Music Festival is Jessica Moon. Jessica, how are you this morning? I'm
wonderful. Paul, how are you? I am great? Thanks so much
for calling in to talk about winStock. We have so much fune with
the Winstock. It is coming upJune thirtieth, in July first, and
we are so excited. I knowyou've done it since day one, haven't
(00:20):
you. Yes, we were talkingabout this and this is actually the ninth
one. I think it's the tenthyear since we've started it. But of
course COVID screwed everything up. We'rehaving a wonderful time and yeah, getting
ready, getting excited. It's gonnabe fun. June thirtieth, in July
first. Ten dollars mission at anytime. So if you show up Friday,
you pay ten bucks, you're gonnaget a wrist band for the weekend.
(00:41):
You show up Saturday, you payten bucks, you're there for Saturday.
So make sure that you get thereearly and enjoy it because the bands
are unbelievable again this year. It'sgonna be fun, right right, and
well we're pretty good at luring themin on Friday. They think they're just
going to be there for a minuteor so, and then would say,
well, you mid want to justsay that just in case, because you'll
probably be back. And I workthe ticket gate, so I have seen
(01:03):
people come back that didn't think thatthey were going to. So that's a
wonderful time. That is important. And what's cool about Friday is number one,
Big Red Deluxe, unbelievable. They'reat eight forty five. And then
the fireworks that happen over at thehigh School, the city fireworks, those
kickoff right after Big Red Deluxe. And you've got a great seat for the
fireworks on Friday, why not comeFriday right? Oh my gosh. It
(01:26):
is just a beautiful piece of Americana. It is music at rock music,
fireworks at everybody camping, everybody justsitting sitting rouse families. It's it's just
exactly what you think of an Americansummer should look like. So it's going
to be fun. The y Storeis the featured band on Saturday. I'm
looking forward to them. Have notheard of them, but I hear they
(01:48):
are absolutely fantastic. Strong Buckhill,Last Minute, almost Chili Peppers. If
you like the Red Hot Chili Peppersare going to attribute to the Chili Peppers
earlier in the afternoon. There's somebodythat's over for them from the Popcorn Festival.
Correct, Yeah, absolutely, absolutely, Yeah, they're gonna be playing
there too. They're out of Clevelandand they haven't been around too long.
(02:10):
But all of the guys in theband have played in other tribute bands for
like decades, so I'm real excitedto see them. I've seen some yeah,
I've seen some video and I'm reallyexcited. So you were telling me
that one of the things that youguys are part of, and I love
this. On Saturday, July first, from two to four, Roth Bacon,
Moon Attorneys and Waggler Badenhop will bepart of the children's activities. It's
(02:35):
arts and crafts and you guys dothis T shirt deal. So tell everybody
how it works and why it's somuch fun for the kids to do it.
Yeah, No, it's really awesome. The Ohio Arts Council has helpful
with this in the past. Isa and I believe Timmels has has created
all the T shirts for us.But the kids come up and they get
out of the hot baking sun.Hopefully yeah, and get paid, and
(03:00):
the t shirts are preformed. They'vegot the Winstock logo on it, and
the kids can then go wild. It's a completely black and white shirt,
but then they can paint it upand marker it however they want and it
is just really cute. Some ofthem get really creative with it, and
it's just it's an activity that thekids can get involved with. The families
(03:21):
love it because they're enjoying the musicif they want to be able to walk
around a little bit. And we'vegot all the kids there together, all
in one place, beating off eachother's energy and getting it out of their
system and having a great time withit. So and my daughter still wears
hers around the house all the time. So oh so cool. Well she'll
get another one next choking, anotherone this year then, won't you?
Absolutely yes, And you know he'sgetting bigger. It's time there you go,
(03:45):
right absolutely. So what's cool aboutit is there are a ton of
sponsors that sponsor every location, everypart of it. So you can go
to winstock dot com and you canhear just basically get an idea of how
it goes. Lots of examples ofhow the show is tons of pictures.
All the details are up there.Don't forget about the sponsors. Knew this
(04:05):
year you guys are doing a duckdrop. How cool is that? Yeah,
community connections, It's just another colorfulevent that we can add that will
pique everybody's interest, young and old. Everybody wants to watch the duck's jobs.
