(00:00):
Congress goes on a field trip toNew York. Cabinet members make a stunning
display of ineptitude, and the presidentfails to count to eight. We have
some really unbelievable Did they really justsay that moments this week? I'm Nancy
Shack. Math is hard. I'mBen Parker. You're trying to insult me
(00:31):
like I'm not aware of what's goingon right, thank you. That's why
I walked away from the plantation ofthe Democratic plot. Can you please define
for me what is a woman? Our focus at the department is to provide
equal access to students, including studentswho are LGBTQ, access free from discrimination.
What's the definition of a woman?You haven't given me that. I
(00:52):
think that's almost secondary to the importantrole that I have as Secretary of Education.
My question secondary, My question isvery simple. What does HHS say
the definition of a woman is?No, the average tax rate they pay
eight eight percent? Eight percent.I think that's a percent, not eight
(01:15):
percent. You don't put the ton the end. That was our feeler's
leader who can't spell eight. Weshould play the whole cut. Just everybody
gets in. It's without being inthe introduction. He literally cannot spell the
word eight cut three. We havea thousand billionaires in America. Know the
average tax rate they pay? Eighte i g. Eight percent, eight
(01:38):
percent. I need to know whatto do with itself. Eh Old McDonald
had a farmer. This is thisis what's happening here? This and tell
me what you what you think ofmy theory? I think you know,
well, maybe I should play thiscut person and then ask you about the
theory. President Biden has been askedon more than one occasion if he's running.
(02:01):
His response is I'm not announcing yet. I'm running, but I'm not
announcing, which is makes absolutely nosense. It contradicts each other. He
was asked on Easter Sunday by AlRoker, which we played, and he
was also asked at the airport cominghome from Ireland Cut eighteen whether the last
few days had came their calculus orwhen you make an announcelment plan. No,
(02:23):
no, no, no, I'vealready made that count for us.
We're all announcement grolatively soon. Butthe trip here that's reinforced my sense of
optimism about what can be done.So you've made it. Addict. I
told you why a plan is arun again, getting a little pissy there
isn't he But here's my theory. Can you tell me what you think of
(02:45):
this? I think he hasn't announcedyet, even though he keeps telling people
that he's running, because the DNCis second thinking this. They're going,
do we want Biden for our Imean, the guy couldn't spell eight,
so maybe they thought they'd have moretime before he slipped down dimensional lane,
or maybe they didn't, but Ithink that they're now thinking there might be
(03:05):
a better candidate. Can he makeit through to twenty twenty four? Maybe
we should pick someone else? Andnobody's told him yet about that, so
he keeps saying yes, but Ican't announce yet. I mean, it's
as good a theory as Eddie.By the way, the other two candidates
for the Democrats who are already haveannounced, don't exactly lay the world on
fire, Marion Williamston and RFK Junior. By the way, the thing about
(03:28):
RFK Junior, and I don't knowhim personally, so I mean, I'm
just I'm saying this is observational. So his family apparently thinks he's cuckoo.
I mean they he even referenced itwhen he made his announcement how how crazy
and crazy is probably not the rightword, but how far out there do
you have to be for the Kennedy'snot to like you as a Kennedy like
(03:51):
because they always rally around all theKennedy's. Right, Kennedy's have always rallied
around Kennedy's. This particular one,the son of Senator Kennedy who was asassinated
uh is running for president and hisfamily man well, because he's strayed a
little bit from the Democratic plantation toput them to use the term that that
(04:12):
the first cut that we heard umin the which we'll get to from the
New York the New York Field tripthe US Congress went on. But but
he's more, this particular Kennedy ismore about government overreach and stopping it,
which doesn't really fit in with theDemocrat platform. The funny thing is about
this, and this is why Isay this. You know, Kennedy's have
always rallied around Kennedy's. Um,You've got people who have killed people in
(04:33):
car accidents, who've been accused ofrape, who've been accused of all sorts
of things, who were you know, cheating on their spouses and the Kennedy's
almost almost always rally around those people. Yeah, so what what the hell
did Robert F. Kennedy Junior doto make them run like he had the
plague? I don't know, youknow, And he's not, he's not
hasn't exactly been in line with hissiblings on a lot of issues, including
(04:56):
Sirhan Sirhan who who murdered his dadright um and came up for parole recently.
