we'll start this with a year.I just want to ask you, do
you know how to spell flavor flavsand name? You gotta spell it?
I know who are at the end? Thank you? All right, there
(00:21):
you go. People do say flavorflav all the time, and that's not
correct. No. I learned thatfrom you. Thank you, and he
can't stand that. It's Mojoe fromninety five five The Bowl I S and
Tony from ninety three one The Mountain. Ice got her name, by the
way, from a show called Flavorof Love on VH one like twenty years
ago. Stop but that's like fifteenyears ago. Okay, no, sixteen,
I rounded up. So you gotto say that. Going in to
(00:42):
explain why Ice had the best nightever Friday. Yeah, and the stage
is set, Tony, you readyfor this? I'm ready. Have you
read this whole story yet? No, first time hearing it, A surprised.
I've probably told everybody that I know, and I put it on social
media. So Friday night, moJoe, thank you again, for the
invite. We went to go seeJelly Roll, and we're almost bailed.
(01:04):
I did. I almost bailed justbecause there was a lot going on,
you know, a lot of stuffhappening, of course in Las Vegas.
And I was like, no,you know what, I like Jelly Roll.
He's super cool. Let's go checkit out. So that was at
MGM Grand Garden Arena. So wechecked that out and we're doing the little
eaton great, which is cool.I like how he does that. He
takes the time to you know, meet his fans and actually like have a
(01:26):
conversation versus just take a photo andpeace out. So all of a sudden,
here comes his wife, Bunny, right, who's from here? Who
is from here? Yeah? Andthey've been living here in Las Vegas for
like the last seven years, Iremember him saying. And then a swarm
of people came into this back room. Remember, Yeah, it was crazy.
It was crazy. It was like, all of a sudden, here's
Bunny and here's all these people. So the first two people we see the
(01:49):
Las Vegas Aces, Alicia Clark andJackie Young, shout out, have you
ever met them? No? No? Super cool, Yeah, very cool
people. I was like Oh mygosh, I'm like, I know you
played for the Aces. I gottaget a pick. I was one of
those people. Randomly, Mojo andI are just having a conversation and I
overhear somebody say, yeah, thatthat guy with the clocks out in the
hallway. I said, hang onone second, So I left go in
(02:14):
the hallway to see none other myex boyfriends Flavor freaking Flay, who you
have been trying and you've been tryingto reconnect with him for years, but
when years here, we're like,oh, he lives here in town,
you'll probably run into him. Andeverybody in the world's run into him except
for you over the last year.My friends though. You know, one
of my friends, Brilliance, hesat next to him on an airplane flight
(02:34):
because he lives part time in Detroit. His girlfriend's from Detroit and lives part
time here, and so that wasjust that connection. And I'm just like,
dude, how's everybody that I knowseeing Flavor and I have yet to
run into him. So long storyshort, man, we he remembered me.
I was like flav it's ice.He was like ahead and it had
like a ten minute long conversation withhim. I said, listen, man,
(02:57):
I said, you know the timeyou spend between here in Detroit.
Here's my card. He's like, and this is your you know, contact
information. I said, yes,you know, let's let's connect. Let's
gets you on the podcast. Let'sget you here to the iHeart Building.
And just so happens, Public Enemyis performing at our iHeartRadio Music Festival,
so hopefully we can make something withthat happen. And by the way,
you know, it was a genuineinteraction because his team was surrounded him,
(03:21):
his girlfriend was there and her daughterand his son. I've got to meet
his son, Karma. That wascool. And the guy, who I
guess is his handler kept trying topull him away. Yeah, and he
finally like brush him. He waslike, no, man, not yet.
Yeah, I'm having a conversation. So you know, he wasn't like
trying to rush in and keep moving. But what's oh gosh, he's he's
short. Yeah, he's probably gotto be like five six because I'm five
to eleven and he probably comes upto about here on me. Yeah,
(03:43):
he looks up to you, Tony. He really have you ever ran into
flavor flav here? No? No, no, it's been a while since
he's been in our building. Thatwas that was before me, right,
yeah, but he's been here andwait what Yeah, Flavor Flav came to
the iHeart building. Oh I didn'tknow that a long time ago. So
that's why we need to bring himback. It's been too long. It's
(04:03):
been way too long. And youcould just I'm sure you can hear the
smile on my face right now. He's got to be in his sixties now.
It's interesting to hear you describe himas your ex boyfriend? Is that
the relationship? But was ex boyfriend? You know? I like to think
of it as more of a friendship. You know, because the premise of
(04:25):
the show, you're on that showto date Flavor Flav. Right, how
many girls were you up against inthe competition? It's about a hand full,
about twenty twenty girls, all right? Because I never saw itard of
it. It's like Rock of Love, Real Chance of Love Watch, Yeah,
it was very similar, but Flavorof It really set the tone for
(04:45):
like those kinds of reality TV shows. Everybody recognizes you from it too.
Oh no, you're right, that'sawesome. It's crazy. I think more
people recognize me just from my voicethan they do from the actual show.
But I do get both still, like you said most sixteen years ago,
dude, And it wasn't New Yorkon that show. She got her whole
spin off, like there's New YorkI believe was on season two, but
this but on Flavor of Love yougot it, you got it, And
(05:09):
that's how she got her spinoff. The lady who was on the show,
she had her own stating show afterthat, called I Love New York.
That was same idea. I didn'tsee that. It was like there was
like two or three seasons. Also, if Flavor flav were to give you
both names, what would the namesbe? Oh my gosh, I'm not
even gonna try and guess Tony's becauseI don't want to say anything. Toni's
would be something like, uh somethingItalian. No, it's Italian, like
(05:32):
Canoli. I didn't say it,Tony. I guess Pepperoni. I don't
even want to know it. It'sclever stuff. Yeah, Pepperoni. It's
been a while since they said toPepperoni. Was that really a thing?
