Speaker 1 (00:03):
Two sides to the story. There's only one side to
the facts. Welcome to the Brian Mudshow, and thank you
for listening. As we protect the palm beaches, we honor
those who serve and sacrifice. This is brought to you
by the Good Greek Spirou, Good Greek Moving and Storage.
And yeah, this is designed to pay homage to those

(00:26):
who have literally laid down their lives in service to
our communities, but also to serve as a reminder for
all the rest of us, of the rest that are
out there every single day that our friends, our neighbors, family.
In some cases, they leave the house, they put in
the badge, they go to work, never knowing what the
heck might happen next. And it's been awful so many times.

(00:47):
Last year, LEDs were up seventeen percent nationwide. We have
three hundred and forty two officers shot in the line
of duty. In total, we lost one hundred and sixty
seven heroes, eight in Florida. The better news is the
rate has been much much lower this year, so that's encouraging. Still,
fifty law enforcement professionals have fallen in the line of duty,

(01:08):
including two in Florida, and we suffered these losses. This
week you had in New York officer Drabel Islam, who
was murdered while working security at this week's Park Avenue
shooting that resulted in the death of four people and
the headquarters for Blackrock in and the NFL. Islam was

(01:31):
shot in the back by the suspect, who later shot
and killed himself. This is what White House Press Secretary
Caroline Levitt had to say.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Everyone at the White House is keeping the officer's family, friends,
and fellow NYPD law enforcement officers in our thoughts, in prayers,
no doubt, and the doctor is survived by his expectant
wife and two children. In Kansas, Deputy Elijah Ming murdered
while responding to it to disturbance. Upon arriving on the scene,

(02:01):
the suspects began firing on responding officers, fatally striking Elijah.
After a ninety minute standoff with police, the suspects surrendered
has been charged with murder. Elijah survived by his wife
and son. And on that note, as we honor the
heroes we've lost, please remember the families of the fallen
as well. The average fallen officer forty one years old,

(02:22):
eleven years of service. There are thirty one widows and
eighty two children who've lost to parent. So it says
you're a weekly reminder to back the badge and spread
the word because Lord knows that they need us every
bit as much as we need them.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