So we're wonderful. We're very excitedto have done as a sponsor.
And I like, you know,we have a wonderful band lineup and they're
(04:29):
all fabulous and everybody's got their ownflavor. But it's also nice to have
something else visual that's going on too, and so I think this is really
going to bring an extra zest tothe event, something else going on that
we've got organized activities. It's almostgetting carnival like with all of the activities
that are going on, which isit's really fun to see what this has
become. You know, we startedout with one night ten years ago,
(04:56):
a couple of lineups, and thatwas just WHOA, what's going on?
And it was it was a newevent, and now it's really starting to
find its place and it's really Ireally hope it continues, and it's just
it's getting bigger and bigger each year. So well, well, yeah,
the camping is huge, and youneed to get the camping asap by going
to a winstock dot com booked.Yeah, I think there's only a couple
(05:20):
of spots left for the recreational vehicles. Primitive camping is always you can always
cran in there, but if you'regoing to bring your the real deal,
you've got to make sure you geta spot. I think they're running out
planning of grass. Could throw atent up, but as far as bringing
in your camper, you're going toneed to do that. But you know,
this is really cool because the WineDot County Young Professionals put this on
(05:42):
and Jesse, I know you've beenpart of it um for a long long
time. Talk about where the moneyfrom winstock goes. It's one hundred percent
volunteer done. You guys volunteer yourtime to help the community. Talk about
where that money goes. Absolutely souh and and really the powerhouse at the
Young Professionals, the ability to donateis basically all driven by one Winstock.
(06:05):
It has just been such a massivesuccess. We've been very blessed with it.
But we fund scholarships that anybody whois a student in and around Wine
Dot County. You don't necessarily haveto live in the district, but you
have to go to school in thedistrict. And we've been handing out scholarships
every year representative at the ceremonies tosee those kids who We even added a
(06:30):
scholarship to option for the technical schoolsthis year. We've Otherwise, we do
one offs whenever other area groups approachus and say, hey, you know,
we really need help with this.We would like a splash pad in
the park. Can you donate tothis? Well? Sure. We've also
donated to the murals downtown, theproject that's going on in Upper Sandusky,
(06:56):
and we've also donated There's a coupleof other items in the branding project that
we've done before the win. It'sjust, you know, I have to
go back through the history of thethings, and it's usually I don't want
to give away too much. Butwhen people approach the group and you've got
everybody there just so happy that we'vebeen blessed with this, we're like,
(07:18):
yeah, get let them have it. Let's let's invest there, let's do
this, let's do that. Andso we're always looking for opportunities to to
show off that this is what thecommunity have provided us with. Let's let's
push it back out there. It'sjust a lot of fun to be a
part of it. Well, andlike you said, not to mention,
it's a heck of a lot offun for days, we have a lot
(07:40):
of fun. Yeah, it's good. We have we have volunteers that are
reaching out, hey, we wantto work that. We want to work
the bar the evening, can wedo that? And then they arrive with
like a pack of friends and everybody'shaving a good time. So it's it's
not really nice to be a partof that event. Well, you want
to be part of it two Junethirtieth July first at the wine Dot County
(08:01):
Fairgrounds. It is Winstock the WineDot County Music Festival. Ten dollars will
get you in the door for theentire weekend. Depending on when you show
up, you're going to get moremusic. If you show up Friday afternoon,
you're gonna get two days of music. If you show up Saturday night,
that ten dollars is going to getyou an amazing evening. But regardless,
it is well worth your time, your money, your effort, the
(08:22):
food, the craft beers, thewines and wine slushies. We can go
on and on. It is aremarkable time. The slag that you can
walk away with. But my sisteralways jokes, you know that Winstock has
been closing the men of win DotCounty for the past ten years now.
Anywhere you go to an event,a social event, you will undoubtedly see
(08:45):
at least one man in a WinstockT shirt of any year, depending on
you know, his skin, tongue, which color works best for him.
Sure he'll pick that year and he'llgo with it. But it's awesome and
sometimes a lot of times you willsee two men in the same year in
the same shirt. So it's justit's fun. Get your shirt, get
(09:05):
your color for the year, andshow that you've been there. Come hang
out with us. Details at yanstockdot com. It is going to be
a heck of a lot of fun.
