(00:00):
What us seven nine k BP.I as promised, we have bad omens
on the phone, Jolie joins us. Now, hey man, thanks for
taking a minute to uh to talkto us. I'm certain you know when
you get up in the morning theysay, hey man, you got a
bunch of radio interviews. It's not, you know, on the highlight list
of things you enjoy doing. Sothanks for taking a couple of minutes to

(00:20):
peel the curtain back, man.And what a great just run you guys
are in. We can't wait. You guys are coming to town. Man,
How does that? How does thatfeel for you guys? And what's
this tour like? What's it?What's it like getting back out of the
road with this particular lineup? Well, first of all, thank you for
having me on. And oh youmean the lineup coming up now or that

(00:41):
when we were just on or yeah, well obviously we got gosshmack prevail you
guys Fame on Fire, you knowthe show coming up next Thursday. We're
super excited about it and I'm justglad you know we get you guys in
on the bill on the in themix. Hm no, yeah, super
super stuff to about that one.We haven't played with all of those fans.

(01:02):
We have definitely definitely played with godsmarks. I'm really looking forward to
that. That's gonna be really cool, yeah man, I mean they draw
a huge They're not as big inEurope, but they draw a massive crowd
everywhere they go, you know,in this country, and that to me,
they're kicking things off, you knowhere in Colorado. That's gotta be
a cool lineup for you guys tobe on, just because so many fans

(01:22):
will be there early and you know, as you guys know, man,
more fans you get in front ofjust judging by the response of most of
your music, man, they loveit. You make new fans every venue
you go to and that's got tobe kind of exciting for you guys.
Yeah, absolutely, absolutely, andyeah, it's really good to be able
to play in front of, youknow, goss match people and hopefully get

(01:44):
some of those people listening to ourstuff. That's like how how things work.
So we're really looking forward to it. The whole thing. So when
you guys, you know, areleaving, how do you get the how
do you get on a lineup likethat? Like you guys, is that
you're label that's trying to put issueor do you guys have any say in
it? Do you guys ever? You know, like, hey, man,
can you try and get us onthis this particular show or run run

(02:07):
of shows? Like how do youguys maneuver that? Yeah, that's like
a little mix of everything. Ifwe have certain wishes or like we really
want to do this, and thenat the agency management we'll know. But
you know that that's their job. They're definitely always out there fishing for offers
or whatever and the and then thatwhatever they think is will suit us,
this will we'll reach us unless, like I said, we have certain wishes

(02:28):
and stuff. But yeah, that'slike a whole other, whole other spectrum
of the music business. Yeah, right under the layer of it. Well
obviously, man, you know we'repounding just pretend and it's going over huge
here. It's it's one of thosethings where I feel like a lot of
people are excited, you know, new music in a way it connects with
people. Um, it's it's alwayssuch a cool thing to watch and witness,

(02:53):
especially you know your core fans thatwill be there, you know here
at this Fillers Green show. Andit's kind of a it's almost bragging,
right, So you know when you'reone of the first, you know to
see a band and you see himagain and the crowd is bigger, and
then we see him again, it'seven bigger. One day you see him,
you know, full on with alltheir support acts. You could be
like, yeah, I was therefrom the get go, because as a

(03:15):
as a younger band, you gotSpeck's been around for three decades. As
a band that's really you know, kind of came on their own in twenty
fifteen, twenty sixteen, it's gotto be seems like pretty fast paced.
I'm sure it doesn't feel like thatfor you, but for a lot of
bands that they dream of that no, no, I understand what you mean,
like can take it can take forever, and it's it's literally never too

(03:38):
late. A band can be playinglike kind of underground for twenty years and
it's become huge chapter twenty one. That's literally how it can work. Sometimes.
We've just really, really really focusedthe last I've ever since we started
the band, it's kind of beenour only thing we've doing, Like you
know, I really didn't have anyjobs from the side and so to speak,
but just that's all we've been doingand he just started paying off after

(04:00):
the X amount of years and wegot better, you know, as we
were doing it as well, becausewe were starting producing or all albums and
whatnot, and we just got betterdoing it. And then yeah, I'll
just see I wouldn see there thereturn of that focus. I got a
little bit now on this last album. The kind out really good and people
really seem to agree with it,you know. Yeah, man, that's

(04:21):
always really cool and like I said, just cool to watch your witness.
Um, as you guys kicked thisthis tour off, are there people in
your past that maybe told you,you know, a rock band wasn't the
best idea because I mean, justdoing radio, dude, my dad had
problems and issues with it. Iimagine being a rock band was a bigger

