Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to the Brian Munt Show, and thank you for listening.
It's time for today's top three takeaways. Helpful, useful, repeatable.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Four that we are number one in the world for
wealth migration and what's really behind the shutdown?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Showdown.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
As we take a look at my takeaways for today,
congratulations first and foremost for surviving day one.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Let me see if the sun is oh, it's coming out.
Look at that.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Sun's going to rise for a second date during a
partial government shutdown?

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (00:36):
How do we ever get through a day without the
federal government at full bloat? I just so about the
latest political wranglings here Fox is Kevin Quirk's the.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
White House going all in on branding this the Schumer shutdown,
blaming the Senate minority leader for shutting down the government
in order to basically curry favor with the far left
in his party. The sticking going for Democrats remains healthcare.
They say they want an extension of Obamacare subsidies said
to expire at the end of the year, and a

(01:07):
repeal of health care provisions and the One Big Beautiful Bill. Meantime,
the Vice President says layoffs of federal workers are likely
coming in the coming days, which would be a departure
from the furloughs of federal workers during previous shutdowns and
could get Democrats back to the bargaining table.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Say it again, mister President, Actually, better still, actually do it,
Just do it. Pull a Nike here, let's go, let's
make it happen. So, yeah, my top takeaway for you today,
it's not just about health care for illegal immigrants.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
What this really is about.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Is attempting to make COVID era welfare permanent.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
You're hearing a.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Lot about the Medicaid stuff and Obamacare plan.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
What actually is the demand here by Democrats?

Speaker 2 (01:59):
As we enter date two of the partial government shutdown,
the talking points by both sides are defied. Democrats say
they're fighting to prevent cuts to healthcare, while Republicans are
saying they're not going to vote to pay for healthcare
of illegal immigrants.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
So what's the real deal.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
The real deal in this is that the so called
American Rescue Plan, remember that the one that Biden and
Democrats did rescue you. You don't look you don't look
like your appreciative.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
You're Joel. What happened?

Speaker 2 (02:37):
You're rescued I'm still waiting, So I would have better
been named the Biden Inflation Act. That was the first
piece of legislation that led us to forty plus year
high inflation. So anyway, one of the many things that
piece of really awesome lunch just did, as was rescuing you,

(03:05):
it significantly enhanced ACA policy subsidies. Okay, so Obamacare policy subsidies,
and those are now ending. And if I am to guess,
and I know this is definitely true of Joel, if
there is anything that you probably enjoy doing when it
comes to pain for health insurance, it's going You know what,

(03:26):
My premiums are so low, and my cost of healthcare
is just so low, I want to go ahead and
just indiscriminately start paying.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
For everybody else's too, you know what, No, never mind,
And that's what we've been doing.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
See, due to the extensive subsidies put in place by
the American Rescue Plan aka the Biden Inflation Acts, what
you have is that ninety two percent of people on
ACA plans ninety two percent of people on Obamacare plans
most recently, are subsidized by you and me.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
What does that mean from a cost standpoint?

Speaker 2 (04:05):
It shifted seventy five percent of the cost burden for
those health insurance plans from those who use them.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
To you and me.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Democrats are demanding that those subsidies stay in place permanently.
That's but that's only one demand is that you continue
to pay for ninety two percent of the people who
are using ACA policies. The next demand by Democrats remember

(04:40):
the work requirements that recently went in place under the
One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the ones that said, hey,
you've got to keep getting Medicaid. You actually have to
do anything constructive during the course of the week, like
if you're able bodied, do anything that has redeeming value
to it, and you can stay at Medicaid. You know

(05:02):
the Medicaid work requirements, able body people, you work twenty
hours a week, Just do twenty hours a week of work,
or volunteer. If you don't want to work, volunteer for
twenty hours a week. You do that and you stay
on your Medicaid. Democrats are demanding that they do nothing.

