Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning and happy feel good Friday. Let's talk about
moving this morning, and I mean move in your body,
because sometimes just figuring out a workout that you enjoy
can be hard. So I think it's time to bring
back the classics, don't.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
You, Sean.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yeah, well a lot of people are beating us to
that right now. If you spend any time on social media,
specifically TikTok, you might have seen that jazzer size is.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
Making a comeback on TikTok. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
All of these younger people, these gen z Jen Alpha,
they're rediscovering like the exercise fads of decades past, and
it's like they're blowing it's blowing their mind because I
don't think we really see any of these things right now.
Like I honestly, Joanna could not tell you the last
time I've seen a commercial for like one of these programs,
you know, like six minute abs or something six minute Abs.
Speaker 5 (00:48):
Well, you said jazzer size. I want to say this.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
There is I know a couple jazzer side facilities here
in Las Vegas. I've gone to one, but back in
the day, I lost a good amount of weight doing
jazzer size, So I am a jazzer sized fan. I
wish it would only grow and I could get back involved.
There's not one by my house, but I would totally
sign up for Jazzer size.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
I cannot believe that there actually are facilities here. I mean,
it's really the test of time. I mean it was
created in I don't know this offhand. I'm looking at
it right now, but it was created in nineteen sixty
nine by Judy Shephard. She's eighty one. Now looks fantastic
according to Google Images. But yeah, I mean, all these
younger people they're finding it's not just jazzer size, but
(01:33):
I mean they're discovering Tybo people. P ninety X remember
that one that was like, I think one of the
biggest ones of my you know, my youth growing up
seeing that on TV was the P ninety X commercials.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Yeah, I'm going to be out actually at a new
Goodwill later on this morning, and I'll tell you what
something I feel like I see at every Goodwill is
a Tybo DVD. So if you maybe want to try
it out, it's likely good be a Tybo DVD at
the Goodwill.
Speaker 5 (02:02):
I'm gonna be out later today.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
On ann Road and just like out of curiosity, I
googled some of like the biggest fitness fads of all time,
and remember the bowflex. I think the bow flate that
gets listed as like the biggest exercise fad of all time,
but it was an actual piece of equipment. I remember
neighbors having it in their home.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
Yep, I remember that one. What else?
Speaker 3 (02:22):
And by the way, if you had the bow flex,
you had some money too, I think was not cheap.
The vibrating belt, remember that one, Like it was like
it looked like a toaster on a It looked like
a toaster that was on like a like a mailbox post,
and it had a big like band that that you
put around your waist and it would like shimmy around.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Really early fast my uncle in his basement.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
I don't remember that one.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
But the one that I remember and tell me it's
on the list is the thigh Master.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yes, absolutely, it's on the list. It's in the top five.
I know you do, and you love it.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
I do.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
It's good for not just the thighs, but the arms
as well.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
I think I need to break that out again.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
In my New Year's resolution, I'm going to bring back
jazzer size and the thigh Master in my world.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Oh this is so good. You know what, I'm going
to ask this question over on Facebook. I think you
can have some fun. If anyone has a chime in
over on social let us know your favorite fitness fads
of all time.
Speaker 6 (03:21):
Wake Up with Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
On Sunny one, I was six point five.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
So dining out it's getting more and more expensive, probably
more than ever, but a lot of us still love
to dine out and we're finding ways to make that
work by ordering smaller portions and a lot of times
off the kids menu. It's Sunny one of six point
five Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean. Joanna, this is
something that you've done before, even Rake recently.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yes, absolutely, I did it recently at Panda Express. It's
like the kid's bawl and it's a lovely portion size
and you get to choose, you know, one of like
the main entrees. I did beef and broccoli and noodles,
and I thought it was.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
A good portion size.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Plus it was significantly cheaper than just ordering off the
regular menu.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
And nobody judged me because I went to the drive through.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
It was perfect ah, okay, Well, my next question was
going to be did they ask you like, do you
have a kid with you? Or they give they didn't
give you like the third degree on whether or not
a kid was going to be eating that meal?
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Did they No?
