Speaker 1 (00:00):
You gotta admit it's pretty cool that we have one
of the most remarkable feats of architectural engineering the world
has ever.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Seen at the center of our city. I'm talking about
the sphere.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Obviously, it's sunny One was six point five Las Vegas's
best variety of the eighties nineties, and today I'm Sean
and they're going to bring one of the most iconic
films of all time to the sphere, The Wizard of Oz.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Now.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
I saw the Aeronofski film Postcard from Earth when it
first came out, like in the first few weeks, this
sphere was open, remarkable. I've seen nothing since, none of
the concerts shows fights, but I will see this. They
have completely reformatted the film to take advantage of the
spheres technology. They're going to immerse you in the world
of Oz. You're gonna feel like you're living there. You'll

(00:42):
be in the Tornado with Dorothy. And it's not just
the visual experience, it's everything else in this sphere. You're
gonna have sound through your seats, vibration, you've got wind,
they're gonna pipe in sense, You're going to smell Oz.
I cannot wait for this. Somebody please go with me.
It starts August two, twenty eighth, and they're gonna have
multiple showings every day. It's Sonny one as six point

(01:03):
five Sonny six. Now I've never seen anything like this before,
but UNLV's football program is going to be hosting a
ladies clinic offering a unique behind the scenes football experience.
It's sunny when it was six point five. My name
is Sean and the Ladies Clinic with Rebel Football is
going to be Tomorrow night, Friday, from five to nine

(01:25):
pm at the Fortida Football Complex. And they're saying this
is designed to empower women across the Las Vegas community
and give them a special behind the scenes football experience. Now,
coach Dan Mullin is gonna be there, some UNLV football players, coaches,
other staff and I didn't see this dinner. You're gonna
get dinner? Well, it's from five to nine. I would

(01:45):
hope they would include dinner, drinks, games, a silent auction, raffle.
It's going to offer, in their words, interactive and educational fun.
I want to go, but it is a ladies clinic
and tickets are available exclusively through the Friends of UNLV website.
If you go take some pictures. Tag Sonny one O

(02:05):
six point five on Instagram. We'd love to share your experience.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
You're listening to Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean. I'm
Sonny one O six point five.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Sonny one O six point five, Las Vegas's best variety
of the eighties nineties and today, good morning, it's Sean.
We are creeping up on Father's Day weekend here, and
let's be honest, I mean Mother's Day. It does certainly
always feel like a bigger deal than Father's Day, right,
and one in four people have actually forgotten to get
their dad a gift for Father's Day.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
And I am very much.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Like my dad in that I don't particularly care too
much if I get anything for Father's Day. Just don't
ruin your mom's Mother's Day. As long as she's happy.
I'm happy right now. That said, I did find a
list of some of the worst gifts some fathers out
there have.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Gotten, so you don't duplicate these.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
There's some of the obvious offenders, a tie, socks, but
the real bad ones a plunger, a garlic press, emergency
underpants whatever those are, A toilet timer and a clip
on tie which might actually be worse than a real tie.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
But the best thing you can get your dad, according
to a lot.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Of fathers out there, is just some heartfelt words telling
your dad what he means to you, the mark he
made on your life.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
That stuff's important.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
In fact, it'll probably be better than anything that has
a price tag attached to it.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
And I agree with that.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Suny six point five Sunny one was six point five.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
It's Sean, I got your sunny story of the day.
You know.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
I think it was at least twenty years ago that
I went and I helped out with one of Habitat
for Humanity's home builds. But you don't have to pick
up a hammer and nails to help out with their cause.
You could actually just do some shopping. So if you're
planning on buying any furniture or doing any kind of
remodeling this summer, consider going to Habitat for Humanity's Restore.
Our friends over at Channel thirteen and thirteen Connects Make

(03:51):
It Home campaign are partnered with Habitat for Humanities Restore
now through June twenty seventh, And it's a great reminder
because I always forget restore is the until I hear
a story like this because I haven't shopped there in years,
although I used to. But they have great budget friendly
options for home improvement furniture Daycore. If you're trying to
like just refresh a space in your home, you can

