Speaker 1 (00:00):
I know it's spooky season, but boy did I get
a scare of my life more than I could have
ever asked for. It's ninety five point one WayV. It's
Mike and Diane Show. And this weekend I was doing
work in the backyard, and a lot of work. Like
we have all these like blocks, concrete blocks, landscaper bricks,
I think they call them, like the big ones that

(00:20):
are kind of not a square but kind of look
like a square, you know what I'm talking about, I think. So.
So there's a wall, like a three layer wall of
them that go around in our backyard a little bit
like for where there was like a garden and whatnot
separating the backyard around. Well, we wanted them gone. We're
going to plant grass there, so I started using them
to build a fire pit. Let me tell you, every

(00:44):
single one of these bricks I flipped over. Not only
was there a spider underneath, it was a black widow.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
I killed no less than ten black widow spiders this weekend.
And then there was one that was a legitimate size
of a quarter that I could not kill because he
burrowed back into the hole that he builds and I
could not run away from these things fast enough because
then I had to look it up. I'm like, I
know they say that these are deadly. Let me look

(01:15):
it up. Yep, definitely deadly. They cannot bite you because
you will get sick. Adult, a healthy adult probably won't
get like deathly ill, but a kid, a pet, an old,
older person absolutely you like, so if you got a flamethrower,
let me know, because I'm I'm very I want to

(01:38):
do it for the weeds anyway. Now, I definitely need
to do it because apparently every single one of these
bricks in the crevice there's black widow spiders. And I
have a picture. Would you like to see a picture?
Too bad? You're gonna see that? Too bad?

Speaker 2 (01:52):
You're looking it is the Halloween season.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I could not believe my eyes when I took this
picture because it was the creepiest thing I have ever
seen in my life. Where are you? Where is the Maybe.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
You just won't find it, that's okay.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Come on, what is happening? They're just gone. They're all gone.
Oh my god, all the pictures are gone.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
This is my lucky day.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
This is unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Sorry, Mike, maybe another time.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Oh my god, what is happening. They're all gone. Every
picture I took this spot. Did they get on my
phone and delete it? I'm being half serious. Where where
are these pictures following him?

Speaker 2 (02:39):
They're deleting his photos?

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Oh my god? This is it is? I got it?
Here you go. Okay, the most very typical orange red
hour glass on the on the back right there. You
look it up? Yeah, you want to see over here?
That's how big was. There's a leaf and there's its leg,

(03:03):
and then you roll the leg all the way back
and you're like, oh baby, look at the leaf on
the ground.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
It's the size of that that gives you context.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, somebody help. I need flame throwers. Apparently there's a
family of black widow spiders in my backyard and I
don't know what to do about it.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
And you disrupted them. They're not happy about that.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
I'm gonna disrupt them a little more.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I don't have a flamethrower. I don't have one.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Sorry, I'm gonna get one.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Oh jeez, probably unless you keep them around for Halloween decor.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Yeah, no, okay, I don't think I will.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
All right.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I like my backyard. I'd like to be in it,
all right, Okay, good luck.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Mike and Diane's second date update On ninety five point
one w A y V. Erica from Little Leg Harbor
is looking for a second date with a guy named Roy.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Good morning, Erica, how's it going?

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Hi? Thanks for having me on.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Oh you're welcome.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
We're just curious about Roy and your date and how
everything's going.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Yeah, I'm curious too. We went out just for a coffee,
you know, light, nice light for aiden. I thought it
went great, But he's not getting back to me.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Oh man, huh, what'd you do?

Speaker 4 (04:25):
I wish I knew.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
If she knew, she wouldn't be calling us.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Probably, Yeah, that's not true. We've had the other way before. Yeah,
do they know? They're like, I just want to get
in touch and apologize.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Sometimes it does work out all right.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Well, since you have no idea, we just need to
go straight to the source, who is Roy.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
So we'll put you on hold.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
We'll play a song, we'll try to get Roy on
the phone, at least get you some answers.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
How does that sound?

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Yeah, let's do it.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Let's do it.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Coming up next on ninety five point one WayV. Ninety
five point one WayV with Mike and Diane's second date update.
A few minutes ago, Erica told us she went on
a date with a guy named Roy. She hasn't heard
anything after that first date. So we are trying to
help her out and let's just go for it.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Let's call Roy and hopefully we'll pick up. See what's
going on? Erica?

Speaker 5 (05:20):
Hey, Hello, Hi?

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Is this Roy?