Speaker 1 (04:20):
I don't think most like fast food places would do
that or right, because it's like you're going through the
drive through, they don't know who you're ordering for.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
So yeah, order happy.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Meals all day kids bowls from Panda Express, whatever.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
And no judgment will happen to you.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Okay, Well, that's good to know because this new survey
says that a lot of adults they're ordering smaller portions
even appetizers for dinner. Although that's interesting to me because
I find a lot of times appetizers are like the
same cost as an entree these days, because they're expecting
you to feed like a you know, a table full
of people, Like I feel like you're going to pay
fifteen bucks for a plate of mozzarella sticks or something,
(04:54):
not that you'd eat all that mozzarella for dinner.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
But yeah, I've done that before, ordered appetizers as my
main entree, and I don't know if I did it
necessarily for cost savings. Maybe more for portion control, I
don't know, but sometimes you just want a good appetizer
and maybe you'll be cheaper right then, you.
Speaker 5 (05:10):
Know, regular entre so why not.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
No, I've most definitely ordered things off the appetizer menu
for meals before in the past. If it's because things
like you'll find chicken wings on app menus all the time,
and sometimes you just want wings for dinner. Right, So,
forty four percent of adults say that they are regularly
ordering off the kids menu in order to like save money,
I guess. But there are some restaurants that are pushing
back and saying that the kid's menu is just for kids.
(05:35):
So even if they do serve you, like the chicken
strips from the kids menu, they might tack on, you know,
twenty percent or something as a charge because you're an adult.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
I don't necessarily blame restaurants for doing that, because if
all of us all of a sudden start ordering off
the kids menu, like, restaurants are going to lose profit. So,
I mean, I understand why in restaurant dining they may
be a little bit stricter with kids meals.
Speaker 5 (05:59):
I think that's I think.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
That's just expected because we want restaurants to succeed too.
It's just you know, we want to try to figure
out ways to save.
Speaker 5 (06:07):
Money as well. We got to figure out the balance there.
Speaker 6 (06:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Well, I think the other option is they could also
try and drop the prices on their regular sized portions
as well. It almost might work out in the wash, right, Like,
instead of paying twenty percent more for a kid's meal,
if they dropped your entrees twenty percent, people might be
more inclined to pay that money, is my guess.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yeah, did I tell you the story once? Speaking of
grilled cheese. I know we were teasing that earlier. I
was at a work lunch one time and a girl
in the meeting ordered a grilled cheese, and later on
she told me that her boss like reprimanded her and said,
you know, you should have ordered a grilled cheese. That's
a kid's food. Don't be ordering that at a business lunch.
(06:46):
And I was like, she got Maddie, your boss got
mad you for ordering a grilled cheese. And she's like, yeah,
she told me I was a kid.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
I was like, really, well, you know what the answer
to that is, Next time you order the lobster and
then you lock eyes with your boss.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
Yep, Sunny one oh six point five.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
It's a feel good Friday right here on Sunny when
I was six point five.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
Good morning, it's Joanna and Sean.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Let's celebrate the good news in your life. Seven o
two seven nine six one oh six five. If you
want to chime in with some feel good news so we.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Can celebrate you, uh.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Seven oh two you already get with the number two.
I'm gulling you all right, I'm totally blanked out of here. No,
it's because I'm actually feeling really good and I just
I wouldn't wait to share some good news with you
this morning here, Joanna, Oh, tell me, this is the
weekend that my wife is running a half marathon that
she has been training for for months, and I'm just
I'm so absolutely.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
Proud of her.
Speaker 5 (07:44):
That is so cool.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
I remember you telling me about this before I went
on maternity leave.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
So it's been a while. Go Karen, I.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
Know, right.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
So it's I can't remember the name of the marathon.
Maybe it's the Las Vegas Marathon. I don't know, but
it was going to be on the Strip. It has
been moved now how it's starting up in Mount Charleston
and it ends up in like the northwest side of
town where actually where we live. So the finish line
is actually only a couple of miles from my house,
believe it or not. Wow, But yeah, I mean it's
gonna be an early morning for her on Sunday and
(08:15):
then yeah, I'm gonna be out there with the kids
and some really funny posters and just can't wait for
her to like cross the finish line and we're going
to cheer her on, and I just I'm.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
So over the moon.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
I can't wait for our kids to see her conquer
this half marathon.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Honestly, is she is?
