Speaker 1 (00:00):
All Cowboy.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Surprise. All right, My biggest NFL takeaway from the weekend
is that the Cowboys, if they win tonight in Las Vegas,

(00:26):
are half a game behind the Kansas City Chiefs. We're
now five and five and the coubag of three five
and one. You get that win tonight, you're four five
and one. I know they're in the other conference, but uh,
she shows you how close everything everything's all ahead of us.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Ben, This is what I hate about sports. I hate
being in that limbo land, like not really hitting rock bottom,
not really being completely out of it, just hanging there
in the middle of the pack and clinging to hope
and then you get your nuts crushed.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
The NFL is league of that though. It really just
comes down to do you have a quarterback? They do,
and so within one year you can be back in
the mix.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yeah, it's the league.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
And look, it's the weirdest thing ever that their offense
was so good and their defense was legendarily bad, like
maybe the worst ever. But they've now suddenly offense has
struggled a little bit, which is a little bit worsome, worsome, worrisome.
It's worrisome regular But there are six new bodies coming

(01:33):
that could help the defense, Quentyn Williams, De Marveian Overshown,
Logan Wilson and his wife and their podcast uh Savon Rebel,
the rookie who's finally healthy ready to get back out there,
and both their starting safeties from the start of the year,
Donovan Wilson and Malie Hooker. So you got six new
bodies to maybe help the worst defense that's ever been assembled.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
So maybe what you this.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Is what's frustrating. I think the most frustrating thing for
me and moving forward with the Cowboys. You just said
to me is exactly why I feel like it's borderline
impossible to evaluate Eberflus. Oh yeah, yeah, I mean, I like,
you don't even really know what he is here.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
You can wipe out the first nine games.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Right, and dude, he is he deserves He deserves some
latitude too, for having the rug yanked out from under him.
Two minutes before the season started, they traded the guy
that the whole defense is based around.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
I think we had a good feel that Zimmer was
in zombie mode and just waiting for McCarthy to get fired,
and he thought he'd get that job because he likes
to fish with Jerry. That's to me, that's a different
situation than this.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, no, I would agree. I can tell you that
our guy John Michoda from The Athletic is already reporting that,
based on his take of walking around the Vegas streets,
that it's going to be a Cowboys home game tonight.
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Well, it's a tourist town, right, there's the locals. I mean,
there's not really a lot of locals there. They're trying to.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
A tourist town who just got their football team from
Oakland a couple of years ago.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah, so it's be a Cowboy game and what a
great trip to make, right, go to Vegas and have
a great time and then catch a Monday night Cowboy game.
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
It is badass.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
So I don't know if all the new guys will play,
Like Malie Hooker and Donovan Wilson are back at safeties
are back. You have Logan Wilson who you traded for
Quinnin Williams will play, clearly Savon Revel. I think they'll
make come active. I think there's a chance they don't.
Overshown will play. He was talking about. Yeah, the coaches
want to keep him on a pitch count, but you know,
close game, I'm gonna go so like he's he's that dude.

(03:31):
He's like everything you want a guy, like, if it's
go time, he'll play. He's a dog.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
And I'm not just saying this because of the Jersey situation.
I think when he's done playing, he'll be rowdy.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Do you know this is according to the Internet. The
Internet told me that the leade negotiator and making him
have zero instead of rowdy was David mulgoletta his agent,
and Michael Parson's agent and George Pickens agent. Really that
David Oglett helped get that done, I don't know. That's

(04:04):
the thing. The Internet's weird.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
He basically said he would have I guess presumably he
would have then had the ability to contact the Cowboys
front office and say, look, man, it's a bad look.
You can't that. My guy wants the number zero. He's
got probably got it tattooed all over his body. It's
very important to him, and you're saying he can't have
it because the mascot has double zero.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
I don't even know your name.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
I'm only talking over shown. I gotta say, I don't
believe it was the thing when he searched for anything
on the internet. Now, what does it give you? Does
it give you sourced articles or does it give you
AI overview? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Oh you don't. You don't believe that Mugolato was the
guy who made it happen. But you do believe that
they didn't let him wear zero because Rowdy had double zero.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
I'm not even sure Mole is his agent. Oh you
know what else?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
I googled it and the Internet told me that the
Dumont Addelson family is moving the Mavericks to Vegas. Now,
so the internet's on fire.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I think they I think they will win. Let's get
your official uh click picks to click click picks.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
It's tough to say.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Yeah, click Cowboys thirty four, Raiders twenty one.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Yeah, Ben, I mean, I don't know, man, Oh no,
I don't know. The NFL is just such a coin
flip league. You know, how do you even analyze this
game knowing that the Cowboys have one of the worst
defenses in the history of humanity? I don't know, man, Like, seriously,
it's so weird. It's I hope they win. I look,

(05:40):
I want them to win, but I also want them
to have the number one pick, so it I'll be
happy either way. If they lose, I'll be yes, we're
getting a great pick. If they win, I'll be yes.
We want There's a team with one win in the NFL.
Right now, here's what's gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
We're gonna witness another Pete Carroll masterpiece. But the Cowboys
will win. Thirty one is having ten. We're all gonna
be very happy about that.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Stina, I had Cowboys win as well, but twenty eight
twenty one?

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Alright, alright, there is there, sir, picture like, all right,
there you have it. There's cussing the Cowboys coming up next.
Why is downtown Dallas being shut down? We'll discuss in
three minutes. Don't go anywhere

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
