Everglade City yesterday, a bear suspected of mauling an eighty
nine year old man.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission says they were attacked
on the man's property near Everglade City. Wildlife Commission officers
scoured the remote area of Collier County for hours in
search of the bear. Shots were then heard fired, and
wildlife officers were seen pulling a dead bear from the
nearby woods. If DNA testing confirms a bear killed them,

it would be Florida's first recorded fatal bear attack.

South Fox's Bury Bumgarden with the report. Meanwhile, Governardy Santis
south of Everglade City in the Lower Keys yesterday and
announcing the opening of a first of its kind of
reverse osmosis seawater desalination treatment plant. It's on Stock Island
in the Lower Keys. The plant, which will convert saltwater

into safe drinking water, will supply the lower keys with
fresh water during emergencies, so it won't be active all
the time. During emergencies, it will kick in. There was

for a sophisticated public gift card scam perpetrated throughout the

Treasure Coast. Jeffrey Castillo and Janelle Castile were found to
have been swapping out real public skift cards for fake
ones and looked real when customers activated the cards, the
funds would be deposited into an account that was controlled
by the suspects. Monday's thunderstorms produced severe conditions and communities
