This is Florida's News that impacts you on the Brian
Mudshal and Brian Mud and Joel Malkin with you. And
we learned quite a bit more yesterday about the suspect
of the armed and dangerous suspect that was apprehended by
law enforcement at Palm Beach International.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Workers at Palm Beach International Airport called deputies after noticing
a man acting suspiciously near a dark colored vehicle parked
in a restricted area. When questioning the man, the deputies
found a loaded magazine for a semi automatic rifle inside
the car's glove box. When the man opened the compartment
to retrieve his rental agreement, they would then find the rifle,
as well as an assortment of knives underneath a blanket

on the seat. He's since been taken into custody and
identified as forty one year old Michael Rodriguez. The deputies
suspect he could have been plotting something like a mass shooting.
Rodriguez has an extensive criminal record and is not permitted
to possess firearm.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah, and so how did he get the rifle that
he had?

Speaker 1 (01:04):
It was traced to a theft in Riviera Beach in
twenty seventeen, so evidently he's had that thing for quite
some time. And however he came by whether he was
the one who stole it or just bought it off
as somebody who had.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
One other note that's scary to think about with this
case was that the investigators say that Rodriguez from Palm
Beach gardens. He was there and he was asking employees
at the airport. It was early morning and he said,
when do the first flights come in? Right, which just
leads your mind to go into places that we can't confirm.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Well. And then it's what Sheriff Bradshaw said yesterday you
had in your news.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
I mean, we know that nothing here was good, right,
just very thankful that people took appropriate action and whatever
may have been wasn't.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
His bond has been set.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Over a million dollars and he had his first court
date yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
He did not show.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
His attorney did said other news around Oer State, the
Stanta Floria has begun the formal process for the establishment
of a second detention center for illegal aliens, dubbed for
now anyway, the North Detention Facility just disappointed Joel need
to get U my O case very catchy. The detention
center is to be constructed at Camp Blanding, a Florida

National Guard training center just south of Jacksonville.

Rated restaurant Conroe in West Palm Beach has closed following
the arrest of the chef and owner, Jacob Bickelhop, following
an alleged assault on his wife that prompted an attempted
second degree murder charge. Today, the sixth day, the end
is in sight of the scheduled eight day closure north
Like Boulevard B Line Highway for the CSX railroad crossing repairs. Again,

delays of an hour or more are possible, with detours
of twenty one and thirty four miles still serving as
the only options for navigating around the closure. Claudier Today
increased chances for rain and thunderstorms throughout the day. Highs
in the upper eighties typical for the state. More Saharan
dust on its way through the Caribbean and into the
Gulf today, another plume that is tracking across the Central Atlantic,

and it continues to be the case that you know,
it's keeping things tamped down.

The activity.

We do have a lot of activity out there, but
you're not seeing a lot of strength in any of
the stuff, and the dust is a contributing factor. Three
systems that still being tracked. Tropical storm decks are just
in no hurry to do anything, just continueing to track
very slowly away from the US towards northern mid Atlantic.
The disturbance that came off the coast of Africa earlier
in the week, it is tracking towards the mid Atlantic.

(03:39):
A sixty percent chance of development. Now the overall trajectory
of it has it as a non factor regardless of
what it does for US. And a disturbance off the
south east US coastline is now moving away from the coast,
so that's a positive, and that one's also been downgraded
to just a thirty percent chance of development. Gas prices
mostly flat yesterday, actually some slight declines locally. Average price

for regular unleaded three thirteen in the Palm Beaches at
three twenty seven today, Martin three nineteen, Saint Lucie three
sixteen in Indian River County, right there at the state
average at three thirteen
