Massachusetts families are dealing with record levels of food insecurity, and record levels of inflation are only making the situation worse. One in ten people here in Massachusetts aren’t getting enough healthy food – and when it comes to children, that number is even higher. The Greater Boston Food Bank has teamed up with Boston Medical Center on a new effort to raise money to put more meals on the table around the Commonwealth, and you can help with your car! Justin Williams, VP and Chief Development Officer at Boston Medical Center, and David Giagrando, Senior Director of Development at Greater Boston Food Bank, join Nichole to talk about their new “Stop Hunger” license plate, and explain how you can be one of the first to get one. For more than 50 years, Pine Street Inn in Boston has been helping to provide housing and critical services for unhoused people in the Hub. A major focus in recent years has been providing permanent supportive housing in the Boston area and support staff for those in need. Executive Director Lyndia Downie talks with Nichole about their latest efforts to do so in a market where housing costs are skyrocketing. She also has details on the non-profit’s upcoming “Home Remedy” fundraiser.
