On the fifth episode of the Strawberryand Lazette Mexican Ginger Podcast. We talked
about walking around Jeffrey Dahmer's neighborhood, also googling people from true crime podcasts to
cuss or not to cuss spoiler alertcussing, all that and a whole lot
more coming up next. It's podcasttime. It's the Strawberry and Lizette Mexican

(00:22):
Ginger Podcast. Not suitable for ayounger audience. Love don't cost a thing?
Thing? Don't I want to driveyour bends? Let me right?
All right? Uh quick podcast timeon Instagram at Strawberry and Lazette. So
last night I finished the Dahmer Netflixseries. I know, because we don't

(00:48):
we're not even talking about that seriesanymore. The fiance and I we dove
into it kind of in the beginning. Lazette put us onto it and we
dove in and then like we didlike I think, like a three episode
binge, just like, oh that'sa lot. We need to space things
thing out, right, we needto space these episodes out two months ago
but okay, right, we spaceit out. But then we traveled for
like a week and a half whatever. So we're back, and we're like,

(01:08):
you know what, it's Halloween week, let's watch Dahmer. So we
did like an episode and night wecaught up on the last three immediately.
I mean while the credits were running, I googled, and this is no
spoiler, but I googled Oak Park. No, what's the what's the name
of the name of his apartments? The name of the apartments was Glen Oak

(01:30):
something like that. I googled itand Google auto filled, like, what's
happened? What happened to Oh Parkapartments where Jeffrey Dahmer lived, because I
wanted to see did they knock itdown? Did they build something? If
they did, what did they build? Did they finally do a memorial or
whatever? In the show, theneighbor in the show was really fighting for
them to build something in honor ofthe victims right after they knocked down the

(01:53):
building. Yeah, that was oneof the things I googled, too,
was like, did they ever putsome type of memorial up there? Right?
So I googled it and it's likeit said no. At one point
they were gonna do a park, but they decided to leave it just an
empty lot. I'm like, that'sweirds that. I went to Google Maps,
I found the address. It's ontwenty fifth Street. Oh, I
didn't do all that. I foundthe address and then I Google mapped it

(02:14):
and then I dropped the little guyon the street to do to do a
street view of it. Yeah.So I'm looking at the street where where
Jeffrey Dahmer. Uh. Now,he lived in a couple of places,
obviously, but he was arrested inthese apartments. But he did live.
There was the grandma's house. Therewas a house that he that up too.

(02:35):
I looked up the grandma's house.I looked up the house that I
guess in the show he was abandoninghis parents' house. Yeah, and then
that's when I started looking into wherehis parents were, where they alive.
Where did they live? This motherfucker'smom lived in Fresno, Like it's hell
of close. Yeah, And sothere was another place he lived before the

(03:00):
apart after his grandma, before themurder apartments. But obviously the murder apartments
was the was the main thing. So I'm standing like my little Google Map
street view guys standing on the streetin front of Jeffrey Dahmers whatever. And
it's it is an empty lot asof whenever the Google car drove by,
it was an empty lot. Itdid have grass in it, though,

(03:23):
and it had one of those likefancy fences, like a rot iron fence,
like the black like cemetery spiky fences, So it wasn't like a I
always called my cyclone chanel fence.Yeah, it wasn't a chaneling fence.
It was like a nice look lookingfence. And it was butted up next
to another apartment complex, so italmost looked like it was a park next
to an apartment complex, but itdid. It was fenced off. So

(03:46):
as of whenever the Google truck stillwell, because they don't want anybody,
everything's there. Yeah, So Ilooked up that what I looked up.
Also, I knew the story ofDocs. I knew he got murdered in
prison by by somebody who no spoilers, they're sorry, by somebody who killed
him, and some other races likelike he did a two for like bad.

(04:10):
So I did know that happened,So I looked up I think I
looked up the guy that killed him. Do you believe that the guards let
that happen in real life? Yeah? Like do they let that happen,
or did they did they? Didthey with Jeffrey Dahmer in that circumstance,
I would not be surprised, becauseeverybody in Milwauke like it was disgusting what

(04:33):
happened out there. Everybody was like, oh, f this guy. I
think I kind of it. Itmay have been like a conspiracy, or
maybe it's just some comments or somethingwhere they were like the guards definitely fucking
they planned. Sorry, I keepcussing, so I don't know if I
don't know if we're gonna coss ornot. Well you're not so trying not
to. I read like a threador something about how the guards plans that

(05:00):
and let it happen by pairing theinmate that I guess Dahmer kept having like
problems with, or they knew thatthey didn't get along, pairing him with
Dahmer and another like super racist guyto work together, which was out of
the ordinary. I guess they didn't. They had never like worked jobs together

