Stirring the pots one morning at a time. Welcome, Welcome
through the Alabama Show.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Happy Friday, Happy Friday. Are you ready? Are you glad?
You only had to work? What three days this week?
Then we get a three day weekend? Well I still
got to work tomorrow, but well I don't I guess
three day weekend? Well, okay, you get it. You had
to work four days. Yes, good for you. Good job.
By the way, if you forgot, if you're listening to
the show, Monday is MLK Day, so see if you

(00:37):
have the day off, you may not have to come
to work. Do you have a question? Do you have
a weird question of the day? I know I didn't
tell you before we started it. Producer Blake has really
good random questions for people, and I love them.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Yeah, if you had to describe your weekends, what spice?

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Would it be?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Cinnamon? So I'll set my stripper name. I'm gonna get
in trouble for saying that. Also my lady of the
night name. It's not really you know that is.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
I wasn't. I was asking for your nickname. Okay, what
would you just be?

Speaker 2 (01:15):
What spice? Are you?

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Marjoramcha?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Yeah? No, I think you're more of an oregano. Maybe
you're a I don't think Mary, I don't think I
think you're mustard seed. Or maybe Celery's no your finnel seed.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
I don't think you understood my question here.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Good morning, thanks for listening to the show. Happy Friday,
thanks for being here. It's what the hell headlines? What
the hell are you talking about? On the Alabama show,
a Southwest Airlines pilot got arrested for a d U I.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
How far was this man along before they realized he
was flying?

Speaker 2 (01:56):
I don't know, but this is the most terrifying what
the hell headline We've ever done, because I fly Southwest
a lot. He was arrested at the Savannah Hilton Head
International Airport, and here's two passengers talking about the moment
he got taken off the plane.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
My husband just kind of looked over and he goes,
that's odd.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
There's a police officer on the plane.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
And when they walked out with the pilot, my first
comment I heard was he's drunk.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
His face was red. He looked like he'd been out
or tired, or just hadn't slept.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
I would be livid, like, literally, fly on a plane
is already terrifying. Could you imagine if your pilot was drunk?

Speaker 3 (02:27):
I just didn't know you could get a dui for
flying a plane?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Would it be a f you way?

Speaker 1 (02:36):

wheels does a tricycle have? Three? Three correct? Next question,

(03:13):
what color are smurfs?

Speaker 7 (03:16):
Blue?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Blue? Is? Do you remember smurfs? Blake?

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yep, They're a little town of little people that I
thought would be sad, but they are not.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, They're really not sad. All right, Jenna. Last question
for the win? How many degrees are in a right angle?

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Three?

Speaker 4 (03:34):
No, it's okay.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Call on Producer Blake.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Yeah, yeah, take me and tech me all right, it's
gonna be a.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Ninety ninety degrees are in a right angle? M sure.
Jenna girl, Congratulations, you're not sick anymore. And you're going
to see Mary J. Bliginio next month at the Legacy Arena.

Speaker 7 (03:58):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
There's three things you need to know you with the Element.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Congratulations to Hoover High School the jazz band. They're going
to be in a national competition at the Lincoln Center
in New York, which is freaking awesome. The competition's going
to be in May, so good for them. That's cool.
Here's an update on the ends with US Saga, where
Blake Lively is suing Justin Baldoni, her co star and
he also directed the movie, for harassment during the filming

(04:25):
of the movie. Now Justin Baldoni is suing Blake Lively,
Ryan Reynolds, her husband, and her publicist, asking for hundreds
of millions of dollars, and he's saying that Taylor Swift
pressured him into changing the script too.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Yep, four hundred million dollar lawsuit on the way.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Four hundred million dollars is how much he's suing for.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Because he's saying Blake Lively tried to take over the script,
which is so crazy.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Yes, and there's lots of rumors of stuff behind the
scenes as well, with Ryan Reynolds also joining in the fiasco.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Well, Blake Lively felt uncomfortable just and brought Ryan into
a lot of the conversations because Justin Baldoni was being sleazy.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Well that's said.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
But now there's receipts coming out on Justin's side, which
has now made this lawsuit more feasible.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
We'll just see what happens. Here's the latest on the
TikTok band. We're all waiting on the edge ofversiteat to
see what happens with this. Now. Trump and Biden are
looking for a way to keep TikTok up and running,
and official says that Americans should not expect to see
TikTok suddenly banned on Sunday, that they are exploring options
for how to implement the law so that TikTok does

(05:32):
not go dark on Sunday, and reportedly Trump is considering
an executive order that would save TikTok from a ban
or sale.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
He's hopefully gonna make it for sixty to ninety days
to discuss it.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
It's real funny. This week I've seen people post on
TikTok like they're goodbye messages. They're like, it was nice,
I loved being with you, and they were crying it
was great.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
It is a whole fiasco right now.

