(00:00):
Live from three months three to experiencein fabulous downtown Las Vegas. It's the
podcast that celebrates our city. Thisis living Las Vegas, emphasis on the
words celebrate a city of champions thatwe are here in Las Vegas. Started
with our world champion Las Vegas asis whoop by the way, looking like
they might go again. Well, listen, let me just stop you down
(00:24):
for a second, because the NewYork Liberty appeared have our number well,
and they've beaaten us twice in arow. So four of our losses,
we've got four losses, two ofthem have come to that team. Now,
after we lost to them again thisweek, I think those analysts may
be thinking the Liberty have the edge. Get those losses out of the way
(00:47):
now so we can analyze where wewent wrong and correct them for when it's
playoff time. Baby, That's whatwe do. And then of course our
Vegas Golden Nights, and now wemight have a Little League possible World Series
champion in the baseball team howl.Okay, listen, even if they don't
win it, and I think theywill win it, and we're going to
stay positive even if they don't winit, we need to throw them the
kind of parade that we throw justa Water Street. If they win it
(01:15):
all, we bring it to theStrip. But if they don't do it
on Street. Well, we wereat the Water Street watch party for one
of the games in the Standard. It was the game they won, Yeah,
the final game, and that thatwas electric. I would love to
see that kind of celebration their WaterStreet plaza for the Henderson All Stars that
are okay, down a game already, that's okay. They lost game one
(01:38):
first, right, I watched thatgame. It was closer than I mean,
you know, it was three one, right, that was the final
and they had a little momentum lateand there was a weird like call that
didn't go their way, and Ithink that kind of killed their momentum.
But this is happening in Williamsport,Pennsylvania. They traveled from Vegas. If
a pro team goes West Coast toEast coast, that pro team struggles with
(02:01):
travel. You're talking about little leaguers. They're going to struggle with travel too.
So I think it was like atravel issue. And the other team
Island by the way, that's mypoint. So the other team is an
East Coast team playing on the EastCoast. I think that plays into it.
Now they're gonna get their legs backunder them, and Saturday we play
again, we start to we're doinga breakdown. We're doing whole analysis baseball
(02:23):
tomorrow at the sixth Eastern, whichouldbe three hour time Saturday, right,
yeah? So where can we watchthe game? Where? I don't know
where to find it. I thinkthere's some Henderson places doing watch parties for
these two. I know there waswatch parties for the Wednesday game. No,
I mean, is it on anetwork? ESPN is where I saw.
Okay, you're listening to it onthe radio, weren't you? I
(02:45):
was watching it on ESPN Plus.Subscribe to ESPN Plus. I was watching
it on Wednesday, but you mayhave heard it in my office because it
was playing on the scot Very cool, and it's also a great look for
Henderson and those kids and getting somenational TV exposure and win or lose to
the point I want of you madeearlier. Celebrate these kids and the fact
(03:07):
that they made it. It's onlythe second correct me if I'm wrong,
The only the second team from Nevadato make it to the League World Series.
I saw that stat before when theyannounced that they were going last sounds
right enough. I don't know. It's very cool and correct you because I
don't know is this the best offive or seven series? Also don't know
that. But it's an important wingame tomorrow. Win all the games,
(03:28):
yes, win them all, andwe will celebrate appropriately on Water Street,
first rounds on me. I'm talkingSodas sleep Sirley Temples for all. It
is a really cool celebration of thegame. When you're again you're watching on
ESPN, and while ESPN proper didn'tair our game, I don't think they
are airing some of the games right, and as they get deeper into the
World Series, they are them andthey just again it's a celebration of the
(03:52):
innocence of the you know, thegame, and we don't talk about that
very much. Like the innocence. There's no innocence in pro baseball, and
even in college now with nil dealsand all of these things that have changed
college level sports, the innocence issort of gone and probably hasn't been there
in a while anyway. But whenyou're talking about little leaguers who are just
(04:12):
playing for the love of the gameand they're in our backyard, and who
knows your team. Even if yourkid's not on this team that went to
william Sport, your kid may haveplayed against these guys at some point and
they're out there celebrating the game. It's uh, listen, it's one of
the things you love about baseball. It's hard to not be romantic about baseball.
Look if you have if you livein Henderson like me, your kids
(04:33):
might go to school with these kids. I mean, that's pretty dang awesome.
So they should be proud, andthe parents should be proud. They're
yeah, at this point in theirlives, Like, that's a cool thing
to say that you did. Youknow, like it kind of sets you
up for what's to come next, you know. I like it. And
it's been supported by like the A'smade a donation to help these guys with
(04:56):
their travels and their food when they'reout there. So I'm going to cost
money to listen, if you've hada kid in travel, baseball did cost
money travel in baseball times one hundred. So these families are out there spending
money. So the ACE made adonation. I want to say, either
the Golden Knights or the Henderson SilverKnights made a donation as well. So
donations have come in from the communityto help these kids to realize this dream.
Right, that's pretty incredible. Sothe fact that there is the achievement
(05:19):
worth celebrating in itself. Yeah, whether or not they win, which we're
gonna keep it positive, they're gonnathey want to win, So we want
them to win, and that's whatwe're focused on winning, and we more
importantly want to celebrate them when theyreturn home, just because they represented our
city in a great way and theCity of Champions is holding the place on
the mantel. Guys, bring itback, baby, let's go. Yeah,
(05:41):
come on there. All we dois win. As I wish we
could play the song on a podcast, but I would be queueing up to
yeah exactly. So we're proud ofthese kids and we will. If you
want to send a message of supportto them, you can easily tap the
microphone to talk back Mike on ouriHeart Radio app. If you want to
give it one of the kids ashout out, you know a family over
there traveling with the team. Givethose shouts out. We'll be playing some
(06:04):
of them back next week if weget some talkbacks from you listening to this
podcast. I know we have alot of fans in Henderson, my neck
of the woods, and forget whatyou've heard in the past. Tony is
all about helping out these Henderson baseballteams. I think Henderson's great. I'd
like to visit once or twice ayear. Well, he's already been there
once for Calabunga Bay last week,so I probably won't get out there again
(06:24):
until twenty twenty four. But Henderson, every time I've been a handful of
times now, it's always been nice. When when they win the weird Little
League World Series and we plan acelebration on Water Street, can we count
on you stopping by, Tony,I'll be there, all right. You've
heard it here first on the LivingLas Vegas podcast. Somebody write that down.
