Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
It's ninety five point one WayV the Mike and Diane
Show with your weekly reminder.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Just do it now. Check your boobies, feel them up.
Thank you, You're welcome.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Go to feel them around. You're in the car, you're
at home, you're at work, whatever, nobody. Just pretend you
have an itch and the do the check, see if
there's any bumps, and go get it checked out immediately.
You know, a couple of weeks ago we I gave
you guys like the update, my wife found lumps ended
up being breast cancer. She just came out of the
misseectomy double and we're recovering now. We finally got all

(00:32):
our drains out. We're on our road to recovery. All
the genetic stuff and all the testing on everything they
took out coming back positive.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
But I'm telling you, net well, she is still struggling.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
So oh, I'm sure. I'm just saying, yeah, I'm.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Doing the positive patty thing right now and everything's good.
So we think everybody it's Loan, her best friend who's
a nurse.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
It's Loan. I don't know how to repay that woman,
but check yourself right now.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Do it.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
You're in the car, I know you're listening to this.
If you're listening to this.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Just you know it's weird when I say it, So
like Dan, Diane, can you say it?

Speaker 5 (01:07):
Definitely check yourself now, because early detection is key.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
It's literally the only reason my wife's still here.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
Yeah, I mean every October I get my mammogram, but
your wife wasn't even at the age. No, I don't
believe that it's covered to get a mammogrant. They are
trying to work certain lawmakers are trying to work on
that to get women to be able to get back
covered earlier, which I think they should because early detection
is key.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
We hear it over and over again.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
We worked with many breast cancer charities over the years
and that's what they tell us.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
So even if say you're running to the ladies room
at work and you're in.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
The stall, just do it then, or even your shower
in the morning or evening whenever, that's a good time
to check.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
But you must take care of these things early.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
And I'm glad that her recovery is going well, but
still it's a long road emotionally especially.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Yeah, that's the thing is we're amaving from the physical
pain into the mental and I think she's doing okay,
she's up and about. She's able to go to the
kids' games. Oh good, But I listen. We just came
out of a world where it was like sing a
song while you're washing your hands for thirty seconds.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Sing that song and just check your boobies.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
I said it, Yeah, do it, do it right now.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
I'm not even kidding where. I'm so mad at you
right now because you're not doing it. You're listening to
this and you're not doing it. Put your hand on
your booby and feel around.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Yeah what he said, figure it out. It's important.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Okay, love you, bye, Thank.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
You, Good morning.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
It's the Mike and Diane Show on ninety five point
one WayV.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Do you have a passion project? A study found that
you can improve your health by having a passion project.
Is there something that you want to cross off your list?
Let us know on talk back on the free iHeartRadio app.
When you're listening to WayV, just tap that red microphone
as your direct line to the studio or give us
a call six oh nine four eight four WayV. We're

(03:07):
talking passion projects. Ninety five point one WayV.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
With Mike and Diane talking passion projects. Michelle from Linwood,
is there a passion project that you want to cross
off your list?

Speaker 6 (03:19):
I have a five year old lab right now, and
I really just want to make my lab into a
service dog, mostly just to help my mom who's's getting
older and is kind of the need of a service dog.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
Well, I did a little research on service dogs because
I thought to myself, do they enjoy being a service dog?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Is it something that they you know, because.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
When we come to work, even though well we work
in radio, so it's fun, but usually work equals work,
And the research says that they actually enjoy it because
not only do they love the attention, but they love
helping people. And then when you take the service dog
vest off of them, they're just back to being the
regular self and playing and there's no difference. So they
actually enjoy being a service dog. So I really like

(04:04):
doing that research.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
Matie, She's just she's always been a joy to be around,
and she I just always felt like she's had like
the personality to be a really good service dog, and
my mom needs one. So I'm really excited to kind
of just start the journey with her.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
Well, shout out to Maggie and a shout out to
your mom, and good luck with everything.