Speaker 5 (05:23):
Yes, it is Bless.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
This is Mike and Diane from ninety five point one
WayV Radio.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Please don't hang up. There's my co host, Mike.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
We host a radio show, and there's a method to
our madness. We got a call from our radio family
member usually.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Erica. Does that sound familiar?

Speaker 5 (05:45):
Erica, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, that's a start.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
That's good. And she was telling us she went on
a date with you, she enjoyed the date. She expected
to hear from you after the date.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
She hasn't heard anything, so on her behalf were trying
to get some answers.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
So what what happened? Roy? Why aren't you getting back
to her?

Speaker 5 (06:05):
Oh? Yeah, no, we just weren't a very good fit,
that's all. Yeah. She uh, she's just very different from me,
that's all.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Different, don't you know.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
I'm not We're not gonna let you off the hook
that e y again. Please don't hang out. But what
do you mean different?

Speaker 5 (06:21):
Well, uh, all right, so we, uh we met up
for coffee, but she wanted to go pumpkin picking. We
still have met up for coffee, but that's what she
had suggested. I was like, let's just start with coffee course,
and you know, we get together and uh, I mean,
she's just really into Halloween. You know, she's she's got

(06:44):
pumpkin earrings. Now we're at coffee, so she orders a
pumpkin spice latte. In our conversation, she calls me pumpkins.
She just lets about. I'm just like what And then
she's talking about all these houses and she wants to
go to and all these you know, plans for our
future and and uh, you know, just but it's all

(07:08):
centered around Halloween. I mean it's just too much, way
too much. I mean, I don't even like horror films.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Oh really, we got to go to the Halloween source.
She's been actually listening in Erica. Does this break your
heart a little bit that Roy doesn't care about Halloween?

Speaker 4 (07:29):
Oh? I mean a little bit. Yeah, Honestly, that is
kind of a deal breaker. Oh my gosh, you don't
even like horror movies.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
I like that. I like that. That's the part that
was like the deal breaker.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
People are passionate about their horror movies.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Yeah, he just told me.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Honestly, is this your biggest time of the year, Halloween? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (07:56):
I love it. He's right. I'm totally obsessed. I can't
even deny it.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
I can't even imagine the decorations.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
And Roy, do you want to go to Erica's house
and check out the decorations for us?

Speaker 5 (08:08):
I'd rather know.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
All the pumpkins outside, all the scary decorations.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Well. I think it's sweet.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
That you get excited, I really do, because you get
excited and it's your timy year. Some people go over
the top of Christmas, some people Halloween.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
If that's your thing, I agree.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
But as long as you have something you love, Yeah,
but you better find somebody who loves it too.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Yeah, or I'm sure I will.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Or you find somebody who loves Halloween as much as
you and you're now that's a disaster because now you're
way too into Halloween, like way too in.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Well, I told you I went to a Halloween themed
wedding years ago exactly.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
That's what would happen.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah, that sounds awful.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Yeah, that that is that is something that can't happen.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Roy, Well, they had a mashed potato bar, so it
wasn't so awful. That's a standard standard and great theme
drinks for Halloween. Listen, it's just something that's important to her.
He doesn't care. They're not gonna meet in the middle.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
No, you know.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
So, I don't even know if I should ask the question.
You know what, I'll have you answered together? So Roy
and Erica would would either of you want a second date?

Speaker 4 (09:27):
No?

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
They were like no, no, no, no, that was more.
That was more of a goat.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Oh yeah that's true.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Well, Erica, please enjoy Halloween and the whole season.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Everything goes with it. And Roy, we want to issue
the best of luck. Maybe you'll be more into Christmas.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
Oh I love Christmas.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
There we go, there we go.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
You would have been perfect.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
All right.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
I did some digging and I did some analytical breakdown
of the Mike and Diane Show. Wow nine point one WayV.
As you know, we have a podcast. It's the Mic
and Diane on the Man Show. You can get out
on the iHeart app. You can get it wherever you
get your your podcast from. And it's basically what we
do all week, just conglomerated into one spot. But I

(10:19):
went into the analytics of it and I started pulling because,
as we know, you put something on the Internet, it's
there forever and it's there for everybody. I want to
test Diane of a little game I like to play
called where's the Mike and Diane Show being listened to
the most?

Speaker 2 (10:39):
The most?

