Speaker 1 (00:04):
Fourth and six snap.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Since it looks left, throws out to the left, it's
broken up the plate.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Painte Bow. It ducked down.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Painte Bow, It ducked down.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Telabama's got an Oklahoma problem.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Nice get there, Shane. You're welcome, You're welcome.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
I think that was Toby Roland on the OU network
from Learfield.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
By the way, so is we have to give you
the right credits.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
But anyway, I uh, I am starting to get.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
What's the right word here.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Trying to buy You're starting to buy in.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
I'm starting to buy into the Brett venables and whatever
our buckles. First name is I can't remember. Is that
the offensive coordinator at OU. I wish I had more
time to watch them play, but honestly, they play a
lot of times in US there, you know exactly. And
the only and the only reason I got to watch
the Alabama game is because our plane was three hours
late on Saturday, and so instead of going straight to

(01:01):
the airport, we went back and had appetizers at the
hotel where we stayed at until the plane got there.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
So, uh, anyway, I got to watch watch a little bit. Again.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
I still don't know any of the players except for uh,
Mattier and the backup is Hawkins, but I the sound
was down so we were just watching it from the
from the bar in there. So anyway, let's get into
the college football discussion, because with Texas losing, I think
they're pretty much out of the playoff picture. Ohio State

(01:33):
is likely going to be the number one seed, Indiana
is likely going to be number two, and unless the
Aggies lose to Texas, they're going to be number three.
And even if they do lose to Texas, because I
can't imagine that they're going to lose to Stanford, they
are going to be somewhere between five and seven. But
let's go with the Aggies third and Georgia number four
because Georgia does have to play Georgia Tech, which I
think they'll win. Right now, the five to twelve matchup,

(01:55):
the five team would either be Oregon or USC. Oregon
right now has got the thing, got the heads up
on all that, although you could make a case that
Ole Miss could be number five too, So maybe it's
ole Miss in in the in North Texas and that Rangers.
These are my rankings, Jets, so I think North Texas
gets the twelve seed as long as they went out

(02:16):
and they win the conference championship game, which if they
play Tulane or or Navy, is likely going to be
a really hard game, and they want to win out
so that they can get home field advantage, and they're
likely going to get the home field advantage with all
the tie breakers. So I think North Texas is the
Group of twelve champion. Let's say that the number five

(02:37):
seed is Ole Miss. I'll go Ole Miss at number
five playing them, and then I'm gonna put the Now
Oregon and USC I think play this weekend, So I'm
gonna put the Oregon USC winner.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
It's gonna be number.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Seven, And you would jump USC all the way actually
number six, Yeah, okay, you would.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
You would jump us if they will already in the
top in the top ten in a couple of the polls.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Yeah, I don't. I can't imagine them staying in there.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Well I can't either, because I don't think they're gonna
be Oregon.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Well not just that, but be commariate, like, because right
now the Big Ten championship is probably gonna be Ohio
State in Indiana. Yeah, and so likely they're both going
to be in regardless and some other teams are still
going to be playing, We'll just push them from the
Ohio State Indiana.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
If that's the Big Ten championship. Ohio State is gonna
probably be one, in Indiana it's going to be four,
or Indiana's going to be one. In Ohio State's gonna
drop to four if they lose, and then then the
Aggies and Georgia.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Are the other two top four seeds.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
I'm going ole Miss five against number twelve North Texas,
which would put an ole Miss Ohio State second round matchup.
Let's go let's go with the Aggies two because Indiana
would probably drop to four, so I'm gonna go Aggie's
at number two would play the six to eleven winner,

