Speaker 1 (00:00):
Or variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's Star one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey
time once again for everybody's favorite. This is second date update.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
This is where we step in. We talked to you.
We figure out what happened on your first date. Yeah,
try to see if you know, we see anything that
would be a red flag and right, you know, we
talked to your date and try to get you a
second one.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
What have we learned about red flags two days ago?
If you watch True Crime to wind down, you might
be a freak show. Corey Foley, listen, I know where
to hide the bodies. So if you want to keep talking,
that's fine.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Let's bring Grant on. Grant. Are you there?

Speaker 4 (00:32):
I am here, Grant?

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Are you a true crime guy? I got to figure
out what I'm dealing with here?

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Yeah, No, I love you know. I don't like to
get too bloody, but I enjoy a little bit of blood.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
A little early for this.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Okay, let's talk about your date with Mary Beth. What
can you tell us about, like how you guys met
and then run us through the first date.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Yeah, so we met on this brand new site. You
guys may have never heard of it. It's called hinge. Obviously,
Mary Beth loves my sense of humor. Uh, now we'll
get to that. Uh. She she she lives in the
East Bay. I live in the East Bay. So that's

(01:15):
like super.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Convenient geographically desirable.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
We like that, as you know, like trying to date
someone on the other side of the water. Good luck.
So I you know, we we had a really great rapport.
Uh you know, we're chatting a lot. She's like incredibly intelligent.
Uh you know, she she actually looked like her photos,

(01:38):
which was you know, that's a plus. It's a plus,
and it doesn't always happen, right, and uh you know,
she like she made me laugh a bunch. Obviously she's
more funnier than I am. And so that's like super helpful.
I've been on those dates where you like have to
like pretend.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
To laugh or carry the whole conversation for example.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Yeah. Yeah, it was like all these things. And and
so we we we met up for lunch in Emoryville. Yeah,
and the vibe is just really great, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
And so we tell me you didn't take her to
Ikea for the meat balls, Tell me you did something else.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Come on, that's gonna be our second date, you know, Yeah,
but no, she we I really enjoyed myself. I feel
like everything, you know, kind of went off of that
hitch and there was just it wasn't awkward. She was

(02:37):
She was funny online when we were texting before, and
she was even funnier and charming in person, And like,
I just don't get it.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
What has happened since? Is she ghosted or just kind
of backed off or.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
Yeah, you can't get a hold of her anymore. It's like,
ok yeah, I guess that's ghosted, Corey.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
You're thought, Okay, so you went to Emeryville, right, very
rich history. After the date, you know, she wants to
check out the town. Maybe she goes to townhouse for
a drink, because you know, townhouse use was used during Prohibition.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
It was a speakeasy.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
You have done some research on this.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
It's also been a brothel and a bar, and now
it's a bar and grill, so you.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Know history, uh huh, So some of.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
The speakeasy features are still there. She finds a hidden
passage cut too. She's in the upside down. She's in
the wear the upside down. I don't even know what
that is it's stranger Things.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
Oh okay, oh wow.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
I love how Granton knows the assignment totally Corey, that's
totally plausible.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
You know what.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
It's either that or an oil drum.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
What do you want?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
No, no, all right, we'll tell you what. Let's call her,
we'll figure out what happened. Can you hold on the
line for a song?

Speaker 4 (03:53):
But yeah, for sure?

Speaker 3 (03:54):
All right, we'll do it.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Next.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Second Date updates Star one on one three more variety
from the two thousands, the nineties, and to day. It's
Star one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey. We
are doing Second Date update right now. We've got Grant
on the phone. He and Mary Beth both live in
the East Bay. They met up in Emoryville. Good vibes
and Grant in your estimation, Nothing weird happened, right, No
awkward moments or anything.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
No, I mean that was like so great.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Yeah, well she has basically disappeared, so let's call her
and try to figure out what's going on.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Well, we'll see what she thought of the date.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Here we go, Hello, Hi may speak with Mary Beth. Please, Hi,
Mary Beth. It's Marcus and Corey from Star one on
one three.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Good morning. Oh my god, what happened?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Oh my god?

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Hi?

Speaker 5 (04:47):
Hi, Hey, am I on the air right now?

Speaker 1 (04:50):
I mean, okay, we need your permission. Oh yeah, do
you know why we might put you on the air. Also,
I love that you listen, Thank you?

