Speaker 1 (00:00):
And good morning to you. I know you got lots
of choices, so thanks so much for choicing, for choosing
to be with us this morning. We appreciate it greatly.
And the Big three New York Comptroller and candidate for mayor,
Brad Lander is arrested for impeding Ice officers from arresting
an illegal immigrant, and Governor Hulkell had to rush down
(00:22):
to get in front of the cameras because she heard, oh,
media attention, I want to be there.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
I knew I needed to come down here immediately and
check gun is whereabouts and do what I could to.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Intervene uh Brad Lander, following the other politicians who engage
in political performative chaos just to get headlines. Lander, of course,
is far behind the two front runners and the Democratic
primary for mayor, a race that has resulted in a
big jump in early voting. Now and it's fifth day.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
We've doubled the numbers since the first time around with
early voting. Right about this time, we're at about ninety
five thousand voters have actually come out to the polls.
The mail ins haven't been counted yet, and I think
a lot of it has to do with the excitement
behind this campaign, you have former Governor Cuomo against an
upstar like assemble minimum Donnie, who has just saturated our
(01:14):
TV space and our social media space.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
After the assassination of a politician in Minnesota and the
attempted assassination of another politician, there are renewed calls to
tamp down the political rhetoric.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
I'd just be real careful about the President of the
United States has been shot at twice in the last year.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
By egged on by the most unbelievable rhetoric.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Calling him a fascist, calling him a threat to democracy,
calling for him to be taken out.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
So I think let's just we could work together. It
turn down the temperature and Israel and it Ron just
keeps shooting missiles at each other. And if you haven't heard,
this morning, we moved a second aircraft strikeforce into the
area and a third destroyers, so it sounds like, at
least it looks like we're gonna get involved. Reporters in
(02:06):
Israel are suddenly war correspondents.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
You can hear behind me there are sirens sounding as
ballistic missiles are fired at this city. Air defense systems
are currently active over Tel Aviv, with hundreds of thousands
of people into bombshelters at this moment, unhooked, get off.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
All right, we got it, We're gonna move okay. Now,
by the way, if you want to leave us a talkback,
go to the iHeartRadio app and you can leave us
a talk back and you can be in the running
for a MENTI in the Morning T shirt. But first
let's get the Vicki Palladino, New York City Council member
represents District nineteen of Northeast Queens. VICKI, I know you're
(02:48):
gonna have a lot to say. Let me just say
two words.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
Brad Lander, an idiot, Good morning money.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
What did you think?
Speaker 7 (03:05):
What did you say?
Speaker 8 (03:08):
Well, you know, look, the first the first of course,
knee jerk reaction is that it's a political stunt. As
you said, you know, this is a political theater, uh,
you know, bread. But the more serious aspect of this
whole thing is that he obstructed Ice and these people
think that they could just go ahead and do what
(03:30):
they're doing, whether you're here, or you're in Jersey or
wherever you are California, they just think they could just
step in. You know, he locked arms with this guy.
He refused to allow Ice to make the arrests. Who
the hell are you bread? Okay? And he wanted to
see a warrant, Well, Ice was under no obligation, folks,
to show anybody a warrant. And no warrant is even
(03:54):
necessary for those that don't understand, because I didn't either
until everything was explained to me yesterday today. You know,
no warrant is even necessary to remove someone who's here illegally. None.
And if you're here illegally, you're subject for removal. It's
as simple as that. It's an administrative process, not a
judicial one.
Speaker 9 (04:13):
You know.
Speaker 8 (04:14):
So when we get this going and we understand, let's
let's let me make something else very clear that you know,
if Ice had access, wrap your head around this, if
I actually had X access to our courts and our
jails in all these blue cities, these sanctuary cities, none
(04:35):
of none of this would be happening, okay, because the criminals,
you know, they would be processed but there and and
and removed. But what these people are trying to do,
is what they did several years back, is to just
cause absolute chaos. And the idea that that woman upstate
(04:56):
Hopal decided to put on a Superwoman Cape down here yesterday.