Speaker 5 (08:30):
This her first one?
Speaker 4 (08:31):
Yeah, she's never done anything like this before. This is
she's done?
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Fine?
Speaker 3 (08:34):
What made her want to do it? Just as a goal?
She wanted something to work towards, you know, and.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
It's yet that bucket list moment for her.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Absolutely, So I could not be more proud of her.
Our whole family is. So I'm looking forward to.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
That absolutely, And of course everyone here at Sunny when
I was six point five wishing Karen the.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
Best of luck this weekend.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
She's going to do amazing and let's hear some other
amazing news this morning. I know Lisa's been on Hold.
Good morning, Lisa. Let's hear your good news.
Speaker 6 (09:01):
My good news is this has been on my bucket
list forever, is.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
To be on The Prices Right. And I just got
my tickets. Ay, the Price is Right. That's incredible.
Speaker 7 (09:13):
Yeah, and it's for the line that will maybe maybe
maybe get me on the show.
Speaker 5 (09:18):
All right.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
I hear that most people like have to audition when
they're in those lines.
Speaker 5 (09:23):
That's what I heard, right. They look for personalities that
people who are going to look good on TV. I mean,
that's pretty awesome. You got selected.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
That's me.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
You're so oh my god, that's amazing. Lisa. You're the
next contestant on The Price Is Ride. Come on down.
You want to hear those lines, don't you?
Speaker 6 (09:42):
I do.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
I love it.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
That's so awesome.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
I feel like The Price Is Right is like a
bucket list game show for a lot of people out there.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
I would love to be on literally any game show whatsoever.
That's but that's an iconic one to be on.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Lisa. We are going to be on the lookout.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Please check back in with us and let us know
when that episode is going to air. Because we want
to get everyone here in the valley cheering you one
when you're on the show.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
Awesome God, Lisa.
Speaker 7 (10:08):
Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sonny one oh.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Six point five Joanna and Sean on Sunny one o
six point five. So if you listen often enough, you
probably know about this time we do your Sunny Story
of the day. Just a daily dose of positivity. Joanna,
what's going on?
Speaker 4 (10:24):
So?
Speaker 1 (10:24):
I think we all probably know someone who takes Halloween
a little too far with tons of decorations.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
But that's not a bad thing, right.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
No, No, not at all. I think it's a I
like going above and beyond for holidays.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Love that too, especially when it's for a great cause.
So we're going to tell you about Kevin Holt and
what he does every year. So he creates a haunted
forest for a much bigger purpose. He's been doing this
now for about four years, and he invites the neurodivergent
students from a local school to walk through that forest
for absolutely free.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Oh man, that's cool for me. It's hard to find
anything for free in Las Vegas, but this is awesome.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
And especially for you know, children who are neurodivergent on
the spectrum have sensory needs. I mean, that's a lot
of work and time that is put in to make
sure that something can be sensory friendly.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
Right.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
It looks like it takes Kevin over a month to
put this.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
Haunted Force together.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
But at the end of it, the students, the children,
they're just so happy to feel included, to have something
special made just for that.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Well.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
I would imagine that, like of all the holidays on
the calendar, Halloween has to be one of the most
challenging for those out there that are neurodivergent and sensitive
to those kinds of kinds of things. But I'll say this,
I think you and I probably find these stories more
often than other people because we're looking for them. But
I do think that here in the Valley that kind
(11:53):
of thing is taken a lot more seriously and given
a lot more thought and consideration than in most places.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
I think here in.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Vegas we do a great job as a city of
making sure that there are these sensory accessible things for
families to take take in.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Absolutely, I know we're strong believers that inclusion matters, and
people who just go out of the way to do just.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
That are pretty special.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
And what I think is really cool about this story
is that Kevin was actually inspired to do something like
this by a farmer that he grew up by, whoevery year,
would you know, obviously grow pumpkins and then give free
pumpkins out to children in his local area.