(04:44):
sin than anything else. Man,I'm sure. But then the band maybe
people who've been saying that to us, But like none of my people or
like my family or friends was actuallynever said that to me. I just
knew that that was said that wasaligne to what I wanted to do,
and like, no one's really reallytold me to like go go get a
rich job. But I've always beenlike you know, before like like you

(05:08):
know, before things took off,it really had to make the ends meet
and we had to do other things, you know, like you know,
I come from home Overgainning, soI used to be a four plus operator
and tour on the side. Sothe steak to make things sense. So
I've been asking for forever. Soyeah, you know, it's it's not
just like you said. It looksfrom the outside like bad Olmens came in
this year and now they're like thisbig and it was very quick, but

(05:31):
at the end of the day,we were pretty season musicians underneath that,
you know. And for years I'vebeen other bands and and and so had
no I've been and we're like, you know, we were just and it
just came out really good. That'swhen we got together. Yeah. Man,
you know, it's the right chemistryand the right people when the reaction
is that fast, and it reallyhas been with you guys. Uh And

(05:53):
that's been cool to see, evenyou know, as a radio person on
this end, a lot of peoplereally feel your music in that connection.
How does how do the songs lyricallyget written? Who comes up with it?
Is that Noah or is that allof you? Collaborating. That is
definitely mostly Noah, so that thatwill write the lyrics. I do have
like maybe one song I wrote thelyrics song, and that is usually his

(06:16):
thing. And then we'll stay thoughand then when he's trying to get out
and stuff, he'll like, ifwe're in the same room while this is
happening, then he might be stuckup certain things, and then other people
will be like, well what aboutthis idea, and people will health embrace
things. But yeah, no,Usually it's very particular about his own vocals
and how it needs to sound, how he needs to like, what it
needs to mean, and you know, I really do take his time there.

(06:36):
Yeah. I saw online he releasedOh God, I follow you guys
socially. I think it was backin February, maybe mid February. Guys
released them just the vocal checks, the raw vocals to what are your songs?
And dude, that's amazing too, when you guys, when artists do
that. As just fans and listenerson this end, there is something powerful

(06:58):
and unique about the raw vocals comparedto like the song the songs, you
know, this polished piece of production, but the raw vocals you really connect
with the message and in the translationthat you hear in the bigger produced pieces,
it's kind of cool to hear that. M hmm. Yeah, just

(07:20):
I thought that a lot of bandsdon't really do that, So to me,
I was like, wow, that'spretty uh just pretty dope. You
guys decided to drop that on everybody. Yeah, no, I'm sorry,
I got lost in my head that. Sorry. Well, what's the first
thing we're talking about? Um,well, you know about about the raw
vocals? I said, I sawyeaheah, yeah, absolutely, yeah,
we released the raw vocals and howyeah, absolutely, And then also because

(07:43):
of how much time and and andand and after we did put into those
vocals, that made it really easyfor us like these are these are definitely
the best vocals we've ever recorded inour high live Yeah. And then and
yeah, you spent a lot oftime on it, so yeah, it
was really cool. And how he'sbe able to release that and to kind
of people want, you know, how it sounds underneath it all. And

(08:03):
then and at the same time,I think I want to do like the
reverse and release the instrumental so youcan really see what's going on. I
kind of want to release just thestems for people so they can get it
and be like, I want tolisten to everything soloed out because there's so
much stuff in there. We youknow, with the production and the details
and stuff like, there's a lotof belts and whistle that's going on that
you might not know it's there, but if if I mute it, you

(08:24):
will notice that something's missing. Yeah, right, Yeah, it's a whole
it's the whole thing. It's hilarious. Man. Well look we're we're super
excited. Man. Um, haveyou kim to Colorado before I come,
like once or twice right in somesmaller venues Yeah, yeah yeah in Denver?
Yeah absolutely, yeah. We pso when you come through in a

(08:46):
big one man, because this playedthis almost sold out right now, I'm
imagine there's gonna be a lot ofloud fans uh and their first opportunity to
see you guys and curas people getthere early. Um, I'm just looking
forward to seeing you guys step outon the stage. I think I'm the
one that's bringing you guys out actually, so uh, like I said,
big fan, thanks for your time. Man. Excited for you guys,

(09:07):
uh and this leg of the tourto see how many bad Owens fans.
Did you guys create just uh justdoing these this show in this leg.
So congratulations and now I look forwardto seeing you in uh in about a