I mean, picture all of this. I mean we're watching
it play out in real time. And she thinks he's
gonna say, Brad Landern, you know, beat up Trump this
whole thing. I get it. Yeah, hey Trump, Okay, but
you know what Trump won. He ran on this. He's
(05:19):
extremely popular on the fact that people do not want
those that are here illegally. You know, we had a
record number of people. Do you remember when Christy Noman
came out and they were offered they were offering people
one thousand dollars and free airfare to wherever they wanted
to go to re enter this country legally. That's actually working,
(05:45):
that's actually working. So they had so many people in California,
these are illegals. Leave take our government up on this
ability to do this and reenter legally. Nobody will bother you.
These people are here illegally and this cannot be you know.
(06:05):
And then we had the No King's protests. All right,
what did you see at these No Kings protests? A
bunch of seventy year old, eighty year old, fifty five
year old white women, okay and men.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
That's true, that's true. The average was almost deceased. You're
absolutely right.
Speaker 8 (06:25):
I mean, it's really pathetic all because you don't like this?
What about this? Don't they like?
Speaker 7 (06:32):
Now?
Speaker 8 (06:32):
I'm going to tell you I had friends that really
surprised me. And the only way I knew they went
was because I saw it on Facebook. So I can't
wait to get them into my office and ask them,
why did you go like this No King's protest down
in Manhattan. I wanted to understand. I want you. I
want to see if you understand exactly what you're protesting about,
(06:56):
you know, because it was a peaceful protest. It's a
perfect group of lefto a hip beast and uh, you know,
I just want to know if they know. But we've
got to get double backs bred Landa.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
We got hold on one second. I want I want
to comment on something you just said, because it's really important.
They they did interview the media did try to interview
people in the No Kings protest, and they were asking
them why are you here? And they couldn't answer. They
couldn't answer. There were simple questions that they couldn't answer.
They're just there, first of all, because there's a protest
(07:28):
and they just want to be involved in it. Because
they want to live out their old days, but also
because they hate Donald Trump. That's the only reason they're there.
That they they don't know what the issues are. They
just don't like Trump. So if he's for it, there.
Speaker 6 (07:42):
Against it, that's right.
Speaker 8 (07:44):
And this is what this is all about. The ignorance
is just horrible. I mean, you have your usual that
refola vote. Well, what's say that one star's name, he's
always there. He lives in Manhattan, Mark Rufo. Yeah, they
go and and and Susan Sarandon, she was out to
the Louis Drive. These are all your usual players. I mean,
(08:07):
we're sick and tired of it. Actually it doesn't even
really so long as they're not burning down uh cars
or lighting stores on fire or burning off flags. I
really don't care, you know, because you're a joke. You're
an absolute joke. But this, this has got to stop.
What Brad Lander and other elected officials are doing in
(08:31):
this city needs to stop, because this is what Ice
is doing is not going to stop. All right, they're
here illegally, okay, this guy that they were deporting. Look,
Biden brought in Math and math amnesty program where he
granted the you know, the blanket status uh to millions
(08:53):
of people under an executive order. Well guess what. Trump
revoked that executive order. So you know you're here illegally.
You have an opportunity to leave, come back the right way.
You know, you got to face the consequences. This is
what it's about.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
I tell you about Brad Landery. It's so obvious that
he just wandered his ten seconds of fame because if
you listened, if you watch that video, the ice officers
constantly were saying, sir, beckoff, sir please, can you time yeah,
over and over.
Speaker 8 (09:26):
Again, over and over again, and it was said to
him ten times. But he had to get in, like
you said, is fifteen minutes of fame. And then my
city council of course needed to come out, you know,
and make their asinine statements. The governor flew down, Come on,
(09:48):
knock it off already. We're all really sick and tired
of this, and this mayor's race is troublesome. We know that.
