Speaker 2 (00:15):
Good morning, good morning. I need your help. Okay, I
need you to google. I had bugs, but I don't
know what they are. And every time I go into
the yard to deal with the chickens, I get a
bunch of little bug bites. But it's not mosquitoes. I
don't know if it's like mites or if it's siggers.
I've been googling it. Either way, I don't know how

(00:36):
to get rid of it, and I don't know how
to do it without like killing my chickens. I need
a good old boy to call the show. You're a
good old boy, your country boy.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Yeah, go get some like bug killer that doesn't hurt animals.

my yard? I'm so itchy? Okay, look, I feel like
they're crawling on me. Now.

pick out the right one for you.

Did they sell that stuff at home Deepot?

Speaker 4 (01:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Okay, thanks, Betty. Yeah, can you build me a new
coop too? Aren't you a carpenter?

old guy who led officers on a high bedchase, then
abandoned his suv and fled on foot. And it's making
national headlines because his name is literally Looney Tune. Listen
to this.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
The man's name is Looney Tune. Police consider him armed
and dangerous, K too.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Well, that is awesome. Are you a teacher and you're
trying to stay anonymous?

Speaker 6 (02:49):
I'm an educator, Let's put it that way, so I
get this pleasure of working with a bunch of different
school districts.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Oh that's great. Okay, Look, do you want to play
super Easy Trivia? This should be easy for you. I

Blake is your lifeline if you need him. Are you ready?

American flag?

Red white and blue?

Speaker 2 (03:16):

You're going to twenty one pilots. Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
I love you guys.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
I listen to you every morning on my drive. It's
three things you need to know you with the ELEMM,
we did have a first alert weather day to day,
the heat index levels could hit one hundred and five degrees.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Yeah, I missed me with that one. I ain't doing it.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
It is so hot. And then it's going to go
into Wednesday, and then we'll have scattered storms on Wednesday afternoon.
So basically our summer is going to be really hot
or really rainy. Here's how to stay safe in a
heat wave. First, find air conditioning because we've got this
heat wave going on. But also make sure you stay hydrated.
Drink water even if you are not feeling thirsty. Avoid

(04:39):
caffeine and alcohol producer blake.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Which one are you trying to convince me of?

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Both symptoms to look out for for a heat related illness. First,
you want to look out for heat cramps with heavy sweating.
That is a mild heat exhaustion. Move in immediately, take
small sets of water. If you have a rapid pulse
with nausea and fainting. I also go inside, take off
as many clothes as possible and apply cool wet cloths

(05:05):
under the arms, and obviously, if it progresses, called nine
to one one immediately. Do you see Brad Pitt was
just talking on Dak Shepherd's podcast about going to AA.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
I've not seen that.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Yes, he was just on his podcast. He went to
AA after his divorce from Angelina Jolie, and he said
he was shy at first, but then he said he
was really good at taking responsibility for it and owning
up to it, and after a few sessions, it actually
became something he looked forward to. And that's where Dak
Shepherd and Brad Pitt became friends. Was it AA because

(05:37):
they were at AA together? Because Dak Shepherd's been sober
for a while now.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
That is a wild turn of events.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
I love it and good for him for talking about
it and taking the stigma away from it. That's the
three things you need to know more at The Alabama
Show dot com, the.

This is for you, not for her? Correct you?

Speaker 4 (07:05):
I wondered why.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
It smelled like a twelve year old girl in here? No,
you did not.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
That's for handlers.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Oh my god?

Speaker 4 (07:12):
And then are you ready?

Speaker 2 (07:14):
You weren't you weren't taking me back to high school?
I mean, this is the this is the other type
of like blue Raspberry Burst body wash. Yeah, give that

to call the show, Chris. What's something your girlfriend turns
you on to that now you like to do? No?

Speaker 5 (08:31):
She has, Oh she They try to go into the
nail saloon and get my feet and you loved it,
didn't you ready to go? Today?

Speaker 2 (08:40):
There ain't nothing better than getting your legs rubbed in
the pedicure chairs. They ain't got a patronails. They just
rub your feet and clean them up. I love pedicures.
That's my main time.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yes, I love it.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
It felt so good. It was like especially figuring that

Speaker 1 (08:55):

Speaker 2 (09:14):
I love it. Chris, thanks for calling.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
It's what the hell headlines?

