Speaker 1 (00:04):
From West Palm Beach to Tallahassee.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
This is Florida's news.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
That impacts you on the Brian Mudshow and Brian Mud
and Joel Malkin with you. And as we take like
a news from around the state, how about we start
with a new season.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
The autumnal Equinox begins today, bringing cooler temperatures in shorter days.
It occurs when the sun crosses the equator, going from
north to south. Fall continues through the start of the
winter Solstice on December twenty first. Changing leaves are also
a hallmark of fall, and the Old Farmer's Almanac says
while they change color between mid September and early November,

(00:40):
the second and third weeks of October are peak times
for leaf peeping. And if all this talk of fall
has made you wonder when it's time to set our
clocks back an hour, there's still a few weeks to go.
Daylight Saving Time does not end until November. Tewond.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Of course, someone once said that here in South Florida,
especially instead of the leaves changing color, the license plates do. Yeah,
it sounds really pretty.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I was seven when I moved to Florida from New York,
so you know unless I mean, I've been on vacation
a couple of times in places, but it sounds like
something to check out. At some point we don't get
to see it.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
You have to go Nord to get the changing of
the leaves that way. It is beautiful. I will say this.
In the grand scheme of things, it is I much
prefer picking up palm fronds to dealing with the volume
of leaves that falls. Once the prettiness of the change
in the colors has run its course into two winters.

(01:41):
So there is that, all right. So the fastest growth
and employment of college graduates this decade has occurred in
Florida and Texas. According to a new study by j
LLL Research, eighteen percent of college graduates nationally I think
about this, eighteen percent of nearly one in five have
stayed or relocated into Florida or Texas since twenty twenty.

(02:02):
That is a two percent share shift over that time
equal to over two million jobs. Corporate relocations to Florida
and Texas. Cite is the top reasons for the shifting
talent trends, and in effort to give out the state's
first bear hunt in a decade, the zero Club be
Florida has had success and encouraging its members to bag
a tag save a bear. Under the club's campaign, its

(02:24):
members are encouraged to enter the lottery for a tag
with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and titling the
holder to legally kill one bear during the hunt. The
tags cost one hundred dollars for residents, three hundred dollars
for non residents, one hundred and eighty seven tags available.
Remains to be seen what the final results are, However,
reports of widespread participation by the activists have been announced.

(02:44):
Today is the last day to seek a bear tag
in advance of the scheduled December bear hunt. Showers possible
throughout the day, hines in the mid eighties typical for
this date. This air does man just keeps kicking up
off the coast of Africa. I mean, that's a happy day.
Never see anything white like it. And as a result
we have it tracking still from the Leeward Islands across

(03:05):
the Central Atlantic, which is why even why we have
disturbed When we have disturbances, you don't have them blowing
up as they're you know, right off of like the
Leeward Islands. And all that the way that they generally do.
And on that note, when you take a look at
the three systems out there that the hurricane centers tracking
Hurricane Gabrielle passing east of Bermuda and a head heading

(03:26):
towards the northern mid Atlantic, you have a disturbance of
the Southern Atlantic falling a very similar path to Gabrielle,
being given a sixty percent chance of developing. And again,
the point of where it might is once it gets
through the Saharan dust. That's what Gabrielle did. It did
nothing until it got past the Sharon dust and then
it became a hurricane. Well, same kind of thing, you know,
is the prospect here for Gabrielle. It's got to go

(03:49):
through Saharan dust, which means no chance of it being
a problem for us, because it would already be north
of where we it's aside from the direction that would
is probably going to go north anyway, it would be
north of South Florida, for example, by the time it
would even have a chance to develop into something. Meanwhile,
another disturbance east of the Leeward Islands has a thirty
percent chance of developing over the next seven days, as

(04:10):
it passes over the Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico and potentially
parts of the Caribbean. Gas prices they fell through the weekend,
they remain higher than a week ago. The average price
for regular unleaded State one, three ten and the Palm
Beach is three twenty four. Martin by far the best
around at three oh six. It's three fourteen in Saint Lucient,
three twelve in Indian River County,