I think with all the negative stuff that finally came out,
remember my tweet up with Zoe ran all right about
deport I finally you know, I knew we couldn't deport
(10:10):
him because he's a citizen now, but just that one
word said, everybody's head off fire. I know, campaign calling
me now, campaign's calling me. And how do you know,
I say, start to bring out who this guy is.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Yes, and that's happening. By the way, the New York
Times did a good piece as well, so we got
to get going, VICKI, thanks so much. Vicky Palladino, New
York City Council represents District nineteen of Northeast Queens. Thanks again.
What are the world's best airlines? We have a list
coming up and also tickets to see the Counting Crows
stay with us. Thanks so much for your talk Facts.
You've been absolutely great today, Larry.
Speaker 10 (10:47):
I agree one hundred percent. Get in there, knock those
terrorists out. They hate the United States of America, they
hate freedom, and that's all they care about is to
destroy They're horrible, horrible human beings. This should have been
done a long time ago, but I'm going to bring
it up to you. It's all because Joe Biden gave
(11:08):
them billions of dollars at shrump pros and he let
them come back in to the nuclear thing.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
That's the reason, right, and President Obama remember the Palett's
full of cash. That was Obama and then Biden. Of
course Donald Trump put an end to that. Then Donald
and then Joe Biden brought it back. Absolutely, we would
not be in this position if it wasn't for them.
But remember it's not just us. The world, the world
(11:36):
and the Arab world is all for this too. Everybody
is going to applaud.
Speaker 11 (11:41):
This to prevent another padea Landers and these Democrat politicians
from impeding Ice, impeeding. The Trump agenda impeding the American people.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Is to lock them up.
Speaker 12 (11:57):
Stop dropping the charges on these people.
Speaker 11 (12:02):
When you charge them and lock them up, then you
won't see any more of these Democrats impeding.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Maybe you know it's worth trying, because obviously what we're
doing right now is not working. And maybe that's going
to happen to a congresswoman macguy. Remember she's going to
be charged, she might get locked up. But I have
a feeling it's going to make them even more of
a martyr because for some reason, it's so sick on
the Democratic side that going to jail because of Donald Trump,
which is what they're going to say, because of Donald
(12:31):
Trump's policies, might make them even more popular. And then
Jacqueline Carl did a story about petting and alligator and
that got our last talkback.
Speaker 12 (12:41):
So Jacqueline has something against people penning alligators. I'm sure
she doesn't have a problem with people penning dogs. Come on, Jacqueline,
what's wrong? Alligators need love to that's right.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
You know what, when you're right, you're right. Gets me
some toothy gators and I'll just love on them.
Speaker 13 (13:01):
I'll get fine, don't go to jail. I don't care.
They need love.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
I'd love to see I don't think I don't think
that's a good idea. I do not think that's a
good idea. Let's get to the top ten airlines. Either
are the top ten airlines in the world. So what
do you think was the top American airline?
Speaker 12 (13:22):
What?
Speaker 1 (13:22):
What airline do you guys like?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
None of them?
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Well, apparently this list doesn't either.
Speaker 14 (13:29):
I was gonna say, I mean, I actually do like
Jet Blue a lot. I fly Jet Blue as often
as I can. I've never had a problem with them.
I really really enjoy their flights.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
But I don't see Blue.
Speaker 14 (13:42):
It's not like Qatar or something where they're right, that's
number one.
Speaker 13 (13:46):
Making ice cream Sundays when they come down the aisle.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
And by the way, is it qatar or cutter cutter?
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I know, I think it is, but a lot of
people say qatar. I think the president says guitar. A
lot of people say guitar. But when you listen to
them and when you're go to pronunciation, guys, they're all
saying cutters.
Speaker 13 (14:05):
Well, is that on the list?
Speaker 1 (14:07):
That's number one? Oh, there you go, number one.
Speaker 13 (14:09):
Never been on it. But the commercials look amazing, and.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Well they got a lot of money. Singapore Airlines and
Cafe Pacific Airlines. I don't even know any of these.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
We're not fancy enough to know the good ones exactly.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Delta, by the way, is the number one American one,
and it's twenty second on the list. That's how bad
the American airlines. Apparently? Are Air Canada top that they
were higher, but they didn't make the top ten either.