Speaker 7 (05:56):
It is.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Anyway, that's three things you need to know more at
the Alabama Show.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
You were listening to the Alabama Show on to man Rachel,
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
What's your issue for ask Alabama? Oh?

Speaker 5 (06:09):
My boyfriend didn't get me anything for Christmas?

Speaker 6 (06:12):
Oh boy, and I can't let it go.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah, it's just yeah, oh no, Well that's why we're here.
Hopefully we can help if you ever have the issue
for Ask Alabama. Date three thirty five oh one Bama
is the number. What's going on with your boyfriend and Christmas?

Speaker 6 (06:25):
So we've been dating for about a year and a half,
but this is our.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
First Christmas together, okay, and we were both on a
budget this year, so I wasn't expecting an extensive gift,
which is some sort of effort would have been nice,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Absolutely, Well, did you get him anything for Christmas?

Speaker 6 (06:43):
I did. I just got him a new wallet, which
was like thirty bucks.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
What did he say when you gave him the wallet
and he had nothing? Did he was? He like, I'm
sorry I didn't get you anything or what?

Speaker 5 (06:55):
No, Like he didn't even address it, Like he acts
like it was nothing.

Speaker 6 (06:59):
Like he didn't say anything. I try to not act,
you know, ungrateful. But a week after Christmas, I finally
said something to.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Him directly, okay, because it just makes me feel like
I don't matter.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
You know what, You've been dating for a year and a.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
Half exactly, and he said he didn't think it was
a big deal because we were both on a budget.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Here we are almost a month out from Christmas, and
you're still upset about it exactly.

Speaker 6 (07:25):
Now all I can think about is Valentine's Day.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Producer, Blake, what do you think.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
I think the God could have at least went out
to the like, you know, a pond or something, bought it,
like got a rock and painted it or something like something.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
So you do not.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Think that Rachel's overreacting on being upset that our boyfriend
did not buy her a Christmas present.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
I think you could overreact a little bit more personally.

Speaker 7 (07:48):
Did you?

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Did you all have a conversation about it. Did you
and her boyfriend say, look, we're both broke, we're not
going to do presents and you like mamboos of blim
or what.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
They both knew that we were broke, but we never
said we weren't going to get each other a gift.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
I say, you wait and see what happens on Valentine's Day,
because that'll be different. He's only shopping for one person
versus his whole family, but it's.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
Valentine's Day, and it's like, do I not mean anything
to him? That's what I'm afraid.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Well you need to do is not get him anything
for Valentine's Day? Right, Let's see if we can get
some advice for you. Have you ever been through this?
Have you ever gotten your spouse or your boyfriend or
your girlfriend something for Christmas and they got you nothing
and you got upset about it?

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Or for Valentine's Day?

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Because that's coming up too. Eight three three five oh
one Bama is the number. That's eight three thirty five
oh one two two six two See.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Alabama Show on to me. It's free on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Brook, Good morning. What do you think about Rachel's boyfriend
not getting her present for Christmas, and it's still bothering
her a month later.

Speaker 7 (08:49):
So I have been with my significant other Kurt fifteen years.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Ooh, okay, I buy the Christmas present. I use this
pay check, of course. Do you buy yourself Youstmas present?

Speaker 7 (09:01):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Sometimes I did.

Speaker 7 (09:02):
This year I didn't.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
But you buy his Christmas present with his money? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (09:07):
I don't have a job.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Yeah. I wasn't air horning that you have a job,
but I was air horning that you buy your boo
his present with his money. That's funny.

Speaker 7 (09:19):
But see, I don't expect him to get me anything either,
because he's the one that's working and providing the money
to buy the kids.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Chris wins. Okay, but let me ask you this, expect him.
Y'all have been together for fifteen years. Rachel's been dating
this guy for a year and a half. So do
you think it's bad? It was their first Christmas together.
He didn't maybe so.

Speaker 7 (09:39):
He could at least it to the Dollar General and
bought a little Teddy Bear And it's take Rose.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Exactly all right, Brick, thank you for calling the show.
I appreciate you.