(05:23):
before, and on top of that, leaving them alone. Yeah, So
I guess people think that the guardsplans that put them in a room together
and was like, all right,I'll be back whatever happens happens. It's
kind of deal. Yeah, yeah, so that I google like three things
immediately after. What do you google? Because I know you watched a lot

(05:44):
of true crime podcast stories and Ilistened a bunch of true crimes constantly.
I'm googling throughout while I'm watching stuffjust out of curiosity, Like all you
do it while you're watching. Yeah, oh, I've learned not to do
that. Spoilers, you get spoileralerts so heavy. Well, it wasn't
necessar serially, like because it wasa Dahmer series. Yeah, It more

(06:05):
so was curiosity of like, oh, what happened to like the boy the
victim who got away that survived,Like what's he up to now? Was
like stuff like that that I justkind of out of curiosity. Google.
The first thing I googled after theshow was what was in the sandwich?
Did they ever find out what wasin the sandwich? Oh? Yeah,

(06:27):
this is a spoiler if you haven'tseen it, but you've everybody's seen this
by now. So the sandwich thathe Dahmer's offering Ohncy Nash had roommate,
Actually I actually googled did he reallygive her a sandwich? Like that whole
scene was it? Was it real? Was it made up for the series
for a dramatic effect. So Ifound out that he really did make her

(06:49):
a sandwich. He really did gogive it to her, and in the
series the sandwich she got left onthe table like she never ate it.
What I read, oh, wasthat she didn't eat it initially in front

(07:10):
of him. Okay, she atesome of it later, and then she
says like, now looking back andfinding out what he did, she says,
I'm pretty sure I ate human remains. She was like, I'm almost
positive there was human in that turkeysandwich or whatever he said it was at

(07:30):
the time. No, in thein the show he said it's meat.
He didn't even say she said, what is it? He's like, it's
just meat in the show. Idon't know what happened in real life.
Sandwich was real. The sandwich wasreal. She was like, I can't
remember if she ate the whole thingor not, but she was like,
now that I know what he wasup to, I'm pretty sure he fed
me human like human flesh. Youknow what else? I also googled that

(07:55):
I don't recommend anyone do. Don'tjudge me. Okay, the crime scene
photos of when they went into hishouse. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
was there body parts? H Iknew that there was head. I knew

(08:16):
that there was a head in thefreezer, and there was a heart or
something like that. I knew that, just like from growing up and you
hearing, you hearing the stories,Like I knew that was there. But
I read when I was looking athis house and I read some stuff like
I read I read a list ofwhat was in his apartment and there were
a bunch of skulls, a bunchof body parts, a ton of stuff

(08:37):
in the fridge. So what didyou what did you see? I was
mainly interested in seeing comparing the apartmentin the photos to the apartment that was
in the show, And this surprisinglywas spot on. Yeah, the pictures
on the wall, the couch, the old furniture that was in the show,

(09:03):
the aquarium that was in the corner, like everything was spot on.
I was like, Wow, Ifeel like I was just here. Yeah,
it wasn't that long ago. Itwas early nineties, Like it wasn't.
I mean, yeah, but youcan't find any of that chigre anymore.
Super old. Plus imagine that apartmentwas probably from like the sixties.
Like, you don't find stuff likethat anymore. But yeah, everything was

(09:24):
spot on. There was pictures ofinside the fridge and I actually, at
first glance, I didn't even Iknew that there was a head in there
and the freezer or whatever. Butat first glance from looking at the crime
scene photos, I didn't really knowwhat I was looking at. But then

(09:46):
after like reading the description, I'mlike, Okay, I think that's the
head. I think that is youknow whatever. But I didn't really look
like it just looking at it.There was pictures of the drugs that he
had in there, that he todrug them. Oh yeah, there's photos
of that. There was photos ofthe drill. There was photos of the

(10:09):
polaroids. Oh shut up that thecops founds. And that's where I was
like, I shouldn't be looking atthis right before bed, right right,
Yeah, the polaroids were bad.Oh that sucks. And those are images
that I will never get out ofmy head. So don't I shouldn't google

(10:33):
like crimes. I mean, ifyou can handle it, stuff like that,
I just hate, and I knowwe've talked about it on a previous
podcast. I hate or not andI hate it's tough for me to watch
like security footage or bodycam footage ordash cam footage of something after I already
know the outcome, like oh,I know this person's are I know this
person's dead, and here's like thelast images of them. It's like,

(10:56):
oh man, I'm watching them likewalk across the street. I'm like,
oh no, I know what's aboutto happen in but in their world frozen
in time and it hasn't happened yet. So like with those polaroids, like
I know those people got murdered anddecapitation. The polaroids are of their bodies.
They're not alive words. Yes,oh no, I'm not watching that.
I'm not looking at that. Ithought it was remember, like I

(11:16):
just want to take some pictures ofyou. I thought it was those polaroids.
No, I mean, I'm surethey were there, But the polaroids
from the crime scene photos that Ilooked at are of bodies. Now,
if you're interested, I can gointo detail into what the polaroids were.

