and I want to start here withthis. The Phillies are have the best
record in baseball. What do youmake of that? What's the first thing
that goes to your mind? Isit surprising? Is it shocking? Is
it something you banked on? Youknow, everything leading up to where we're
at right now. I'm not hanginga banner. It's CIS's Bank Park,

by No means, but it's stillpretty damn cool to have the best record
in baseball six seven weeks into theyear. Yeah, it's not bad.
I said before the season. Ithink if they play consistent baseball, they
can win one hundred games. Andall they've done so far this year is
played consistent baseball. They're winning thegames they should. They're fourteen games over

five hundred in May. I couldn'ttell you the last time they were even
close to that number in May,so they they're just getting the done.
It seems like the team just kindof knows, like what they need to
do. The past years, Ithink the issues have been they kind of
get lax of day school the firstfew months, and then June first hits
and and and you know, weget June schwar where everyone goes goes nuclear

for the next four months. ButI think they're finally starting to put together
a full baseball season, and Ithink they realize that with some issues with
the Braves, who haven't looked great. I mean, they've looked pretty good,
but they haven't looked like the Bravesfrom the last two years so far.
I mean, the Phillies know thatthey can win this division and right

now. I think the Phillies knowthat they could probably hold the top spot
in the entire league by the endof the season if they keep playing how
they're playing right now. So yeah, I mean all the all the vibes
are good. Uh, basically,to put it into perspective for tonight,
the Phillies are good and the Marlinsare not. That's that's that's kind of
the best analysis there for tonight.Yeah, this is gonna be a rough

Mother's Day weekend for the Miami mothersdown there. That's a ten and twenty
nine ball club. It's just atrocious. They've been waving a white flag essentially
from the first game of the season. Luisa Raiz just got dealt to the
San Diego Padres two weeks ago,week ago, whatever it was. It's
all she wrote. This is athis is a dead man walking team.
And what the Phillies need to godown there is just play their ball.

And we know sometimes in one sixtytwo, especially against teams like the Marlins
where maybe they had the night offthe night before, maybe they went out
a little bit enjoyed some Miami nightlife. Who knows, not opposed to
that at all. It's one sixtytwo long year. But you know,
the Fish have beaten the Phillies insimilar situations. So I'm not one of
these guys that decides to go hogwild because you're taking on a team that's

absolutely in the dumpster. But RangerSuarez on the mountain minus two to five,
Trevor Rodgers getting the start for theMarlins at plus one seventy this evening,
seven to ten, first pitch,seven and a half is your number
here as far as as the totalis concerned. In the game, and
I understand, Rangers Suarez has beendominant. He's been really damn good.
He's going for his three is eighthvictory I believe in the season, this

Sea this year. But you know, the bats have been swinging really good
right now for the Phillies. SoI'm looking at the team total for the
Phillies, which is at three anda half slash four in some shops.
I like that number. I alsowant to be opposed to over the total
eight and a half or seven anda half right here. I just think
that's really low, and I doexpect the Phills to go down there play

with some confidence with Suarez on themount and give him some offensive support here.
Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily look atthe game number. I would really
more focus on the Phillies. Idon't think this Marlins lineup has any juice
to it, especially with Rangers Suarez, who is I mean, he's basically
been like a top five pitcher inthe entire league. You can make an
argument for top three. I wouldlook more at that three and a half

number for the Phillies. It's it'sreally just the simple case. Like I
said, the Phillies are really good. The Marlins are really bad. They
don't have a qualified hitter with anOPS over eight hundred this year. They're
twenty ninth in the league in ane r A. They're not pitching good,
they're not hitting good, they're notplaying good defense. When you don't
do that, you're not gonna beatthe good teams. The Phillies have had

their struggles with the Marlins in thepast. That's kind of always been there.
They're one easy team that for somereason has always given them a bit
of a hitch. But I don'tI don't see that being the case this
year. I mean, they're they'ree er a leader right now on their
team as a four to five fourlike that. That's the lowest e RA
out of all qualified pitchers on theirteam. So if you i'm I'm I'm

all over that Phillies number. Teamtotal minus one and a half. If
you want to throw the money linein a parlay, that that works as
well. But there's just no thereis not a single thing that I can
look at this game to night andand you can convince me that the Marlins
would even come close to winning thisone. It's it's it's just not it's
not there. It's just they're justthe no good I would have. Yeah.