Speaker 7 (09:48):
You're welcome, by bye.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Rachel called the show and she's upset because it's her
and her boyfriend's first Christmas together it was, and he
got her nothing and she got him a thirty dollars wallet,
and she's upset that he didn't get her anything. And
she's like, well, now Valentine's Day is coming up. What
if he does nothing, then should I be upset? Call
the show eight three three five O one BAMA is

(10:11):
the number. Valerie, good morning. Do you have advice for Rachel?

Speaker 7 (10:15):
Well, she kind of told her supplement answer. She said,
they discud mayby saving money on Christmas. So trying to
heard that thought, hm, ching, I could say some money
in my pocket sale.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
So you're saying she she even though she didn't say,
don't get me anything, he heard what he wanted to hear.

Speaker 7 (10:33):
He heard what he wanted to hear writing those works, because.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
That's a man thing, producer Blake, he does that all
the time.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
I'm here is what he wants to hear.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
I'm getting tired of this. I don't want to keep
getting blamed for all the guy's answers. I literally agreed
with her.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I'll be like at work, I'll be like, hey, can
you get this done? And then later I'll be like,
why is this done? And He'll be like, you didn't
say that. He heard what he wanted to hear, heard.

Speaker 7 (10:54):
What he wanted to hear. So she said that in
her words. But here's the thing Thanksgiving about for Valentine
is a you and I thing. So he don't have
to work out hearing. Let's say some money or or
you know, I'm to put the money towards the bills.
It's like it's written in soul. I will a GIF.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah, he better be getting some bling, bling and making
up for Christmas.

Speaker 7 (11:20):
You know, I'm agreeing with I'm green, Go get you
a rock and painted the color. It's something.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
So what I'm hearing is don't do any of that.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Stop the money.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
That's your mouth.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
It's three things you need to know. You with the
Alabama Show.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Okay, so the Trailblaze Challenge is going on in Alabama.
If you would like to train to hike twenty six
point three miles on the Pinhodi Trail, I'm going to
be doing it, so you can do it with me.
The hike is in May. But you're raising money for
Make a Wish, which is a really great charity that
Grant's wishes to kids who have been diagnosed with critical illnesses.
So you got like two weeks to sign up for

(11:57):
an info session. There's info sessions all over Alabama, Birmingham, Huntsville,
Mobile and you can go to one. But you have
to go to an info session. It does not commit
you to do the hike. You can learn about it.
If you want to do the hike, you do have
to go to an info session, So go sign up
right now. You got literally like a couple of weeks.
Go to Alabama trailblaze dot org. That's Alabama trailblaze dot org.

(12:19):
Statefarm just canceled their Super Bowl ad because they were
getting a lot of backlash because of the wildfires in La.
So now they're focused instead on customers who were impacted
by the fires. They were getting a lot of backlash
because they did not renew coverage for seventy two thousand
homes because of the fire risk, and now thousands of

(12:41):
homes and businesses have been burned down in southern California,
So they pulled the ad. They're going to work on
helping their customers, which is the right thing to do.
And in our winter weather coming up, there is a
polar vortex that is set to effect almost the entire
United States. Forecasters are saying forty eight out of our

(13:03):
fifty states are gonna be affected, and temperatures could go
as low as thirty five degrees below average across the
US this month, starting this weekend. So we're watching it.
What's a polar vortex? Producer Blake, my science guy, Bill
and I the science guy.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
All right, so I've done my research as much as
I could this morning. And so all the winter air
gets stuck on the poles, the north and South pole
because they're the farthest thing from the sun during the
winter months. But if it shifts just enough, the wind
can start to go south and effect and.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
It turns into a vortex, and then again it.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Starts affecting the southern states and southern countries.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Long story short, we might get to know this week.
Hopefully we do. We're gonna do a snow dance after
the show. We're gonna try to have a snow We're
gonna have another snow day. We're gonna have another snow day.
We're gonna have another snow day. Also, it's gonna be
real cold this weekend, like low's in the teens, so
bring a jacket. And that's three things you need to know.
More at the Alabamashow dot com, the.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Alabama on demand free on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
All right, here's what's awesome in the world today, and
I want to talk about this in honor of the
polar vortex that's coming to America this weekend or this yeah,
it starts this weekend. Okay, we're going to talk about pizzlies.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
What about the grollers.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
It's literally a polar bear has made it with a
grizzly bear because you know, everybody's afraid of global warming
and the North and South poles are warming up a
little bit, and so polar bears have started migrating a
little bit south and mate it with the grizzly bears
and it's like a cross breed now and it can
survive in warmer temperatures and it's literally nature's way of

(14:37):
keeping polar bears from going extinct. Grollers are also there's
a producer, Blake went down this rabbit hole a minute ago.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Grollers are when grizzly bear is the father, is the
bear daddy, is the bear daddy, and then the pizzly
is when the polar bear is.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
The baby beard baby bear daddy. That is it? Yes,
say baby bear daddy three times fast, Baby.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Baar daddy, Baby bayar daddy baby.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
All right, Bear cub daddy, Bear, cub daddy, Bear cub
daddy Bear cup daddy. That isn't how that's what's awesome?
We just yeah, anyway, it's cool. Go google image it.
That's what's awesome.