He was vehemently against parole. Hedid not want Sir hanswer Hann out,
but he had siblings who are like, yeah, it's been a time,
let him out, and he's like, what that. So he's he's
gone a different road on a lotof issues from his from his kin,
Robert Kennedy would would rather get avaccine than see Sir Hand Sir Hand freed.
(05:18):
And that's saying a lot. That'ssaying so much because Robert Kennedy Junior
does not like vaccine any other it'snot just antiacts came out of the woodwork
for the for the COVID vaccine, but they're okay, oh yeah, well,
because he doesn't like any vaccines asfar as I know, he doesn't
like government mandated, Max. That'swhat. He doesn't like government overreach,
(05:40):
like the government mandated anything. Andhe really doesn't like doctor Fauci, which
well, yeah, I guess yea, so yeah, this is not your
dad's Kennedy, Robert fy Um.There are a lot of people who I've
I've talked to who are independents whoare offered voting for Robert F. Kennedy
in the Democratic primary, thinking thatto stick one of the eye President Biden,
(06:01):
because if you're an independent Massachusetts, you can vote in either either.
And they figured nobody's going to votefor a Republican in Massachusets, so let's
screw around with the Democratic primary. That's what I'm hearing. That's what I'm
hearing. President Biden is not theonly one these days who's missing a step,
as you heard, and you know, as we played, you know,
the eight conundrum, his whole cabinetbasically, and and high level Dems
(06:27):
this past week. Just that theseare just from this past week can't get
out of their own way. Theylook like bumbling idiots, and considering the
fact that they're supposed to be surrogatesfor a president who's missing a step to
begin with, this is not lookingwell for him. This is another reason
why I think the DNC may berethinking putting Biden out there, because his
cabinet members are not making a goodshowing either. I want to give you
(06:49):
some examples. This is deb Hayland. She is the Biden's Interior secretary,
and she was at congressional hearing andshe starts crying over climate change at a
hearing. Cut one A. Ireally do have to say that all of
this is because climate change is thecrisis of our lifetime. We have an
(07:13):
obligation to future generations to make surethat we have a planet for them to
live on. And that's why I'mhere, and that's why I'm working incredibly
hard to make sure that we canrealize that transition, that we can have
different, differing energy sources. Wecan't continue to be a one industry country
(07:33):
choked up there. I think itshould be a requirement of cabinet secretaries of
that don't start sobbing at a congressionalhearing. I'm not I'm not totally opposed
to anyone, including but not limitedto people in government having emotion. But
yeah, I mean, yeah, yeah, I'm not against people having emotions.
This is a professional situation in frontof a congressional hearing, and nobody
(07:56):
asked her did her dog get runover? Right? And so it's like,
oh my god, would you geta grip? I mean, this
is a cabinet secretary. I thinkI think maybe I'm wrong that there was
a little dramatic effect there. Itwas done, done for a dramatic effect.
I mean sometimes, you know, like if I talk about my grandfather
who passed away when I was young, Um, you know, sometimes I'll
get a little choked up. Sure, But if I'm talking about rich crackers,
(08:20):
Um, I'm not. The onlyway I'm getting choked up is if
I'm trying to get like like I'mdoing it for dramatic effect, well or
just just to make you like ifI don't have any rich crackers at home,
and it's just it's really it's beentough for me and I can't you
know, maybe this weekend I canget some rich crackers, you see.
So I mean, so, Imean, you can do it for dramatic
effect if you want to. Idon't know if that was real or crocodile
(08:43):
tears, but whatever, I lookpretty real to me. It off cut
to be if you would is anothercabinet member. Can you please tell me
or can you please define for mewhat is a woman? Our focus at
the department is to provide equal accessto students, including students who are LGBTQ,
access free from discrimination. Is that? So, what's the death?