Nothing in North America made the top ten. I'll go
(14:43):
through the top ten real quickly. Guitar Cutter, Singapore, Cafe Emirates,
ana El Dupon, Turkey, Korean Air, France, Japan, oh Man,
I don't even know what hanahias.
Speaker 13 (14:59):
When Canada and turkeyer above us. That's good for us.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
We just suck now the alligator lover Jacqueline Carl with
the eight to thirty News Jacquelin Larry.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
New York City controller and mayor ol candidate Brad Lander
won't face charges after he was arrested at an immigration courthouse.
Lander was taken into custody Tuesday as he tried to
accompany a person out of the courtroom. That person was
also taken into custody. Lander was released later in the day,
with Governor Kathy Hockels saying any charges against Lander had
been dropped. It's a third time Lander has gone to
(15:33):
federal immigration court to escort immigrants, but the first time
he was detained by ICE agents. And New York based
Jet Blue Airways, I hate to say this to you,
Natalie is cutting back the number of flights from JFK
and other airports.
Speaker 9 (15:47):
Jet Blue CEO Joanna Garrity is pointing to softer than
expected travel demand is the reason for cutting some off
peak flights and unprofitable routes. She told staff members and
a membo that even with a recovery, though, won't fully
offset the ground lost this year, and the path back
to profitability will take longer than hoped. Department of Labor
stats show air travel in May was down more than
(16:07):
seven percent compared to May of last year. I'm Scottpringle
wr News.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
All right, this is an age old debate, so be
ready to weigh in whether toilet papers should roll under
or over. It's finally been settled by scientists two hundred
and fifty years after TP was invented. But before I
give you the answer, are you an over or an under?
Speaker 13 (16:27):
Over?
Speaker 14 (16:28):
And I believe it's under from what I kind of
think I've read in the past.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Larry Well, I'm gonna go under because she went over.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
All right, the answer is the Daily Mail reports. Primrose Freestone,
a professor of a professor of clinical microbiology at University
in the UK, says the somewhat counterintuitive under position is
more hygienic and effective, despite the original eighteen hundred's patent
(16:58):
showing the role in the morning now natural seeming over orientation.
Freestone says for the under position, there is less likely
to be whole roll contamination because handling the toilet roll
from the over position requires a user to employ two
hands to extract a square The undermeth that allows bathroom
users to pin the sheets against the toilet wall and
(17:20):
tear them off there having to touch the exterior of
the role. I still think people used to hands for this,
decreasing the odds of transferring hand bacteria to the toilet tissue.
So it's definitely under.
Speaker 13 (17:32):
It's a debate though.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
That was a lot of words for just a role toilet.
Speaker 13 (17:37):
Well you didn't tell us, Jacqueline over and under in
your your bathrooms.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
I'm an over.
Speaker 14 (17:41):
SA, i'mon over too, and I'm glad to see that
was the original patent.
Speaker 13 (17:46):
No, it was right, yeah, over Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Everybody felt it was over and then some Now we're
finding out under maybe more hygienic.
Speaker 13 (17:53):
All right, Larry, maybe I'll start switching and see how
I feel about that.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
I just got it.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
It just gets too like you could like grab it
and like everything flies off. So it's just I feel
like under is more precarious. This is something Larry has
never thought about.
Speaker 13 (18:10):
It is entirely because his wife does. I was gonna say,
have you ever changed the roll of toilet paper in
your house?
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Course of course, when I absolutely have to.
Speaker 13 (18:17):
Wait, it's you have to do it and have you
ever thought about it when you put it on? Am
I putting it on over or under?
Speaker 7 (18:25):
Nope?
