games coming up this week and excited to get at it.
Took a trip down to Maysville for a great game
the last Friday. So, man, that was quite the experience
getting down there in lad peoples.

Yeah, I know, what do you call it? Maysville?

Maysville? Yeah, they so, they they've got you know, the
Greater Mobile Area. Yeah, that stadium is located in the
neighborhood of Maysville.

I did not know it was located in Maysville. I
didn't know. It's a unique stadium. Now I understand everybody
acted right there.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Oh yeah, of course, no, it was. There was nothing there.
I mean, you would have thought half of Mobile County
Police was at that football I've did role, I'm telling you, man,
I rolled up to that thing, and he would have
thought the President was gonna show up.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
It was. It was. It was something, it really was.
But yeah, no, the game went off great, no extra curriculars,
not that you expect any but you've got such a
when you've got such a rivalry game like that, and
when you've got two teams that you know, yeah, there's

a lot of love between these teams, but there's a
lot of a you know, animosity as well from whatever.
You never know what could boil up. But the game
went off without a hitch. It ended up going overtime.
Williamson for fourteen to fourteen. Going overtime, Williamson scores a

touchdown with their four stars. Auburn commits safety Ellis mcgaskin
go for two. Viiger gets the football. They throw three
times in overtime and can't get the ball in the
end zone. Williams can win twenty two to fourteen, and
they'll be your five A Region one champ.

How about that?

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Yeah, game, it was great for them. They they've they've
had a Williamson boogie man for a little while and
I'm sorry they've had a Viger.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Uh yeah, I knew what.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yeah, they were able to finally get it done and
that's a that's a good deal for them.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Okay, all right, Well you missed a couple of good
games across the state. Including a fifty five yard bield goal.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
That's great, our buddy.

Yeah, yeah, that's you know that this seems to be
almost yearly occurrence for Thompson and you wouldn't think so,
but they lose. Yeah, like you said, fifty five yard
field goal from Hoover's James Bryant and what was that
thirty three to thirty was the final there. I went
back and watched that game the day after and man,

you know, Thompson just struggled a bit on third downs
and you know, couldn't keep couldn't sustain drives. The game
went back and forth. Hoover found a running game with
c J. Colly. You know, I mentioned before how big
of an X factor he was going to be coming
back off of his injury, and I mean, he really

showed it. But that's a really gutsy win for Hoover.
That's a great win for Coach English and those guys.
And you know, I'm sure they're they're hoping they can
beat ve Stavia this week because if not, then it's
looking like they'll be matched up with Central Phoenix City
in the first round with the way these playoff brackets

are coming out.

Yeah, Okay, if they need.

To beat they need to beat the Stadius so they
don't end up the four seeds because the Region three
four will play the Region two one and that'll end
up being Phoenix.

got two seeds. Then after that it's kind of who knows,
you know what I mean? Black and wins. They got
the three seed, but you know that's a big win.
That's a big if right there with don'd I think
they can certainly do it?

But absolutely, yeah, opalikahs in the mix. Carver is still
somewhat in the mix, will be the decider.

Yeah, you would have thought Enterprise that ought would already
be eliminated. But they've they've picked it up down the stretch,
and but they.

Need a lot together away, d Martin, They do, they do,
but they're still a lie. They want they did what
they had to do at the end, you know, all right,
what else on your mind? Glad?

Yeah, we had another really big one in Birmingham, maybe
a game not everyone was expecting. Homewood comes into a
Parker and ends up winning that game thirty five to
twenty eighth. And that's that's a really big win for Homewood.
You know, a team that was on Sports Center unfortunately

earlier this year losing to Mountain Brook on that two
point hail Mary, and they roll in there and they
pick up a really big win. They were up twenty
one to nothing in that game and we're able to
hold on and get a late touchdown, and that's a
really big win for Homewood. Another one that happened down

in the Mobile area. Theodore ends up beating Gulf Shores
as they're going to be they're going to secure the
two seed down there in six A Region one. And
then you had Prattville. Bobby Carr and his guys, they
keep rolling, They've got Thompson next week for their senior Night.
They end up beating pratt Vill ends up beating Hillcrest

Sclusive thirty eight to thirty one. So now it sets
up for Prattville if they beat Thompson somehow, some way,
if they can beat Thompson, they'll be the two seeds
in Region three. You know who saw that coming?