(09:07):
What's the definition of a woman?You haven't given me that, you haven't
answered my question. I think that'salmost secondary to the important role that I
have as Secretary of Education. Myquestion is not secondary. My question is
very simple. What is the depth? What does h Chess say the definition
of a woman is? I leadthe Department of Education, and my job
is to make sure that all studentshave access to public education, which includes
(09:31):
co curricular activities. And I thinkyou highlighted pretty well the importance of Title
nine and giving students equal access, whether it's scholarship and facilities. No,
he's not going to answer your question. So I mean that was the Department
of Education unable to tell you whata woman is? Here? This one
just kills me. This is thehead of the ATF the Alcohol to Background
(09:54):
of Firearms not able to answer whatis an assault weapon? At a hearing
cut twenty seven in fifteen seconds wouldyou define an assault weapon for me,
So if you go after fifteen seconds, I'll just interrupt you. So I'll
go shorter than that, because Ihonestly, I do think that's a if
Congress, which is to take thatoff. I think Congress would have to
do the work, but we wouldbe there to provide technical assistance. I
(10:18):
unlike you, I'm not a firearmsexpert to the same extent as you may
be, but we had people atatf who can talk about velocity of firearms,
what damage different kinds of firearms cause, so that whatever determination you chose
to make would be an informed one. That's the guy who's in charge of
enforcing all the gun laws in theUnited States can't can't answer what an assault
(10:39):
weapon is. It's hard to say, yeah, apparently so obviously hard to
say hearing already, what the hell? Yeah? Maybe hard to say for
for a regular person because a lotof people do not know the difference between
a handgun and a rifle. Butit's not right alcohol, I'd like you
see, firearms is part of thename, right, yeah, the right,
(11:00):
right, Yeah. So that's whyit doesn't make sense. Clearly,
if you asked your neighbor next doormaybe he wouldn't or he or she wouldn't
be able to give you a properanswer. But you run an agency that
ends with the firearms, you shouldhave some common knowledge about I don't know,
maybe alcohol, tobacco and firearms.I'm just I'm just throwing it out
(11:20):
there. Maybe maybe I'm wrong. You know, you know it's I understand.
I am just gobsmacked by the President'scabinet and the other people he's put
into position. This is Secretary ofTransportation Pete Budajig who says the traffic fatalities
happen because of racism. Cut nineA. We've got a crisis when it
(11:41):
comes to roadway fatalities in America. We lose about forty thousand people every year.
It's a level that's comparable to gunviolence, and we see a lot
of racial disparities. Black and brownAmericans, tribal citizens, and rural residents
much more likely to lose their lives, whether it's in a car or as
a pedestrian being hit by a car. There are a lot of reasons related
(12:05):
to discrimination, related to even theways that roads are designed and built.
Who has access to a safe streetdesign that's got crosswalks and good lighting.
Who doesn't have that access that candrive disparities, and we have a responsibility
to act on that. This iswhat he's spending his time on. OMG,
(12:26):
this is what he's doing instead ofpaying attention to say I don't know
the airline industry. Southwest Airlines melteddown again this week and had to basically
ground their force for a number ofhours. Nationally, he's worried about racism
in roads, and that's not alwaysworried about here. This is a wonderful
one. This is a Democrat congressmanby the name of Rosa de Laro.
(12:50):
She's from Connecticut. She wants tothank Pete Boudijig for making an effort to
make female crash dummies honest to god. CUT fifty six also plan to make
important investments to address the roadway safetycrisis, including the critical funding that would
accelerate the development. And this isan area I've I've written to you about
(13:11):
of the use of female dummies andcrash testing. This will start to fight
the gender inequity among vehicle safety andcrash victims. I cannot tell you how
relieved I am Secretary of Transportation insteadof instead of shoring up our transportation issues
in gard to supply lines because youstill can't buy baby formula. No,
(13:33):
he's spending time and making sure thereare female crash dummies just you know,
gets you right here? Well thereshould be. Yeah, well I've always
said that, but still that thisthis is another one. By the way,
I gotta say this. I wasgoing to not say it. I
was going to take the high road, and then I said, you know,
screw, I'm gonna just go rightdown again. I did find it
somewhat amusing. Please don't write letterswhen she said female dummies, female dummies?