Speaker 6 (04:25):
Thank you you as well, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Good morning.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
It's Mike and Diane on ninety five point one WayV
and Mike, my husband and I have to do something
that I'm not looking forward to.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Okay, we have to go sofa shopping. Need some sucks
new furniture.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
That thinks the world.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
It's so it is so fun the idea of it
and like imagining what it's going to be. But once
you actually leave your house to go look, you get
overwhelmed with options.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
You do and you're gonna have this piece of furniture for.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Years, let's just call it forever.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Hopefully, because the last one we got was when we
moved in about eight almost eight years ago, not.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
The best quality. So we do need a new one
because it's we use it. That's one that we use
every day in a different room.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
We have another sofa that we never sit on, which
I'm thinking about maybe just transferring that in and leaving
the room empty.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
But anyway, so we have to we have to go there.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
You will to talk design, I'll talk design, baby. I
love I love this part.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
Of moving well, I have to tell you the type
of sofa of my husband wants. He wants one that's
the really cushy and deep where you have to climb
into it.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
And it reminds me. I don't think you watch Curb
your Enthusiasm.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
It's absolutely on my I have missed this. I gotta
go back. There's a few of those shows that I'm
embarrassed to say I've never really watched.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Well, there was one episode where Larry David was trying
to climb off the sofa in one of those really
deep cushy ones. Yeah, and I remind him my hobby
of this. I'm like, I'm not gonna be able to
get out.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Of this sofa. Yeah, or maybe our puppies she won't
be able to get out of it.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Or is that kind of the point to not be
able to get out?

Speaker 5 (06:04):
Yeah, I guess I told him I don't want it
to be too comfortable because he'll never get off the sofa.

Speaker 7 (06:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
He didn't like that. Yeah, so we've got to do that.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
But here's some stats on the average sofa or couch,
whichever term you prefer it lasts. Oh, this is great,
The average last eight years. That's exactly where I'm at.
It has witnessed three hundred eleven arguments, four hundred and
one naps, more than eighty five hundred hours of TV
watching five hundred and thirty seven movies, and the sofa
will swallow the remote three hundred and forty six times.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Smash the over on all of those.

Speaker 8 (06:38):
Woo.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
So I'll let you know how it goes with the
sofa shopping And next time such a commitment, like.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
I said, bring a tape measure and know your know
your measurements.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
It takes me a while to make a commitment.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
As you know, next time you're sitting on your sofa,
just give it, give it a little pat.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
It's it's been through a lot. Thank you.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
Mike and Diane's second date update on ninety five point
one way V Erica from Ventnor is looking for a
second date update with a guy named Keith Erica.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
How's it going today?

Speaker 9 (07:09):
Hi, Everything's going well. I guess okay.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
I could be a little bit better though, because you're
calling us, but we're really curious about this.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Please tell us about Keith and your first date.

Speaker 9 (07:21):
Well, I really like Keith. I thought I was able
to be myself with him, and we had a two
part of date, and I mean everything was just going
great that I thought, like a conversation, everything was well,
and then I don't know what happened, Like I'm not
hearing from him, and I'm just confused. I don't know, no.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Red flags at all. It sounds like like it was
just not that.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
I know of.

Speaker 9 (07:50):
I mean, I said it was a two part a date.
It was great, everything was wonderful. I mean at least
I thought. But I'm trying to reach out him, and
like I'm not hearing anything. He hasn't called me, he's
not texting, he's not doing anything. He's not responding all.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Right, so frustrating. Hopefully he's not in the hospital or something,
because I mean we're married or whatever all the other.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Oh yeah, we all the things we've done already, believe.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
You, me Erica, we've gotten it. We've gotten it all.
But let's find out. Let's not let jump to any conclusions.

Speaker 9 (08:23):
Yeah, because oh my god, I didn't think about that.

Speaker 7 (08:26):
Well.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
I didn't want to make you nervous, but I did.
What we'll do is put you on hold. We'll play
a song, and we'll try to get Keith on the phone.
At least get some answers, and that is coming up next.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
Ninety five point one w A y V ninety five
point one way V with Mike and Diane's second date update.
A few minutes ago, Erica told us about her first
day with Keith. Erica said, it was a great day.
Conversation went well, she doesn't understand why Keith is not
reaching out to her, so we're gonna do the dirty
work for her.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Let's just do it.

