Speaker 1 (00:03):
The Boston Celtics tendings free is over and their fire
sale is in full mode.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Right now.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
They are shopping Jalen Brown, and they're shopping Dery White.
They obviously probably would like to shop Jason Tatum, but
he's not going to play for a year, so they
probably won't have any takers on that, at least not
at market value. I love Jalen Brown, but his salary
the next four years fifty three million, fifty seven million,
sixty one million, sixty four million, two hundred eighty five

(00:32):
million over the course of the next three years.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I'm sorry. I'm not going to put my team at risk.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
I'll I'll talk about this situation a little bit more
because it impacts the Denver Nuggets and the Denver general manager.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Is it Stan Kronk.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
No, it wasn't the general manager. It was the owner,
his owner, owner's son, basically Jeremy Kronk.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Jeremy Okay, I believe he.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Basically came out and said something about maybe having to
trade jokicen years ahead, which really upset the Denver fans.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Stupid. It wasn't a great thing to say.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
But I'll go back to where I started the show
with if you look at what the Spurs have done
by listing to trades and saying no is they're building
or a roster that has really good players that are
not being overpaid while we're trying. There's only one Max
Guiet at a time. You're gonna have Fox for a

(01:24):
year or two and by the time this contract starts
to either dwindle down or finish, and then you have
to decide what you're gonna do with him. Now, you
got winby coming in for his deal, and then after
that you've got Castle, and then after that you maybe
have Harper, but you're not going to have to have
three guys making ninety seven percent of the salary cap
in the same year, and that way you can have

(01:44):
a bench. And that's one of the things I think
we're seeing what the Spurs are doing, and I think
it's a great plan because both Oklahoma City and Indiana
were deep teams well.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
And I think the one thing that's also potentially getting
missed in this as well is every year the salary
cap has gone is going to go up, which then
means that salaries are going to go.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Up maybe ten million a year.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
But yeah, but if you still have three guys making
one sixty and it goes up to one seventy.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
I agree, you're still handicapped. No, I completely agree there.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
So you know, maybe when if Shade potentially does get
the eighty two million in two or three years, who knows.
If the salary cap at that point is maybe two
hundred million. We don't know, but there's always that potential.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
It's always going to be predicated by the basketball related income,
and that's projected to go up with a new TV.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Deal that kicks in next year.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
All right, let's go through a mock draft. Here's the
latest that we have. We'll talk about that coming up.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
It's the Andy Average show on the diff
