Speaker 1 (00:02):
Thank you to all of our United States veterans. Such
an important, important job and you are appreciated. Fan butts
about it and boots. If there's one thing that you support,
you know, I'm very much animal causes, protecting animals and
animal cruelty. That's number one to me, but number one
to you is for sure, Yes, honor flight our troops.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, it's so with me too. Awesome.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
I got a charity that fits what I believe and
think in helping my father's legacy go on, you might say,
because my dad was a big veteran supporter, huge, huge,
and as we all should be. You know, I said
the other night on a microphone, Vietnam was a dumb
political war period. But the men and women they got
(00:53):
drafted and didn't turn into hippie idiots that went over
and did their tour of duties and what they were
expected to do right, wrong or different. There was still
no reason to disrespect them when they came home. That's
my issue with all of it. Jane Fonda, she's living
forever unfortunately, and that Hanoy Jane, she was a garbage
(01:14):
And when she comes on my television, I will fistfight
you for the remote I can't stand that woman.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
I think a lot of people feel your same way.
Did you, I don't know if you ever knew this.
And my dad was a United States Marine, Yes, son knew,
and he was in the Korean War, right, So it's
always a good place in our hearts too, in the
whole family. And you do love support our troops. My gosh,
think of where it would be if they weren't there. John,
A caller is on the line and John, it says,
has a question for you, booty boot Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Go ahead, John, I hope it's a good one.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
You do know everyone that wasn't drafted in the service.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
I do know that, and I should say that I
don't meet a lot of veterans. A lot of guys
said they wanted to be in a navy and they're
afraid they get drafted in.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Say the.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
No, if if you enlisted, you didn't have to worry about,
you know, getting drafted or whatever. But getting drafted and
being in the it's being in the service of your country.
It doesn't matter if you're drafted or not.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Shut And you're right. I should I should clarify that
you're right. And I do know that, and I apologize
for that. But yeah, because I get to meet all.
Have you been on on her flight yet?
Speaker 4 (02:29):
I have been to I've been to that wall. My
brother lives down there, So.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I'm glad you said that.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
But but, but, but the thing is, John, we take
you to all the all the the memorials. It's such
a cool day and if your brother wants to go,
it doesn't cost you a penny. And we treat you
guys like gold. And you know one thing I do
and uh, Beth and I came up a while ago.
I always go out of my way to interview the
(03:02):
men and women of color over because they dealt with
two issues.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Back in those days.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
Racism was horrible and they always horrible in the sixties.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Well, I don't know, I don't I don't know if
you're of color or not. But if you are.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Horrible, it was even horrible when my father went in
back in the forties.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, it's horrible.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
You're not telling me.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Anything, okay.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
So I go out of my way to make sure
I and those guys are the most appreciative.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Guys that are were appreciative.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
They appreciate it more than any There are all awesome
men and women don't get me wrong, but I always
go out of my way, and we make a point
of that because you were disrespected when you got off
the plane and you were of color, and America was
ignorant back then. But we make it up as best
we can. We really do.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
John, thank you for calling, and hopefully everybody will spend
some time really reflecting on why we celebrate Veterans Day
way we have it in the first place. And Boots
have about thirty seconds left on a flight. You had
a great turnout on Thursday, and there's another one coming up.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, we have one this Thursday now.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
With the shutdown right now, it was delayed about an hour,
but we kind of expected that we put it out there.
Beth text me and said, hey, Boots ahead of Honor flight. Yeah,
head of Honor Flight, Beth Johnson, and she says, hey,
we're having troubles where planes running.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Good blah blah blah blah blah. But the good thing
is most government workers that support that work for free
and still come out and help with Honor Flight.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
But we were delayed an hour, so typically our plane
lands eighty sh But we'll fingers crossed on this Thursday
and hopefully this weather moves out. Because we're pretty fortunate.
We've only been rained on maybe once or twice in
ten years.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Hopefully you'll have the day off schools. A lot of
schools are not closed for Veterans Day. They close for
so many different things, but not for Veterans Day.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
We had a caller, yes and open phones. They're not
having a Veterans Day paraded again, but they're.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Having the do doll stuff. See, that's that's crazy. I
have both. They're gonna have one. You have the other side.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
They buy a Whopper, Boots.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
I can't believe you named a girl dog Whopper, but
I like.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
It was named after my kid's favorite Halloween candy years ago,
about ten years ago. All right, what matters is coming
up next? Treat your family like friends.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Your friends like family.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
This has been rawed, Mini and Boots always brought you
by the protected and never been beat tattled. Why can't
I say I've said a thousand times from Harlem.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
