Speaker 1 (00:40):
It's another special edition of the Babyfaces podcast here on iHeartRadio,
Official pro wrestling podcast of iHeartRadio. Louisill Power by ninety
seven to five. WAMZ joined with another very special guest,
a three time friend, which officially makes you a best
friend of the show, WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Welcome to the show. How are you doing today, Tiffy?

Speaker 4 (01:02):
I'm doing great, third times as harm How.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Are you right?

Speaker 1 (01:06):
We're hanging in there, busy. I had a golf scramble yesterday, Tiffany.
Are you big into golf at all? You ever go
out on the golf course?

Speaker 2 (01:12):
No, but I did used to work on a golf course,
so I know like a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Of the game. Oh okay, gotcha. I was standing out
in the sun. It was burning.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
I was hanging with the radio crew, and it's one
of our longest days of the year.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
So today's just a recovery day. I'm glad that we
get do this.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Did you ask me a question?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
I'm sorry, Oh no, no, no. I was sitting here trying
to pull something up. I didn't know if Brian had
anything to say, but I guess we'll just go ahead
and get into it. We're coming off of us, We're
coming off the Summer Slam just a couple of weeks ago.
We just had your opponent that you beat, Jade Cargill
last week, So I just kind of wanted to get
from you what was Summer Slam like from your perspective

(01:49):
and retaining your women's champion. And I guess another question
on top of that is something that we alluded to
with Jade. There's a lot of online hate and criticism
for every especially when they don't get the match that
they desired or anything like that. But I thought that
you guys put on a really good match, even though
for being seven minutes. Is there anything that you had

(02:10):
underestimated about Jade, or when you walked away from that match,
you're going, you know what, She's actually better than I expected.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
No, I think fully walking into this, I knew what
Jade can do. I think people, I think other people
underestimate Jade, and I feel like I overestimated Jade, and
that's why I pulled through and I won. Going into
Summer Slam, I was so nervous. It was my first
Summer Slam ever, so that alone was just so nerve wracking.

(02:40):
But thankfully I pulled through and I beat little Miss
Jay Cargel.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Yeah, it was like I said, I know, it was
a little bit short of a match, but I thought
even with the seven minute time spin, I thought both
of you guys were able to showcase what you do.
I mean, as we said before before we started the show,
you look like a million bucks. Jade looks like a
million bucks. Sometimes that's what's wrestling is based off of
two large and live characters getting in the ring, and
yet sometimes you don't need a forty minute story. So

(03:07):
I just thought that was really good. I might be
Internet Internet Crime number one, because everybody wants the five
star thirty five minute matches now, But I thought you
guys did what.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
You had to do.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
I feel like we didn't have this like insane like
life or desk story going into SummerSlam, So I didn't
really feel like we needed this, like you said, an
insane forty minute long match. I thought it was a
very competitive match. It was very fast, and I think.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
That's all we really needed.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
So I'm actually really pleased with how my match went
at SummerSlam with Jay Cargo.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Yeah, yeah, I agree one hundred percent. Now every match
needs to be a clinic and I'm cool with that
piggybag of of that. Right, how do you how do
you navigate online criticism? Your rise has been very fast,
and social media can be very brutal with the too much,

(04:04):
too soon narratives? Right, how do you separate constructive criticism
from noise and let backlash get to your head?

Speaker 4 (04:13):
That's a good question.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
So I definitely would say, like when I first got
called up, like I felt like people were nice to me.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
And then as you kind of.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Get pushed, as you kind of get put into like
that top role, people kind of turn on.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
You a little bit.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
And for me, I have become very good at like
not even checking social media anymore.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
I literally just scroll.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
On TikTok and I have like such a good support system,
Like my friends and family are so amazing to me,
and they always like reassure me if I do have
doubts within myself. I think ultimately just like knowing your
worth and if you believe the good, you have to
believe the bad. So you have to kind of like
take the criticism sometimes and.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
Apply it and just be self aware.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
But for the most part, I think staying off of
socials has really saved my mental and honestly, like people talking.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
About me on the internet in a bad way, I.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Think it's kind of silly because I feel like those
people would never be in my position. They would never
be the WW Women's Champion, So why would I be
taking criticism or advice from somebody who I would not
switch places with. So that's my take on it.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
So great, And you got another good question, Ryan, how
about that rights?