Speaker 4 (04:59):
Oh my go.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
Yes, is a second date update?

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Absolutely is.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
By the way, tell your friends to listen as well.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yes, uh, okay, I'm hearing you've been on a date recently.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
We'd like to.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
Discuss I've been on a few.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
You know who is on the phone.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Well, if you've been on a few, I don't want
to put on the spot.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
So Grant is on the phone. Let me help you out. Grant?
Are you there?

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Oh my god, Grant had a great time. Would love
a second date?

Speaker 3 (05:30):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Well?

Speaker 3 (05:31):
I happened you ask any more questions? How did it
go for you?

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Did you ghost?

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (05:38):
So, Grant, I'm yeah I ghosted. Okay, you feel like
I have a good reason though, Okay, yeah, okay, okay,
I'm sorry Grant. Well I'm not. I'm about to out you.
But so you started it. We met a hinge right,

(06:00):
and it was pretty like things were, you know, vibing,
and I was really excited for our day and we
I don't know, he just seemed really cool. He was
like mature and fun and like a really good hang.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
And I didn't realize.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
What a weirdo he was, and so we were actually
on the date.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
I can't wait, shut up for a second.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Grant, hang on, go ahead, go ahead.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
Grant is the manager of a fancy shoe store. And
I know he likes his dog because he would talk
about it already, like before the day, but I didn't
realize how much he loved his job. And I'm not
going to tell you the name of the store because
that's I don't know, I just out of respect. Okay,
So okay, so here's the deal. You would not stop

(06:59):
talking about feet. And I know he loves his job,
but you would not stop talking about feet. And it
began when he told me that he could guess my
foot size just by looking at me. So I was like, okay, yeah.
So I tried to move the conversation into like different topics,
like about family and stuff, but he kept coming back
to feet, okay, specifically my feet. And he was talking

(07:24):
about how much he loves to fit people and measure
their feet. And then he was like, oh, I love
to look at women's cuffs when she's wearing heels.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Like I'm We're still okay with him. Where does it
get strange?

Speaker 5 (07:37):
Really, here's the thing, Like he said he wanted to
measure my.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Feet and att.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
Yeah, like while we were out eating, and he just
wouldn't let it go. And I was like trying to
be pretty cool about it, but I was like, well, okay,
he has got like a fetish and that's not my bag.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
I don't really see what the big deal is. Yeah,
you're right. I love my job and I don't understand
what's wrong with appreciating, you know, a human body, especially
a female body, and my job is feet, so like
obviously naturally I'm going to be looking at that on

(08:19):
our date.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Yeah, okay, I hear what you're saying, but you are
way over the top about it, like you have a finish,
a fetish, and measuring a foot only the tip of
the iceberg.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
I don't even want to think about what you really
want to do with feet or my feet or anybody
else's feat Like specifically, the feet are the people that
you are, like your clients, your customers.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
I didn't get an idea that you were so like
uptight on the date. You seemed very down, especially when
we were talking beforehand on the app And I feel
like the body is is it's like a temple, you know,
should be celebrated. And if you actually look at the
history of like women's feet in women's shoes and dig
into that and how they've changed over time over history,

(09:10):
it's incredible. And I think the fact is that maybe
if you weren't so embarrassed of your feet, you would
own it, and I just I would. I obviously you
had a different idea of how the date went than
I did. I'm willing to let it all go and
start over. You could just send me a picture of
your feet. You don't. I don't even have to measure them.

(09:30):
I did not know.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
I did not see that coming.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Grand that's your outside voice, Grant, did you hang out?

Speaker 4 (09:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Wow, she's gone.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
You guys, I'm gonna hang No, she legit, she's gone.
He asked her for pictures of her feet.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Grant, go ahead, Hey man.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
You do you no judgment here?

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Yeah, that's just that's not your lady.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
It's not everybody's bag.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Some people love this, Honestly, I you know if you
want to send me a picture of your feet, office
stands for usual.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
Well, I understand, Corey's feet are very unique. They're very
popular online. Listen, grant you're okay, just that that's not
your lady. We're gonna put you on hold for a sec. Okay, Bud,
hang on, Sorry, we couldn't make it happen. Don't move
all right?

Speaker 3 (10:24):
I mean you do you? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (10:27):
My grandma used to say, takes all kinds, you know.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
