Speaker 1 (00:01):
See number one talk show in the Ohio Valley. This
is the bloom Daddy Experience. Your host, bloom Daddy. His
goal inform, entertain and tick people off. The bloom Daddy
Experience on news radio eleven seventy WWVA starts now the.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Bloom Daddy Experience. It's seven oh six on news radio
eleven seventy spring. Let's bring on Jim or Nacy, former
congress in bloom Daddy Show. Glue.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Let's not. Let's bring on Sam. Little technical areas, the
little technical difficulties are apologies. Hey, good Thursday morning. It's
seven oh six. Just like he said, he got he
got that right. Anyways, it is seven oh six on
your Thursday if you follow us on Facebook. For us,
this is our Friday because Otis and I decided to

(00:55):
give us ourselves an extra long weekend or Memorial Weekend.
So we're gonna be a little lighthearted today, not too lighthearted,
because the holiday we are coming upon is heavy. There
is way more behind, of course, of course, Memorial Weekend

(01:18):
than hot dogs and hamburgers and pool parties and an
extra day offul work. So with that being said, I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Think anybody's having a pool party fifty one degrees. Oh yeah,
that's true.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Yeah, as I'm sitting here in a hoodie. Yeah, you're right.
But with that being said, for those who want us,
we would love the opportunity to honor friends, family of
those served in our military. Doesn't matter what brand posted
this last night on our Facebook page. But there are

(01:49):
multiple ways for you to reach us. Of course, you
can comment on our Facebook posts. You can text us
three zero three eight to two started off for the
bloom Daddy, and then also you can go old school
and call us one eight hundred six two four eleven seventy. Again,
that's one eight hundred six two four eleven seventy and

(02:13):
just name military, uh, where they served, if they served
in battle, any of the any of the details you'd
love to give us, We would love to hear those
and honor those who served. So again, if you're comfortable
and you would like to, or if you have a story,
maybe you had a grandfather that served in World War Two,

(02:34):
or an uncle or an aunt, or you know, any stories,
because unfortunately, as time goes by, we have and we
continue to lose those that were part of the Greatest
Generation or even prior to that, we're losing those stories
and those are the stories we need to continue to tell.

(02:57):
So if you were lucky enough to know some stories
about a loved one and you would love to share,
we would love to hear those from you. So we
are honoring those a little bit early for Memorial Weekend.
With that being said, wanted to I want to kick
off the show this morning, Otis with some good news

(03:19):
a little honor for young people here in the High Valley.
This is a fantastic story. This is the first I
heard of this initiative that they do, but this is
out of the Indian Creek area. This combines Hills Elementary
and Indian Creek High School. These young people team up

(03:42):
with Trinity's Tony Taramana Tara Mana Cancer Center. This started
ten years ago, this project, and what they do is
they gather different things, for example, different items puzzles, food snacks, blankets, socks,

(04:03):
anything that would make cancer patience, chemo patience comfortable during treatment.
If you know anybody who has been through chemo, it
is long and it is hard. It is a horrible
draining process. But these young people, starting ten years ago,

(04:25):
came up with this idea of chemo care bags. So
earlier this week, students from Indian Creek High School dropped
off almost two hundred of these chemo care bags to
the Tony Taramana Cancer Center. Kudos to you young people.

(04:49):
It's a fantastic initiative. As I said that, it started
to ten years ago, and I just wanted to highlight
and mention these students the work, the effort, the time,
the consideration to continue this project. But to get to
the point where it's almost two hundred care bags, great job,

(05:12):
great job. There's nothing like starting off the morning with
some with some good news to those kids. Fantastic, fantastic initiative,
and to carry it on. Good for those young adults,
Good for those young adults. We have had an interesting

(05:32):
morning in here so far this morning, Otis, would you
like to tell me the story, tell the story that
you told me this morning about our new studio, pal
Poonco and his little wife an adventure from yesterday last night. Yeah,
because I think we are now experienced the after effects

(05:54):
of this.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
So one of those bad habits is he likes to
get into the garbage. And I didn't really have a
whole lot of garbage, but he got into it. There
was some shredded cheese that I forgot to put away.
It was just the end of the bag, so that's
why I kind of probably forget to put it away.
I'd made an omelet yesterday and so he got into that,
and somehow on the industrial sized peanut butter that I have,

(06:20):
which is like Sam's club size, it's like the eight
dollar one. Okay, yeah uh, And it was probably about
a third of the way fool somehow he got the
lid off of it, and probably eight ninety of the
peanut butter that was in left in the jar.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
So that's a lot of peanut butter.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
He's sharing the peanut butter with us right now.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
I will say this, Otis and I sit in two
separate rooms. We we lovingly gaze upon each other through
a window.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
I wouldn't go lovingly, I wouldn't say gaze. No, I mean,
like we make eye contact, but there's no gazing.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
I was. I was painting the narrative. I was. I
was painting the picture.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
I'm trying to paint the reality.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
But between us is the window. And then there's also,
of course a door. I have made it abundantly clear
that the door needs to remain closed and he gets
pongo this morning. Oh yeah, because there's.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Some peanut butter air biscuits floating around.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
I didn't tell you my story from this morning.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
I can't wait, so walk out.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Of my garage. Funny ha ha. Raining miss missing wasn't
exactly rain missing. And our landscaping we we do not
do mulch. I hate maulch. We have these oh I

(08:01):
hear that funny ha ha ha. We have river rocks, right,
So my dog likes to kick and dig at those
river rocks. And they're all different colors. They're white, they're gray,
they're tan, they're just whatever. So I see what I
see this thing. I think it's a rock. And I
wasn't paying attention. I was walking back and forth to
my car. I step on it. It was not a rock.

