September represented another massive win for Republicans over Democrats in Florida. The Republican advantage over Democrats now stands at a record 1,387,455. That total includes a net change of 31,968 voters in September. Of Florida’s 67 counties – only 8 currently have Democrat majorities by way of voter registration. It's clear that the trends that were in place prior to last year’s election cycle have continued to play out after it as well.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Two sides to the story. There's only one side to
the facts. Welcome to the Brian Mud Show and thank
you for listening. As we take a look at Florida's
voter registration update here, and we have had many outcomes
that have changed in recent years, haven't we? Once the
ultimate swing state now kind of like the ultimate red

(00:26):
staves the way a lot of people look at it.
Democrats held the voter registration advantage in Florida from the
onset of partisan registration all the way until November of
twenty twenty one. Ever since then, it's been a Republican
runaway in the state, and to the extent that only
one month, only one month over the past nearly four

(00:47):
years now have Democrats outperformed Republicans, and it was not
in September. As we take a look at the most
recent update from the Florida Division of Elections electing voter
registration information statewide starting this month, we saw pretty significant changes.
Yet again, to give you an idea, in September, Democrats

(01:10):
lost over twenty five thousand voters in the state. Republicans
gained over ninety eight hundred voters. MPa registrations rose by
about thirty two hundred. So you continue to see that
real dichotomy to where you know, Republicans added MPa minor
parties up a little bit, Democrats awful lot. As voter

(01:31):
rolls continue to be cleaned up in this off election year.
Here is the year to date scorecard, and it's pretty remarkable.
Democrats have now lost about three hundred and sixty two
thousand voters in this state this year, Republicans about one
hundred and thirty thousand this year. Big old difference there, right,

(01:54):
big old difference there by the way NPA minor party
registrations off greater than three hundred and fifteen thousand, and
so what this has resulted in not only another record
Republican advantage over Democrats at this point, but also if
you're taking a look at a percentage basis, there are
now ten point three percent more Republican voters than Democrats

(02:15):
in the state. With the advantage that now stands at
one point three nine million voters. And that includes a
net change of about thirty two thousand to the benefit
of Republicans over the past month. So you continue to
see any way you look at this, it is quite

(02:35):
the story for Republicans in this state, and of Florida's
sixty seven counties, only eight currently have Democrat majorities by
way of voter registration, and there are some big changes.
I mentioned it last month, but Palmage County in particular
has moved rather quickly towards the right in recent months.

(02:56):
I'm going to have another update on county information on Thursday.
What we're seeing here is pretty remarkable, the speed with
which is happening. You can see a couple more big
counties change, not just before next election cycle and the
midterm elections next year, possibly as soon as this year,
by the end of the year. More to come.
