Speaker 1 (00:00):
Zero.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
Alrighty, we are back, We are back, We are back.

Speaker 3 (00:03):
I wonder everybody listening if you saw this gallup pole.
It was across national media and it had said this.
Twenty twenty five gallup pole found that forty percent of
US women between the ages of fifteen to forty four
would like to move out of the United States of

(00:23):
America permanently. And then if you look at it like this,
on the other flip side of that, comparatively speaking, nineteen
percent of men in that same age group fifteen to
forty four.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Said they wanted to leave.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
So we're talking at forty percent of women in that
age group fifteen to forty four they want to leave
the United States of America permanently, in nineteen percent of
men say they want to do the same.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Why.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
The reasoning is political polarization, concerns about personal.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Safety, well that would be okay, high cost of.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Living and health care okay, and a desire for better
quality of life and work life balance. Don't you where
where are they going to get that more than the
United States of America.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Well I used to think the same thing, but I
have a friend of a friend that he's a huge liberal.
I mean he hates this country.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
He has only now because of the Trump. He hates Trump.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
He hates Trump so bad.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
So he didn't hate it last year.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
He's hated it since Reagan. He's an older guy. I
think he's sixty. All right, go ahead, anyway, I didn't.
As we got talking, I wanted to run. I wanted
to move out the country talking to him, But he
has a place in Puerto Rico and he's paid for.
Puerto Rico is poor, and I asked him, I said,
we not really poor there. Oh, it's horrible. That's why
I want to livery. He goes. Everybody smokes weed and

(01:43):
drinks and loves each other, and we have you know,
there's no rules and laws and you know sexual activity.
He doesn't have rules. I'm going so you just want
to just do whatever in me? Well, so that's there
are people out there that it. I mean, that's just

(02:03):
there's the percentage of that you're talking maybe one hundred thousand.
I know a lot of goofballs. I know a law.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Then you look at it between the age of fifteen
and forty four. Life shouldn't be that bad. When you're
fifteen years old, Well, do you want to leave the country.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
It's just ridiculous gas prices, taxes that we pay. So
I do a story on honest morts. I'll don't take
us sixty seven Corvette sold new for say five grand,
not even that much part, but pay taxes on it.
If that car has been sold ten times now, that
car could be worth two hundred grand. It's bringing in
another sixteen grand. So that one car gave our government

(02:47):
one hundred thousand dollars to blow over its lifetime, and
our government does what with it? Stupid stuff.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
So are you in favor of Trump's tariffs?

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yes, I think they'll work.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
I think they'll work perfectly, I really do.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
I'm in favor of the two grand back. What I'm
in favor of you.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I don't want two thousand dollars. No, I mean I
don't want that.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
That's I don't want any check from the government.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Right that all these other countries were slapping tariffs on
the United States, And yeah, I don't.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
But why wouldn't we do that? I don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Well, because our politicians, in my opinion, are on the take.
If you if I let you put a tariff on
our stuff and you're kicking back my nephew, or to
take Biden for example, buying my son's painting for two
million dollars, where that stupid excapade was, that's it's all
sh It's all shady. The problem with politicians, all of them,
even the good ones that we love. The minute they

(03:34):
get into the swamp they realize that, wait, I can't
change everything. I said.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
I was one change involved, and then they say they
start parketing there.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
You know, money, You're a lot more religious than I am.
But what I can tell you is you know who
the devil is money. Money is evil people. You'll lose,
you will lose everything over money.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
I heard one of the best phrases the other day,
and I'm like, I gotta remember that.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
That is so good.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Normally God meant for us to love people and use things.
But what happens is people use people and love things.
So we're supposed to love people, use things, you know,
use your car, use your refrigerator, use things that you

(04:21):
need in life. But it has been reversed where now
people love things and they use people. I heard that
the other day. I'm like, oh my gosh, that's really
that's sad. That's sad that that happens in so many
people's lives, that you're just using people for your own benefit,
that you love more objects and more things than you

(04:42):
love actual people, but not you, apparently, because you've changed
your Facebook status. Threw me way off because I why
because I didn't think this was supposed to be out
of the bag.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Yet, well it is.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
And then I see.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
All over Facebook, dude's changed his status to quote in
a relationship. I looked at Randy and like, Randy, what
fifty seven year old man puts on Facebook?

Speaker 1 (05:06):
And they get Patriots coach? Once I got Patriots coach. Yeah,
I'm Boots Pelicheck. Hey, it is what it is. I'm
not I have I've waited a long time, as you know,
I've been I've been miserable for since that. I've been miserable.
And my best friend in the world, uh right hand guy.
I got a lot of best friends, but Dicky and

(05:28):
I are you know, he sometimes I want choking, but
I love him.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
That's because that's who you are.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
That's my dude.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
There's nobody in your life that you can say, oh,
they drive me now, there is so she never.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
So anyway, never ever, never drives you nuts. That's weird.
And this is the first time in my life.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Lieing Okay, yeah, you know, I'm so excited. I know
all the times to get in on this on the
conversation conversation. When I saw this on the lineup, I'm like,
you've got to be kidding me.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Sign me up this show? Can you see? This is Boots?

Speaker 1 (06:00):
What are you supposed to put? I can't help what
Facebook says it is.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
But it's funny. Because you cannot, you can also put
on there to not let it tell the world.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
That right, I'm not that smart? How do you do that?

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Boots again?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Got him? It's I do live. I do live in
nineteen eighty four.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
But hold on, Boots, we're talking about you, not with
you for right now, because Kyleen has known you her
entire life.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Kylie, let me ask you something.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
If this person who Boots is in a relationship with now,
if she didn't look a certain way like she looks
right now, do you think he would have let the whole.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
World know like that?