(08:25):
Can you guess what it was? It was? It was yep, yep,
I am. I took a life this morning. It was
so gross, so gross. I stepped on a toad. I
hope there's not like some sort of bad luck that

(08:47):
goes with that that I've I've I've brought myself bad
juju for the weekend. I don't know, but I.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Did feel lucky we had those to that story.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
We were talking about your dog.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
You brought it up.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
I did passing gas. I did bring it up. Just
everybody knows what our studio is like this morning. We
have dead toads.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
No, we don't have dead toads in the studio.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
No I did. I did wipe my shoe off. Yeah yeah,
that was uh yeah, So I'm a murderer this morning.
What a way to start the morning. I hope you
enjoyed that story. Oh it is seven point fifteen. Again,
we are honoring those this morning. Comment on our Facebook page,
give us a call one hundred and sixty two for
eleven seventy, or of course you can text us three

(09:35):
zero three eight two seven fifteen. On this Thursday morning,
you're listening to the bloom Daddy Experience salmon Otis News
Radio eleven seventy w w VA. Welcome back seven twenty
one on this Thursday morning. Thank you for tuning in

(09:57):
the bloom Daddy Experience salmon Otis News eleven seventy WWVA.
So we're going to have another chance to win in
the show a pair of tickets to see Travis Tritt
here at West Banco Arena. We're gonna do exactly what

(10:18):
we did yesterday. We're gonna use the text line.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Or the other day that was yesterday? It was yeah, No,
I thought it was the other day.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
It was yesterday. Okay, three zero three eight two.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Oh, yeah, you're right, it was For whatever reason, I
was thinking that we did that on Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
No, no, that was yesterday. Three zero three eight two
is the number. Then in the body of the text
you put bloom Daddy to start the message. That's how
the system gets it to us. And then we just
need your name and phone number and that will be
your entry for your chance to win.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Who is our winner yesterday?

Speaker 3 (10:52):
That's what I was getting to So we let it
run yesterday.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
And at the end of the show we picked a winner.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
We picked a winner because we ran out of time,
and it takes a little bit longer than.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
You know because you get to count them and everything else.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Right, So if you entered yesterday, you can enter again today.
But our lucky winner from yesterday is Ronda. So Ronda,
I will be getting in contact with you after the show.
Hopefully you're winning. Hopefully you're listening and you're going yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
So you're.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Real exciting five Ronda's So Ronda, just give her the
last initial N.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
N is in no not to m N is in no.
So Ronda, I will begin Nda N Ronda N. I
will be getting in contact with you. You are our first winner.
This is from yesterday, So if you enter yesterday, your
name is not Ronda N. Enter again for today. We're

(11:50):
going to be doing that through out the show and.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
We will announce a winner at the end.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Of we will, yes, we will be.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
So you have up until the last segment.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Yeah, so there you go to register and don't forget. Also,
it's Thursday, so it is also Kirk's ice cream day.
Guess the gallon. I made it easy. I made it easy.
Only one flavor this time you have to figure out.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Well, that's super easy.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
It's super easy.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
So aning that did he not make enough ice cream
for you to take a picture of it was slacking.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
He's slacking.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
He's slacking, Judy, you gotta get on him.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
So go get our Facebook page, Guess the gallon and uh,
we'll get you registered and see if you are the
lucky winner for that. So we are feeling quite generous, which,
by the way, on our text line speaking of Kirk
and Judy and that whole Kirk's ice Cream had a
message had to question what a listener asking what is

(12:46):
going on behind the ice cream store. There's heavy equipment
and there's a lot of dirt being moved. So I
happen to have some pretty good contacts at Kirk's ice
Cream and reached out, and what they are doing there
are expanding They're.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Building an ice cream factory.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Oh god, don't.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Kurts Hard just stopped. Judy's going, oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
No, for the truth, I will tell you, he stroked out.
The truth is actually they are expanding the drive through
area that goes around the back of the building. It's
not exciting. I mean it's exciting, but it's not like,
you know, groundbreaking. And they are extending the parking lot

(13:36):
and the outdoor seating area like where the pavilion is
right there. So that's what's currently going on. So everybody rades.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Well, yeah, just nothing.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Hey, the bigger you get, the more parking usually that's
a good thing there. So for everybody was wondering and
worrying about what was happening there. You have it, that's
what's going on. Speaking of food, here's a weird stat
for you. Well, first of all, I put this on
our Facebook page since we're being lighthearted today and having
some fun along with all Right, I'm done, I'm done.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
What was your question, I'm leaving. I'm leaving. No, what's
your guilty pleasure? Food? What is your one thing that
like you treat yourself to. It's like you're a little
personal reward if you've done something good for the day.
Now you're on a journey right now, you've been But I.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Still, I mean, I still, I will still have a
little snacky poo, still snacky poo. Yeah, like I mean
I had. I had a little bit of vanilla ice
cream with some caramel syrup on it the other day.
Not a lot, but just just statis just to hit
that craving. And then after Easter, and I didn't realize this,

(14:57):
but KitKat puts out a limit Lemon Crisp KitKat for Easter.
It's not as good as the key Line kit Cat,
but neither sound good too. They were on sale. They
were on clearance because it was considered Easter candy. And
I bought a box which is twenty four kit cats
and they are in my refrigerator right now. And I
think I bought that about Easter was April twenty second

(15:20):
or something like that, somewhere twenty fourth something like that.
So it's been a month and I think I've had
four at the twenty four, so one a week.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Well, you have better restrength than I do.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Man.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Oh, they're good too, fit last Like if I wouldn't like,
they'd have been gone by now in the real world,
if I'd have been living in the real world. But
now that I'm doing all this stuff and speaking off
my personal journey, Yeah, if you're interested in improving yourself,
we will be talking to Grayson Lewisy from g LO

(15:53):
Strength and Thickness. He'll be coming up after the break.
He's got a summer challenge for you. It's ten dollars
a week. He'll put you on a nutrition program and
give you an exercise program to get you in shape
and maybe lose a few pounds. So Grayson's going to
join us in the next segment.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Wonderful, wonderful. Well, back to the fun topic, the guilty
pleasure food. So most Americans say ninety seven percent of
Americans admit to having a guilty pleasure pizza, ice cream, chocolate,
and candy bars top the list with most people. Forty
percent of Americans say that the smell of pizza. They

(16:35):
use it as comfort. Having a bad day, you want
to feel a little bit of comfort. Pizza smell next
candle flavor, smell of pizza.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
You know, it's funny because sometimes like.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
I'm taking that, that's my idea. Nobody can steal it.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Sorry, that's Harry. Sometimes when you go by a Burger
King and you smell the CHARTBROI.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Burger, I'm out of the roof.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Yeah, yeah, it's uh, that's a. That's a. That's a
because it just reminds you of like barbecue and grilling.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Yeah, oh no, I don't eat a whole fresh break
bread at Nichols and Martin's Ferry seven twenty eight. You're
listening to The bloo Daddy Experience Sam and Otis News
Radio eleven seventy w w v A seven thirty six.