(05:25):
Democrats are demanding that the work requirements, the twenty hours
of doing anything productive in a week go away. Those
are their two demands. That you continue to pay for
ninety two percent of all the Obamacare plans out there too,
and that you continue to pay for Medicaid for people
who could work but choose to do nothing. I'm not

(05:49):
making this up. That is one hundred percent accurate. That
is what this is really about. And so Republicans are
right not to give it, and they are right not
to budge an inch. And in the meantime, when will
the permanent firings of non essential government employees spegin That's.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
The one question here on that note.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
You have and a Paulina Luna or a congresswoman who
was intimating that direction.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
They walk themselves into this. But I think right now
everyone agrees that there's a massive deficit that we face,
and so this is going to be making lemonade out
of lemons. They got us here, And frankly, I think
that the president is well overdue for making those promises
to the American people and delivering on that. In regards
to really bringing in some of the inflated government.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
There you go, well overdue, I agree. Let's not talk
about Yeah, these furloughs are going to become permanent. Let's
make them permanent. Let's go Meanwhile, my second takeaway for
you today number one in the world. Number one in
the world. What is number one in the world. Our
state is where the wealthy want to be. So Florida,

(07:03):
we've been the top relocation destination post pandemic.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
You've known this.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
We've been the top beneficiary of wealth migration for those
relocating across the country. You probably knew that too, but
you probably didn't know this. Florida has now added over
one hundred and eighty billion dollars in adjusted gross income
through migration over the past five years, having added well
over one hundred thousand net higher earner households. Those are

(07:29):
defined as households earning over two hundred thousand dollars per year.
And on that note, Florida is now number one for
where the ultra wealthy want to be, and not just
in the country, but anywhere in the world. So Altrada's
World Ultra Wealth Report for twenty twenty five is out

(07:49):
and it shows that Florida is poised for incredible growth,
not just with the wealthy, but the world's ultra wealthy.
To be defined as a member of this class, you
must have a networth of at least thirty million dollars.
So we're talking about people thirty million. In above here.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
A couple of quick and related points.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
There are already more ultra high net worth individuals living
in the United States and the next nine countries combined. Also,
more ultra high networth individuals are expected to be created
in the United States than any other country through the
rest of the decade and the advent of the AI age,
and more relocating ultra high networth individuals are looking to
come to the United States than any other place. But

(08:35):
for those of the greatest means, whether they're already in
this country or are looking to relocate from other countries,
they want to come here. Florida is the top destination
in the world for the relocation of ultra high net
worth individuals, and not just right now, but for the

(08:56):
rest of the decade. This report has intention plans for
the remainder of the decade, and we are number one
to give you an idea. Over the next five years,
Flores's population of the super wealthy is expected to rise
by eight point eight percent, not in total, but per year.

(09:18):
Eight point eight percent growth in ultra high net worth
individuals per year. And by the way, this is even
factory mom donny Man. You imagine he wins in New
York I would be like twenty percent per year. And
about now you might be thinking, okay, great, other than
Florida becoming more crowded and probably more expensive, what does

(09:39):
this mean to me? That's a good question, and the
answer is a lot. Actually, I'm going to boil this
all the way down for you. In large part due
to the success of Florida's best in the country ability
to attract businesses and high networth individuals, our economy continues
to perform considerably better than the rest of the countries.
Flordia's economy continues to be the top ranked in the country,

(10:01):
with an economy that has continued to grow at about
twice the rate of the country. Florida has a much
lower unemployment rate than the national average, much higher wage
growth than the national average, including the fastest growth and
high wage jobs in the country, and somewhat surprisingly most recently,
Florida's inflation rate is actually lower than the national average.

(10:23):
But as for what the best in the world, height
net worth migration into our state for the rest of
the decade will mean and estimated twenty billion dollars in
annual GDP contributions to Florida's economy, raising the state's economic
growth rate by about one percent more annualized than what
it would otherwise be, adding fifty three billion dollars in

(10:46):
additional real estate demand, driving basically thirty percent higher property values,
greater than two billion dollars in locally directed charitable giving,
resulting in the creation of one hundred and fifty three
eight thousand, five hundred jobs, with wages for those jobs
that will average being forty one percent more than the

(11:08):
typical job currently pays in the state today, and most specifically,
boiling this all the way down, the average household income
is projected to be thirteen hundred and fifty dollars higher annually.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Above what it would otherwise be because of this wealth migration.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
So, in other words, Fortes economy already the best in
the country and going forward one track for producing the
best economy in the world. There's a lot to light
there and to feel good about, and just about everybody
should benefit from the impact ultimately of the trickle down
economic effect.

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