(13:58):
Lay you? What the yeah?Anyway, I agree with you,
It just that please no, no, I understand why you couldn't help yourself.
I do. I completely almost listen. I should get half credit because
I almost took the high road. But that was good. That was good.
So now we have Monica Medina. She's Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans
(14:22):
and International Environment Affairs. Okay, now can you say tone deaf? Because
this woman went on television and didan interview where she says that we should
be happy about the lockdowns because pollutionwent down and people became more aware of
nature. Honest to God, cutthree A and you know, a lot
(14:43):
of people during the pandemic woke upto this fact all over again, you
know, because they were home andwhen they went outside, they really appreciated
how much they enjoyed getting to bein the environment more days than they would
if they would have been in theoffice. And in fact, we saw
pollution levels go down, and peoplewent, huh, my quality of life
is a little bit better now thatI don't have to worry about whether it's
(15:05):
a code red day for smog orair pollution. So people did become more
aware and it's a great time forus to be thinking about this. Earth
Day reminds us, but it's somethingwe need to be thinking about every day.
Every day can be Earth Day.Huh. So we're thinking how wonderful
this is as we've lost our jobbecause the restaurant where we used to work
(15:26):
is now closed, and we can'twork out at the gym because that's closed,
or go to church because that's closed. And my two year olds are
driving me crazy. And I don'teven have a yard because I live in
a high rise in an urban area. But I should be grateful for the
lockdown because pollution went. I'm I'ma big fan. I mean, I'm
encouraging the world to have a pandemicevery handful of years, just to you
(15:48):
know, smooth things out, eventhings out there, clear out the dead
wood, so to speak, andthe fog and the smag and everything else.
Yeah. I mean, it's nota big deal if half the businesses
go out of business. But ifwe could just throw a pandemic in every
that of a decade or so,yeah, but we could clear out everything
pretty nicely. I think you're good, by the way, because smog and
all of the things that are inour atmosphere are going into our atmosphere is
(16:11):
a big, a big stick,a big point for the climate change people
and the global warming, global cooling, whatever um. That should be their
solution. I mean, forgive mehaving to drive an electric car. We
should just loose a pandemic on theworld every ten years, and we'd fix
all the problems. I know, the got to help you to doctor Fauci,
is your man excellent? Yeah, that is exactly how to do that.
(16:32):
And we'll have to figure out whatit should it be every decade,
every two decades, every year,or maybe maybe we would just have an
ongoing pandemic with a different virus. As soon as the lockdown ends, put
another one in, put another onein. Yeah. Maybe give people like
six months just to go out andstretch their legs and appreciate nature. Yeah,
and then they can go back insideagain. From the two you're gonna
buy the way I'm gonna rin forpresident on that platform. It's it's going
to be the pandemic Party. You'vegot my suppart about that. Yeah,
(16:52):
I'm there with ya. I likeit. Yeah, no kidding. No
letters, by the way, thatwas that was sarcasm. I can see
the letters pouring a stop. Pleasestop that. So a lot of fun
was had this week in New Yorkwhen the US Congress took a field trip.
They went to Jim Jordan was leadingthe Judiciary Committee. They went on
down to New York because they wantto talk to Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg,
(17:18):
because Alvin Bragg has been very busygoing after former President Trump with an indictment
that many people say can't hold waterand it looks like a waste of time
and public resources. But the biggerissue for the Congress, it would appear
to be that while he was doingthat, Alvin Bragg was doing that.
He was not prosecuting crime in NewYork, so the crime statistics were going
(17:41):
through the roof while he was spendingall his time being a political activist against
a gentleman President Trump who's actually running. I already declared candidacy for twenty twenty
four, So it seemed to bea little bit of a witch hunt,
but it was fascinating. The HouseJudiciary Committee started by publishing this video cut
(18:03):
six just days on the job,Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is changing how
some crimes will be prosecuted. Hesays he'll stop seeking prison sentences for some
criminal charges and will downgrade some felonycharges. A brutal attack on a woman
walking down the sidewalk, not tothe ground with a single punch or attack
(18:26):
or arrested forty times before the lastfive hours, you've had three shooting incidents
in northern part of Manhattan in lessthan forty two hours. In the city
over the weekend, five men werefatally shot or stabbed across three boroughs.