(17:27):
The bloom Daddy Experience Otis and Sam News Radio eleven
seventy w w VA. If you tune in on a
regular basis, which we hope you do, you've heard this
voice before, and you've heard Otis reference him because Otis
is on his journey and Grayson, Grayson Lewisy, who's joining
us now, has been an integral part of everything that

(17:50):
Otis has been doing. So Grayson, good morning.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Hey, good morning.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
How you got it going? We're going well, thing's going
over there going good?

Speaker 5 (18:00):
Okay, to get the day going?

Speaker 2 (18:01):
There you go, that's that's good. That's good. Hey, let's
we want to get into this. You are offering a
summer challenge at g Low Strength and Fitness for ten
dollars a week, and why don't you explain it to
the listeners.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
So the chal I call it like a challenge, like
a summer fitness challenge, and it's forty dollars. So you
pay the forty dollars one time, and I get you
in the Facebook group and I get you two four
week workout programs with a nutrition plan and an exercise
program to follow. But I'm also offering two days a
week of classes like ten dollars per class, So on

(18:38):
Mondays and Wednesdays at five point fifteen, I'll be doing
you ten dollars classes for those people that signed up
for that challenge, for that program. For that way, it
gives them an affordable option to come in person and
have a program on their own as well.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
And when they sign up for this that you will
adjust their workout to their level of a bill.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Correct, Yes, yeah, With each person, I'll have them do
like a consultation, have a fitness assessment on my website.
But we can do this in person or that we
can talk on the phone text however you want to
do it and go over any like limitations, you know,
modifications that need to be made, and we'll work on
that individually too, so you get a little bit of

(19:20):
individualization out of that. So I'm trying to offer that
for people as well, so that way we can work around,
you know, anything, any problems that the person might.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Have and you and you'll take sometimes you'll take those
problems and work to help strengthen maybe the weakness. For
like for me, where I broke my hip and I still,
you know, have residual effects from the broken hip. You've
you've worked around that and helped me with some stretching
and so on. And we just have somebody that just
came in and said is recovering from a knee injury

(19:50):
and you're you're working with that as well.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
Correct, Yeah, sir, Yeah, I try to just work with
people based upon their level of fitness, anything that they
have going on. I do believe like I can work
around it or help strengthen it as far as you know,
just working smart, like I don't. And I think sometimes
when you think personal trainer, people think that you're going

(20:12):
to get somebody that's gonna push him to the extreme,
like I will push you, but I'm also going to
meet people where they are, Like, you know, if you've
never worked out before, I'm really going to take my
time with you and work with you and try to
like help you as much as I can. And you know,
obviously just you know, really be patient and just try
to help you and make you feel as comfortable in
the gym as I can.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
And when he says that he will push you, he will,
because yesterday he went to the bottom of the list
for everybody that ever sends out Christmas cards because he
made zero friends yesterday.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Okay, so let's let's get to the juice.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
Though.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Let's let's get well, wait, wait, before we go to
the juice, you also are offering a youth training program
correct this summer?

Speaker 5 (20:53):
Yes, sure I am. And that's three days a week,
and that depends. It's Monday, Wednesday mornings, and then I
do a Saturday morning too, and then the youth program
right now, I have like a special monthly price for that,
but that's based upon just like any sport for any athlete,
you know, from middle school all the way up to
high school level, for for all ages basically.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
And I'm there, you have a young man who plays
football at Union Local. I'm just going to mention his
first name. His name's Cole and that and you have
him on a training program and I watch what he
does and how you know, I've been there for about
three and a half four months and Cole's been there
the whole time, and his progression as a young high
school athlete has been phenomenal. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (21:38):
Absolutely, he has put a lot of work in.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Yeah. So and and that's and that's you know, that's
this This program in the summer with the youth could
be an introductory program to where they may want to
sign up for a more detailed, more in depth program. Correct.

Speaker 5 (21:54):
Yes, Yeah, I teach a lot of foundational movements with
these kids, so you know, giving them proper strut sure,
as far as the weight room goes, you know, proper
lifting technique, and then we do some speed and agility,
some fiometric jumping exercise. It's just stuff to like help
them perform better in their sport. And as far as
like injury prevention goes, just understanding landing, breaking stuff like

(22:17):
that with you know, all the running, jumping and cutting
these kids doing their sports, just helping them understand their
body by biomechanically a little bit better and just to
perform a little bit better on the field.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Okay, so talk about performing better. I cannot let this
opportunity pass me by. So Grayson, tell us, tell us
the truth. Has Otis cried yet? Have you made him cry?

Speaker 4 (22:46):
I think yesterday was probably the closest it was closed.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Yesterday. I'm not gonna lie. I still can't lift my
arms over my head.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
And I told him how many sets and reps. He
definitely gave me the depth there.

Speaker 5 (22:59):
I thought he was coming at me, you got the look.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Well, I wasn't coming after him, because there's no shot.
I got no shot against Grayson. I'm just going to
tell you that right now. I'm done.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
I think I know, I think I know the look
you're referring to. Grayson. I think I've had that shot
at me a couple of times.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Yeah, well you know, I mean when you said ten
minutes of each one, and I was like, oh good god,
ten minutes. Yeah, what was a minute? One way? Minute?
The next minute back minute, minute, minute minutes, and so
it was actually twenty minutes.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Yeah, I probably give me the look too.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Yeah, well I did have to. I had I had
to take a pause after sixty reps because I ended
up with a hand cramp, so I couldn't I couldn't
hold the dumbell any longer because my hand was cramped up.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
So you know what that he worked up to that.
That's not something that I would just make somebody do. Right,
He's worked up to that. We built up to that,
and I knew he could do it.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
So so how long a lot of four letter words
under their breath yesterday?

Speaker 5 (23:53):
How long have you I could feel it?

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Not directed at you, just directed in general?

Speaker 3 (24:00):
How long have you two been working together? Now?

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Three months since middle of January.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
No, it's even longer than that. Ye, how stubborn is he? Grayson?

Speaker 4 (24:11):
It's pretty pretty easy to deal with us.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
I thought that he does that.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
He doesn't like he'll just give me the look out
of death there, I'm like, I.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Know, well, sometimes he'll tell me to get like he
wants me to up the weight, and I look at
him and I'm going, oh, so you mean like him
may say get to twenty five pound dumbells and I said, oh,
the twenties, and he'll say, no, the twenty five And
I'll say, oh, you said the twenties.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Right, Oh you've done that kind of stuff with meat.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Oh yeah, Well, you know, I figure if I say
it enough times, you might give in. But Grayson never
gives in.

