Tampa, Florida and surrounding Hillsborough County now leads the nation
in home foreclosures, making Florida the hardest hit state with
regard to home ownership in the midst of nationwide affordability issues.
The statistic is published by Adam Data Solutions, the largest
compiler of real estate data. They recorded nearly thirty seven
(00:41):
thousand foreclosure filings in October, which is a nineteen percent
jump from October of last year. Affordable home ownership has
become a political hot topic in Florida, with Governor Ron
DeSantis championing abolishing most property taxes on family homes.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
And I think it'd be instructive to know how much
any of those foreclosures may not have happened if we
did not have homestead of property taxes and so related
to this whole conversation, Palm Beach County shelving A DEI
related study officials paid four hundred and thirty thousand dollars

The study's aim was to evaluate the disparity and minority
and women owned businesses within the county. Florida law bans
DEI based spending and decision making with taxpayer funds. The

study appears to have been uncovered by the Florida Doese
team's audit upon Beach County. I'm not certain of that,
but this has come out on the back of that audit,
and I have a feeling we're about to get a
lot more information flow. So you literally had just last July.
Whether it's the commissioners, somebody authorized at a high level
(02:02):
this illegal study to be conducted. Wonder how many people
are taxi out at their homes to fund that in
Palmach County.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Wonder if it was the outgoing county administrator.

needed to qualify for ballot access for next year's midterm elections.
Martin County officials warning local businesses and residents of a
recent surge and counterfeit twenty dollars bills being circulated throughout
the county. MCSO says the bills are hard to detect
their urging. Extra diligence cutting, checking for color shifting, ink texture,

for area businesses. The recent issues in Martin County have
come following recent counterfeiting issues being discovered throughout the Florida