Speaker 8 (08:57):
Here we go, Erica, Hello, Hi, is this Keith?

Speaker 7 (09:09):
Yeah? Who's good?

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Hey Keith.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
It's Mike and Diane from ninety five point one w
A YV Radio.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
We host a morning show. How are you I?

Speaker 7 (09:20):
I'm okay, that's good.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
I just wonder if you have a few minutes.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
We got a call from someone that you know. Her
name is Erica and oh okay, and she was telling
us about your first date and we're helping her out
because she isn't hearing anything from you, which, as you
can imagine, very frustrating. So on her behalf, we're trying

(09:46):
to get some answers. So, oh, say hi to my
co host Mike.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
He's here.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Hello, But Keith.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Could you help us out for a couple of minutes.
Why aren't you getting in touch?

Speaker 7 (09:59):
I guess so I could. I guess, I guess I
could talk about it. Yeah. So we met and everything
seemed fine. But then we went to a top golf
and she started talking about how she doesn't like golf,
which I'm like, okay, well we're here, might as well

(10:21):
make the best of it. And then I'm gonna tell
you every five minutes there was something else. There was
something wrong with everything she was. You know that that
SNL character, Debbie Downer. Oh, yeah, that's what it was.
I couldn't say anything without her finding the negative side

(10:43):
of it.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
Oh that that can be draining, negativity.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Exhausting is a good word. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (10:51):
I couldn't even really get her to laugh at anything. Well,
you know this, this, this and this and well those
just I it was. It was way too much.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Yeah, oh boy, so she could.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
Oh there by the way she's been Eric has been
listening in Erica. Please say hi to Keith and Keith.

Speaker 9 (11:13):
I'm I did not realize that I was doing that.
Like I was just on myself. I was just really,
you know, like just down on myself. I wasn't trying
to be like down like to ruin the dat. You know,
I just felt like I sucked.

Speaker 8 (11:29):
Well.

Speaker 7 (11:29):
I mean, it wasn't even that you were down on yourself.
We would all have insecurities. It was just everything I said.
It was like, well, you know, this negative thing happened,
and then this thing is you know, all this other stuff.
I'm just like, oh my god.

Speaker 9 (11:45):
Because oh my god, like I am such a clutch
and I was just really afraid that like what if
I fell off. I don't know, like that was my
first time there and it was just I don't know,
I'm so sorry.

Speaker 7 (11:58):
That was not like I.

Speaker 9 (11:59):
Did not mean you should come off like that.

Speaker 7 (12:01):
That was not okay at all. Can you guys kind
of hear what I'm saying, Like, yeah, I'm I'm but
I also not just talking about top golf. I'm talking
about like everything. Yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Mean, I haven't been on a first date in almost
twenty years, but I have been in moods where I'm
like everything stinks right now. You know we've all gotten
in those moods, but it's a little different when it's
a first date.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Yeah, you should probably reschedule. Yeah, I'm feeling that vibe.

Speaker 7 (12:34):
But I mean I just I wasn't.

Speaker 9 (12:37):
I wasn't trying to come off like that, like I
was just so you know, I mean, we were I'm
a clut with some things, and like I was just
so afraid that what if I swing and miss? And
I didn't want to embarrass myself.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
And then well, let me let me, let me, let
me try and save this for you, Okay, let me
try and say she felt comfortable being herself around you.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Immediately.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
She didn't put on a fright. She wasn't pretending to
be somebody she wasn't. She was her.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Now was it the best presentation of her? No?

Speaker 5 (13:08):
But if it's her, but it's her, that's her. Yeah,
And he didn't.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
But maybe I didn't save this because now we can
be like, well that's her. I don't want that.

Speaker 7 (13:18):
You guys can hear. She's not even really listening to me.
Everything was everything?

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Yeah, and that is it is. It is exhausting.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
I just have one more question, well, two more questions, Erica,
Has anyone ever told you this before?