Speaker 4 (24:41):
No.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Every once in a while he will say he will
say like, I'll say, dude, I can't do anymore with
this weight, and he'll say, go ahead and drop down five.
So you know, but that's after like forty raps or
something like that, so where you can't lift your arms.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
And I'll be honest, I see you every day and Grayson,
I can really see. I can really see the effects
not only physically that he's accomplished through working with you,
but I can see him uh uh. I don't want
to say personality change.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
But there's mental Yeah, there's a mental.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
A mental change that has been accomplished too. So God
bless you.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
So before we let you go, Grayson. How can people
if they're interested in the summer challenge, or if they
have kids that want to participate in the youth program,
how do they get a hold of you?

Speaker 4 (25:27):
So the best place is on my Facebook page at
g LO Strength and Fitness, or you can, you know,
look me up on Facebook, send me a message, Grace
and Luisi and just shoot me a message about the
personal training and youth training and.

Speaker 5 (25:43):
The challenge itself, the eight week Challenge for adults.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Wait a second, so you say your last name Luisi? Yep,
we have never since Blue Daddy's been on the air,
we've always said Lois. So I mean that's Blue Daddy's fault,
because that's I just went with what he said, so Luisi. Okay,
all right, Well I mean it's still the same thing. Man,

(26:10):
I feel bad, feel terror, Yeah, Cromedy's sake. Sorry about that. Yeah.
But hey, the other thing. The other thing people can
do is they can contact us here at the radio station,

comments we've received Ellen, Ellen says Albert Wilson, Senior US Army,
World War two Army, Albert Wilson, Junior US Marines and
at the Vietnam War. So thank you Ellen for your post. Again.

(29:23):

in honor for Memorial Weekend, please post Day weekend Memorial
Day Weekend, Please post comment on our Facebook page, or
of course you can send something to our text line
same number three zero three eight two started off with
bloom Daddy or call us one eight hundred six two
four eleven seventy. We would love to hear about local folks,

(29:46):
family members, anybody who has basically protected this wonderful, amazing
country that we are lucky enough to be a part of.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
You know, if you've never had the opportunity, and in
the book's been out for probably twenty five to thirty years,
if you've never had the opportunity to read Tom Brokecause
the Greatest Generation, you should. It is. It's a fantastic
book about the Greatest Generation, those that fought in World
War Two and the follow up. I can't remember the

(30:22):
exact title of the book, but it's the Greatest Generation
and it's letters from people that had read that read
The Greatest Generation, and then they submitted letters about relatives
and family members and neighbors and friends that had fought
in that war and shared their stories and how the

(30:42):
book affected them, or maybe not even about the book,
but one of the in the book with the letters,
or I think it's called The Greatest Generation Speaks is
what I think it's called.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
I'm going to look it up.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
While you there was a story and it was talking
about and you don't you don't really hear this name
too often, and it was talking about the person who
was in the war. Was his name was Liberty to Vito?

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Yes, the Generation Speaks.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Okay, yeah, uh. And so I'm thinking to myself, man,
how do I know that I've seen that name before?
Liberty de Vito? And I couldn't figure out where I
had seen it. Well, once you get to the end
of the story, either the person that they were talking about,
it's either his nephew or something like that. At one
point in time was the drummer for Billy Joel. He

(31:33):
was Liberty to Vito. And then Liberty and Billy had
a party into the ways years ago, and so he's
no longer drums for Billy Joel.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
Did you have anybody that served?

Speaker 2 (31:44):
My grandfather on my dad's side was in the Pacific
in World War Two, was allegedly on the cover of
Time or Life magazine, or may have been in Life magazine.
That has not been confirmedrandmother said that he was, and
at one point in time, I was trying to find

(32:06):
the Life magazine. You know, there's so many of them
from that time period that it's hard to, you know,
just go through them all. But I never knew my
grandfather because he came home from the war. My dad
was born in nineteen forty and I guess when my
dad was fourteen or fifteen, so it had been fifty
five fifty six. Somewhere in there. My grandfather passed away

(32:27):
in a car accident, So I never really I mean,
obviously I didn't know him and didn't hear those stories.
And my other grandfather was, you know, he wasn't able
to go for whatever reason.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
Both my grandfathers served. My one grandfather didn't talk about
it much.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
A lot of them don't.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
The one thing I know is he played the trumpet
to wake everybody up, or the bugle the but yeah, yeah,
he did that, and then my other gradly, my other
grandfather who we lost when I was two, actually just
told stories about him over the trip I had this weekend.
But anyways, that he was the he was the cook.

(33:13):
He was he was the cook and to this day
his special French toast recipe that he made for his
infantry or whatever the term in his unit. Yeah, we
cook every every Christmas morning. Nice, that is our thing.
So both my grandfather served. I don't know how much

(33:35):
action they actually saw, which is fortunate for me, but
they both had unique positions in what they what they did.
So but again, those who want to share stories, we
would love to hear those or just at least acknowledge
and mention.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
As a cook, he may have more horror stories than
the people that were actually out in the field.

Speaker 6 (33:57):
Yeah yeah, and I say jes lighthearted, yes, yes, yes, yes,
yes so, but yeah, we want to hear from you
one eight hundred and six to two for eleven seventy
or comment on our Facebook or our text line three
zero three eight two and one thing I wanted to
mention real quick our show is up on our podcast

Also it's Thursday, so of course it's our guest the
guess the gallon that pictures up on our Facebook page.
Go this time, It's only one flavor. Made it easy
for you, a little bit of a little bit of
a free fun. Make it simple this time. Just guess
the gallon and that will be your submission if you

(35:59):
are correct, and that we will have a little bit
later at the end of the show along with the
Travis Tritt. One thing I wanted to mention I was
contacted yesterday and the day before by a couple different
people who wanted to hear the interview with Michelle from

(36:21):
gold Corey and Turek who is representing a lot of
the former employees from East to Higher Regional Hospital in
that lawsuit, and they missed part of the interview. So
I want to let everybody know and remind you. We
do have our podcast channel on the iHeart app. I
will share that link and each episode is there by date,

(36:43):
so you can go back and listen to anything that
you missed from that day's show. I will post that again.
That's one thing I don't do enough of is remind
everybody about that. So with that being said, want to
let you know about a couple little local stories here.
This is not little. This is you know, been plaguing
our area for a while now, but this time out