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Yeah? Not that's unreal.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Yeah no, they and we have some good games in
six day Clay Chalukville beats Oxford forty to sixteen. Really
good win for those guys. They they stay undefeated. And
then you have Heart Soul over Jasper seventeen to fourteen.
That one's setting up next week for Muscle shoals to

be undefeated and Heartsol to be undefeated. So really good
matchup there. That's probably the game I'll be at next week.

Got you? Got you? That is interesting anything in the
smaller schools, you see, there wasn't.

Much this week. You did have a few teams that
I've probably never talked about on here, and that's North
Stand Mountain and Pleasant Valley. North Stand Mountain undefeated for
the first time in a very long time. They only
let up nineteen points all year, but they ended up
falling to Pleasant Valley. And then he had Glenwood and

Yeah, so that glen Wood ended up winning that twenty

runs and another touchdown and another touchdown. Speed got Glenn

their final game of the year against Maryland.

that they uh that the Carver administration and coaches canceled
the game.

Really, yeah, that's a fine.

So they have to bump up their their seniors their
senior night to the Theodore game this week if they
don't have another one to play after that. So yeah,
really interesting situation there. I think Carver just looked at
the schedule and said, man, maybe not, maybe we don't
need to go to Mobile.

So you know they're not playing.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
That's right, That's that's what the Saraline High School Facebook said.

Yeah, that's tough. Where was that game at?

That game would have been at Sarline.

Yeah, I'm looking at it right now. That's Saralane's last.

That'll be only I believe, only eight games on the
year for Carver if I'm not mistaken. Now, No, it
should be nine games for Carver this year. And yeah
we'll get cut short, so that'll be nine games.

They got opal like in Cirland Left. I wonder why
if they if they if they lose against the Black,
I think they're out of the playoffs.

I think Enterprise just opened. Both of them lose and

So yeah, that's exactly right. That'll be an interesting interesting there,

We got Keith Ethers two games away from winning his
two hundreds win. We got Chambers Academy coach three wins
away from winning his two hundreds win. Jason Allen, that's
just little local stuff. You got anything for state wide?

Yeah? No, I want to talk about a few of
these three A matchups that that have some big region
implications and just some of the just some of the
top games around the state before I get out of here.
And uh, you're gonna have some big ones, like I
mentioned Hertzel and Muscle Shoals two of the I think
three No. Four remaining unbeaten six A football teams, and

they'll play each other up there in Hartzell. Let's look
at my Death where I'll see first time there. That
should be a really good game. And then you've got
Madison Academy in plain View with Dale Brewitt over there,
and he's got his playing view, bears undefeated in Class
four A. You've got base Side and P. R. Miller.

(11:45):
I believe that game is being played in Brutin, so
be the one there. And then you've got gerald Den
and Fife, which is always going to be a good
football game up there. Fight maybe I mean Week one
versus Maplesville. They struggled a ton, but they've been unbeaten
down the stretch. Big win over Pisga, so five seems

(12:09):
to be rolling again. Geraldine also six and one as well,
so we'll have to see how that one plays out.
Five won that game last year I believe forty two
to seven, so Geraldine can get back in the win
column there against the Red Devils. And you've got Central
Oklay County versus Tell City. Tell City is only a
two loss team that night, mightily improved. They they've done

a really good job there. So we'll see how Pell
City does against Central Klay and the winning of head
coach of all time here in Alabama. And then you've
got Hanley and Booker T. Washington. So it's a big,
big region implications for the playoffs. If Hanley wins, there's

a chance they can play Jackson in rounds. But if
Hanley loses, there's a chance they can play Saint Michael
in round too, So you kind of have to pick
who you want to play there. And I'm sure that'll
end up being a good football game between those two teams.
Beat Washington, two of the top players in the state.
They've got a really good tvat, a really good receiver.

But if there's one thing you need to know about
Hanley is I mean they're an old school football team. Yeah,
and they let you know at the iHeartMedia days. I
remember that. Yeah, they excited to see how that one
plays out. Blue collar, that's right, blue collar is what
they said.

Yeah, sure, blue collar baby, blue collar mentality, no doubt,
that's right.
