But first, I think this is the man who's been
mentoring Joel just nabbed eighty seven Burmese pythons in a month.

He's been awarded one thousand dollars for doing it through
a state incentive plan. Aaron Mann given the money as
part of a Python elimination program, which encourages python hunters
to capture and kill as many as possible.

He gets the man card that I lost for not
being able to drive in the foothills of Tennessee.

Hold on you, you think you had your man card?

You passed on it, all right. So it was a
smooth day for the start of the new school year.
Throughout the Palm beaches and Treasure Coaster wasn't noticeable. Law
enforcement presidents enforcing school zone speed elemits observed in numerous
communities throughout the area, in addition to, of course, the

traffic cammers within thirty three school zones. Governor de Santis
announced the completion of the Crane Creek m One Canal
Flow Restoration project, which is aimed at improving water quality
and the Indian River Lagoon while restoring natural water flow
to the Saint John's River.

It's another piece of the puzzle. Its encouraging.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
The Florida Public Service Commission voted to delay FPL's hearing
unrequested rate hights for the continued build out a new
power plans and the electrical grid. The delay on the
hearing comes am a settlement agreement that's been negotiated between
FPL and several business interests, including the Florida Retail Foundationalart
and the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy. The hearing likely

to be rescheduled after August twentieth, which is the window
to finish up the settlement. It'll be hot, humid today,
chance a thunderstorms throughut the day, Highs in the low nineties,
A touch warmer than usual for this day. There's a
thin layer of Saharan does that's passing through the Gulf today,
with a thicker plume that is making its way across
the Central Atlantic, really over the Leeward Islands right now
into the Caribbean. It'll probably impact us come later this week.

Related right behind it, tucked in behind the Saharan dust plume,
you have aaron and we'll get to that in a second.
Hurricane Center tracking three disturbances today, a disturbance in the
northwestern Atlantic, a disturbance in the northern Gulf of America.
Unlikely to develop, but yes, Tropical Storm Erin is expected

to develop into the season's first hurricane on Thursday as
it tracks across the southern Atlantic. Being a becoming a
major hurricane this weekend looks like probably around Sunday or so.

Longer range models generally show the system likely turning north
on the approach to the Caribbean, perhaps something that could
be a Bermuda event, but it is worth keeping an
eye on this week until we're certain that's going to
make that turn. Gas price has felled three since per
gallon yesterday. Average price for regular unleaded sy three oh
one in the Palm Beaches, three point fifteen Martin right

there at three oh one, three oh two in Saint Lucie,
and three o three in Indiana River County.

All had some national headlines. Police in DC now under
federal control after President Trump declared a public safety emergency
for the nation's capital, citing rampant crime and homelessness. He
says that crime numbers in DC are worse in places
like Bagdad. Brian was just giving us a rundown.

I don't have Bagdad crime information to be able to
not that one.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
No, but ratherwise compared to other cities that's right around
the country. Trump activating the National Guard to help local
law enforcement's part of his plan, and he will send
in the.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
President holding off on some tariffs of China for another
ninety days. The truce struck in June during talks between
US and Chinese officials keeps US tariffs on most Chinese
goods at fifty five percent, and President Trump picking E. J.
And Tony to be the next commissioner the Bureau of
Labor Statistics and Tony the chief economists of the Heritage Foundation.
Trump fired the former BLS commissioner earlier this month, accusing