(37:05):
of Marshall County. The Sheriff's office wanted to alert everybody
and be aware there is a rise in phone scams.
It seems like every time you turn around, there's another
scam going on. Well now this version impersonators are claiming
to be from Norton Anti Virus or PayPal. So if

(37:29):
you get any of these phone calls, please be alert,
Please report to the Sheriff's department. These calls, they are
claiming when they call you that there are problems with
your computer or your online accounts. So it's kind of
like a twofold way they try to get at you again.
They are claiming that there's an issue with your computer
or some of your online accounts, and what they do

(37:51):
is they then attempt to steal your personal information or
gain access to your devices. So once again, do not
give any personal infot or allow access to your computer.
Reputable companies like PayPal, like Norton Anti Virus, they are
not going to randomly call you on the phone and
ask you to have access to your computer. If you

(38:16):
want to verify if a phone call is real. The
Sheriff's Department recommends hang up and calling the company using
the number from its official website. So hang up on
this person, go to the website of the company they're representing,
and say I just got a phone call from you,

(38:37):
calling to verify, and they will then walk you through things. Also, again,
do not share personal information, especially passwords, social Security numbers,
bank details, birth dates, any of that kind of stuff.
Do not share any of that with some random person
that calls you on the phone and then also report things.

(38:58):
The only way entities like the Marshall County Sheriff's Department
or Belmont County Sheriff's Department, the only way they know
this is going on is when it's reported. So if
you do get any type of phone calls like this,
please pass it along to authorities. A little bit of
good news for those in Wheeling, the city has approved

(39:23):
to allocate thirty five thousand dollars for resurfacing of pickleball
courts at Patterson in Elm Grove. The courts they were
formerly tennis courts. This seems to be happening a lot
to a lot of old tennis courts. They were formerly
tennis courts and they are now going to be repaved
into or resurfaced into pickleball courts. I am not a

(39:48):
pickleball player. I'm one of the anti pickleball players. Have
you ever done it?

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Yeah? I actually competed in pickleball in the.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
Transport perhaps right, I forgot about that.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
So I did that.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
But are you doing it again?

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Maybe in Denver. That's where next year's games are. They
don't do it in the international Games.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
So oh, pickleball hasn't made it to the international though yet.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
No.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
So my partner, while he's probably twenty or twenty one,
he's probably twenty now, so I and in the way
that it works, like he doesn't come into my age group,
which at the time I'll be how old will I be,
I'll be fifty nine, I'll be I'll be in my
sixtieth year. But I'll be fifty nine at the next
Transplant Games in Denver, and so he'll have I'll have

(40:37):
to go down and play in his group, which would
probably be the twenty to twenty nine age group. So
that's it. But I'm in a little better shape than
I was last time. So and but I need to
get out and play a.

Speaker 3 (40:50):
Little more pickleball Graceon. Did you hear that next year
you're gonna have to start training for pickleball? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (40:54):
I know, I just you know who I need to
call was j T. Thomas. They run a pickleball CA.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
Yeah, he's like the pickleball.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
And he and our friend James Carson. M hm, so
you're a friend of the show.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
It doesn't, doesn't JT. Uh kind of give people a lesson, like.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
A y Well, they have a pickleball introductory camp, I believe,
so that takes place at the Highlands. And Sam just
took a nice gulp of water that went down the
wrong way, So I'm gonna turn her mic off while
she chokes to death. And but yeah, yeah, j T

(41:36):
and Uh. I think there's a handful of them. They're
in a pickleball league. And then they turn around and
share their.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
Knowledge completely the wrong pipe with.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
Those that maybe are just getting into the pickleball scene.
It's actually, you know, it's it's it's it can be
a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (41:56):
Oh, my father is obsessed with it. He loves it,
loves it.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with it.

Speaker 3 (42:04):
So, oh he has special shoes. Special are they called rackets.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
What are the paddles paddles, paddles, rackets, whatever, yeah, something,
you can call him.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Whatever you Yeah, he has all that kind of stuff.
Here's how about I'm gonna quiz you. So you tend
to quiz me on historical entertainment stuff, and you know,
make fun of me because when you asked me about
a TV show from the fifties, I don't know it. Okay,
So on this day in history in nineteen ninety two,

(42:36):
what show ended a thirty year run?

Speaker 2 (42:40):
Thirty year run, nearly.

Speaker 3 (42:43):
Thirty year career as a host?

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Oh ninety two he was a host? Johnny Carson.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
Yes, I gave it away with the host comment. Yeah,
so I kind of gave that away.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
Yeah, I would have never gotten it if you said
I was thinking game show when you said host. Oh
my first the first thought was Bob Barker, but I
knew that it was later than that for Bob.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
What did they call it? The late night wars about
who was gonna replace Johnny Late Night?

Speaker 2 (43:12):
Yeah, it was you know, everybody thought it was going
to be David Letterman and then they yanked the rugout
from day Yeah, they did, and they put Jay Leno
in there it.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
Should have been Letterman. So I didn't think Leno was funny.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
Yeah, these moments, I mean, it's different kind of humor.
But if you look back some of these free streaming
services like Pluto and two B and some of these
other ones, you can watch some of the old Tonight shows.
Now they're not like they're they're edited.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
I remember being in college and having roommates that would say,
it's time for Johnny to go. It's time for Johnny
to go because he's not funny anymore. But he was
still he was still the best at what he did.
I didn't necessarily agree with that, but everybody, you know,
you're twenty one, twenty two years old, and everything's David Letterman.
You know, Dave was more hip. Yeah, Johnny was old school.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
He was younger. He fit into the right.

Speaker 2 (44:11):
It did stupid pet tricks he did, you know, did
he did de velcro suit, the Alka Seltzer suit. I
mean at the top ten, the top ten, whatever top
ten list was.

Speaker 4 (44:20):
You know.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
So I had more modern music. Yeah, didn't have the
big band type thing.

