This is Florida's news that impacts you on the Brian
Mud Show. Hey Brian Budd and Jil Malkin with you.
And today a big change, historic change with the Social
Security Administration the way payments are taking place.

Beginning today, the Social Security Administration is going paperless, which
means federal benefit payments will be issued electronically. The change
was announced in an executive order issued by President Trump
in March.

Says paper checks create quote, unnecessary cost delays and the
risk of fraud. Most Social Security beneficiaries already received digital payments,
but about half a million people had still been getting
paper checks. Those requesting an exemption to the digital payments
must file a waiver with the US Treasury Department.

Yeah, so that's going on. Also, speaking of payments, Florida's
minimum wage officially fourteen dollars per hour effective today for
untipped employees, with a minimum of ten dollars ninety eight
cents per hour for tipped employees. The minimum wage will
rise by another dollar per hour next September, will then
adjust with inflation starting in twenty twenty seven. West Palm

Beach the latest local government to adopt school zone speed cameras.
The Commission voted to install the cameras, which detect speeders
and school zones, automatically issuing citations in twenty one school
zones across the city. West Palm will become the twelfth
municipality within the Palm Beaches with the cameras. Once installed,
those traveling over ten miles an hour above the speed
limit will be issued one hundred dollars citations. Joel, go

primary election we've got going on today.

Well, we have the primary. It's the GOP primary. Rob
Long is the only Democrat and he's currently the vice
mayor of Delray Beach. And this is District ninety. Joe Cassello,
the state rep out of District ninety, sadly passed away
in July. So you have the GOP primary going on
today in District ninety. Obviously, the poles are open now

and until seven o'clock tonight. Vote at your standard regular
polling place and go to vote Palmbeach dot gov for
more details on that. December night will be the general election.

Right, the showers are possible throughout the day to day
due to the outer impacts of tropical storm of Meldahi's
mid eighties typical for the state. We do have a
thin plume Saharan dust extending from Aspiniola through the Caribbean
Sea and across the Central Atlantic, acting as a headwind

mid Atlantic. Tropical Storm Emmelda is expected to strengthen into
a hurricane today as attracts east towards Bermuda. Gasprice is