(04:12):
get some great deals there and it all goes towards
Habitat for Humanity's mission of building safe, affordable housing right
here in southern Nevada. So your money is staying local.
And you can find that restore out at Sahara Avenue
and Decatur Boulevard. So check it out if you're doing
any furniture shopping whatsoever this summer.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
It's sunny one of six point five Wake Up with
Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sehn on Sonny one oh
six point five.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
I promise you what you're about to hear is not
an ad. I just find this fascinating.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
It's sunny one. It was six point five. I'm sean.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
It feels like every once in a while you see
celebrities trying to do the right thing and save people money, right,
I mean, look at Mark Cuban's cost Plus drug company.
They're selling pharmaceuticals to the lowest possible markup right. Well,
some very popular podcasters actors Sean Hayes, Will Arnett and
Jason Bateman. They host the very popular SmartLess podcast, which

(05:08):
you can listen to on iHeart. They're starting a phone company.
They're calling it SmartLess Mobile, and they're calling it a
wireless service that promises to be refreshingly. BS free plans
started just fifteen bucks a month. They promised no price hikes.
A few months in, they're trying to cut your bill
and a half.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Now.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
The reason they're doing this is that they've found out
that while all the bigger companies they try to push
these unlimited data plans, they realize that most people don't
actually use that much data, even if they're glued to
their phones. Most Americans spend ninety percent of their time
under Wi Fi, so their mobile service just doesn't call
for that much data, and thus their plans are less expensive. Look,

(05:48):
most people will switch phone companies immediately if they can
save some money. And this feels like saving a lot
of money, and I am fascinated it might be worth
looking into, is all I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
All Right, they should. They're not paying me to say that,
by the way, and maybe they should.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
I'm fascinated coming up at seven forty gonna get your
family into Lego Land, California with the name drop.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Make sure we have your name at Sunny Window six
five dot com.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Sony six point.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
So are you a shower at morning or night kind
of a person? Seven oh two seven nine six one
oh six five. My name is Sean here on Sunny
one of six point five. So I was having this
discussion with one of my wife's girlfriends and the subject
came up, and I told her I've always been a
morning shower person, even now, like it doesn't matter how
early I get up for this job, I still need

(06:34):
to ease into the day, and a shower helps me
do that. And I'm woken up by the end of it.
And she said, you just carry the entire day's grime
with you into your bedsheets. That's disgusting, And in that moment,
I did feel disgusting. And I don't really think that
I wash our sheets often enough to get away with that.
Maybe that's oversharing. I promise you my sheets are not disgusting,
but uh, at least, what do you think Are you

(06:55):
a shower at morning or night kind of a person.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
I'm gonna do with the night.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
I'm gonna do with the night.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
You gotta wash up that day, wash off the day.
That is exactly how she put it. Really, go wash
off the day at night and then wake up fresh already, right,
that's right as a daisy. Well, wake up fresh, yeah,
fresh as a daisy, and you're not stinking up your
sheets like I am. Well, thank you for the call, Elise, Hey,
thank you. Absolutely you got an opinion on this. Seven

(07:21):
oh two seven nine six, one oh six five. We'll
take some more calls after this.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
This is Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
I'm Sunny six point five. You know, I'm considering changing
my entire shower strategy now thanks to a conversation with
one of my wife's girlfriends. It's Sunny one a six
point five. I'm Sean. I told her that I've always
been a morning shower person helps me wake up, and
she said that was disgusting and that I should be
showering at night to wash the day's grime off of me.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
And it was kind of eye opening.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Jamie, what do you think do you shower in the morning.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Or at night?

Speaker 3 (07:55):
I'm sour in the morning because I'm a girl, and
if I shower at night, my hair did not look
good in the morning. I got a shower in the
morning so I can blow dry my hair and then
it's nice and poofy, and it looks good for the day.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Nice, nice and poofy. You gotta work that magic, right, yes,
in the morning, all right, And I.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Never really, I guess for me, I don't get it
as bad because I'm a guy with shorter hair. But
I imagine you know, with that longer hair you got,
you get like pillow head.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Ah yeah, then you look like a homeless person with
flat pillow head.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
No, no, come on, all right, well I appreciate it.
Looks like I wasn't the only person with a nice
shower strategy. Thanks for chiming in for sure.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Thank you guys for taking my call.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Absolutely, have a great day.