Speaker 5 (05:35):
So she goes good question, that's.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
What worriment for. It's better than horrible question.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Next right, Well, another thing that I kind of wanted
to touch up on. Well, actually we're here with Tiffany Stratton
WW SmackDown Women's Champion SmackDown also coming to Heritage Bank
Arena in Cincinnati October third. Tickny, I'm going to be
spending my bachelor party weekend up there. We're kicking it
off with wrestling and we're just gonna paint Cincinnati red the.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Next couple of days. No way, it's going to be awesome.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Awesome that a bachelor party with some wrestling.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Oh yes, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
We're at least half of the two thirds of the
groom's party is showing up, so I'm making them go.
Three or four of them we're still wrestling fans. The
other We're going to convert them into wrestling fans that
week once once they see it live. It's that's why
I tried to tell everybody watch it live and then
come shirts.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Arrange that we will arrange that. That's it.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
They're not sold out already, and you know, it's hard
to get some Tiffany strat I'm still trying to find
the Tifney Stratton action figure.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
They're gone everywhere that I look.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
Are they really?

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Yes? I can.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
I cannot find one to save my life. That's like,
I want to get one of every friend of the
show that we have, and I just can't find you,
So I'm keeping my fingers crossed at Walmart.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
I know that.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Yeah, definitely, thank you. I need that good luck. I
wanted to get to what we also talked with Jade.
The evolution to such a big monumental moment for women's wrestling,
and you're a part of the new movement going up there.
You faced off against Tris Stratus, someone that you've admired
back in the day. What was that match sort of like,
I mean, you were getting Tris Stratus, you were getting

(07:13):
the chick kick, you were getting the stratisfaction, like she
gave you everything. What was it like coming away from
that match? And did you guys share any special moments
afterwards kind of the past and the future, kind of
looking at what you guys have made with the Evolution
pay per view.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
I think the whole like journey to Evolution for me
with Trish was just special.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
I felt like there was no bad blood the entire time.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
It was just kind of like new generation versus old generation,
and we both understood that. And going into the match,
I was very nervous once again, like I always get
nervous for all of my matches no matter what. But
it's Tris Stratus like I'm wrestling Tris stratas that evolution too,
So that in itself was just such a statement and

(07:57):
such a like.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Just something to have on my resume. And even if
I didn't win, and.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
You know, like the opposite outcome happened, it still would
have been such a good moment for me in my career.
So Trisa and I are still very cool.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
I love Trash.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
She's amazing, and my match with her, I felt like,
was also amazing.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
I had so much fun the entire.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Time, and that crowded evolution was seriously like one of
the most best cross I've ever been in front of.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
That's awesome.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
Evolution was a great match. You and Charlotte, I think
was also great. Those are two living legends that you've
been compared to a lot, right, So my question is
how do you deal with being compared to people as
big as them and who else that you get compared with?

(08:54):
Do you want to put to rest and be like
you could compare me on y'all want, but I'm the champ.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
It's stif time.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
I think the comparisons are more so compliments. It's anything
like to be compared to Charlotte Flair and Detristratus, Like
that is such a compliment.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
They're both two amazing, beautiful.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Wrestlers, and I feel like those were kind of like
the biggest two people.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
That I have been compared to.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
I don't really know if there's anybody else, maybe Kelly
Kelly or I think like for the most part it's
Kelly Kelly. That would be really cool if she came back.
But moving forward, I think I would love to wrestle
Rhea Ripley or Becky Lynch.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
I think I got to get my link back with
Becky Lynch.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
She checked the title off of me in NXC I
No Mercy, and I think it's time for a little
redemption moment.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
That would be a great match.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Bro Oh yeah, I would totally look forward to seeing that.
That is definitely a match that could headline wrestle Mania.
That's definitely the headline one or Night two of a
Royal Rumble possibly if they ever make that, or Summer
Slam coming up. But it looks like we got to
get through Overseas right. We got Clash of Class Paris
coming up. You've had a couple of people gunning for