Speaker 2 (09:20):
What the hell are you talking about? On the Alabama Show,
a woman sued her boss after he put a chucky
doll in her chair.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Hi, I'm chucky.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
I would kill you. If I was afraid of dolls,
I would kill you.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Well, good luck getting any money out of me.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
A woman in North Carolina assuing her former employer, Truest Bank,
claimbing that a manager deliberately put a chucky doll on
her chair even though the whole office knew she had
a fear of dolls. Do you think she just left?
Do you think she worked that day or she was
like I'm out.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
I think she was like, all right, I see y'all.

Speaker 6 (09:55):
Hi, I'm chucky and I'm your friend to Beeric.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
It's three things you need to know with the Elema.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Oxford is opening a new jump park for mountain biking.
It's going to be a series of bicycle trails with
a circuit of rollers, berms, tabletops, and it's going to
be designed to be ridden by using momentum from up
and down body movements instead of pedaling. So the ribbon
cutting ceremony, if you want to go to it, is
going to be this Thursday at eleven am. Krispy Kreme's

(10:28):
dropping some new donuts. It's the American themed they're bringing back.
They're releasing two new donuts, bringing back a fan favorite.
So the new Freedom Ring donut, it's a glazed donut
that looks like a flag. Then the USA Party donut,
which is a glazed donut piped with buttercream. And then
the vanilla cookies and cream Liberty Crunch donut.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
You know what, I am not a no sugar rule,
but I might break it for the Krispy Kreme.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
And I know that's good. And here's the new fear
to unlock. If you have nightmares, they can actually unlive you.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
Oh, because your heart race is so fast, and gise
your heart tech.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
People who have an average of at least one nightmare
a week are three times more likely to die before
they hit seventy according to researchers. They tracked people for
more than two decades, and the ones who had at
least one nightmare a week we're not doing too well.
They think it's because our bodies respond to stress in
the dream the same way we do in real life,

(11:27):
and it raises your cortisol, which fast forwards aging. It's
not good.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
I don't really have ninmares, so I'm okay.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Well that's great. One of us is good us. Three
things you need to know more at the Alabama Show
dot com.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
The Alabama Show on to me, It's amazing free on
the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
App eight three three five I one Bama is the number.
If you had good news you want to celebrate and
share with the rest of the community. Rob, good morning.

Speaker 5 (11:58):
Yeah, I just wanted to and some great news.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
I am one of the four horsemen of TikTok and
I'm here to share great news with everybody.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
All Right, what's your kid news?

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Rob?

Speaker 5 (12:09):
We are hosting a Bears for Children event in July
the twelfth at the Ronald McDonald House and UAV.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
We did our first event a few months ago and
hand it out over two hundred bears to families and
children who needed a smile and good stuff happening to
them during the day.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
That is amazing. A lot of people don't know this.
I love the Ronald McDonald House. I've done work with
the Ronald McDonald House before. It's what you do is
you give families a place to stay when their kids
are in the hospital for an extended period of time,
because staying in a hotel for families that don't live
near the hospital for months on end is not feasible.

Speaker 5 (12:45):
And I'm going to tell you this when I did
it the last time, watching the relief come across some
of those parents' face because we were there just to
make their day better meant more to them than just
giving them a Teddy bear.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
That is amazing. So when people come to the event,
do you want them to bring teddy Bears? What? What
can people do?

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Well?

Speaker 5 (13:02):
So what we're doing is is we're using TikTok to
try to help people. We have used the app since
day one. We're gonna broadcast it and make it live.
We're just trying to get as much attention as possible
because we want to take this nationwide.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
But how can people who are listening help? What do
you want people to do?

Speaker 5 (13:19):
All right, so you go to TikTok and you search
four horsemen at TikTok. There's four guys. Find one of
us and you will get all the information you'll ever need.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Awesome, thank you for calling. That's great news. I appreciate
you and love what you're doing.

Speaker 5 (13:33):
Yes, ma'am, thank you.

Speaker 1 (13:34):

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
