Speaker 1 (00:03):
From West Palm Beach to Tallahassee. This is Florida's news
that impacts you on the Bran Mud Show. Yeah, Joe
Malkin with you, and we've got this going on today.
Fox is Kevin orrets Ky.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
The Palm Beach County, Florida Board of Commissioners will vote
later today on a proposal to rename a four mile
section of Southern Boulevard President Donald J.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Trump Boulevard.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
That portion of roadway runs from Palm Beach International Airport
Tomorrow Lago. A law passed by the Florida legislature requires
the state's Department of Transportation to put up a sign
on Southern Boulevard honoring the President. So this would just
take things a step further.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
And that's why I'm sorry. There's stories out there that
Google Maps is already showing this change. And why is that, Well,
because it's laws. I guess today's vote means is the
county going to recognize that's correct?
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Yeah, So this is important. The state law has already happened.
The signs go up no matter what matter of if
the county is is going to you know, follow through
and what I will say, and I've always been consistent
on this. I have never been a big, hey let's
rename road guy, you know kind of guy. And that's
regardless of which one we're talking about or who the
(01:16):
person is. That's you know, for consideration. With that said,
to the extent that it's a thing, and to the
extent that we rename things for presidents. In Palm Beach County,
you have a stretch of Dixie Highway that runs through
Riviera Beach that is named President Barack Obama Highway, or
(01:37):
a president who literally never once was on that stretch
of road. Yeah, and so if the county once upon
a time said yeah, let's do that, it would be
indefensible for a stretch of road that actually does directly
lead to the President's house not to be renamed.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
And by the way, just one other point, another section
of southern I'm covering this in the news, of course,
the local news, but to not getting the national coverage.
But PbSO Motorman Highway. I believe it's what the name
of the further West stretch in honor of the three
lost deputies killed in the line of duty last November.
Sure nough.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
All right, So as we take a look at what's
going on, around our stake, give it or to De Santis,
and outgoing Education Commissioner Manny Diaz Junior highlighted continued success
in K three twelve education on Monday, seventy one percent
of Florida's public schools rated with A or B grades
this year. That is up from sixty four percent a
year ago. Similarly, the percentage of eight grade schools rose
by six percent year every year, with over half of
(02:35):
schools fifty six percent state wide, improving their standing over
a year ago. And actually, what I found to be
most impressive here was the improvement at the bottom. We
had a thirty nine percent reduction in D or F schools,
So that's big. There's the biggest improvement actually took place
with the worst performing schools. That's encouraging. Related Martin, Palm

over the past year. Florida's property insurance market the healthiest

Quoting Aon, Florida entered the midyear renewals on a much
sounder footing following recent legal reforms, stronger building codes, better

catastrophe modeling, and disciplined underwriting actions that have restored confidence
in the local insurance market. Now the improvement has resulted
in citizens property insurance these states insured last Resort shedding
nearly half of its policies from peak levels, commonly lower
renewal rates for existing policies among the private insurance market
amid growing competition within the state. Harley Clotty human again
