Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the WYMA Sports desk. It's week three for the
high school football playoffs, and tonight at our WIMA microphones
will be at Spartan Stadium as top seed at LCC
takes on at Columbus Grove. These teams played several weeks
ago week nine of the season, Columbus Grove one thirty
three twenty five, costing a line of Central Catholic and
NWC title and a perfect regular season. In the first meeting,

(00:22):
Trevin Baxter hurt the t Birds with eighteen receptions for
one hundred and seventy two yards and a touchdown. Most
of those receptions were glorified handoffs on a jet sweep
that were pitched forward, and LCC head coach Colin Stally
knows his defense will need to be better at recognizing
what Columbus Grove is trying to do with their formations.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Got to get lined up. They caught us in a
couple of different formations where we didn't get adjusted too. And
you know, they were going some unbalanced formations, you know,
bringing alignment over or bringing a tight end over, and
you know, outnumbering us at the point of attack, and
our guys were struggling. First half to get that figured out.
Once we got into the second half and got that
figured out, you know, we stopped in for some points

(01:03):
in the second half of the game, So you know,
I think once they made those adjustments, we were really
we really fine. You know, getting lined up being in
position is going to be important for us.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
As for Columbus Grove coach Andy Schaeffer, while his team
won the first matchup, he knows his run defense will
have to be better for the entire game if they
want to do it again.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
They did a great job of running in the second half,
and it was a little bit of their running back
in their quarterback. I think it was more aligned blocking
though their line definitely were a lot more physical on
the second half they were the first half. I really
don't know what got into our kids, and interesting, we've
watched that second half quite a bit and really talked
about what we need to do to make sure that
that doesn't happen again.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
That's our game tonight here on WIMA. You can hear
it through the iHeartRadio app as well. LCC taking on
Columbus Grove. Meanwhile, the bath Wildcats have a tall task
tonight as they had to Shelby to take on the
top seeded Whippets, who are eleven and zero. They are
led by the man most people say, we'll be mister
football in Ohio, quarterback Brandon DeVito, who is headed to
Air Force to play collegiately. Bath coach Frank Russell says

(02:04):
his defense will be hard pressed to put the clamps
on DeVito, but he hopes they have a way to
at least keep his team in the game.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
You're not going to contain a player like him, but
you want limit the amount of big plays that we allow,
and you know, we want to force him into some
situations that he may not be accustomed to, and some
third and longs and maybe put a little pressure on
him the fact that he's going to get the ball
out and see how he handles, you know, some of
those things.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
And over on our sister station. One of the seven
five the Big Bucky In on the iHeartRadio app is
the much anticipated matchup between Wampakanetta and Toledo's Central Catholic
Wapauck eleven and zero on the season, taking on perennial
state champion Irish, who were runners up last year after
winning the state in twenty three and twenty four. Wapawk
coach Travis Moyer knows his team will have to be

(02:51):
at their absolute best to beat the Irish tonight.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
It's gonna be a big challenge for us for that fact.
They have the ability to run and throw the ball effectively.
We're out to tackle exception all in space and hopefully
the bill to create some turnovers. And from an offensive standpoint,
you know, they're multiple front defense. They're very fast, they're
very physical, and you know, we've got to do a
good job of maintaining sustaining our blocks. The line of

(03:14):
scrimmage will be critical, and special team is going to
be very important terms of field position.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Again, you can hear that Wapawk Central Catholic game on
our sister station one oh seven five The Big Buck
and on the iHeartRadio app elsewhere. Tonight, Liberty Benton plays
Liberty Center in a battle of undefeateds in Division five.

at Northeastern. Also in Division seven, same region as LCC
and Columbus Grove, it's Pandora Gilboa at Lipsick tonight, And

(03:41):
in Division seven Region twenty eight, Number one very in
local will host Fort Recovery and at Saint Henry Home
for Cedarville NFL action. Last night, Trevion Henderson scored three
touchdowns as the Patriots beat the Jets twenty seven to fourteen.
Pats of one eight in a row. They're now nine
to two. Jets fall to two and eight NBA. The
Cavaliers lost at home to Toronto one twenty six, one thirteen,

(04:03):
despite thirty one from Donovan Mitchell. The Calves host of
the Grizzlies tomorrow in Columbus, the Blue Jackets edged the

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
