And last week we had the story of the bear attack,
the alleged bear attack in Everglade City and if confirmed,
would have been the first human documented to have been
killed by a bear in our state. Well, we have
the rest of the story now, Fox's Tom Regoding. Eighty
nine year old Robert Markel was attacked and killed early
Monday near his home in a rural area east of

Naples and southwest Florida, near the Cypress Wildlife Management Area.
After that, wildlife officers set several traps and cameras.

They killed three black bears. The crops the results reveal
a two hundred and sixty three pound mail bear contained
Markel's partial remains. Testing all showed that same bears DNA
was president on Markell's body, inside his home and on
his dog.

Florida's legislature scheduled to resume the legislative session in Tallahassee
that has moved into overtime over a standoff between the
House and Senate over spinning levels and tax cuts. Following
last week's announcement by Governor de Santis that he would
veto a sales tax reduction if passed over his preferred

move forward with the House sales tax proposal, so there