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Okay, We're gonna leave the United States because I broke
down the entirety of the world.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
This is exciting.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
I'm gonna put two countries up against each other and
you have to decide which country listens to the Mike
and Diane Show the most.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Okay, I'm just excited that anyone's listening out of the.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Country in the country, let's be fair, but he's actually listening.
They're like, wow, they're here there, here's what not to
do on the radio. Oh yeah, so we're good.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Like a tutorial.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
First one up, Brazil or the Philippines. Which one listens
to the Mike and Diane Show on demand podcast the most?
Brazil or the Philippines.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
I have no rhyme or reason, no data. So I'm
just gonna go Brazil. The first one, you said.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Ingo, whoa, but it's close.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Oh wow.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Point two four of our listens are from Brazil, and
point one nine it's from the Philippines. Thank you Philippines.
Hi everyone, All my in laws are Filipino. I love
myself some Philippines. Let's keep it going, guys. Okay, I
haven't had Brazilian food, but I heard the steak is awesome.
Argentina versus Vietnam. Oh, this is a tough one.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
I'm gonna everyone you're saying, was like, ooh, this is a.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Yeah, but nobody really knows.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Gona go since I said the first one, listen, I'm
gonna go Vietnam.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Okay, you're wrong. Oh, no, five in Vietnam. Not big fans,
not big fans.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
I don't like this.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Argentina. Point one percent of all of our listens are
from Argentina.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Thanks Argentina.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
All right, let's keep it rolling. You tell me when
you want me to conglomerate these down and get these
you know, done quick. Nigeria versus Italy.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Oh, I gotta go with my heart, which is in Italy.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
It is wrong Nigeria.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah, I mean, no offenks Nigeria. But I just I
want to go back to Italy.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Yeah yeah, well point one verse point oh five. Now
we get to the heavy hitters. All the countries outside
of Canada. Canada, shout out to you. You you got
a full percent of all of our listens are from Canada. Nice.
But let's get into the heavy hitters. Is it Australia
or South Korea?

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Oh, Australia or South Korea.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
You know my theory that only hot people live in Australia.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, so South Korea is your guess.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
I'm gonna go with Australia, that is right.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Yeah, shout out to Australia are number two most listened
to country.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Maybe Hugh Jackman's listening.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
But I will tell you one of these next two
countries is tied with South Korea at point two four. Okay,
Australia is point two nine percent of all of our listens.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
The United Kingdom versus Japan.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Oh, I'm gonna go Japan on this one.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
It is the UK two four. You're in South Korea. Japan,
you're lagging at point one nine. Okay, all right, you
want to get a little more personal. Sure, May's Landing
or Galloway, Galloway.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
This is a tough one, tough one because I do
a lot of shopping in Mayslanding, right, and I used
to live.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
In Galloway, which I enjoyed. So you know what, let
me go with my peeps in Galloway.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
It is May's Landing Galloway.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Fine with that, I'm fine?

Speaker 5 (13:52):
All right?

Speaker 1 (13:53):
You want to do one more? Yes, all right? Oh,
let's see. Let's to egg Harbor or egg Harbor.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
City, egg Carver Township or egg Harber City.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Yeah, okay, yeah, eht, baby, you are.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
One hundred percent right, yes, EHT. Love you guys, love,
love you so much. Northfield of.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Northfield, yay.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Oh what town in New Jersey listens to us the least?
Let's step it up, Garfield, Garfield, Tucker did what are
you doing down here? Figure it out? All right? That's it?
Remember game.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
You can always listen on the free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Yeah, and just so you know, I will be checking
next week and maybe we'll play again to see who
listened the most this week. Don't let your town suck.
It is not a five point one way v It's
the Mike and Diane Show.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
It is your go to Friday movie. You know, it's
a long, stressful week at work. Maybe you've got some
plans on Saturday night, but you're watching one of your
favorite movie. He's on a Friday night, almost like a
comfort thing. Jennifer Lawrence has a go to Friday night.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Movie, Bridget Jones Diary.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
And I'm not just saying that because I'm in England.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
I know exactly where it's going. I think Rede's all where.
Here's a British accent with another American. It's just perfect.
That's a Friday night movie. You know exactly where it's going.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
I think for me it could possibly be while you
were sleeping with Sandra Bullock. I know that's random, but
that would be a good Friday night movie.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
I know exactly what's happening. It makes me feel good, yeah,
or if it was a couple's thing. We watch National
Treasure a lot.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
You know, Nicholas, the Declaration of Independence.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
We like that.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
I'm steal the Declaration of Okay, Nicholas.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
We all like that. On a Friday.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
I really enjoy sitting down with the kids and watching
the same Disney movies We've seen a thousand times.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
That's good. That's your Friday movie.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
In conto cars, Molanna Milana, Frozen. I mean it's Frozen two,
Frozen two. Just finding the movie is a real pain
in the butt because we can never decide. I can't
get both kids on the same page. So basically I'll
let them both pick a movie and then we eliminate
those from the choice.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Oh like brackets almost yeah, almost like it, but the winner.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Loses Friday Movie brackets. I like it.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
So then we'll just end up picking something and usually
land on like Coco or something again, same thing. You
know where it's going. You've seen it a thousand times.
You never pick up anything new because you picked up
everything new the first hundred times, and by the tenth
time you've already looked up all the Disney secrets.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
And you don't want to really think that much on
a Friday.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
That's no, No, that's why it's your Friday movie.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
I like it, the whole Disney line up, the whole thing.
So give us a call.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
What is your Friday Movie? Six so nine four eight
four WayV.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Ninety five point one WayV. It's the Mike and Diane Show.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
What is your Friday movie.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
You know, you've had a long week. You just want
to watch a movie you know that is in your
comfort zone. Let's check in with Jenna from Atlantic City. Jenna,
what is your Friday movie?