Speaker 13 (18:25):
See he doesn't think about it.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
No, guys, I've never had to use two hands as
was apparently with something that happens when I take a
roll of toilet paper. Congratulations to Virginia Massom from Cape
Cope Age, New York, who just won a pair of
tickets to see The Counting Crows at Northwell Health at
Jones Beach Theater. Congratulations Virginia. This is on June twenty ninth.
(18:47):
Tickets on sale at ticketmaster dot com. Another chance to
win tomorrow morning it's seven twenty five, and then again
at a twenty five. Well, the lawyers and the p
Didy trial, they they both got reprimanded. Both sides got
reprimanded by the judge as the defense is getting very
close to resting right now. ABC's Peter Haralambu's has all
(19:11):
the details. Next and you want to add to the conversation,
just go ahead and leave us a talkback. Go to
seven to ten WOR on the iHeartRadio app, click the
microphone and when you're there, put sevent ten WOOR on
your presets. Plus you could win a limited edition Minte
in the Morning T shirt, which will be awarded every
day to our favorite talkback of the morning. Can you
(19:34):
believe it is day thirty today of the Sean Diddycombs trial,
and it's just been amazing. I'm surprised the jury has
been able to stay with everything, but I heard that
yesterday might have been a little bit of a dull day.
Peter Haralambus can fill us in. He is the ABC
News investigative reporter. He's been covering the trial. So the
(19:59):
prosecution is wrapping up, right, and so what what was
what happened yesterday?
Speaker 7 (20:06):
Yeah, at this point, the prosecution's expected to rest either
this afternoon or on Friday, so they're basically tying up
loose ends. They're calling these so called summary witnesses to
bring in additional evidence that the jury didn't get to
see during other witnesses, and that can be kind of
dull process. It means through kind of sitting through business
record after text, message after video over and over again.
(20:27):
And that's basically what they did for the entire day yesterday.
And it was a bit cringe worthy at times for
this jury because they had to watch at length these
videos of these alleged freak offs or hotel nights these
days long sex parties. Prosecutors say the videos are basically
the most direct evidence that cours that show Comb's course
women into sex and then use the videos as blackmail
(20:50):
to ensure their silence. So they basically had to sit
in their seats and put on these headphones, and they
were the only ones who had to see these videos
because they were under seal, So basically the only thing
you could see was their facial expressions, and they did
not look comfortable. A minute after a minute of watching
these these graphic videos.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
I heard a report that like just after a couple
of minutes, one of the jurors took the headphones off.
Is that correct?
Speaker 7 (21:16):
Yeah, I mean there were a few jurors in particular
that didn't seem to be didn't seem to be enjoying
it or at least tolerating it. They also had to
pause this entire process about five minutes in because they
realized the audio from these sex clips was leaking into
the gallery. Basically, someone had their headphone a little too
close to the mic. You couldn't make out any noise,
(21:37):
but it kind of sounded like the voice from Charlie
Brown and the parents, like basically like a high pitched
noise and no other context. It was certainly not graphic
or explicit for this for the publicy.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
And there was some tediousness during the during the testimony yesterday,
and I heard reports that it seemed like a couple
of the jurors were nodding off. Is that right?
Speaker 7 (22:01):
Yeah, I mean there were members of the gallery that
we're not off too. This was not particularly engaging day
of testimony, basically asking why has called a few of
these so called summary witnesses. These are people who are
as paralegals or special agents who have worked on the
case but have lacked basically direct knowledge of the event.
So basically they're called to the stand and they're basically
(22:21):
reading into the record a bunch of exhibits testimony not testimony,
excuse me, text messages or credit card statements or hotel invoices,
et cetera. So it's really dry, and it kind of
goes to the challenge of bringing these kinds of weeks
long cases, and that you know, when you look back
at the evidence here, we're looking at this point thirty
(22:42):
four different witnesses who are going to be who are
going to have taken the stands when the government rests
the information the evidence. None of it has come in
in chronological order, has come in piece by piece, it's
come in out of order. It hasn't necessarily come in
with the uniform serial events. Some juris have offered slightly
different accounts of the same and if you're a juror,
it's overwhelming. I struggled to see how they can see
(23:04):
a piece of evidence from yesterday and clearly linked that
to a piece of testimony from someone like Cassie Ventura
who testified more than a month ago.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
And explain why the attorneys, apparently from both sides, were
reprimanded by the judge.
