Speaker 1 (00:01):
Thank you, Michael Lane crack and falling to one the
other night to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a game
in which, once again, defensively, the structure was there. You
said in your postgame press conference that you'd like to
see more offense generated. Just take us through another strong
defensive performance that ultimately ended up in one point against

(00:21):
the Jackets.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yeah. Yeah, it was a good hockey game. You know.
We we did generate some things. We generated a lot
of shot attempts and have the last three games, you know,
but the one thing that we're you know, one thing
we're not doing, or the one thing we're noticing is
we're you know, and I say fraction to the seconds,

(00:42):
and I really do mean that, you know, tenth of
a second or you know, twentieth of a second, and
all of a sudden, you know, they get a stick
on the puck. And we've had the attempts, but I think,
you know, in the last three games, we probably had
forty eight percent of those shot attempts actually reached net.
So you certainly decrease your chances of scoring a goal

(01:05):
or if the fuck doesn't go on the net. My
dad told me when I was five years old Son
hit the net.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
One word that's kind of been thrown around the last
few days in the locker room abounks players has just
been simplifying, whether that's simplifying their individual game, simplifying the
offensive approach. From your perspective, how do you go about
generating more offense? Is it as easy as just simplifying?
Is it as easy as just throwing more shots on net?
What have you seen the last few games for Seattle?

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah, I think it can be. You know if I
if I didn't think we were getting into positions to shoot,
then I'd be really concerned. But I think we're getting
into those positions and then either a not shooting quick
enough or be looking for something better differring, so you know,
they hit it bang on. Simplify and simplify means put

(01:55):
pucks to the net when you get an opportunity, because
there's chances to do it.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Last few games, you've switched up some lines every now
and again, and last time we saw Shane right move
over to the wing. We saw Berkeley Catton back in
the middle. A two part question here, What did you
make of that line, the third line in particular, and
how have you liked Berkeley Katton's progression now through eleven
games in his career.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, I thought the line was pretty good, you know,
I thought they generated some stuff early on in the game,
you know, and for me, just the the continual progression
of what does it look like, you know, defensively, you know,
what are our reads coming back into Arizone. It's nice

(02:36):
to have a line that can generate offense. We also
have to be responsible defensively, and they were certainly progressing
in that in that manner.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
We saw Joey d'cord, we saw Freddie gadrou back on
the ice the last couple of days. How encouraged are
you by their progress? And can you share any updates
about maybe when they would return, Are they going to
be coming on the up becoming road trip for Seattle?
What can you share about that?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Yeah, Freddy's Freddy's getting close, really close. So that's really
a positive. Joey. We don't have any updates on Joey's
day to day.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Last time you played Winnipeg through nothing shut out in
their building. They've got a really strong, solid forward group.
What can we expect out of the Jets here this evening?

Speaker 2 (03:19):
A really good hockey team, you know, two world class forwards,
unbelievable complementary group with them. They've got Profetti back, a
great young player, and Adam Lowry is back is our
third line center. So it's a deep team. It's an
experienced team, a veteran team, and they they will challenge

(03:44):
us around the NetFront in our own zone.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
How can you combat that here tonight? Knowing that again,
trying to get more shots so than at trying to
beat a golten or in Cotter Hellibook. What's going to
be that game plan tonight for Seattle.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Well, you're not gonna beat Connor Hellibook unless you get
in front of them. And now you got to create
some some seconds. I guess if you look at the
winning goal last time I played them with Jayden Schwartz,
it was just a shot in from the from the
half wall by Shane Wright that wasn't even my opinion,
considered to be a chance. But what it did is
it created a rebound in a second chance, which was
an a chance, so you know, and we had traffic

(04:20):
in front of the net while it was going on,
so you know, you have to get in front of
him if he sees it he's gonna stop it. Okay,
all right,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
