Speaker 1 (00:00):
Recording Drive with Christie Live Classic Kids one oh three
point seven. It's time for the great debate.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
I don't understand why Karina doesn't want senior citizens to drive.
I don't understand why that's the correct thing.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Christy, because if they drive the way my seventy four
year old dad drives, they don't need to be on
the road.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
Stop it.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
I'm just saying, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday always got
to talk about crazy things happening, and we usually debate
a hot topic, and seniors driving definitely a hot topic.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
And now the DMV just came out and.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Said, you know what, if someone's over the age of seventy,
we don't even need to see you in here. Just
stay at home, don't come in. We don't need a
written test. Maybe if your eyes are bad, maybe if
you've had a few accidents or incidents, then come in.
We'll check your eyes, get a new picture. But that's it.
No more written test for anyone over the age of seventy.
(01:02):
I don't know if that means no more driving tests
over the age of seventy. I'm assuming no, because you
only have to take the one driving test and that's it.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
However, I think if you're over the age of seventy,
you should be taking both tests, a driving and a
written test.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Okay, let me not play you out because I'm just
not over being sicke. What do you think is the
question for this morning's great debate. If you're over seventy,
should you have to go into the DMV and take
some kind of tests so that way we can make
sure that you are still able and okay to drive.
(01:46):
My mother I don't know how old she is. She
always just says old enough to be my mom. I'm
assuming she might be over the age of seventy.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
She drives.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
She's the only person I know who has been pulled
over for driving too slow. The officer pulled her over
and was like, ma'am, have you been drinking and she
was like, no, yeah, I don't drink alcohol.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
He said, okay, well I need you to hit it.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
I'm gonna He told her to speed up because she
was driving too slow. So maybe if you're over a
certain age, you should have to go to the DMV.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
All right today the Crazy Train. He's getting ready to
head out to Oklahoma. But first things first. At seven
twenty you can get eighty minutes of commercial for music
for your drive Today.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
The Crazy Train is rolling out to.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Payne County, Oklahoma, where Cody Adams was just trying to
do his best. We all try and do our best.
He had a court date regarding you know, some issues,
and he decided, Okay, I'm going to ask people at
the gas station for a ride.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Excuse me, sir, can I have a ride? Excuse me, ma'am?
Can I have a ride?
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Nobody wanted to give Cody Adams a ride to court,
so he had to just take matters into his own hands.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Adams decided to hop in this unoccupied LifeNet emergency Services
vehicle and drive himself to court. A trooper caught him
as he was walking into the courthouse, Adams saying he
was just borrowing the truck.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Uh, Christy, he stole and what sounds like an ambulance
to go to court.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
He had to do.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
What he had to do is not Cody's fault. He
was just trying to make his court date. I will
give you one guess as to why Cody had a
court date in the first place.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
I'm gonna say it has to do with car fact.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
He had a court date regarding a stolen vehicle. The
cops let him make his court date. They said, we'll
shoot you're here now, head into court. And as soon
as Cody Adams was double his court day, they locked
him up and drove him back to Payne County and
booked him on more stolen vehicle charges.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Bless us hard well. At least he tried. It's fast.
He thought he was trying to That's all we do.
We could just try and do our best. That's your
daily Crazy News story.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Corning Drive with Christy Live Classic Hits one oh three
points set up. It's time for the Great Debate.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Nobody wants to be stuck behind somebody who's elderly driving,
because sometimes that could be an issue. Usu Karina already
put her down on blast for being maybe not the
best driver over seventy.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
My mom, I don't know how old she is.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
She always says old enough to be your mom, but
I'm assuming she might be up there. And she's the
only person I know who's been pulled over for driving
too slowly. And now the DMV says, if you're over seventy,
don't worry about a driver's test because we don't want
to keep people in the DMV, and by not having
these people show up, maybe we can free up the
(05:35):
time to do other things that people need to do.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Which I think Christy is ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
What do you think is the question for this morning's
great debate hold on, wait for it great Toby? Do
you think this rule for seventy plus needing to still
take a driver's test needs to still.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
Be a part of the California law? Good morning? Who's this?
Speaker 6 (06:05):
Good morning, Chrissy. This is Judy the List driver. Ay,
I'm seventy five and I said the same thing from
that drive around here. Okay, you're just gonna let them
keep driving, So.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
You feel like there should be some sort of checks
and balances after a certain age.
Speaker 6 (06:28):
Yes, because I have to pitch a test, and I'm
telling you I studied for amorrow a month.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
All right, then we will note your vote.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
It's been kind of split this morning with people jumping in,
But what do you think? I always love to hear
your thoughts on the Great Debate. Should folks over the
age of seventies still have to take a driver's test
to keep their license? You can tap the red microphone
(06:57):
on our free iHeartRadio app and leave talk back if
you'd like to join in on the fund, or just
pick up the phone to give me a call back.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
To the Great Debate Classic Kids one oh three point seven.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
The DMV just announced that people over the age of
seventy no longer have to take the driving test.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Do you think that that is a good rule?
Speaker 2 (07:24):
That is the Great Debate this morning, Every Monday, Wednesday
and Friday, we always have to discuss something, Chris, What
do you think?
Speaker 6 (07:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (07:31):
Yeah, I think people over seventy five to eighty definitely
over eighty, Like my dad and my mom.
Speaker 7 (07:37):
Are seventy six and seventy seven, respectively, So I know
what you're getting up there.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Okay, I'll note that boat. Thank you so much for
the call. Good morning Asia. What do you think should
people over the age of seventy have to take the
driving test?