Speaker 7 (23:20):
Yeah, so this is kind of a mystery at this point.
The judge, this was the most serious we saw him,
were the most irate we saw him since the start
of this trial. Basically, there was some kind of information
that leaked to the media. It was published in an article.
It didn't especify which one, and the judge came to
the conclusion that the only person who had this information
who could have leaked it was one of the members
of the defensive prosecution teams. So at one point when
(23:42):
both sides pleaded ignorance, he basically told them directly, one
of you were lying here, and basically vowed to hold
them accountable, either sanctions, whether they be criminal or civil,
holding them this contempt, or even investigating them and forcing
them to testify about this. He was really not holding back,
really wants to figure out who was behind this, and
he's vowing to investigate it. No resolution from that just yet,
(24:03):
but we're expecting to hear some more about that today.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Peter Haralambhu's ABC News investigative reporter covering the Sean Diddycomb's
trial for ABC. Thanks again, Peter, talked to you again soon.
Speaker 6 (24:14):
Thanks Ferry Well.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Brad Lander is the story of the day. I loved
Vicki Palladino when I knew that she would just go
off because Vicki Palladino, she doesn't even need questions. We
could leave the room, she would be fine just going
on a monologue for about five minutes. But I love
today when I just because I knew she would just
go when I said Brad Lander, and she immediately just
(24:38):
said idiot, He's an idiot. That was very funny, but
it does sum up yesterday brad Lander. All he was
doing was very obvious. He was going almost every day
to that courthouse waiting, waiting to be arrested. And they
didn't go after anybody. By the way, this is really important.
(25:00):
All the people he was escorting out every single day,
Ice didn't go after one of them. So there's a
reason they go after people. They're not just taking people
willy nilly, as is being reported in the media. No,
there are specific people. There are reasons that they do
not have to give. They don't have to give it
(25:21):
to us, they don't have to give it to the media,
they don't have to give it the Bradlander. So it's
not just everybody that's coming into the courthouse or coming
out of the courthouse. It is very specific who they're after,
and there's a reason there after them, and brad Lander
should be smart enough to know that. But he finally
(25:42):
got his moment after trying and trying and trying and
trying to get arrested, he finally got his moment. And
you know how, I know specifically that he wanted to
be arrested because he had every opportunity to obey the
police ten times they said, and they were saying please please, sir,
let go, please sir stop, please, sir back off. And finally,
(26:06):
he was putting them in danger. That's what's not being reported.
He was putting the ice officers in danger. They had
to deal with him when they also had someone that
they had to take out of the country that might
fight back. They had to deal with him. He was
a distraction, a dangerous distraction. So shame on him. He
should never be mayor, He shouldn't be controller. In a
(26:27):
sane city, there would be impeachment movement right now to
get him out of that office. But this isn't a
sane city, as we see from the mayor election, political
solidarity or publicity stunt. Let's keep talking about brad Lander.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Beat on the Street with Natalie Migliori. So what did
New Yorkers think of bradlanders buffoonery trying to stop Ice
officers from doing their job. Let's get the Beat on
the Streets with Natalie Mgliori.
Speaker 8 (27:35):
Natalie, Good morning, Larry, New York City Controller and the
oral candidate. Bradlanders arrest is making headlines this morning after
he was detained by ICE fool escorting a man out
of immigration court.
Speaker 15 (27:52):
I think that's a little too much. There should be
some level of respect. You know, they're lawmakers, they are
senators working for the government, and it doesn't mean that
they're excluded from any type of crime. But if they're
showing up in a non violent way, then they should
be treated with respect.
Speaker 16 (28:10):
The ICE is just out here doing whatever they want.