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Probably not, I agree with you. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Did you see all that?

Speaker 4 (06:36):
If she if she would have dressed like a zombie
instead of a nurse at Halloween I don't know.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
I'm pretty proud.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Did you see all the comments?

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Buddies?

Speaker 4 (06:46):
You her?

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Are you her grandpa? Does she know about the relationship.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
I'll kick my coverage.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah, you out kicked her coverage.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
But looking at him, I did.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
He's so proud of that.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
I'm so happy right now. You guys have no idea.
I am the happiest I've been in men.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
For younger women.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
They're beautiful. Sorry, hate me? Whatever?

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Do you believe Boots when he said you know things
she does that irritates him because he's lying.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
I've known you long enough. There will be something.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
I'm just saying.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
I don't nobody in Boots his life, and I know
me included. I drive Boots crazy, I know it.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
But that doesn't mean I love you though.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
That's the thing that we tell each other that Kylie.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
She goes from God, God, I'm quit it.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
God, who this is? No? This wasn't about me?

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Oh yeah, guy, you've had five or six serious relationships,
and I protect you like you're one of my own.
Of course, your dad and I would kill someone if
they hurt you. Yes, because I remember when he brought
her home in a little basket.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Okay, why is the perfect person.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
He right, but to see the first time she thought
you off.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
I get nine. I get irritated like everybody. But here's
my problem is I don't take a break. And you've
called me out on this because you and I know.
But when I sit around for two hours, I hate
myself because I'm like, what could I have got done
in the last two hours? Because that's what she pointed,

(08:22):
is pointed out to me, you need to slow down.
I feel like I'm talking to you because I don't
take a break. You know, I'm just like, well, it's
Sunday night. I should be you know, I got to
go over the shop because I could get that done.
I could get this done. I could go over to
the studio. I get this done. I get that done.
It's a it's my OCD or what's the new sayings?
Everybody gets one of my ADHD. If I was in

(08:44):
fifth grade now, I'd be so drugged up by being
a straight jacket because now that they put kids on
pills for everything, and I'd be Sambie, have you seen
me this happening? No?

Speaker 3 (08:53):
And I was going to say, you know, I am
all for sticking it out. You know, marriage is hard
work for most people. Randy and I, it's a little
bit different because he's so easygo. I mean, I lucked out,
luck took a head shot. I am all for you know,
you stick it out. People go into marriage too lightly,
you know, would have done work out and get a divorce,

(09:14):
and there's too many divorces.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I feel in my heart on the same token, fortunate.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
If you're not happy, you don't want to spend the
rest of your life being miserable, because then you make
everybody else in your circle miserable as well. You are
the happiest I've seen you in a while. But I
remember having this bet you you.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Want to put a bet, I'll bet you my thoulsand
into your hundred.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
That he's already betting on this relationship.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
My thousand hundreds.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
We've been down this road before, though. We know you bootsy,
don't we Kaylie Yes, yes, yes.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
And sometimes I said the same.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Thing earlier too, I said, you can take a break
for a minute.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Let's talk about Jody. Let's talk about my first wife.
You love Jody, sweetest, nicest person and the planet. Yes,
perfect way, perfect mother, high school sweeter, no me finish
high school sweetheart. She was one of the three prettiest
girls in my school. We didn't have much choose from,
but so and I liked her. I loved her father. Okay, now,

(10:24):
as time went on, we were very first sixteen years
was perfect. But then I had a daughter and I'm
not going to upset the apple cart for her. So
I sacrificed ten years of living miserable, not letting anybody
know because you didn't know, nobody knew.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
And then life is too short.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
But you can't. I hate when people go, well, you
can't just be miserable because if you have kids, that's
not true. I faked it for ten years, and when
Nikki I thought she was an adult enough to handle it,
the crap hit the fan. Sorry, No, I get it.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
I understand.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
We grew up heart right, and when you're a miserable
person in a miserable marriage, it does affect the kids,
so they see it right, absolutely, But you're fake.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
I'm I'm a salesman, so I'm easy to fake it.
Make it this.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
You could have the most perfect person.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
But knowing you like Kileen and I know you, there'll
be something along the way.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
No, I need someone to take you.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Common denominator don't common denominatory.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Put up with me? Put up with me because I'm
a handful. How long I been around you? Six seven
years now and you put up with me. We're totally
different interviews together. Oh you think that's all it is.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
We don't have totally different views on some things. A
lot of stuff, well, yes on a lot of stuff politically.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Like I know what boys think and you're like, no,
they don't go to do.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
We're husbands are different than real husbands, right.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
God, you locked out?

Speaker 1 (11:52):
You locked out on Randy. You locked out on Randy.
You really did in there with Randy.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
I thought he was gonna say you lucked out with Boots.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
All that too. You're lucky to have me in your
old But what I'm saying right there, we go to
break wait real quick though you it's hard. It's you
talk to people like some of your family members have
been divorced, so my family in but you, we look
up to you. I het did even say this?

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Give you a COMPLI if we.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Look up to you and Randy, but you accidentally got
the chemistry and what if that you didn't know? Listen,
you thought it, but what if something? What if Randy
would have been a typical male, and there was a
hot little teacher came into school.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
But I believe that God had me move to Lima
to meet Randy. That is what I believe, and I
will never God's.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
Playing fair enough. Well, maybe God's finally having memes see
my life.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
That doesn't look out for you, Boots.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Yeah, he likes I'm gonna fix his car when I
get up there, his old fifty sevens.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
For everything you've done in your path, he should very forgiving.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Because I'm a giver, not a taker. So all right,
we'll be back. We're way Ever breaks or were many
boots on these radio six ten WDDN

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