Yeah, I just want to pointthis out that I love these numbers,
especially when it's a bad team outthere. You are looking at right
now on DraftKings Sportsbook team total forthe Marlins two and a half at minus
one twenty two. That's just crazy, man. That is absolutely wild to
me. But that's where they're at. That's a team that's absolutely in the

dumpster. So you need to godown there and handle business. You're not
gonna get anything from me as faras like you said, with the Marlins
side, You're right, I'm gladwe do this. I love when we
get together and we talk about thesegames. The team total or the total
in the game would be a mistake. It's seven and a half. It
would just be a mistake. Lookat the Phillies. If runs are gonna
come in this game, it's comingone side, So you really want to

You can get the alternate line forthe Phillies at five and a half plus
one forty. You can go sixand a half of plus two ten.
I honestly would not be opposed tosix and a half at plus two ten,

just coming off a loss, theirfirst loss at home in twenty four games

stuff with Luke is the fact thatthat Trey Turner ended up pulling a hammy
with six for and he's gonna beout for six weeks. Now the good

not many things that are good whenTrey Turner, who was hot as hell,
hottest fish grease, ended up gettinghurt and missing six weeks. But

six weeks? And I did not, And he laid out the teams.

It's the Mets, it's the Angels. It's the best possible time for Trey

mean, they have the Marlins forthree, they have the Mets for four,
who, while it's a division rival, we are way better than the
Mets. Then they have the Nationals. Is that Mets series? Is that

one of the weirdest things I've everseen. Two games are in New York,
two games are in Philly. Ihaven't seen that in a while.
So yeah, they have Marlins forthree in New York for two, then
then then home versut New York fortwo Nationals at home, Rangers at home,
which Rangers are good, but I'llstill I'll take us at home over

the Rangers, Rockies in course Field, Mash City, Giants in San Francisco,
Saint Louis. Like this, Thisnext six weeks is cake basically other
other than that Ranger series. Sothere's never a good time for a player
to get hurt, but this thisreally is the one because if you kind

of get into June, June's whereit gets a little tough. They have
Boston, Baltimore, San Diego,Arizona, so he should hopefully be back
for that beginning of June stretch.I think maybe a week or so into

picked up the slack, most notablyover the last week. Bryce Harper just
absolutely matching the ball. Want opsover thirteen hundred over the last seven days.
Obviously, he had the big GrandSlam the other night. In his
last six games, he has hevenhits, ten RBIs, sixteen total bases.

He's been He's been crushing the ball. Nick Castianos, a name who
got off to a really, reallytough start obviously, as we all know,
has an eight thirty ops. Overthe last week, he's put the
ball in play a lot. Jtreal Muto's looked great. Bryson stopped coming
back around. He has a nineto fifty ops. Another guy who got
off to a slow start. Soit's as Trey goes down, I asked

I, I think it was theday Trey went out. I asked,
I need Bryce, I need Castianos, and I need Scott. All three
of those to step up. Andover the last week they've been the three
best hitters on the team, Sothat that's really all you can ask for.
And even even when you lose yourhits leader on the season, this
offense is still rolling. That's feesa lot. It's exciting time to be

a Phillies fan. It really isteams and it's an exciting time to be
a Morlans fan. No, definitelynot. Yeah, you know, just
the fact of where this team hasbeen over the past few seasons, the
addition of Bryce Harper, everything hasjust been raised from the likability factor.
Now they just got to match itup with winning, you know, being
dominant, like because this team haswon over the past three seasons. It's

now if you are at that levelof where the expectation for me. When
we talked about a preseason, Ineed to go into it. You talked
about the best pitching staff in baseball. One of I said, our expectations
need to change. Now. Iknow that Strider gets hurt for the Braves,
YadA, YadA, YadA. We'renot even discussing that just yet.
Focusing on the Phillies here. Youknow this team, I needed it to

match up in the regular season.They've done that, and then holding the
best record right here right now maytend Luke. You know, I saw
a stat this morning on MLB Networkthat said the largest postseason probability increases so
far from entering the season in Marchto where we're at right now. Phillies
are top of the chart. Youknow, even even our expectations for this

team to get into the postseason.All you know the metrics and the analytics
of the fangrafts and how they comeup with those numbers. I get it.
I have no idea how the howthe cookies are made, but I
do know this much. Thirty sixpoint eight was the increase from where they
were. They had a probability werefloating around five to get into the playoffs.
I thought that was low. Youthought that was low. Everybody thought

that was low. But man,this team has been playing some great baseball.
It starts with the pitching. Inmy mind, right, I think
that's that's hard to argue at thispoint in time. Yeah. Absolutely.
I mean their top three in everysingle pitching statistic from starting pitching, they're
number two in the r A firstand innings pitched, uh heck, and
best and earn runs allowed first andwith there, They're just these these starters

have just been unbelievable. They Theyhave thirty four of the phillies thirty eight
games this year, their starting pitcherhas allowed three or less earned runs.
They have put this team in aplace to succeed basically every single night.
So as long as the offense goesa little bit, these starters are doing
their job and more. Zach Wheeler'sfront runner to win Cy young Ranger Suarez,

if he wasn't technically a number three, would probably lead all odds in
all of baseball. Spencer Turnbull signedfor two million dollars and now that he
obviously got moved to the bullpen,he has he has like a one six
y r. Aaron Nole is stillAaron Nola right, Christopher Sanchez a big
bounce back start the other night.Even Walker looks good in his last start.