At one point in kindergarten? Yes, sure are jerks man, Is that
(05:56):
a bad thing? I don't evenknow, no, I think that's awesome.
I love food. Oh yeah, yeah, it's true and the weird.
Yeah, in modes you would justbe like Dad, I will say,
I am the biggest fumbler when itcomes to handshakes, especial because you
don't know. I mean, ifyou're not going in for a fist bump,
then it gets tricky, like yougo like this, do you go?
You know what I mean? Thedifferent ways you go with fault.
(06:17):
Yeah, this one was the boppop pop. I did it so clean.
I was like, yeah, Ididn't mess it up for you.
Yeah, but that was the firsttime I've ever had like a smooth,
like what up handshake, And Ifelt kind of cool for just talking about
it on his podcast. That wasone of those things. It just went
(06:41):
so well. He was super nice, super kind and gracious for this time.
He really was. I have aposition for I have a proposition.
What you know. We have thisLiving Las Vegas podcast, and you've talked
about him having him on, especiallyas we lead up to the iHeart Radio
Music Festival in just a few weeks. Yeah, where he's his man.
Public Enemy's going to be celebrating fiftyyears a hip pop on stage. They
can still availables dot com. Nicestarted fifty five dollars. But here's my
(07:04):
proposition. We get him in here. Why doesn't he do the intro for
the show. So, my gosh, that was perfect. Right, I'm
in so we need even if hecan't make it in right, we gotta
get in to record the intro seriously, because like he intro Jelly, that
was his whole reason. He wasokay, yea, so good, so
(07:26):
good, I have the whole thing. He knows how to hype up a
room, he definitely does. Anddon't forget to mention too, how some
music there's actually going to be apublic enemy experience too, and that's completely
free on Soshiba Plaza both Friday andSaturday. So I hope his clocks on
display and it's do a interactive artthing with Chuck Dean. Yeah, he
was wearing a small clock. Oneperson said, wasn't even wearing he was
(07:50):
wearing. He was. And I'dnever seen so much bling on jewelry in
my life, Holy smoke. Andhe had an Eminem shirt on and right,
flav we know you're listening. Let'sget you in here and do this
intro. Man, How cool.Would that be so freaking cool? Okay,
so we're gonna put that in theuniversity as well as we best best
night ever there? There? WhatI did have another instance? Where was
(08:13):
it the same? I mean? Was it better than your time on the
shows? Good question? Yeah?Because it was just him and I.
It wasn't You weren't surrounded by allthese other crazy personalities. You exited the
show. You didn't hear from himvery much after them? No? Oh
no. And you know where Istarted in radio, our morning show there,
they would have him on the show. They would crack jokes. One
(08:33):
of our girls was actually on theshow. He remembered me. Then.
Uh. Public Enemy actually played aMovement, which is an electronic dance music
festival in Detroit. That was probablyten years ago. I was backstage saw
him then, so I've only seenit. That was the second time I've
seen him probably since doing the show. Is there any tension between you and
the girlfriend? He was talking toher as you were talking in were you?
(08:54):
I was like, she's been lookingforward to reconnecting with him and say
high, Yeah, and for liketen years. So yeah, sorry if
this is seeming weird, right,She's That's what she's been looking forward to.
Yeah, yeah, just the energyjust to see it. Totally cool
and she's alone. No, no, I'm not saying no her, but
I'm saying just saying hi, isnot what you're There's more to it than
(09:16):
that. You're hoping he reaches outright. I kind of do. I
kind of do. I don't knowif we need to work it out on
you just never know. There couldbe so many opportunities, man, so
many opportunities just on a professional level. Yeah, not on a personal level.
Okay, although I did tell mymom that, She's like, can
stop at wait, I'm like,Hi, he could be my boyfriend.
We had almost so now you're saidprofessional. Now you're saying boyfriend. We
(09:39):
had a long night that night. But I remember you specifically saying, dang,
he's still fine. Did I nothear you say that? Just making
sure I heard it right. Youmight have had so many Jack and Cooks.
I'm pretty sure I heard that anywayit regardless, I didn't have any
Jack and cookes. One of thebest nights that i' ever forget and Las
(10:01):
Vegas. I just want to say, pretty badass man. Yeah, yeah,
that is that does kind of feellike an only in Vegas kind of
a situation. Right, what wasthat phrase? As somebody said and he
came up. It was at theJelly Roll show. Somebody said a phrase
that were like, gosh, Ishould be the slogan for Vegas. Do
you remember what that was? Whathappens in Vegas? No? No,
no, yeah, that's what everybodyshould be a slogan. I don't know
(10:26):
something. It was something to thelines of it that could be different in
Vegas, like why not or somethinglike I forgot what it was, but
it was so great story Joe.Yeah, I'll come up with what that
was and that show Joe whatever.Alright, guys had an awesome night.
That's well. There was supposed tobe a part two. He was supposed
to show up because there's the newLosers that they opened across from Park MGM,
(10:48):

dropping. He literally said, hey, guys, we're closing it down and
do an after party over there. Then owner is a friend of mine.

think Flave's gonna come. Yeah.Drake was supposed to stop buys were like
us, Oh yeah, we wentwhere was there? Yeah? I guess
right, making this a long night, because how do you turn stuff like
(11:09):
that down when you get that opportunity. Seriously, hey, Tony, trust
me, it was two Amy waspretty great. I thought about being like,
I don't know if I want tocommit to stay in the whole night.
We had to have Drake in hereto do an open for the show
as well. Come on, he'sgot to start through all those bras that
he keeps kidding. You can makeAi Drake now, so well, I'll
just go that route. But youcan't make an AI flav You can't know,
(11:31):