It's a lawless town right now with Trump involved. So
mayor is a getting arrested, Judges are getting arrested.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
All I saw was the photo he was just being manhandled.
So now we're doing this cross country. Now it's not
just padilla out in California. Now it's people here.
Speaker 8 (28:30):
Yeah, Senator Alex Padilla was forcibly removed from a Department
of Homeland Security press conference. Earlier this month, Newark Mayor
Ros Baraka was taken into custody during a protest in
front of an ICE facility. Not too long ago, but
with Lander's mayoral run in the mixed lowry, Do people
think this was a publicity stunt.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
It could be either he's really trying to help the people. Well,
he's trying to be a phone. You don't know.
Speaker 7 (28:55):
I don't think so.
Speaker 15 (28:56):
Not to lie, that's the first thing I thought, But
then I that he's been doing it regardless. I mean,
if it helps him and his you know, endeavor to
become the mayor, then it helps kudos for him. But
only he knows.
Speaker 13 (29:09):
To the same time he gets releasing.
Speaker 15 (29:12):
I've heard three hours something like that, so you know,
everything is fishing.
Speaker 17 (29:16):
This is the third time going, first time being arrested.
I think it's political, but he's not gonna win Nate primary.
Speaker 16 (29:22):
It doesn't matter to me. I'll vote for him either way.
The president no, Brad Lander.
Speaker 8 (29:27):
Yeah. So Lander is running for New York City mayor,
and with nine candidates, several polls have shown he's really
in the middle of the pack. Just from my experience
talking to people on the street, Larry, people were far
more aware of Lander than usual. I really haven't heard
his name come up when I'm asking people about who
they're voting for, but they're still weighing their options for mayor.
Speaker 16 (29:51):
Well him and Zoron supporting each other. So I like that,
So Zoran one and Lander for two for me, and
I like Lander's policy about going against Trump and how
in affordability in the city.
Speaker 17 (30:01):
I endorse you. You endorsed me, which is crazy to me.
I never saw that before. Who wins.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
I haven't really decided who would be a good man.
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Cuomo was really really good for us during during COVID,
Taking all of that personal stuff aside, I think that
he's really effective in government, and I think he would
be great as the mayor.
Speaker 8 (30:22):
Yeah, so a lot of New Yorkers this morning really
looking for a city leader who will stand against President
Trump's Nasky portition efforts and other policies. I know I'm
trying to get both sides today, Lowry, but you know,
it's kind of stewing one way, just.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Thinking did you go to a Communist party get together
or something?
Speaker 8 (30:41):
I didn't. I went all over the city the way
I always do, and I just don't know what happened today.
Landers arrested come just days after the President directed Ice
to pick up enforcement in democratic cities, including New York.
Speaker 16 (30:56):
He has this thing against New York that he's just
trying to, you know, show people that he and stars
and it's girls.
Speaker 15 (31:01):
To me, I think it is being taken to the extreme.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
I do not understand Ice to the degree that they've
taken it.
Speaker 17 (31:07):
This whole Ice thing is crazy. It's not my fight.
I didn't vote for him. This this happened to everybody
that voted for him.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
I think what happened on his parade day is pretty
straightforward how this country feels. There's millions and millions of
people that will give up their day to show he
does not belong where he is. He's a child, impersonating
an adult.
Speaker 8 (31:31):
Well everybody in this morning, you know. I try to
get my balance, Larry, But no matter how many steps
I took, I just kept getting closer and closer to
people who agreed with each other.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Let me just take a wild guess. Were you in Manhattan?
Speaker 9 (31:47):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (31:47):
You know it, maarn I.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Figured it definitely wasn't Staten Island. Thanks so much. Natalie
and Migliaro will be back with their beat on the
street tomorrow at eight fifty. Well, I got a whole
lot still coming up early, voting in the mayor's races
on a record pace right now. Why you ask, Well,
(32:09):
we're going to find out from political analyst J. C. Polanco,
coming up after the nine o'clock news