(11:37):
Sure, if you want to know, sure, Okay, do you really
want to know? Yeah? SoNow, obviously I don't know if we
have to put warnings or disclaimers out, but obviously I'm going to talk about
some gruesome stuff right. One ofthe photos was of I don't know who
this was. It was their head, their hands, and their penis just

(12:05):
lined up next to each other.Oh no, And it was just a
photo of that, like a headon a table, just those parts,
their hands next to them, andthen they're fucking dick next to that,
just laid out on a table. There was another photo. I couldn't tell

(12:26):
if this body had a head onit or not, but it was a
body. I don't want to describeit. Pretend you're like on your knees,
like on the floor, and youlean back and your whole body is
like in an arch, but yourknees on the ground. There's a yoga

(12:48):
pose. I forget what it's called, but yeah, I know what I'm
talking about. Yeah, so itwas the body was doing that. The
It almost looked like this is whereI get confused. It looked like either
there was no head and it wasthe body was just sitting on like its
shoulders on the grounds backwards, orit looks like the neck was broken and

(13:11):
the head was like behind its behindits back like folded over. Almost.
Yeah, so I could see thebody folded over in this weird pose,
but I couldn't tell if there wasa head or not, So that one
kind of got me because I waslike, that looks weird if there's no
head. If there is a head, like out like that looks just completely

(13:37):
unnatural, Like what like you murderedthis person and then vent them this weird
way, Like the whole thing isjust it's insane. There was another photo
This is where I stopped looking.Okay, there's another photo of I can't
remember if this body had a headon it or not. They are the

(13:58):
body is in the bathroom sit It'skind of like if you were sitting on
the edge of the bathtub but fallenover and you're kind of leaned up against
the wall, but you're you're laidout across the top of the tub,
your torso is and you're kind ofjust like you against the wall. Yeah.

(14:18):
Yeah, and the torso on thisbody was completely cut open, rib
cage broken open, and it wasjust a body of like I mean a
photo of the insides like inside thetorso. So all VS were in his
house when he got arrested. Yeah, and so how many bodies are in
his house? You have the yogabody, you have the bathtub body,

(14:41):
and then you got the dick hands. Oh sorry, these are these are
polaroids. These are polaroids, okay, And I don't know if they're the
same, if they're all from thesame body, Like, I don't know,
these could these could be progress photosfor all we know. If here's
one body, I'm gonna take apicture after I do this, and after
I do this, and after Ido this. I forgot these were pictures

(15:03):
of photos. I thought for somereason these were crime scene photos, like
when the cops came in, Butthe cops took photos of the polaroids,
and these were the polaroids shown.Yeah, i'd blank for a second.
Yeah yeah, holy crap. Soyeah, it was really bad. I
can only imagine what the other polaroidslooked like. And the website that I
saw these on also had crime scenephotos from other crimes. Oh yeah,

(15:26):
I bet from other murder suicides orjust murders or group suicides. Like it
was crazy. I'm like, it'sweird. It's weird that you can just
go online and find these things.Yeah. Well, the next thing I'm
gonna google are those two officers. The two officers who escorted the boy back

(15:48):
in and then they got suspended, but then they got like rehired and promoted,
and then the documents, not thedocumentary the Netflix show said that they
were the ones crank calling the Oasianthe Laos family. So I want to
google those officers find out what happened. Uh. And then like after I
finished Domin on Netflix, like twoother Dahmer documentaries popped up as suggested,

(16:11):
like the actual taste and the actualinterviews not re enactments. Two, I'm
like, I'm watching these next.Yeah, that's what I'll do. I'll
do so if I do a ifi'll do a show, i'll finish the
like the true crime show podcast whatever, have you seen the Watcher yet?
No? I told I told myfiance that's the next one we gotta watch.
I also googled stuff immediately after watchingthat one. I'll google that,

(16:33):
or we'll circle back. If I'mlistening to a podcast, like a true
crime product podcast, then I'll google, like, hey, what do these
people look like? Like all right, cool, that's what they look like.
Or that's the story. Oh that'sthe house, Like I'll google that.
But yeah, after watching the Dahmerthing, I gotta google those two
officers. I'm gonna google more aboutthe guy that killed him in prison,
and then I'm gonna I want towatch the two like documentary documentaries. Yeah,