Speaker 5 (15:12):
All right.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
I got a good news story for you. Are you
ready hit me with it? Alabama made national television this week?

Speaker 4 (15:20):
How did we make national televisions?

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Milo's Sweet Tea, based out of Birmingham made it on
the prices right on Saturday's episode. And I also didn't
know this, And I think this is also another what's
awesome in its own. The CEO of Miloe's Tea is
a woman, Tricia Waalwart. She posted a picture on her
LinkedIn because she was all pumped that Milo's made it
on the price is right?

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Does it make you feel better than I actually know
the price of Milo Sweet Tea?

Speaker 2 (15:47):
What's the price of Milow Sweet Tea?

Speaker 4 (15:48):
It's it'll be three ninety nine.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
That was what it showed up on the prices right,
Ding Ding ding, hang on, hang on, hang on. I
got a price is right? Sound for you? Are you ready? Yes?
You got it right? Also because I just felt like it.
I love the prizes writer. It's great anyway, Alabama, we
made national news. Woo or TV not news, but you

(16:13):
get what I'm saying. You were listening to.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
The Alabama Show on demand.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
It's a sad day here on the Animal on the
on the Animal Show, on the Alabama Show.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
Normally it is an animal show.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Say something, just talk, tell the world you're here.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
I don't even know what to say anymore.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Hi'm Alabama with producer Blake. Thank you for listening to
the Alabama Show. Normally we are doing an animal funeral
because animals die on my farm all the time.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
We're not that I don't care about this.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
I do care about the TikTok band that's happening this weekend.
Are you sad about it?

Speaker 4 (16:53):
Why do they not care about us?

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Although we it may not go away, it may not
go dark on Sunday. We have been through amotional roller
coaster of emotions all week long. Because at first it
was like, oh well, you just can't take the app
Then it was like, oh no, the servers are going
to go down. Oh, everybody's moving to red red note,
red note. Oh everybody delete your Facebook. What's happening. So

(17:16):
we don't know what's going to happen. We normally do
TikTok live every morning. Go follow the Alabama show while
you still can before it's gone. You got two days,
we got some good videos. But today we are going
to have a funeral for TikTok. Do you have some
final words for the app that might be going away?

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Okay, TikTok, thank you for all the cursed memes an
algorithm that you've sent.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
Me over the past while. I thank you for the
really cringing music that I didn't know I needed.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
It's probably found so many artists.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
He was great.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
And then just all the amazing dances that I've seen
over the years for people that don't know.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
How to dance and never took the time to learn.
I am so happy that TikTok has been here for me.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Rest in peace. I prepared something. Can I read mine?

Speaker 4 (18:11):
I on to read it.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Dear TikTok, it's been a heck of a year. I
became a viral search on your app. That was fun.
We did some great lives with our friends and listeners
on the show. I don't miss people calling me a
democrat on the video I posted about people shooting down
the drones that went viral. I'll miss Matt Matthews doing
farm chores every morning, Okay. I won't miss Mama Tak

(18:34):
gossiping about everybody. I hope, I hope we find another
app where we can watch funny talk videos and learn
about more conspiracy theories like.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
The drones and the aliens.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
How are we going to find out what's going on
in the world? And I'm glad I never tried to
tide pod challenge on TikTok because that was dumb. TikTok
rest in peace, and I hope.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
We can save Atlanta. Still care Terri, guys, but I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
By the way, if you have some final last words
for TikTok and you would like to call the show
and say goodbye, you can eight three three five oh one, Bama.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
That's all you got it?

Speaker 6 (19:20):
You don't even care?

Speaker 7 (19:21):
I thought like that I don't. I don't usually watch
TikTok or be able to TikTok. I fuss at my kids.
I'm not doing all that. I don't know. I'm just
I'm okay with it.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
All these kids on TikTok need to go outside and get.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
Off the phones.

Speaker 7 (19:36):
You know, there are some really h kids who just
need to get out on that sun and see it out.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Get some vitamin D, not vitamin TikTok.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
So not goodbye.