It was a violent holiday week andaround the city, leaving five people dead.
(18:47):
So, and you know, I'mnot even talking about why you have
a produced video starting a hearing.I understand why they did. They were
just trying to save time. Andthe Democrats started with this produc thing,
I mean the other ones who hiredany producer to produce the January six hearings.
But that sets the premise of whatthey were there for. So then
you have various Democrats coming up tothe microphone and trying to turn this around
(19:11):
to make it look as if thiswas a witch hunt, asking Alvin Bragg
about the lack of criminal prosecution inNew York. And it was fascinating to
me because I don't think that theDemocrat members were prepared for the ire of
the public that had gotten into thehearing, who were there in the galleries
to watch what was going on.They were not happy. This is Congressman
(19:33):
Adam Schiff, and he had abit of a difficult time and apparently he's
a scumbag. According to the audiencecut eight. The GOP leadership in Congress
doing what it has done best forthe last six years, and that is
to act as the criminal defense counselfor Donald J. Trump. Well,
let me tell you this. Letme tell you this. Capitol Police General
(19:59):
will suspend police, Capitol Police willremove the gentleman from the audience. Tell
you this, Let me tell youthis, gentleman, gentlemen, let me
tell you this. Let me tellyou this, Donald J. Trump.
(20:23):
Until we got an order, gentlemanWilson Span the audience has to be.
That has to be an order CapitolCapitol Police to us congressionally here, I
mean, they were upset. He'snot the only one that was called the
task. Here's Congressman Jerry Nadler ofNew York Cut nine and Lower Manhattan.
(20:48):
For one reason, and one reasononly. The chairman is doing the bidding
of Donald Trump Committee Republican to intimidateand deter the duly elected district attorney in
Manhattan from doing the work is constituentselected him to do. Yeah, wow,
is right. And the interesting thingabout Nadler is before he went into
(21:10):
the hearing, he declared that crimewas not on the rise in New York.
It wasn't on the even though ifyou look at New York's own statistics,
crime is on the rise. No, no, god happening. Well,
but going on, you can youcan disagree if you want about why
crime is on the rise. Youknow, everybody's got their own opinions.
Of course, the Republicans one thingand then because the other and blah blah
(21:30):
blah blah blah. But crime ison the rise, So let's at least
get can we are we at sucha point? Can we at least admit
that? Well that what I'm sayingis that they can't agree with anything,
like, oh, you say it'son the rise, We're gonna say it's
not on the rise, even thoughit is. We're just gonna say it's
not because we like to be argumentativewith you. It's look again, how
you're getting there, How you're whycrime is rising. Sure, there can
be debates about but crime is rising. Yeah, okay, So also there
(21:55):
who wanted to have his two centswas Congressman Hank Johnson. Love Hank Johnson
cut eleven. This is a shamhearing. It's not about crime in New
York. It's an effort to impedeand ultimately suppress the prosecution of Donald Trump.
And if you don't believe it,then all you need to do is
(22:18):
connect the dots. First, ManhattanDistrict Attorney Bragg announced his criminal charges against
ex President Trump. Then House JudiciaryRepublicans abuse their power by subpoenaing testimony and
records from DA Bragg about the ongoingprosecution. And next they'd bring this sham
(22:42):
hearing to Manhattan, supposedly about crime. But if my colleagues across the hour
we're really concerned and really cared aboutreducing boling crime, they'd work with Democrats
to past common sense gun laws. They have worked to past common sense laws.
But there's a difference between gun lawsand ownerous gun laws. And here's
(23:03):
the thing. Everything that he justsaid would have more weight if he weren't
the congressman that had said this cuteleven C. I don't know how many
squirrel miles that that is. Doyou happen to know? I don't have
that figure with me, sir.I can certainly supply it to you if
you'd like. Yeah, my fearis that the whole island will become so
(23:32):
overly populated that it will tip overand and cap size. We don't anticipate
that. Oh my god. HankJohnson thought that Guam could tip over if
more people went went there. Andthat's why I don't quote islands. I
did go to a Ruba, butI was I was afraid the thing was
(23:52):
going to tip over, and soI tried to stay in the middle to
balance it out, you know, like like on a do they make you
give your weight before you step onboard? Well, well they do.