Speaker 3 (44:25):
The newer celebrities, the younger celebrities. Eight sixteen you're listening
to The bloom Daddy Experience. Just a reminder Travis Tritt
tickets ice cream from Kirks. You got a register you're
listening to The bloom Daddy Experience, samon Otis News Radio
eleven seventy WWVA A twenty one The bloom Daddy Experience

(44:52):
salmon OTAs News Radio eleven seventy WWVA mentioned at the
top of the show, Otis and I decided to give
ourselves a extended long holiday break, so tomorrow we will
not be with you. So we are we are. We
are kind of early celebrating Memorial Weekend with you know,

(45:16):
asking folks if you would like us to mention and
honor family members, friends, anybody you know that has has
served to protect this beautiful country that we are all
incredibly lucky to live comfortably in and safely in. We
would love to hear your stories. Randy on Facebook, says

(45:37):
Bill L. Lulini, Senior US Army European Theater World War
Two PAP. PAP fought in Europe and when the war
was over, he was given orders that his men and
he were being sent to Japan to be part of
the invasion of mainland Japan. On his way there, we

(45:57):
dropped the bomb, killing two hundred thousd into three hundred
thousand people, but saving my PAP and millions of Americans
in Japanese from what would have otherwise happened. This is
the story of many families in America today. I was
just lucky enough to get to know it. Thank you
Randy for that message, for that message. Speaking of Memorial Day,

(46:19):
forty five million Americans are planning to travel for Memorial Day,
and one airline has come up with a new travel
arrangement for folks. I don't know if I would do
this now if it was like an hour, maybe two
hours possibly, but to reduce airfare expenses, one airline has

(46:44):
officially launched standing only seats that will begin in twenty
twenty six to increase, of course capacity with the on
the airplane itself, but also lower fares. It almost looks
like a you can't see the picture from where you're at.
Otis looks like the seats you would stand up in

(47:05):
in a roller coaster where they put the harness over
your shoulders. It kind of looks like that. Now if
you're doing a four or five hour trip, I don't
know if I would want to fly that way, but
an hour maybe two, not bad. Would you do it?

Speaker 2 (47:19):
I'd have to see it.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
Yeah, yeah, it kind of looks like a roller coaster seating.
But along with that, triple A again predicts forty five
million Americans to travel over the holiday weekend. That's up
one point four million from last year. So but we
also had the good news, was it yesterday we talked
about the gas prices going down for the holiday this week.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
I have no idea. They seem to all run together.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
Yeah we are. Yeah, you had the other thing messed
up earlier. And just a real quick update that the
one big beautiful bill passed the House of Representatives this morning.
It passed as at a two fifteen to two fourteen.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
That's snug.

Speaker 3 (48:08):
That's as tight as you can get. There were two
Republicans that voters voted against it, Thomas Massey from Kentucky
and Warren Davidson from Ohio, and then all Democrats voted
against the bill as well. So a little update on
the big beautiful bill. Yeah, that is uh, that's about

(48:31):
as tight as you can you can sneak through that
you can sneak through on that one. Let me see here,
it was like one too. All sports want to hit
on some sports if you want. Okay, Aaron Rodgers is
in the news, No Steelers Nation, nothing about him signing

(48:51):
a contract with the Steelers. That uh, that has yet
to happen, right, I haven't missed that anywhere?

Speaker 2 (48:57):
Have I?

Speaker 3 (48:58):
Okay? Okay, bye. He is in the news because he
commented on the protecting of women's sports. So there are
there is. There is some momentum in this topic from
a lot of pretty well named known names in sports.

(49:23):
The one thing we're beginning to see there are men
speaking out, which finally is what I'll say. Finally, there
are some large names speaking out with this. But what
Rogers statement, it's a slap in the face to women's athletics.

(49:46):
And then he went on to clarify the trans woman
movement is actually anti woman when it comes to sports,
and he must have been listening to us, because I'm
pretty sure I may well, okay, but I'm pretty sure
I made this argument. You're not seeing trans men dominating anything.

(50:09):
It's because there's a biological difference. I believe I've pointed
that out, where you don't see women pretending to be
men to get ahead in categories like sports. Because physically
there is a difference. So Aaron Rodgers has spoke out
along with this name. If you're a Chicago's Bear fan

(50:30):
or a football fan, you know this name. Brian Urlacker.
He's speaking out too. Why is it even a debate.
A woman is a woman and a man is a man.
You're born with what you're born with. That's about as
simple as you can put it. So listen. It's finally
I'm glad to see that there are bigger names in

(50:53):
sports speaking out, but specifically males, and not that the
voice of female athletes isn't as strong, but when you
hear a name like Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady, there's

(51:14):
just a little bit more behind it, unfortunately, but that's
the way it is. But we're finally starting to hear that,
So thank you Aaron Rodgers. Now give us an answer
on the Steelers A twenty eight. You're listening to the
bloom Daddy Experience. Samon Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA

(51:44):
A thirty six. Welcome back to the bloom Daddy Experience,
samon Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA. All right, this
is your last call. Text three zero three eight two
started off with bloom daddy, name, phone number will be
your registration for your chance to win a pair of

(52:04):
tickets to see Travis Tritt here at the Capitol Theater.
This is the last call because after the next commercial break,
before the end of the show, we will be choosing,
not choosing, but putting in the randomizer of the numbers
of how many people registered and pulling our winner. So

(52:26):
this is the last call. Three zero three eight to two.
Start the message off with bloom daddy and then we
need your name and phone number. Name and phone number,
go back to a couple of little quick sports hits
for you. Were you going to say something? I'm sorry? Look,
oh okay, you looked at me like you were going
to say something real quick. For fans of the NFL

(52:48):
and the Buffalo Bills, which is the dude right, he's
a I knew there was something wrong with him. Yeah,
that's that's minimum. They will be showcased in this season's
HBO Hard Knocks, which tends to be a bit of

(53:12):
hasn't it Yeah, And it's also kind of like a
jinx in a way too. It's not like great. They
will be followed all during training camp and then the
in season, which I didn't even know this went on.
There's an n season version of Hard Knocks which will
be following n f NFC East teams including the Eagles,

(53:32):
the Cowboys, the Giants, and the Commanders. Let's see. Hard
Knocks starts on August fifth, of course on HBO and
HBO Max, the streaming service. So it actually is pretty interesting.
The Browns did it a couple of years ago, which
by that's what I meant, jinks it was interesting. It's
really funny because you get to see these guys be

(53:56):
themselves where they where they raz each other in all
of that. So you know, if you're a fan of football. Also,
speaking of football, the NFL will allow players to compete
in the twenty twenty eight Summer Olympics. Okay, and it's
not track and field, it's not swimming.

Speaker 2 (54:15):
They were they were already allowed to compete in like
track and field because James Jett did it back in
the day, which I think was maybe eighty eight. James
Jett was a wide receiver at WU and then went
on to play for I believe the Raiders, I'm not mistaken,
but he was the alternate in the one hundred four
by one hundred and I mean he was he was fast,

(54:36):
so he was an alternate. He ended up getting a
gold medal I think in Seoul. If I'm not mistaken,
so were Barcelona. I can't remember which, but yeah, so
they're good. But flag football is going to be introduced
into the Olympics in twenty twenty eight, so these guys
are they're getting The NFL gave him permission to the.