(03:56):
which would be I think either Oregon and USC against
Notre Dame, which could potentially be another USC Notre Dame rematch,
although I don't think USC is gonna win the game
against Oregon, so more likely it's going to be the
winner of Oregon Notre Dame, and that would that would
take place in Oregon because they'd be the higher seat.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
I think oh You's going to be the seven. And
guess who I think O You's.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Gonna play Alabama Texas Tech, you would put my school
at ten, Well, I put I put OU into I
put OU or Texas Tech seven and ten. I've got
Alabama and BYU eight and nine.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Well, currently Tech would be like number five in the polls.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
You're saying that, But no, I don't think Texas Tech's
gonna lose. But Ole miss Is in some poles is
number five and in other plays. It's kind of we're
kind of trying to figure out where all these seats
are going to go.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
But I think you.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Could have an OU Texas Tech matchup at either eight
nine or seven ten, But you could also have Texas
Tech hosting a playoff game in Lubbock.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
I think Tech, honestly, if they win out and they
win the Big twelve, they're gonna be a top four
seat because A and M and Georgia are probably gonna
knock one of them out.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
And in Indiana.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
The Aggies and Georgia likely play each other in the
SEC Championship.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
And then if Tech wins out, so they win, they
have a buye with this weekend. Then they played West Virginia,
don't worry about that, win that, and then they would
likely based on the current standings have a rematch with
b YU now I think b YU, But.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
That would be a neutral site game in Dallas, correct
ar Kansas City.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
Yep, exactly, and so so like, if they win that game,
they win the Big twelve outright, so they would at
the very least would be fourth. Because if A and
M and Georgia played each other the SEC Championship game,
based on today's standings, they can't keep both of them
there at the same spot.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
One would.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
So let's go Ohio State one, okay, and Texas A
and M two.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
If they went out, yes.

Speaker 5 (05:45):
And that third seed is it depends on, Like I guess,
it depends on how badly hypothetically Georgia and Indiana would
lose in those games.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
So you got Texas tech is because high as three?
As high as three, and Georgia drops to four or
stays it four?

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Yeah maybe?

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Or do they drop out and go to five? Now
I think that is all Miss. Does All Miss move
up to four?

Speaker 5 (06:06):
I don't think they would move all Miss up that high.
I don't think so. Again, it depends on how close
the game is. If A and M blows Georgia out,
Georgia pell is in there, but they're not gonna be.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
A top Does the Big twelve get two teams?

Speaker 4 (06:19):
That's it. That's tough, just because.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
As I think both Texas Tech and BYU are deserving
of it right now they're both one school. But let's
say so Texas Tech and b why you play again?
If Texas Tech beats some a second time, does b
WYU get knocked out for another conference team? Or if
BYU wins, do both b YU and Texas Tech getting
the CFP as non top fourteen?

Speaker 5 (06:40):
If the College Ball Playoff commitee at that point said
Texas Tech is the third best team of the country.
And if you're b YU and the only team you
have lost to is the third best team in the country,
and you've beaten everybody else, including a really good Utah team,
which right now is their best win, then I think
you would give credence to that because I think right now,
as it stands today, the the the X factor in
this might be out of Obama because even though they

(07:01):
are Alabama and they are ten and two and they
had a good loss, you would say against Oklahoma, they
have a bad loss also with Florida State, which is
a similar thing with Texas.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
That was in September, so September losses don't tend even.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
Still, when it comes down to things like this, they
look at yes, they have a good that's don't.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Think they would take them out of it. I think
they would drop them to eleven or twelve. But I
don't think if Alabama doesn't lose to Auburn and whoever
whatever Patsy they're playing before Auburn, then I think they're
in as at least the eleven twelve seed.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
I think so, yeah, I think that with Alabama, Alabama's
probably going to at the very worst in today and
tomorrow's polls, probably be tenth.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
That's in the polls.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
Remember for those remember they remember the playoff position isn't
the top twelve, it's really the top eight and then
four at large because you have an ACC champion who's
likely going to be back there and at large probably
Notre Dame. And then you have the group of five
who's gonna be the highest ranked Right now, I think
as North Texas, right they're twenty two in the AP
pole today. So really only you only look at the

(07:58):
top eight when it comes to those teams from the playoff,
because nine through like fifteen might be subjective based on
conference standings because the ACC gets an back bid uh
and I think right now, I think right now, I
would say the SEC is going to get at least
four teams. The Big ten is probably gonna get three,
and then from there it's all filmed.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
So if it's Ohio State A and m Texas Tech
and Indiana as your top four seats, assuming Ohio State
beats Indiana in the championship game, right, then who's five.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Ole Miss all Miss?

Speaker 5 (08:28):
I would I would just because of where the position
I would put all Miss.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
There, all Miss is five, and then six is Oregon.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
I'll go Oregon and then Georgia, and then I would
probably do Oklahoma. No, I would do a Notre Dame,
then Oklahoma.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
See I think ahead of Notre Dame.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
And then at that point, I think the a SEC
champion is going to be ten, So like either, I
think the winner of Miami Georgia Tech would be ten.
Eleven would probably be we just we just mentioned it.
I'll b b yu. No, my saying is by Texas
and then North Texas. That how I would I would phrase.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
It out, so ole Miss, Oregon and Georgias five, six
and seven yes, tex who's eight?

