(00:21):
you so much for being part ofthe next country start Freedom Fest with McDaniel
Attomotive. That was a lot offun. Though semifinals weren't they It was
a lot of fun. And youknow, I've never been on the other
side of the judging table before.Yeah, That's how I got my start,
was doing singing competitions and stuff, and the judging thing. That's hard

(00:42):
stuff. But I think we founda really good artist to go before me,
absolutely, and we've got we've gotsome others that are going to be
there too, and yes, thatfinal round will be right before Jess Kelly
Adams does her show on Thursday nightat Freedom at Ohio and get your tickets
at Freedom Fest Ohio dot com.Camping tickets, information, VIP experiences,

(01:07):
meet and greets, all that kindof stuff. And I know, Jess,
you and I've been talking about areal exclusive meet and greet that we're
going to give the details on thatcoming up real soon for a chance to
spend some time with Jess Kelly Adamsand actually see her brand new video where
Dean Sam's has been teaming up.Dean. How you doing, man,
Man, I'm doing awesome. AndI want to say, I said off

(01:29):
the air, kudos to you forgetting behind Jess. I mean, obviously
she's she's newer to some people, but she's been working at this for a
very long time. I can't Ican't say enough great things about her talent
and her drive and work ethic andall that, and so for you to
get behind her like you are,I think it's awesome. And I'm doing
the same producing some killer, killersongs on her. We've done three,

(01:55):
We've got three totally mixed and readyto go, and we just tracked yesterday.
Three more that will be you know, done and probably a month.
And man, I'm just telling you, this girl's the real deal and I'm
so excited to be working with her. I'll tell you, Dean. I'm
I'm excited that you are working.I know she's excited too, Dean.
Sam's obviously all that time with withLone Star and everything that you did.

(02:16):
I mean, and you've been herein Marion, so you're you're familiar with
our area. You guys played thePopcorn Festival a few years ago. But
I gotta tell you, you knowyou saw something in her at a show.
Tell us a little bit about thatstory on how you decided that this
is somebody I need to work with. Talk about that. Well, it

(02:37):
started out a show she was openenough for us, and we had to
do earlier in the day. Wedid a live remote. I went and
did the live remote to promote theshow, and they were on site and
when I was standing there, shecame up and she had her mom and
her grandmother with her and introduced herselfand she was going to be opening and

(03:02):
everything, and she was just sopro and and just confident but not overbearing,
which is cool, and she justwas saying, you know, I
started asking questions and was just shejust had that drive and determination. And
we started kind of kicking around theidea of working together, and I said,

(03:23):
well, you know, here's myinfo. You reach out to me
at what you know at some pointin time. And so many times when
I offer that up, which Idon't offer it up often, but when
I do, people don't follow throughwith it. Either they don't think I'm
serious or they want me to reachout to them. And she was very
proactive, and man, once wegot together, a lot of great things

(03:44):
have happened. But I got thechance at that particular day to stand on
the side and watch her do herthing, and man, she just puts
it all out there. The crowdgets up on their feet or energetic,
and she does it with great skillwith her voice, on top of being
a great entertainer and people someone thatpeople can relate to. So you had
all of those things up. AndI think it's it's a real honor for

(04:08):
me to get to work with her. Oh, I think that's awesome.
And I know I just I knowJess well enough to know that she is
sitting right there next to you witha gigantic smile on her faith. Aren't
you you are? Aren't you?I know that you once or twice together,
once or twice we been together, and I know that smile very well.

(04:28):
But but Jess, talk a littlebit about Homemade and working with with
Dean and the collaboration that you guyshave in putting it together. Talk about
the song because it's coming out realsoon. Yeah. Well, you know,
I grew up listening to Lone Star. I was going through old home
videos and I found one of meat fifteen years old, singing amazed in

(04:51):
my living room, just pretending Iwas in the band. Yeah, and
even just talking about it now bringstears in my eyes because I just I'm
having a hard time realizing that thisis all real, being able to work
with Dean in the studio and gettingto know him and um, and then
we write a song like Homemade. It is my story. It's about going

(05:15):
through struggles in life. But whenyou look back at all that you've gone
through, it's made me who Iam. And um, that's something that
nobody can take away from you.I'm proud to be from Ohio. I'm
proud to be in Adams and Deanand Lauren Massetti, my co writers on
this song. They really listen tomy story and shared their own and we

(05:39):
came up with something really cool thatI think is really really cool. It
is gonna be fun. It's gonnabe out very very soon. And i'll
tell you what. We're right onthe cusp of Freedom Fest Ohio, obviously
opening up for Parmelee and Craig Morganand everything we're gonna be have going on
that weekend. Talk for a minute, Jess about Freedom Fast. I know,

(06:00):
not only are you going to dothat show on Thursday, you're also
going to do a couple of exclusivecamper parties for folks that are camping out
during that weekend. But you've reallyembraced freedom Fest and Finlay's Entertainment because and
I don't want to speak out ofterm, but they're kind of who you
are too, right. I mean, it's all together because it's just good
people trying to do a good thingfor a great community. Talk about that

(06:24):
for a minute. Yeah. Well, Steve Finley, the founder of Freedom
Fest, the first time I methim through you, he was just down
home and real and I could seejust in his body language that he was
willing to help out anybody that's inneed of help anywhere he can. He

(06:45):
wants to be there and so andthen when he was telling why he started
freedom Fest, you know, it'sto celebrate our active military, our veterans,
our first responders, and that issomething I will always get behind.
And you know, I always wantto surround myself with people who just want
to give back, who just wantto do good in this world. And

(07:08):
you know that's what I want todo. So come together and I think
we can accomplish that. I'll tellyou one of the things that I see
in you, and I also seein Steve Finlay and his wife and his
team is the big picture. Theylook at everything and you look at everything
as this is possible, and thenit's boots on the ground, working hard,

(07:29):
doing what you need to do toaccomplish that goal. And boy,
if you can't get behind that,Dean, I'm sure you can chime in
about that because you're working with thatevery day with Jeff, aren't you.
Absolutely? And you know, havingdreams and goals and having people to help
you achieve those as amazing. Ilove what Freedom Fest is all about.
I mean, you know, whenyou're talking about military, and it's not

(07:50):
just the people that serve, it'stheir families who are who really sacrifice a
lot for their loved ones to servethis country. And of course all the
first responders. You know, everynight in our show we dedicate I'm already
there to all the military, theirfamilies and of course first responders. So
to know this fest is going on, You're gonna have some killer entertainment with

(08:11):
Craig Morgan, who I've been friendswith for a long long time. Carmela's
awesome. We did a couple ofshows with them last year. And of
course my girl here, Jess, she is awesome. So it's gonna be
one heck of a night of entertainmentall for you know, helping out some
really really deserving people, so loveto I'd love to be a part of
it too. I know Jess isgoing to be doing some things, so

(08:33):
maybe I could get some like loneStar merchandise, and maybe our new record
that comes out June second, it'scalled ten to one. Maybe I sign
a few of those, get therest of the guys in the band to
sign a few and some other littlemerchandise, and we can do some kind
of giveaway for people that get behindJess and are part of the Freedom Fest.
Maybe we can do something like that. Oh, I think I think

(08:54):
we can do that with when youtalk about the exclusive Camper parties. We're
gonna have day night, Friday night, Saturday night, Jess hanging out through
the weekend with Brett Michaels and JustinMoore and Chris and Jansen and We the
Kingdom and all the other bands thatare gonna be playing. We can definitely
reach some people with that merchandise. So thank you so much for that,
Dean. It's gonna be a greatweekend. We're really looking forward to it,

(09:18):
