure we get
this right, both for their sake and for the city.

(00:56):
The investigation has been turned over to OHIOBCI. That's kind
of their call here as far as when they're going
to close this.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Out in Washington the House moved one step closer to
voting on a funding bill that would end the government shutdown.
Fox's Actually Stromyer as the latest.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
A key House committee voted eight to four over nine
to advance the legislation, sending it to the full House
floor for consideration. If passed in the House, the bill
would fund the government through January thirtieth. It would also
provide funding for some government agencies for the remainder of
the fiscal year. The House Rules Committee rejected a slew

(01:32):
of amendments offered up by Democratic lawmakers, including one aimed
at extending expiring health insurance subsidies. The final vote to
end the forty three day long shutdown could now come
as early as four pm this afternoon.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
That's Fox's Ashley Stromyer reporting President Trump has committed to
signing the bill once it passes. The bill would also
reverse the Trump administration's mass firings of federal workers and
guaranteed backpay once the shutdown. Meanwhile, flights are still being
cut at airports across the country, with the total number
of cuts expected to rise to ten percent. On Friday,

(02:09):
Many folks attended events at Hera Arena near Dayton over
the years. Maybe you saw Dayton Jim's hockey or WWF
wrestling or a concert. Well. That facility closed nearly ten
years ago and was demolished in twenty twenty, but now
the site will have a new use. We get details
with iHeartRadio's Lee Mawen.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Ohio will buy the former Hara Arena site in Shrotwood
for two and a half million dollars for a new
mental health facility. Harrison Township's communications manager Nathan Edwards said
that work will soon begin to the site and a
goal is to open the hospital by twenty thirty. He
adds the new facility will help anyone that needs support.
The City of Trotwood will hold two town halls to

(02:50):
discuss the new facility on the twelfth and eighteenth this month.
I'm Lee Mawen.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
State lawmakers want to make you more aware of what
your are eating. The Ohio House Agriculture Committee has approved
an amendment to a bill that would make chain restaurants
add warning labels to menu items with high sodium levels.
The bill is based on labeling food allergens, and this
change was unanimously approved. The amendment is supported by the

(03:18):
American Heart Association. The Association says nine out of ten
Americans consume too much sodium, with seventy percent of that
coming from processed foods. The CDC also says that too
much sodium is the leading cause of cardiovascular disease, and
the Ohio Department of Administrative Services is overseeing the rollout

(03:38):
of the next Gen nine one one system across the state.
Officials have invested sixty two million dollars in upgrades over
the last several years, and the system is up and
running in a dozen counties. The new technology allows dispatchers
to pinpoint the locations of nine to one one callers
on cell phones and is much more accurate than using
the older method of using cell tower trying. US State

(04:01):
officials say all counties, the Highway Patrol and ODNR will
have next Gen nine one one capabilities within the next
five years. For the latest news at the top end

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