Speaker 5 (12:33):
So that then inspired Kevin to.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Do something special for kids in his local area now
when he's grown up. So it's that trickle effect of
kindness which is so important.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
It really is.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
And that dude probably was not living in any place
with a homeowners association. If I tried to, if I
tried to grow pumpkins on my property, guaranteed I am
getting a knock on the door from somebody who says
that those are not up the code.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Even probably a haunted forest, right, But that's OK. It's
for a greater cause, so I'm sure they are going
to take those fines with pride. So if you want
to read more about Kevin and his haunted forest, maybe
we'll inspire you to do something special this Halloween. You
can read more now at Sunnywinno sixty five dot com.
Just click on Sunny Mornings six. Disneyland tickets could be
(13:23):
yours this morning with the seven forty name drop. There
is still time to sign up. Sunnywino six five dot com.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
Be listening at.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Seven forty you could be headed to the happiest place
on Earth.
Speaker 5 (13:35):
Good morning, It's Joanna and Sean and Sean.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
I am so excited this morning to tell you about
what I think is going to be the hottest selling
item this holiday season.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
Okay, good consumer reports with Joanna. I love it. What
do we got going on?
Speaker 5 (13:50):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (13:51):
So this is sold at Sam's Club and I am
so stoked about this. It's a vacuum Racer twelve V
go card. It can only be purchased at Sam's Club.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
But this is a ride on toy and a working vacuum.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Imagine a go cart but there's like a vacuum suction
underneath you all hold.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
So this but if it's if it's functioning, it's not
necessarily a toy. You're talking about, like how big is
this thing? Can I ride on this thing? Or is
this for kids?
Speaker 1 (14:20):
It's for kids for sure, and that's why.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
I think it's just genius.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
I can't wait up.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
We're gonna make these kids earn their keep around the house.
Y'all don't pay rent.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Actally, and they're not gonna know they're actually doing work
for you. I mean, honestly, it's such a lifesaver. I mean,
kids can zoom around the living room, they can be
vacuuming the floor at the same time, and everybody's just
having the best time ever.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
I don't know how something like this hasn't been invented already.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
You're not kidding. Actually, how is this something that has
slipped through the cracks for like decades? Right? Oh my gosh,
I can't.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
I'm gonna be looking for this thing like promptly as
soon as I can find it at a Sam's Club.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
Look.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
For some reason, there's an aid where kids enjoy cleaning.
I don't know why, but at some point they get
fascinated with like the handheld vacuum or like they want
to sweep, you know what I mean. Like, for some
for some reason, you hand a little kid a broom
and they're like the happiest person on the planet.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
It's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
What age did you kind of see that like transition
happen in your household?
Speaker 3 (15:19):
I think like even the last couple of years, like
my daughter's six, and I would say, for the last
couple of years, she enjoys helping and like she wants
to be the one that runs the handheld vacuum and
like it just makes her feel like an adult. But
I mean, hey, look if I can get her to
ride on like a train that looks that's a vacuum
that looks like a train, I mean, she'll be in heaven.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
Yeah, it's pretty special.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
I think it's awesome to see that transition when kids
like don't want to do that type of stuff to
like finding curiosity in it. Like my son Brack, he's
so into like taking out the trash with my husband Andrew.
I mean, that's my husband's household shore and it's really
cool to just like watch him model it and like
be excited to go outside and put it in the
trash can. Like I just I think, what a fun
(16:00):
age that is, What a fun transition to witness.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
It reminds me of the like the baby onesies I've
seen that have like like sponges on the bottom or whatever,
Like it lasts up basically your your your kid could
be like crawling around the floor but simultaneously kind of
scrubbing everything clean a little bit.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
I gotta tell you the price tag though, because the
comments on these videos of this go Kart vacuum they're
pretty funny. Somebody puts for the mere price tag of
two hundred dollars. You two can have a home run
on child Labor.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
This is Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
I'm Sunny one, I was six point five.
Speaker 5 (16:38):
Good morning.
Speaker 1 (16:39):

weekday morning with the name drop. You sign up at
Sunny Windows six five dot com. You set those reminders for.

Speaker 5 (16:54):
Who are you looking for on this feel good Friday, Sean?
Speaker 4 (16:57):
Right now, we're looking for Chang Pan.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
You've got ten minutes to call us back and claim
your four pack of tickets. Seven O two seven nine
six one o six five Chang Pan, Your ten minutes
starts right now.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Seven oh two seven nine six one oh six five.