Speaker 1 (09:11):
B YU No. No.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Eight was a Notre Dame, Oklahoma was nine and then
it was.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
See see that's really interesting Notre Dame. If a Notre
Dame in Ou are nine and eight nine and they
play each other, Yeah, whoever's nine is not going to
be very happy because they think they're gonna be there
a little bit better. And I think O you and
Notre Dame, you can make a case for either one
being eight or nine.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
If Oklahoma wins out.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Though, and even though I don't think that LSU and
Missouri are as quality now as they were a couple
of months ago, you're still ten and two in a
conference that you were six. You were six and seven
last year in Yes, and I think you have enough
conference wins on to based on where you're currently ranked, to.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
Where they wouldn't move you out of the top ten.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
I think right now that that last two win, first
two out type of thing is going to come down
to probably teams like Oklahoma Alabama. I would get more
creams to Oklahoma. B YU is going to be the discussion.
Utah is going to be in there. Are they going
to have a second ACC team depending on how well
Georgia Tech and Miami finish, and that's.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
It's going to come down to that.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
So the ACC champion is either Miami or Miami or
Georgia Tech.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
I think right now today I think Miami might be
the better team, but Georgia.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Tech and Miami would be the eleventh seed. Theoretically, yes,
So Miami the eleventh seed.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Even though they're a conference champion. They're ranked like fifteen
right now, and we have to assume everybody else keeps winning.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
So all right, so that's it.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
I think Ohio State, Aggist, Texas Tech, Indiana one through four, Ole,
Miss Oregon, Georgia, Oh you Notre Dame or Notre Dame?

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Ou? Right? And then who's tend do we say? Slabama?

Speaker 2 (10:43):
I said b yu And then Alabama gets knocked out
for the second year.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
I would not because they because the second year because they.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Lose the Florida State. Yeah, but had they beaten them.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
The Oklahoma loss, I feel like is the most recent
one of it.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
But if they had beaten if they hadn't.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
If they had beaten Oklahoma would be in no.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
But if they hadn't beat if they hadn't lost to
Florida State, they'd still be in even though they lost OU, right,
they would still be But theoretically, oh, you knocked them
out last year when they were six and seven and
which got them a bowl game by beating Alabama.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
Right, So it's iron it's iron twist. But it's the
same reason why Texas, even with three losses, is out.
It's not it's the quality of their losses. Ohio State
and UH and Georgia are quality quote unquote losses. But
you also lost to Florida, and right now your best
win is Vanderbilt. That's your best win.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Yeah, all right, So in that case, ACC gets one
team Big twelve gets one or two if b YU
gets the eleven seed, UH and the out large and
so you got Notre Dameancy at large and you got
you got the Aggies, and you got Ole, miss oh U,
Georgia and out and potentially Alabama.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
Four SEC schools, three Big ten schools, Notre Dame, two
Big twelve schools.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
ACC champion and then the group of five.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Right there you go. There, You're a champion. There it
is right there. I'm kind of happy for the guy.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
I know that North Texas is a big rival for UTSA,
and I don't ever really root for them to win
until the season's over, and I would love for them
to beat the ole Miss in the if they play
each other in a five to twelve matchup.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
But there's some really good people up there that.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
I know well, and I always want I always want
the American Conference to represent that group of five, and
I want them to win it. I want up to
have success and go into an ole Miss, go into
an Oregon and win a game, because when that happens,
it lets everybody know that's possible for that to happen
at UTSA. And if it's not possible, then let's just

(12:41):
not do this anymore, and let's have Division ie FBS
and Division two FBS and the bottom sixty teams play
their own tournament. But if it's possible for you to compete,
and I think it is for North Texas against an
ole Miss team, I think Oregon's better than they are.
I think Georgia is probably bigger and more physical than
they are. An ole Miss isn't isn't small, but I

(13:02):
think they're a little bit more of a finesse team
than the other ones. I think North Texas can hang
with them. And what I saw this weekend or didn't
see or heard. I cannot kind of imagine how South
Florida played that well against UTSA and then let Navy
score forty one on them.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
That's just ridiculous, all right.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
The Baseball Hall of Fame Committee has released all of
the names for this year, including those in the contemporary
era that have not been yet been added to have
not been made a Hall of Fame member, we'll tell
you about who they are and who I would vote
for coming up on the ticket.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