All six of these starters right nowjust look fantastic. For the first
time in a while, I I'veI somehow feel the best even without this
lineup is hitting. I still feelthe best about the pitching, which which
is something that we haven't said ina long time for the Phillies. So
it's I mean, it's it's awesometo see and I think it will hold.

It looks like something that that willhold. Rangers always been like this.
We know how Ranger gets in theplayoffs. The dude's just an animal.
And when the lights are the brightestRangers at his best. Are the
lights that bright on a Friday nightgame in May down in Miami. Probably
not, I mean there's that artificiallight in there's probably a little bright,

But I mean Rangers just just dominatingevery single start like one ron run zero
and on seven strikeouts. He's he'sfinally striking batters out more as well.
Less ground balls more strikeouts, whichis awesome to see from Ranger. So
I I like genuinely get excited everyday to watch his team play baseball,

just just because that's good. Theyare like they're living up through expectations.
They're putting the league on notice.They're saying, hey, we've we've had
these playoff runs last two years andand it and it hasn't ended how we
wanted. But like we are thereal deal. Like like this team is
the real deal. This offense iselite, This all of our arms are
elite. The bullpen, while they'vebeen a little underwhelming, their top guys

have still looked really good. JeffHoffman is basically unhittable every time he comes
into the game. Matt Strom looksstraight. He had a rough outing the
air Knight, but he's looked reallygood. Jose Alvarado once again just looks
like Jose Alvarado. Again. Thisis the best Affilies have looked since twenty
eleven. And if they keep playingat the pace that they're playing, I

think they could win more games thanthat twenty eleven team who won one hundred
and four games. Yeah, it'sit's it's you know, Look, we
start comparing again, nobody's hanging abanner. I just want to put that
out there. It's made a defense. It's just a lot of ball left.
Yeah, you're spot on with theenthusiasm of the excitement level for everybody
out there for a Phillies baseball game, right And even though they're playing the

Marlins, I know everybody's gonna belike, yo, Phil's game around seven
o'clock. And I know it's rainingoutside here in Philly, But if you're
going out tonight, you're gonna goto a bar that's gonna be front and
center over any NBA playoff matchup,over any NHL playoff game, doesn't matter
Phillies. Yeah, and we meanlike these last two Octobers, like I

love the Eagles. The Eagles areare my second favorite team, without a
without a doubt. When this Philliesteam is hot in the playoffs, there's
nothing like it, Like there's nothingin this city that's like it. When

and we were struggling. We weretrying to trade trout before he got hurt
to get some pitching, and ofcourse he gets hurt, which is just

are Braves are kind of how they'vebeen. They're they're not as good there.
They're four and sticks in their lastten. They've won their their their

lights bright pitching matchup, but Iwould I would say still go on.
I would probably lean the Braves inthat game. That is a three game
series, I believe, Sunday NightsSunday Night Baseball on ESPN. They actually
have a pretty tough schedule coming upthe Cubs Padres Cubs, So they're they're
pretty tough games. Yeah, they'rejust kind of pitching has been a bit

of an issue, definitely. Ithink what we said all along and what
I said all along coming into thisseason, I think even before they lost
Strider, I wasn't I wasn't thoroughlyimpressed with the back half of their rotation.
I don't think those guys towards theback have been have been that good.

you're trying to continue to win thesedivisions, I think it'll be like six
divisions in a row or something likethat for them. Now you need better
pitching in the back, in theback half of your rotation, and it's
it just hasn't been there. BryceElder has hasn't been good at all.
Chris Sale, well, I dosay I was. I was a little
low on Chris Sale. He's lookedpretty good so far. He is he

I think that's still a situation forme that I need to see it for
a full season out of Chris Saleand then, I mean when it If
you're talking lineup, I mean everybodyknows right now the the top three MVP
in the National League, one ofthem is going to be Marcel Zuna.

After the first month and a half, I mean, the dude's been the
dude's been on a tear. Also, fantasy team, there you go.
Uh, the last few games haven'tbeen as good, but he's I mean
he's still been incredible. Uh.Ops over one thousand But the issue with
with this this lineup right now isafter that Travis Darnaut is their next OPS
leader at eighty eighty three, andthen after that they don't have a guy

over eight hundred. Ronald McCune juniorseven eighty six, he's only hitting two
sixty on the air, Ozzi Albisis hitting two ninety. But I mean
Austin Riley, Austin Riley struggling.Matt Olsen's been really bad to start the
year, averaged just over two hundredwith an OPS under seven hundred. So
a guy that basically was a hugedriving force in their lineup last year has

basically been nowhere, so that that'sdefinitely been hurting them. I mean,
I think we know that they'll turnit around once we get deep into the
summer. I think this lineup isgonna start mashing, kind of like the
Phillies were at first, where Ithink we were a little nervous when we
were losing those games in the beginning. I don't think there's a ton to