(16:56):
I fell down a whole rabbit hole, just go There's so many people
involved in so many victims that Ifell down a rabbit hole just googling each
one, Like, Yeah, what'sthe family up to? Did this really
happen? Dahmer's mom is dead, but his dad was alive. I don't

(17:21):
remember. I feel like he justdied or something, or maybe he's alive.
I think he's he's alive, talkingshit right now, Like nobody asked
us, nobody got our input forthe story. I think he's kind of
talking shit about Netflix. But Ididn't know his mom died in Fresno,
which Fresno, Like we know peoplein Fresno. Yeah, how many times
do you think they crossed paths anddidn't know? Because name? Yeah?

(17:42):
And it's and it's also like didthey change now that this is so big,
It's like, do they have thesame names? Do you know that?
Did you catch that they what happenedto Dahmer's brother? Did you catch
that he's got a brother. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I go down
rabbit holes googling all of this stuff. Yeah. Yeah, it's crazy.

(18:03):
You change your name, like,I mean, you don't even wait for
the Netflix documentary to come out onceyour your brother or your family member gets
arrested for that, Like you changeyour name, You change your name before
the trial? You don't. Yeah, you don't keep that name. I
also googled when he went to college? When when? When I forget where
Ohio State when they enrolled him incollege and he was like, I was

(18:26):
like, where's is there? Yourbookphotos is there? Like? Where did
he live when he was there?I googled all that shit. And you
said that John Wayne Gacy stuff actuallydid happen like in real life, Yes,
because I googled that too. Okay, what a weird overlap. John
Gay Cerro murderer was killed the sameday that got baptized on a full eclipse

(18:52):
of the sun. Yeah. AndI don't know what the hell I was
supposed to mean or if it meansanything, but it's weird that it all
happened at the same time. Yeah, I watched it. I watched one
or two John Wayne documentaries, JohnWayne gaycy documentaries, fucking creepy, creepy.
Yeah, if you like all thisstuff, I highly suggest you'd go

(19:15):
to the the Museum of Death inHollywood. I do want to do that.
I've been there twice. Love it. Yeah, there's also one of
New Orleans, New Orleans that Iwant to go to. I don't know
when I'll ever be in New Orleans. And then after you're done and you
want to you want to lighten themood, Watch from Scratch from Netflix.

(19:38):
From Scratch, it's another movie thateveryone is talking about because it makes you
cry. I don't want to saythat with Zoe Saldana in it and someone
else I don't know that name,who's Zoe's out on it? And it's
a true story. Zoe. She'sCatwoman? What's that one movie? Wonder

(20:00):
Woman? Not cat Woman? Notwonder Woman? What's that? Bad girl?
Is she bad girl? She's Superhero? She's in Crash. She she's
in that movie with Ashton Kutcher whenshe brings him home and her whole family's
black and they're like, why areyou with this white boy? Oh?
Yeah, Oh she's the Guardians aGalaxy. Lady. There you go,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, lady. She's the Guardians of the Galaxy.

(20:25):
Is she also an avatar? Ididn't know Vat's. Oh yeah she is,
she's the avatar girl, Lady, lady. You know they're to make
him part two. I don't thinkI even watched part one. Part one
was like groundbreaking, and now it'sit's probably gonna be like all right,
didn't watch it? All right?Yeah, so googling all google things right

(20:45):
after true crime story or documentary podcast. Huh, I google everything everything?
Yeah, dahmer boy, have youseen Apocalypto? Name sounds familiar? I
love that movie? Was that thething about the May Encounter? No,
probably not about it's it's not inEnglish actually, but it is about like

(21:15):
Indians. They get invaded and likeslaughtered and one of the guys puts his
wife and his young son and hiswife is pregnant, like in this hole
to hide and then he like goesoff to go kill all of them,
and the whole movie he's like killingthem and they're chasing him and it's really

(21:37):
good. I'm I'm looking. I'mgoogling it right now. Also, I
just started watching The Peripheral on Primewatch it. I think it's brand new.
There's only three episodes out right now. Fiance just started watching that also.
Damn it. She fucking finds everythingfirst? Well was what happens?
So no, you you find thingsfirst, and I'd let her know about

(21:59):
it. But like, so we'reall right, cool, we watched Dahmer
last night. Google a couple ofthings. While she's getting ready for bed,
I'm like, all right, cool, good night, And so I'm
trying to sleep for a good hourand a half two hours while she's got
the laptop out watching some other likeshow. It's like really like in bed,
like while I'm trying to sleep,we said good night, and here
comes the laptop and she's on someother Netflix show. I think it was