Speaker 6 (17:05):
It is definitely A League of Their Own.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
Oh, that's a great one. I think I love you
A League of their Own.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Yeah, because you know what to expect, you love the characters.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
It's comforting.

Speaker 6 (17:16):
Oh, I can quote every word. Yeah, it's the best.
It's the best movie.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
You know what, the best part of that movie is.
I always forget about the end, like the last fifteen minutes, Like, yeah,
I don't know why, but like in the the spoiler
there when she gets traded, what that happens? I always forget,
like that part of it happens. I'm always thinking about,
you know, the build up to the games and all that,

(17:41):
and the search and Marla Hooch what a hit her? Yeah,
like that part. I like those are the parts I
remember the movie. And then at the end, I'm like, oh, yeah,
I always kind of forget how this happens.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Well, that's kind of nice because you still have a
little bit of a surprise even though you've seen it.

Speaker 6 (17:56):
I like that, well, and It's just a perfect movie
because it takes you through this journey and I love
movies from the past anyway, like going Back in Crime,
and then you get to see them when they're older
and you know their story and it's just like so heartfelt.
Plus the fact that it's based on a real story
and real lives, it's just so comforting for a weird reason.

(18:18):
I don't know. I love it so much.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Fun fact, everybody in the game at the end real players.

Speaker 6 (18:24):
Yes, yes, those are the real women. And I don't know,
there's something like girl power about it. I love it.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Well, Jenna, that is great. When next time you watch that,
think of Mike and Diane.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
I will thank the hot new travel trend with Mike
and Diane on ninety five point one WayV.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Actually it's not that hot when you think about it.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
More travelers are exploring cooler climates or off season destinations
rather than following the crowds to hot beach locations.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Cool cationers ot for places where temperatures stay below seven five.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
That's the key for this trend.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Below seventy five degrees a destinations that have become popular.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Anti Cortes Washington never heard of that one.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
That's probably a little town where people think that what's
it called this film the Hallmark Movies. Oh yeah, that's
what I feel like.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Maybe some wineries.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Yeah, what is the name of that town?

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Anti Cortes, Anna Cortes A N A C O R
T E. S. Washington Fast.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Thanks. Yeah, just keep going on. I'm telling you that
is a picturesque Christmas village.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Yes, and if it is, I'm going.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
Victoria, British Columbia. Also popular Yellowstone National Park. People are
going to Logan, Utah. They're going to Montana for their coolcations. Salem, Massachusetts.
That has always been on my bucket list.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
But of course I want to Halloween.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
I want to go during Halloween. But it's really booked
and real expensive.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Oh god, yah, because it's it's like, uh, the North Pole. Really,
it's that's what it is. That's where Halloween is is Salem, Massachusetts.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Gotta go Salem, Massachusetts. Yeah. Portland, Maine also beautiful from
what I hear.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
I that's very weird because I got asked literally yesterday
about taking a trip to Portland, Maine.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
Oh perfect, coolcations combine natural beauty with fewer tourists, not
well not anymore if these are becoming popular and unique
local experiences.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
And I gotta say, I was watching Dateline the.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
Other night and the story was set in Alaska, and
for the first time, just seeing the beautiful scenery, I thought,
maybe someday in Alaskan cruise. My I'd have to really
talk my husband into it because we always go to
the warm destinations, go to the Caribbean.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Yeah, but it really was so beautiful.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
I don't ask me about the Dateline mystery that that
was not beautiful, but the scenery was.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