Speaker 3 (13:33):
No? All right, that's all we need to know.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
Sometimes if there's negativity, then maybe someone else mentioned it. Okay,
Now I do have one more question, Erica, you're the
one that called us, would you want a second date
with Keith? If we could turn this around and he
would say yes, what would you say?

Speaker 3 (13:50):
It would be on us and no golfing involved.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
I don't.

Speaker 9 (13:55):
I mean I had a great time with him.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Yes or no?

Speaker 9 (13:59):
I guess yeah, she had.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
To say, I guess yeah. Well that's the protective thing.
That's to put the shield over her for when his
answer comes back unhappy.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
I gotcha. So, Keith, what what's your answer?

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Yes, that's why I guess, like I'll do it as
a favor.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
Keith, You're being so negative.

Speaker 7 (14:18):
It's just too much, too much.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
I understand, just not not competitive.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Tried.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
I did my best, but doun the hole deeper. But
I tried.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
All right, we want to issh you both the best
of luck.

Speaker 9 (14:31):
Thank you, thank you for trying.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
And illegal pizza topping.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
It's the Mike and Diane Show in ninety five point
one w A y V.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
This is crazy.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Over one third of people survey think that it should
be illegal to put pineapple on up pizza.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Mike, do you like Hawaiian pizza?

Speaker 1 (14:49):
I am here to say I love Hawaii pea?

Speaker 4 (14:52):
You do?

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I love it?

Speaker 5 (14:53):
So you are not in that one third that you
think people should be locked up over a pizza time.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
No, I think that anybody who says that has an
twenty eight.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
Percent of people say it's tough to be friends with
someone who likes pineapple and their pizza.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
You would give up a friend over this?

Speaker 1 (15:07):
No, I don't think they will. They're just saying that
because they want to make headlines.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Give us a call. What food. We'll just have a
little fun with us if it could be illegal. Which food,
in your opinion, should be illegal? Besides Hawaiian pizza?

Speaker 5 (15:20):
One third of people surveyed think it should be illegal
to put pineapple on pizza.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
That's a bold statement. Illegal.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
Yes, So just for fun, we're asking which food, in
your opinion, should be illegal? James from ebseek and what
do you say? Y know, honestly, I think it should
probably be shellfish.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Shellfish should be illegal. Are you allergic? Jim?

Speaker 9 (15:44):
I mean yeah, so I may have a flight vendetta
against it, but honestly, man, it's it's kind of overrated,
and it's especially the roach of the sea. I mean,
come on, let's be real.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
Lobster.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
Oh yeah, please don't please, don't get them started, Jim.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
We must move on.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
I'll tell you the full backstory.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
I've heard the backstory and it's bad and I don't
want to know.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
Let's get rid of it.

Speaker 8 (16:08):
Shrimps lost the crab.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
They can go.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
All right, frid Shrimp tastes good.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Can I ask you a question that on this on
this topic, Diane, my son asked me for a sandwich
yesterday and he asked me to put mustard and mayo
on it.

Speaker 8 (16:23):
Is that?

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Is that illegal?

Speaker 3 (16:25):
That's a good question. Actually is that? Jim? It should
be yea, it should be Okay, I did it. Jim's
making some bold statements.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
Yeah, Jim, you are out of your mind.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Parents are superheroes.

Speaker 5 (16:39):
It's the Mike and Diane shall On ninety five point
one w A y V.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
So, Mike, I applaud you and the rest of the parents.
It's not easy, Thank you, Thank you. As he's exhausted.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Just survive, survival.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
But sometimes you could use a little help, even though
you're already a superhero.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
So there was a survey and.

Speaker 5 (16:58):
The top four superpowers that parents wish they had. See
which one you would pick if you could only pick
one out of these four?

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Mind control? Don't care what the other four are.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
See if that's on the list. If not, we can
add it a number one.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Invisibility, Yes, but not for what everybody else is thinking.
I wanted visibility so my kids can't find me.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
That may be what they're thinking.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
What they're thinking. Yes, okay, I'm gonna.