Good luck to you now.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
We of course went to went to school in the
eighties and nineties, and do you remember the cafeteria food
when you were in school?
Speaker 5 (17:23):
Did you like it? Do you have good memories of it.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
I think there were certain days that I looked forward to. Right,
we'd always have the menu at home and you could
you know, you'd know what to expect the next day
and decide like whether or not you wanted to bring
a lunch from home or get the cafeteria lunch that day.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
Right, what was your favorite?
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Do you remember your favorite day of the week or
the food item in the cafeteria that you loved.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
I was a mac and cheese. I'm still a mac
and cheese guy to this day.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
But if I knew I was getting mac and cheese
at school, I would like some chicken Tendi's.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
Absolutely.
Speaker 5 (17:54):
I loved the cardboard tasting pizza.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Yeah, I didn't mind it.
Speaker 5 (17:59):
I still have fun memory about it.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
And it was served with like a big old scoop
of French fries that were kind of soggy, but like
it just went really well together.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
And I have fond memories of that.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Yeah, a lot of people have fond memories of some
of these not so good cafeteria foods. Mashed dot com
they did this survey and they asked people what old
fashioned school cafeteria foods need to come back. And Joanna
and I were kind of perusing some of this list,
and some of the favorites included the tater tot casserole.
Remember that frozen tater tots with ground beef and like
(18:31):
a cheese sauce on top.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
That actually sounds really good. Right about now, I was gonna.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
Say, I don't remember that one, But now I have
dinner plan, So I'm glad that I now know about the.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
Tater tot casserole.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Right maybe hit with everybody in the family. I think
the mashed potatoes with country gravy. Remember they used to
have the ice cream scoops that they would serve it
with too. Mashed potatoes always came out looking like you
should have had it on a cone, always.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
So perfectly round. But you know what, so delicious.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
You know, it was just like made with water and
then somehow created.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
And it was just awesome. One day I did not
look forward to was Sloppy Joe Day. I just they
never looked. I don't think they look good now, honestly,
like I've still net They've never grown on me.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
Sloppy Joe Day. But a lot of people want to
see that. Bring the bring that back.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
All I can think about when I hear about sloppy
Joe's is that scene in Billy Madison when he goes
back to school and the cafeteria lady like makes it
extra sloppy for him.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
It's just always such a good.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Memory, oh man.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
And then of course Salisbury's steak also on the menu.
That was I think that's a that was a time
monitorn tradition across every school in the country. I think
if if you didn't, you didn't go to school and
not see Salisbury's steak on the menu, because let's be honest,
it was really just Hamburger exactly.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
And honestly it carried into the home too, because I
remember that as like a TV dinner that we sometimes
ate while watching tgif.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
So bads.

A little of my own good news here at my

here for the last six months or so, tackles it
this weekend. I cannot be more proud of her. It
starts up in Mount Charleston, runs downhill. There's a marathon,
full marathon and a half. She's starting with the half.
Gotta start somewhere. So proud of her. It's going to
be ending up in the Northwest, and man, I just
(21:24):
can't wait to be here at the finish line with
the kids and a funny sign to make her laugh
as she's crossing that finish line. By the way, if
you have any suggestions for a funny sign that I
can have at the bottom of the race there, please
let me know. You can find me on Instagram at
Life of Strife. Coming right back. I'll get you another
chance at one thousand dollars. Repeat that keyword if you
missed it at eight o'clock for Christmas.

When I was in high school, I was a makeup

A makeup wife.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
I can't even imagine how you put something like that together.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
How'd you do it?
Speaker 2 (22:12):
I literally just got one of those cheap teachers from
Forever twenty one and got.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Some red take for as like lipstick, and then got
a little foundation on it and I was a makeup wife.
That is it?
Speaker 3 (22:24):
That is actually really ingenious. You know what's funny about
that is the bronzer. You go at that foundation, you
could be Kim Kardashian's makeup wife.

Basically, I'm a movie character from a movie that came
out this year, huge hit with a sing along version.
My costume might be a little demonic. It has choreography,
a fan base, and a few supernatural secrets. And today's
final clue, my character is a big fan of soda pop.