Speaker 8 (07:49):
So my daddy is seventy two years old and he
looks all the forty, he's so beautiful, and he has
been told that he has to take the driver's test again,
and he is a nervous wreck. And my dad is
one of those people that's like real tough and hard
and thinking Clint east Wood and don't get nervous. And
he's a nervous wreck. And I don't think that seniors
(08:10):
should have to be subjective those things. And my daddy
retired from waste management. He held a Class B license
all of his life. I don't think some people can
do things very very well but are terrible, terrible, terrible
test takers. So in the world the way that it
is like right now, driving is like riding the bike.
It's one of those things that you don't forget how
to do.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Okay, so you just say let him drive. He knows
how to do it, and he'll be fine. You are
on the island of one Party one Asia, but I
will note that vote and thank you so much for
the call this morning.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
For the Great Debate.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Should you have to take your driving test if you
are over at the age of seventy?
Speaker 9 (08:54):
Good morning, Christy, This is Melissa. I think that all
elder people should have to take a try license because
when my grandmother, I remember when I was a teenager,
got older, she drove into a bridge because she had
old timers and dementia. I don't think that those kind
of people should be driving, not kind of people, but
the older people that are losing their mind.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Thanks, have a great day.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Well I hope she was okay and everyone else was
to thank you for the talkback, Melissa, and for jumping in.
What do you think you get your opinion in? It
is all about you, you know in the morning. Always
love hearing from you. You can tap the red microphone
if you're listening on our free iHeartRadio app and do
what Melissa did. Just send a talkback or pick up
(09:38):
the phone and give me a call one eight six
six nine hundred one three seven to join this morning's
Great Debate.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Here from you. Next back to the.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Great Debate Classic Kids one oh three point seven.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
DMV said, now, if you're over seventy, don't stake to drive.
They want to make sure that there's plenty of people
and staff and resources at the DMV to help other people.
So what do you think about this new rule? That's
the great debate. Do it every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
where we discuss the hot topic, Stormy.
Speaker 10 (10:15):
I have lots of older aunties that should take the
test every year. At this point I love them dearly,
but a couple of them are like the onset of Alzheimer's.
One is losing crest real vision, and the likes to drive,
and there's a multitude of things that come up that
go undetected as you age. I think that it's a
(10:38):
good idea for them to take the test for the
safety of themselves and others. That's just a really good idea.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
Okay, we will note that boat.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Thank you so much, and thank you to everyone who's
been using our free iHeartRadio app and dropping these talkbacks.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
You can always jump in and join the fun. Got
one here. Hell, yes, they need to still take a
driving test. Oh, that is DMV in this state.
Speaker 11 (11:02):
Just collecting money from people who should not clearly have
a driver's license anymore. Their reaction time is different. They
can't see over the damn wheel.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
What the heck? Get those people off the road.
Speaker 11 (11:14):
I'm sorry, but it's time to hang them up and
get your grandson to take you to the grocery shore.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
I love you down Gray Ray.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
I'm gonna just call you savage because that was great.
Say get your grandchildren to take you. Okay, man, what
do you think about the over seventies not having to
take a driving test at the DMV? That's the great debate.
God time for a couple more songbacks.
Speaker 9 (11:39):
I don't think any shoun over seventy should have to
take the test again.
Speaker 8 (11:44):
I'm close to seventy, and I know I couldn't do
the test.
Speaker 11 (11:48):
I'm a very careful driver.
Speaker 9 (11:49):
I've got a good driving record.
Speaker 11 (11:51):
I think if there's a problem with their their driving
accidents and stuff, yeah, make them take a test again.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
But I think I got a good driving record.
Speaker 11 (11:58):
Why make them do it just because there's seventy?
Speaker 4 (12:01):
That's ages It is a little agis.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
That's why I think a lot of people are letting
that show this morning. They know they're like, oh, but
we'll all be there eventually one day. Got time for
one more talk bag.
Speaker 8 (12:12):
Here morning, Christy.
Speaker 7 (12:14):
They should have a test to see how well they
cope and how confident they are and sounds biased to
be fair, I was at a stop sign the other day.
Women drove on the wrong side of the road to
turn and smash straight into me and then say she
was simply doing a left turn, didn't even know where
she was. I'm not saying all people over seventy are
(12:34):
like that, but a competency test should be there.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
All right, Well, thank you so much for the lovely
talk back.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Okay, so the votes are in, Producer Karina. Where do
people stand on this morning is great debate?
Speaker 4 (12:50):
Christy.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
I was surprised they said leave the seniors alone, that
they shouldn't have to take a test.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
I think a majority of people said that people should
take it.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
I think there's a few people who came in at
the inn and said, you know, hey, leave us alone.
If we're getting older, maybe you might have to take
a driving test for proficiency or a word, the competency, competency,
efficiency socabulary test. But oh man, just be safe on
(13:24):
the road, no matter what age you are. And if
my mama is driving, Miss Ruthie.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Just pick up the pace class kids one three point seven.
Time to play Gimme five.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Angela's in the hot seat this morning. Karina's gonna give
you a category and all you have to do is
give us five things in that category for your chance
to take over as the Gimme five champion.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
I'm ready. I like that clock.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Starts when I say go, Karina, if you would do
the honors, please, Angela give us five ice cream.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Go Briarsen and Jerry's Kirkland's.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
Coldstone Creamery.
Speaker 12 (14:10):
I'm back and Robin, oh my girl, you better say
Coldstone or something.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
And you know, when you have brands, you gotta shout
out Kirkland because they make everything.
Speaker 8 (14:26):
It's like, hey, god, it's an easy one.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
You're the champion. Angel Let's step up to the mic.
Who do you want to shout out this Wednesday?
Speaker 9 (14:34):
I would like to shout out my lovely thirteen year
old daughter, Haydn, who's sitting right next to me.
