Speaker 1 (00:04):
This is Florida's news that impacts you on the Brian
Mud Show. Yeah, Brian Bud and Joe Malkinn with you.
And this went down in Fort Pierce yesterday.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
A federal trial is scheduled to begin Monday in Fort Pierce, Florida,
for the man law enforcement say attempted to shoot and
kill President Trump during a golf game at the Trump
West Palm Beach Golf Club in September of last year.
Ryan Wesley Ruth is now representing himself. Prosecutors had the
judge demand Ruth where only business attire during the trial

(00:38):
and no clothing with political statements. Ruth never was able
to fire a shot, having been found and confronted by
US Secret Service agents at the golf course. The alleged
attempt came just months after the then candidate survived being
shot by a would be assassin in Pennsylvania.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
So obviously a lot to keep track of there, and
a judge that seemingly is not going to take a
lot at the nonsense that has already come the way
of like.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
A golf challenge filed through the through the courts by
one Ryan Wesley Ruth to President Trump, we play golf
you win, you can execute me. I win. I take
your job.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Just yeah, as though it is laughing matter right and
the just right. I don't know exactly what goes on there,
but I wonder if he isn't trying to build like
some kind of an insanity play or something here. Try
to play that angle just ridiculous. But the judges on
Gwin takes so much of that nonsense. Gevinordie's antis announced
the results of the first two years for as Pilot

(01:43):
say for State Assistance for fitnyl Eradication program. Program provides
state grants to local enforcement agencies crackdown on drug trafficking.
According to the governor, under the program again two years
so far twenty twenty seven arrests have been made. Four
hundred and eighty five pounds in five one hundred and
forty five pounds of cocaine, over three hundred pounds of
meth have been seized, in addition to four point six

(02:05):
million dollars in cash, seven hundred and thirty illegally possessed firearms,
in seventy six vehicles used for drug running. So he
absolutely wants the program to continue. Kevernor also announced plans
for a new detention and deportation facility that's in the
the planning stages. The Panhandle Base facility is to be

(02:25):
named Panhandle Pokey. Joel was a big fan of Alligator Alcatraz.
Not such a big fan of the deportation depot.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah, that one sky ring, I like, can't handle Pokey.
The ring to it. It's just Pokey makes me uncomfortable.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Why. I don't know, because of what you might envision
goes on in a facility. Yeah, perhaps, I guess so, well,
you don't want to end up in the Pokey righty. So.
DeSantis also said that Alligator Alcatraz will remain in operation,

(03:11):
that the state and federal government will win the challenge
in attempting to close the facility under appeal. Talked about
the administrative hearing on til Rebach is probably the intersection
of Northeast First Street and Northeast Second Avenue. In my
takeaways today, there is an extension until Friday for the
state and the city to provide more materials. Thunderstorms in

(03:34):
the Mexican today hines in the upper eighties, which is
a little bit warmer than usual for the state. There's
a thin layers of air and dust it's pretty much
made its way through the Caribbean Sea, but it's been there.
Another plume that is in the mid Atlantic acting as
a headwind for tropical development. And on that note, the
Hurricane Center tracking one system, you have that disturbance off
the cause of Africa being given a seventy percent chance

(03:55):
of development by the end of the week. So the
reason it's not able to gain more steam sooner is
Saharan Dustin sitting in front of it. But then you
take a look kind of like what's going on out there,
Things can obviously change over the next week. The steering
currents are overwhelmingly north, So you've got this Bermuda him
that's sitting out there, and you got this steer you

(04:18):
would be borderline shocking to see this thing not get
yanked to the north by the time it gets to
about where you're seeing just north of the Leeward Islands,
like the the first hurricane of the season ended up
doing it not even further east. It's a very strong
current bias there. So anyway, just heads up on that
because you look at the map and you might be going, oh,

(04:39):
I would be shocked, absolutely shocked if this were not Oh,
Gas price is rose seven cents per gallon yesterday. Average
price for regular unleaded three eleven per gallon. It is
just that in Saint Lucy it'sen above the average at
three thirteen in the Indian River County three fifteen and
Martin and three twenty five per gallon in Palm Beach County.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
This morning, let's get of look at some national head lines.
President Trump says he's going straight to the Supreme Court
after a lower court ruled most of his global tariffs
are against the law. Trump says, we're going to ask
for an expedited hearing with the High Court. Today. Victims
of late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Gulaine Maxwell will
speak about their abuse on Capitol Hill today. It's the

(05:18):
latest chapter and what's turned into the contentious investigation into
the so called Epstein Files. President Trump announcing US Space
Command is moving to Huntsville, Alabama. That mover versus former
President Biden's decision to keep the headquarters in Colorado. President
says the military will be deployed to Chicago. Who's asked
about the possibility of the National Guard going there to

(05:39):
fight crime, responded, we're going in, adding I didn't say when,
and new team sitting atop the latest college football coaches poll.
Ohio State received fifty nine first place votes to climb
one spot in the rankings. Those are your headlines.