Speaker 3 (54:52):
Owners, the league owners gave them the go ahead to compete.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
It's just kind of like it's kind of like when
the Olympics had baseball, and you know, they let Major
League Baseball players compete.

Speaker 3 (55:04):
It's the same thing as the Dream Team with NBA.

Speaker 2 (55:06):
Right, Yeah, but with that they're not in season, you know, so,
so like ninety two was the first Dream Team. Yeah,
and so the NBA players have been playing since and
they're not in season. Neither will the NFL. The NFL
won't be in season either, but the NFL. There's more

(55:26):
of a risk of injury for the NFL. You see
what I'm saying. I think if you get hurt as
an NFL player, you probably have more to lose, unless
you blow a knee out or something in the Olympics
as a basketball player, right, but yeah, I think you
know this hockey has since they they have they have
taken away the that you cannot participate in the Olympics

(55:48):
because they had to take such a long break in
the season. So they had to take like a almost
a twenty day it was, it was more than two
weeks because the Olympics. The Olympics go like fourteen or fifteen, yes,
two plus weeks. Yeah, so you know, they they would
have to take three weeks off of the season because
all the stars were playing in the.

Speaker 3 (56:09):
Olympics, so messed up their calendar.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
Yeah, totally, you know, and then you're you're you're trying
to jam four games instead of three games in a week,
or or five games instead of four.

Speaker 3 (56:20):
And that's hard on the body. I mean, that's hard
on those athletes.

Speaker 2 (56:23):
And the travel, right you know. So, I mean because
baseball is the only one that you know, what they
do is they play a series. So you know, you
go to a city, you're there for three or four days.
Most of the time, sometimes it's two unless you're playing
a makeup or something stupid, but most of most of
most baseball series are three games the NFL, I mean

(56:45):
the NBA and the NHL. There it's a one game thing.
So you like, you might be in Cleveland one day,
in Minnesota the next, and then Orlando the next. You
see what I'm saying it it gets a little hectic.

Speaker 3 (56:57):
Oh imagine, I mean, you know what it feels like
to travel, that it's hard and that that.

Speaker 2 (57:04):
Well, these guys aren't flying coach no, but still yeah,
they're not sitting in the airport for two and a
half hours waiting to board and things like that. They
have their own they have a charter.

Speaker 3 (57:13):
Yet they fly a little bit more.

Speaker 2 (57:15):
They found they are a little.

Speaker 3 (57:16):
More in style than you and I.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Other NFL news from yesterday actually two stories that you
have the tush push oh that has it's going to remain.
The vote to ban it obviously failed, so it fell
to vote. Shy needed twenty four. They only got twenty two,
so you know, it is what it is. Yeah, you know,

(57:41):
I'm not a fan of it, but what are you
going to do?

Speaker 3 (57:44):
Right?

Speaker 2 (57:45):
And the other thing is Jim Mersey from the Indianapolis Colts,
the owner passed away yesterday, so his last tweet was
to the ownership group and the Indiana Pacers, wishing them
luck because the the in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

Speaker 3 (58:02):
Yes, oh, I thought we made it to the championship.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
They're playing the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Speaker 3 (58:07):
Once the Calves were out of it, I kind of lost.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
I don't really pay attention, but I just happened to
know that former WU players do some bride plays for
the Knicks. Oh so that connection, I had that connection. Yeah, yeah,
it pops up on my Facebook feed from Mountaineer Nation
or what Mountaineer Sports or WVU Athletics.

Speaker 3 (58:26):
Or something connected to it. It pops up. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
So yeah, that's the one thing nice about WVU Athletics.
They you know, if somebody does something nice or get
signed to an NBA or an NFL contract, they normally
make an announcement just to kind of help promote the
you know, the players just overall. Yeah, just like wishing
them lucky, congratulations.

Speaker 3 (58:46):
And wanted to we just got another Facebook post. Wanted
to put this out there. As I said, we're talking
about Memorial Weekend a little bit early. We are taking tomorrow.
We're going to give ourselves an extended weekend, so we
are highlighting those who have served from Bill, Bill says,

(59:07):
Earl E. Wesley killed in Action Pacific Theater nineteen forty five,
earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Once again, Earl E.
Wesley killed in Action, Pacific Theater nineteen forty five, Bronze
Star and purple Heart. I've heard about the purple heart.
I am not familiar with the bronze star, are you?

Speaker 5 (59:28):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (59:29):
I mean, I'm familiar with it. I don't know what.

Speaker 3 (59:31):
Would you have, but the goes in the criteria. Yeah,
I'm not real. I hate to say that, I am
not real up on. I'm looking at it now. Is
that what you're doing? I hear you're typing? Uh.

Speaker 2 (59:45):
It's an active merit or meritorious service. It's the fourth
highest combat award.

Speaker 6 (59:49):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (59:51):
Is the United States Armed Forces Decoration awarded two members
of the United States Armed Forces for either heroic achievement
and then it cuts off my pants here or meritorious
service in a combat zone.

Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
So I believe our friend Bill Carpenter has one.

Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
Oh, Bill Carpenter in.

Speaker 2 (01:00:13):
The Orangu tank tank.

Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
I was gonna say, chimpanzee. I knew that wasn't the
right monkey primate primate. Okay, so okay, mister zoologist again,
big head worthless knowledge? Who was the woman Gorilla's in

(01:00:35):
the miss? What was that scientist? That's it? You are right, big.

Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
Head worthless knowledge.

Speaker 3 (01:00:42):
Gosh do we have Kevin coming up? Okay? All right?
Good because I have a good I have a good
what day it is today?

Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
Boy?

Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
And I'm gonna see if he can he's listening.

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
Be careful, but be prepared.

Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
It's not bad, but it's a good one. See if
he can come up with something good. All right, this
is it final call. Give you five minutes three zero
three eight two.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
We will be drawing after Kevin.

Speaker 3 (01:01:05):
Yes, we'll be drawing after Kevin for a pair of
tickets to see Travis Tritt right here at the Capitol Theater.
Three zero three eight to two. Started off with the
bloom Daddy name and phone number. So we're gonna jump
to a quick break. It's eight forty five. You're listening
to the bloom Daddy Experience Sam and Otis News Radio
eleven seventy w w V A. Hey fifty, welcome back

(01:01:34):

before our long weekend with I'll talk to this guy.
Good morning, Kevin Cook strawb Automotive.