Speaker 5 (17:25):
Instead of that lady who hides in the pantry, maybe invisibility.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Yeah, listen, I'm gonna tell you the real side of
parenting on this.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
I'm not going to be the cute one that's like yes,
so that I can keep up with what they're doing. No,
so they can't find me, Yes, exactly.

Speaker 5 (17:39):
Here we go at number two, flying again, so they
can't find me at number three. Oh, this is a
good one time travel, So that could work either way,
maybe like oh I wish I miss having like a
squishy baby around the house, or you like, you know what,
let's fast forward a few years out of these Terrible twos.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
No, we're going back because you got you gotta you
gotta get through the Terrible Twos and the three Najor
to appreciate what's after that. Okay, but you gotta survive that.
But I would go back in time and maybe not
say or do this thing that now is a thing
that we do.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Oh right, yeah, you learn from your mistakes.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Yeah, like, oh maybe maybe don't like fake say this
food is gross, because now that's going to be a
forever thing.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Right, Yeah, I'm sure there's so many things.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
We're going to go back and change all the things.
They'll put them in therapy at number.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
Four super strength, a lot of legos to pick up.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Yeah, yeah, okay, I don't have a I don't have
a use for that one.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
But what was the first one that you were saying?

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Mind control?

Speaker 3 (18:41):
Mind control? Okay that's still your answer.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Yeah, yeah, okay, you will eat this food.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
That is the power that Mike would like to have.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
So I will get out of the bath now.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
That would really come in handy.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Actually, Mike and Diane on ninety five point one, w
A y V.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Hope you're having a great day. But I am having
a pro problem here at the office. Mic.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Oh boy, I don't even.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
Know if there's any solution to this.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
I'm going to try to rein it in and you
will agree with me immediately when I tell you.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
I'm terrified.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
My post it note habit has gone even further out
of control. Have you seen this mess over here.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Yes, I see it every day.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
I walk in and there's I mean, your little area
over there kind of looks like one of those pranks
that people pull where they put post it notes all
over a car.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
That's kind of what your area looks like.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
I don't ignore my post it notes, though.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
I can tell you no, No, you do look at
them a lot. I'll say something and you go hold on. Yeah, yeah,
I can feel you looking around trying to find the
right post You almost have too many, you know what,
you know what you should do. You should get a
big post it note and put all of that information
on one post it note, almost like a piece of paper.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
Does anyone else have this issue where you're just in
post it note?

Speaker 3 (19:59):
Hell, call us and make me feel better. Good morning.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
It's Mike and Diane on ninety five point one WayV
and a few minutes ago, I admitted it.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
My post it note habit is out of control. My degrees.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
Yes, let's check in with Katie from Summer's point, Katie,
do you have a post it note problem?

Speaker 4 (20:19):
Hey Diane, No, I was calling in so I can
tell you that you really need to keep that under control.
I had an ex boyfriend who had a serious post
it note problem. You know, everything from don't forget the
floss to call your mom uh to don't forget the vacuum,

(20:41):
like just silly little everything. They were everywhere Oliver's house
got so bad that one day I found a post
a note in his house and said, break up with Katie.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
Oh good yeah, oh h my goodness.

Speaker 7 (20:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
So I confronted it and he could not explain that one.
And that was the end of us, basically breaking.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
Up by post it note, but you were Actually it
was an in person break up with the post it note? Wow?

Speaker 4 (21:10):
Can because I have them to find it?

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Can I can?

Speaker 1 (21:13):
I just say that the post note worked. Maybe that
was his way of breaking.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
Up with yousive aggressive.

Speaker 5 (21:24):
I didn't think of that because he just has naturally
has the post it notes all over the house for
every little thing, but.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Shamalan flipsy twipsy.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
He put the post it note up, knowing you'd find it,
you'd break up with him because you don't want to
be broken up with. Sure to be the aggressive one,
and now he gets to go out and be like,
my girlfriend just left me.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Oh boy, okay, she's the crazy one.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
I'm not sure he was that smart