(10:12):
your title all of a sudden, Nia Jacks wants to
get back into things, and then Julia kind of making
an appearance. This may lead to some sort of multi
women match. Do you think even though the odds don't
seem in your favor, You've been a part a lot
of these matches before, do you have Do you think
you have any upper hand going into Clash of Paris,
regardless if it's one female or multiple.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Well, I mean I already have a w Women's Championship,
so of course already have the upper hand. Everyone's kind
of chasing me, which also is kind of scary because
everyone's kind of gunning after me. Like you said, But
I love multi women matches. I've only had a couple
of my career, but I think they're so exciting. That
triple' thread at Russellmania with Ria, Eo and Bianco was

(10:57):
so fun to watch.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
I would love to.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
One have a triple threat as good as that match.
So bring it, girls, let's go so on.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
My theme with asking you a question is always about
the future, because that's what you are to me, You
the future.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Right?

Speaker 5 (11:13):
Oh was the vision for Tiffany Stratus five years from now?

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (11:18):
You know, we we already know that you're the Women's champion,
and that's usually the plateau. But in five years from now,
where do you see yourself?

Speaker 4 (11:28):
It's a very good question. I'm kind of just playing
it by day by day. I would love to go
to RAW and be on Netflix one day.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Yes, I'd also love to main event a WrestleMania.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
I don't know who.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
That would be with, but I think that would be
obviously such an amazing accomplishment. And I just kind of
want to be like a household name. I want people
to know my name outside of wrestling, and I want
my name to just kind of be like, oh, Tiffany Shratt,
like she's as popular as good as like Becky Lynch
or Charlotte Flair. So I think just being a household

(12:08):
name would be really cool and amazing.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Great answer, look at that.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Well, once again, we got a WWE SmackDown Women's Champion,
Tiffany Stratton. It's Tiffy time. You're in the Baby Faces podcast.
We're going to be getting you out of here in
a second, but guys, make sure to go get your tickets. Cincinnati,
October third, Heritage Bank Arena always goes down on a
Friday night.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
There.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Want to get out and see that we're going to
be hanging out some of the baby Face and the
bachelor party. I got two quick, rapid fire questions for you, Tiffany,
before we go ahead and get you out of here. One,
you just introduce a new person to your family, right,
A little puppy dog is The name is Crumble correct Crumble?

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Okay, So what's been the most exciting slash stressful thing
about being a new puppy owner?

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Obviously getting him potty chain would be the most stressful thing.
And then I guess the best thing about him is
that he's so freaking I literally like, I can't get
enough of him.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
I get cuteness aggression, and I just want to please
him so hard. And his fur is so soft. He
is a fluffy mini frenchy and I'm obsessed.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Oh my gosh. Yeah, he's adorable.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
I love how the internet just wentt' an uproar when
you had him with the crumbled cookie.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
And that was what a soft launch for a dog?
Right right, perfect introduction too, right?

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Right?

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Well, one more question to get you out of here.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
I know you're fabulous, I know you're lavish, and this
is no pressure on your significant other right now, but
we talked about me getting married this year. What is
the dream wedding destination for one Tiffany Stratton whenever that
day comes?

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Is I want to say?

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Something tells me it would be a little low key,
but I mean, come on, we'll talking about Tiffany Stratton here.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
That's such a good question. You know, I've never really
thought about that stuff. I don't even know, like what
kind of wedding ring I would like.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Maybe like a beach wedding because I love the beach,
I love warm weather.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Maybe somewhere in like Hawaite or Mexico.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Or I don't know, maybe somewhere in Italy like Lake
Homo or something.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
But I don't know.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
I really haven't thought that far, but definitely something on
a beach.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah, that sounds good, especially if the weather is good
then that could make for the most perfect.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
Well, if you want good weather, you got to do
is go to my country, Dominican Republic are wedding destination?

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Yes, ma'am, that that would be awesome.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Well, whenever, hopefully, whenever that day comes, it's going to
be the most special day in your life. I'm looking
forward to that being the most special day in my life.
Here in a couple of months. Tiffany Stratton WW SmackDown
Women's Champion. Thank you so much again for joining Brian
and myself here in the baby Faces.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
We will see you in Cincinnati.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Thank you guys so much for having me. I'll see
you later.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
We take care, Champ.