Speaker 7 (01:01:46):

Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
Good, good good?

Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
He's on his way to mountain your Honda? Ooh right,
now look at you lovely.

Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
Yeah, all right, Kevin, I'm gonna put you. Okay. So
we always talk about it's national what day? Right? So
today is national talk like Yoda day?

Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
Oh gosh, so are you sure that's today? I thought
it was yesterday? But that's okay.

Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
I'm looking at my Oh okay, well according to this
paper it's today unless I printed it on the wrong day. Whatever. Okay.
So my my ask of you, don't do it. Don't
do it, Kevin, sell me a car as Yoda. Don't
do it, just something simple as not everybody's into Star

(01:02:42):
Wars like you are, buy a car. You will.

Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Okay, there you go. She just did it for you.

Speaker 3 (01:02:49):
Whatever.

Speaker 2 (01:02:50):
Fine, okay. End of the month, savings. What's going on
at Straw Automotive.

Speaker 7 (01:02:57):
Memorial waiting coming up? You guys are gonna take a
little time off.

Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
I hope you do.

Speaker 5 (01:03:01):
Hope you do.

Speaker 8 (01:03:02):
Okay, have some fun. This is our red, white and
Wow weekend.

Speaker 7 (01:03:07):
Right, we do it every year. Everybody knows about this sale.
The manufacturers are pulling out all the stops.

Speaker 8 (01:03:13):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (01:03:14):
When it comes to pricing incentives, everybody's trying to hit
you know, their their sales numbers. We've got some goals set,
okay for our stores, and literally every.

Speaker 8 (01:03:26):
Unit in stock is on sale.

Speaker 7 (01:03:29):
You've got to continued employee pricing. At Ford, uh, the
only four dealer in the value has lifetime powertrain coverage. Okay,
so you get employee pricing plus lifetime power train. Same
thing with Chris or Dodge, Stephen ram right at both
those stores. Mountaineer Honda, which I'm headed to today, you know,
still the number one Honda dealer in the state of

(01:03:49):
West Virginia. Every unit discounted, every unit on sale, Incredible
payments like we talked about all month, or payments that
we haven't seen, some of them go back as far
as ten years.

Speaker 8 (01:04:04):
Okay, So take advantage, take advantage of what's going on
this weekend, get out, save some money, get Terear free
pricing on everything, and have some fun.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
Sounds like a plan. And I think you know what
I think ought to happen every car you seld this
weekend if they mentioned the Blue Daddy experience with salmon otis,
did Salmon Sam and I get a ten percent commission?
We'll split it. We'll split it. How about a one
percent commission?

Speaker 7 (01:04:36):
How you stop by, We'll feed your money?

Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
Okay, Hey, I like that. Okay, good enough. You're sold
cheap dates. Does so you want to you want to
promote what you're doing on Monday? What we're going.

Speaker 7 (01:04:51):
Yeah, I'm gonna be grilling uh like a Jamaican pork
with a Mexican street corn slaw.

Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
It's pretty good, okay, talking my language.

Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
And that will be at Strawb Automotive at the Highlands.

Speaker 7 (01:05:07):
Okay, we'll take we'll take food all the stores.

Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
You're always a nice guy, you know that.

Speaker 5 (01:05:15):
We try.

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
All right, Hey, enjoy your holiday weekend. All right, we'll
see you all right. There he goes.

Speaker 3 (01:05:22):
I think he's getting down in the mountains.

Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
Yeah, yeah, he's probably if he was just going through Fairmont.
There's a couple of dead spots done now, trust me,
I know.

Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
I guess he didn't like my idea. That's fine, that's fine.

Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
So I don't know what you want me to say,
I don't think anybody liked your idea.

Speaker 3 (01:05:41):
I thought it was fun.

Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
Whatever you're that's because you're work.

Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
I know, I get it. Fine, whatever, So this is
funny in France, or maybe I'm the only one that'll
find this funny more likely? Okay, so a small town
in France set a new world record for over three
thousand participants dressed up. Is a particular character to break

(01:06:05):
this world record? Can you guess what character?

Speaker 2 (01:06:08):
Waldo?

Speaker 3 (01:06:10):
No, Okay, Smurfs. They all dressed up as Smurfs. Over
three thousand people dressed up as Smurfs. Now, my question
is do they all run around in like the little
white diapers that looks like they wear the Smurfs do?

(01:06:34):
If you want to know what that noise is, that's
me shaking a paper and anger at him through the window. Okay, fine,
turn off there.

Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
You know, I know we have somebody listening down in
the Orlando area because they just texted me. Oh and
just want to bring this up that there is a
new theme park that's opening up. It's the first one
in twenty six years. It's opens its door today. It's
Universal Epic Universe, five different immersive worlds over fifty attractions
can be found in the new areas, including the Wizarding

(01:07:02):
World of Harry Potter, Ministry of Magic, and Super Nintendo World.
You can get a sneak peak of Universal's epic universe
at Universal Orlando dot com. So there you have that.

Speaker 3 (01:07:18):
That's Super Mario Brothers.

Speaker 2 (01:07:22):
What you need a day off?

Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
That's the theme song. Okay fine. And then on top
of that Memorial Weekend, Oscar Meyer has announced the first
ever Weeny five hundred.

Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
There's no way those cars are going around their lab
five hundred times.

Speaker 3 (01:07:38):
This is a race I could get into. It features
all of the iconic Wiener mobiles. The race will take
place Friday tomorrow at two pm Eastern time at the
historic Indian Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Six dogs, each representing a
different part of the country, will take will take each
other on to see who the true Wiener will be.

(01:08:06):
What oh, I thought you had something to say.

Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
That just kind of meant you, Oh, we're going to
do our drawing. Let's do that.

Speaker 3 (01:08:15):
Okay, Well, I was gonna who do you think will win?
The Chia Dog, the New York Dog, the Slaw dog,
the Sonorian dog dog. Yeah, yeah, it's shy shy oh.
I was thinking, uh, the chili dog and the Seattle Dog,
chili dog. I'm going with the slaw dog.

Speaker 5 (01:08:34):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
Fine, our winner, all right, I gave you the number.

Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
It hasn't changed.

Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
It has not changed, number nine, number nine.

Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
This is for two tickets to see Travis Tripp right
here at to Capitol Theater coming up in June.

Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