(22:22):
The Watcher. I think she startedwatching The Watcher. I watched. I
watched The Watcher in like two days. The Peripheral it's really good. There's
only three episodes out. Fourth episodewill come out Friday, so put that
on your list. Did you everwatch The Terminal List? That one's really
good. That sounds familiar. Ithink that's also on Prime. Oh yeah,
yeah, yeah, yah yah,we did watch that one? Did

(22:45):
you like it? I gotta googleto see what it is about. Hold
on, damn it. The Terminalbecause it was a little plot twisty at
the end, right, little plottwisty twist. Let me see if I
I'm just gonna google the Oh yeah, Chris Pratt. Oh yeah that was
good. Yeah that was really good. So good, right, Chris,
Chris, please, He's also inGuardians Galaxy, no is he? Yeah?

(23:07):
That's not ELSEO get him. He'salso in the Peripheral. He's in
the Peripheral and the Terminalist. Mmmmmmmokay, yeah I think he signed a
deal with Yah. Yeah. Butanyways, next date night watch from Scratch
and maybe your fiance will like thatone because it seems very chick Flicky's supposed

(23:29):
to be a true story and reallysad. It's giving notebook. But I
haven't even seen in trailer or anything. But yeah, I'm gonna watch it
maybe sometime this weekend when I feellike crying. Oh no, I can't.
I'm gonna have the kids. I'mbabysitting my sisters kids plural. I'm
babysitting my sister's kids this weekend overnight. Oh how many she got? Three?

(23:52):
Whoa? How old are they? What are the ages? Ten?
Huh that's easy, two oh fivemonths? Way where's she going that she
has to leave the kids home?So last weekend was her and her fiance's
anniversary, but it was also mysister's baby shower that we planned, so

(24:15):
they couldn't do anything. So theyare doing something this. I don't know
if what they were planning or wantingto do, but my mom doesn't want
to watch all the kids, andI'm sure she would, but if they
asked my mom to watch all thekids, that means they would have to
drive to Selena's to drop them offand then go out somewhere in Selena's for

(24:38):
their anniversary, like you know whatI mean. So she was like,
hey, remember when you told methat anytime I wanted to you know,
you would watch the kids for meanytime I wanted to go to the casino,
Because I did tell her that,Like when I first got here,
your sister or the mom, yourmom. I told my sister that,

(24:59):
like, hey, if you everI want to like go to the casino,
I'll watch the kids for you andyou and your fiance can go to
the casino fairs. You'll be downthe street right I'm super close to it.
I was like yeah, and shewas like, do you want to
have them overnight, so me andso me and Aja can have a romantic
anniversary getaway at Thunder Valley. Iwas like, you're gonna have a romantic
getaway at Thunder Valley. She waslike, well, yeah, we don't

(25:22):
have anywhere else to go because like, yeah, someone needs to watch the
kids, and it's just it's convenientand we can go do something there or
be out for a night as parentsand then have you down the street with
the kids. I was like, they might as want to go to Reno
then, which is only like atwo hour drive. She I don't think
she wants to drive that far,but there's so much more the waters.

(25:47):
But I think my nephew, thetwo year old is allergic to cats.
The one that's gonna say your house. Yes, so we'll see. But
yeah, she doesn't want to bethat far away because two of the babies
are so small. Because she evenwas gonna do what's that one an Elk
Grove Cash Creek? No, it'slike sky River or something. Did I

(26:11):
just make that up? No?I think you're right. There's a casino
and Elk Grove that she looked atand was like, how far is that
from? You, and I waslike, oh, probably like forty forty
five minutes. She's like, no, that's too far. Thunder Valley it
is, so she doesn't want tobe that far. Reno is two hours
from Thunder Valley. Maybe when they'reolder. Oh, she definitely would have
more fun. Maybe when they're older, but or even Tahoe. But I

(26:36):
think it's supposed to snow. Sheneeds chains. Oh that would be That
would be such a cute, romanticgetaway. I would imagine snowed in a
cabin. Yeah. I think Idid get anyway, So I'm gonna have
the kids overnight for the first time. I asked my little sister if she
wanted to come up after she's donewith school in San Jose. Let's talk

(26:59):
about that on the air tomorrow.I might have to give her gas money.
You're babysitting. We'll see. I'venever had the babies overnight, and
it's been so long since I've everhad a baby overnight. Yeah, I
think it'll be fine, though. The baby's actually really good. It's my
nephew, the two year old. That's crazy. So we'll see. Alex
goes good luck all right. OnInstagram at Strawberry and Lazette, or you