But I tried to get I triedto get away from the edges so that,
you know, I could maybe doa little balancing like he might do
on a I don't know if you'restanding on a rubber raft in a pool.
So that was doing that because Ididn't want to rub it a tip
over while I was there. Andthe admiral who was who was on the
(24:14):
hot seat there, oh my god, God bless him. He didn't snark
or chortle or laugh out loud.He just tried to be as dignified as
possible to say, we don't anticipatethat happening, and got out of there
as fast as he possibly could. But that that's the US congressman who says,
connect the dots, listen, Um, we don't expect Guam to tip
over anytime soon. But you know, here's the thing, and I've said
(24:36):
this before, the government does sometimeslie to us. So how would I
know if they're telling the truth aboutan island tipping over or not tipping over.
It's a little scary. I meanmaybe I should just stay on solid
ground. I think that's for everybody, that you stay in solid ground.
Maybe, yeah. Now, Andand the other question I would have,
um is if Guam could tip over? Yeah, obviously smaller islands could over,
(25:00):
but what about bigger I mean, could Australia tip over a whole continent?
Well, I mean it's an island, it's a big island. It's
a continent. It's a big it'sa big body of land continent. Yes,
I just wanted to because I haveyou know, what gives do some
research on it. Yeah. Thereare all sorts of questions out there,
just procolating around, trying to helppeople. The best, the best cut
(25:23):
though of the hearing was a motherby the name of Malon Brain. She's
a mother of a homicide victim inNew York City where Alvin Bragg let her
two kids killers go. Decided notto prosecute them, even though there was
video of them killing her son.Chose not to do it, and she
is, as you can imagine, beside herself. So at one point Congressman
(25:47):
Dan Goldman um at the hearing wasMan's plaining to her, talking down to
her as to why you know itwas okay for brag to do this,
and she lost it and everybody islost it with her cut thirteen. Your
your experiences are devastating. But theproblem is is that this is a charade
(26:07):
to cover up for an abuse ofpower. That they are going around talking
incessantly outside of this hearing about DonaldTrump, and the purpose of this hearing
is to cover up for what theyknow to be an inappropriate investigation. Now
I look forward many of you canI respond to not right now because I
(26:29):
only have twenty seconds. I'm sorry, but I do want insult my intelligences.
You're trying to insult me like I'mnot aware of what's going on right
thank you? Okay, fail youaware of what's going on here, gentleman
gets another fifteen seconds. Thank you. That's why I walked away from the
plantation of the Democratic Body. Idon't think that went the way that Congressman
(26:56):
Goldman thought it. No, notquite. It was extremely There are a
lot of impressive moments, but itwas, you know, it was a
show hearing. I mean, hewent to New York for a reason to
make it easier for these people totake part in the hearing. But I
find it interesting that these Democratic membersare outraged to show hearing when all they
(27:17):
did was show hearings when Donald Trumpwas in the White House and in the
past two years. So they're theones that let the genie out of the
bottle. And in this particular case, there is an underlying issue that is
sound, and that is crime wentup in New York. Alvin Bragg has
let people go. He has saidhe's not going to prosecute a low level
crime, which has just increased leapsand bound since he got there. And
(27:40):
he has spent time and resources goingafter a political opponent essentially so and now
he only that he ran on goingafter him. He ran for office on
that. So there's a lot ofsound issues in the hearing, even if
the hearing itself seems to be alittle bit of a circus, which it
was, without a doubt, itwas a circus among politicians. It was
(28:02):
a circus. It was a circus. I know. Let us know what
you think of what the Judiciary Committeeis doing. Are the Republicans going too
far? Are they emulating their Democratbrethren, or are they striking new ground
When it comes to misuse of power. That's kind of like the question that
I see out there. Now,you can let us know. You can
(28:26):
let Ben and I both know onnews Bite at Twitter, so actually it's
