Speaker 1 (00:00):
B ninety three Morning Show is back together. Mike is
back from vacation. Welcome back, Thank you. Six twenty two.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
I'm Ali Mack, I'm Mike.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Here are three things you should know today. It is
the day that the US Department of Education resuming collections
on defaulted federal student loans. This ends the pause that
went into effect during COVID. So if you have missed
payments for two hundred and seventy days or more, you're
considered to be in default. That means the government can
start involuntary collections, wage garnishment, tax run, tax refund offsets
(00:32):
Social Security benefit reduction. So make sure you check to
see where you stand. Christopher Sure took the stand on Friday,
testifying in his own defense in the second degree murder
trial in the death of Patrick Leoya. Full testimony the
whole video online. It's like two or three hours long.
Cross examination resumes this morning in Grand Rapids. If convicted
(00:53):
surfaces up to life in prison, you've got just a
few days left to update to a real ida before
enforcement begins. Now, if you are planning a flight, that
is really what this effects. This isn't gonna affect like
driving down the road. Or you know, getting into the
bar or things like that. But you're gonna need it
to fly. It's the one with the little star in
(01:15):
the corner. If you don't have it, you got to
bring your passport and make a plan to get to
the Secretary of State's office, bring your documents and update
that because that's like from now on, you got to
have your real ID to fly. You were just at
the airport. You said they were cracking down a few
days early.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
They're looking for him, for sure, And I noticed once
you pull out that, because we had somebody in front
of us that didn't have it. Once you pull out
that real ID, and I'm sure they're doing this on purpose,
but they it's easy, Like they look at it really quick.
They I think they check there's like another picture of
you in the corner, so they double check to make
sure that picture is real, and then you just move on.
It was easy, yeah, But I don't know what it's
(01:54):
going to be like, you know, moving forward in.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
A couple of days. Here. If you don't have your
real ID, you got to bring your passport or there
are a couple other documents that you can have as well.
Passport seems like the easiest, most likely option that people
would have if they don't have the real ID. But yeah,
we are going to need those from now on. That's
three things you should know. Here is one you probably shouldn't.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
This debate consumed my entire week last week, especially at
the airport, and it was scrolling and I kept seeing this,
could one hundred men beat up or win against one gorilla? No,
obviously I don't want to see this, But theoretically that's
an interesting question because I don't think that the men
(02:34):
would win. I think the gorilla with primary instincts, no
matter how big the guys are, would just win because
they're used to, like I mean, it's primary, like they're
used to their instincts kicking in and just tearing things apart.
And I think the men would run up and we
would lose probably ninety of them before anything actually happened. Well,
(02:58):
a former curator of primates at the Philadelphia Zoo has
weighed in on this debate with like, real life, actual answers.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Because that's what we want. You're right, I.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Don't want, Yeah, nobody wants. I just want to because
I've seen people make great arguments for the fact that
men could win this or the people could win this fight,
and I just don't know what the answer is. But
he says the gorilla, Michael Stern is the guy's name.
He says, a gorilla would see that he's outnumbered and
just run away. That's it. Well, well, obviously, yeah, okay,
(03:32):
But like I've also seen ten thousand Harry Potters versus
ten thousand or one hundred thousand Kermits, and obviously that
in that scenario, it's gonna be way different too. It's
not real. I don't really want this to happen. It's
just an interesting debate.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
I mean, you've seen three hundred.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Right, yeah, you think it'd be like that.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
That's kind of the same promise. Like they were so outnumbered.
I mean it didn't end well for them.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
No, no, no, But I think we would lose a
lot of people, and then the gorilla might get a
little tired. But gorillas aren't as big as I thought
they were either. I thought I was thinking King Kong.
Every gorilla is King Kong. It's not. They're like five hundred. Now,
don't get me wrong, it's still a big gorilla. But
I don't know that we wouldn't at least put up
a fight.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
I think they have those strength testers at john Ball
Zoo where the different animals are pictured and then you
pull on the rope to see who like how strong
they are.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
I think I don't know if they have a gorilla
at john Ballzoo, but I know they have some of them.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
I would love to get. Yeah, I would love because
I think we would hold up a fight. Like twenty
people jumps on this gorilla. I think we're holding their own.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
I don't know. I might pay to watch it on
paper V though.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yeah, it would be a good fight.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Better it wasn't totally inhumane to subject to gorilla. To
that the guys, I don't really care about it. Guys,
you guys would sign up for it willingly. You chose
that left, you'd sign the consent the gorilla be ninety
three Sports Tigers.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
